Kuro, Shiro and Keith out on a night picnic, with Kuro and Keith lounging on the deep blue blanket watching content as Shiro sets up the telescope they brought. Keith gets up and offers to help but Shiro just waves him off, telling him to just relax and enjoy the night. So he does. He walks a little ways away from their designated spot and turns his gaze skyward. The stars are out in full tonight, and Keith takes full advantage of the simple stargazing he can manage without equipment. He's in the middle of mapping out the leo constellation, when all of a sudden a light flies across the darkness, then two, then two more before hundreds follow in their path. 'Its a meteor shower'. Keith looks away from the sky to excitedly shout to his boyfriends but when he sees them he's met with the site of them both kneeling, with tiny identical boxes in their hands.

Lights streak over them, painting his partners of 4 years in a blinding array of light. They have been the lights that lit up his path ever since the day he met them. Shiro and Kuro are his shining, beautiful stars, and they've whispered the same sentiment back to him tenfold. The irony of it all isn't lost on him as emotion wells up inside of Keith and the dam breaks. He bursts into tears that could rival the speed of the falling stars above. The two men kneeling in front him can barely ask "the question" before Keith is jumping on them both chanting "yes yes yes!" over and over. Cue Shiro crying as well because he's a big happy -now engaged- sap.

He comes to slowly, mind fuzzy and eyelids heavy. He's lying on his back on a hard surface, with a bright light shining on him from directly above.

Shiro's mind snaps into sharp clarity when he realises he is restrained by his wrists and ankles. Panic starts to creep up and his breaths come quicker and shallower. He tries to move and feels more straps across his chest and thighs. Trying to turn his head reveals another strap across his forehead, pinning him in place.

And then we finished off with Sad Teens in the Woods for Ren's trauma to finally be brought to the forefront. Kuroyuri, the village that he almost certainly used to live in and was destroyed. AND THEN THEY SPLIT UP!!! THEY SPLIT THE FREAKING PARTY AND THERE'S A GIANT GRIMM WANDERING AROUND!!!

I'd be interested to know what Kuroyuri means. I know Kuro means black (Curse you Voltron), but I don't know what yuri means other than the femslash internet meaning. Someone let me know!

As for me, I had a good time this episode, and I can't wait for the next one. There's a lot of plot threads that are getting close to wrapping up, which is good because I'm pretty sure there are only two episodes left this volume.

World of Remnant is next, and that'll be on Tuesday or Wednesday depending on when I get the time, and then the next episode will be on Friday! If you're a Patreon, I'm gonna be doing the next Volume 3 song on the Discord over the weekend

Atlas Ocean Rescue - Chapter 1 - CielPansyhive - Voltron: Legendary Defender [Archive of Our Own]

Summary: Marine life came in and out of Atlas Ocean Rescue for rehabilitation constantly. There were turtles getting stuck in plastic, dolphins and seals getting too close to boats, otters with oil stuck in their fur. They frequented the surrounding beaches, both cleaning up the land and gently helping animals that accidentally washed ashore. When Hunk and Lance rush through the doors with a real-life merman on the gurney Keith doesn’t know how to handle it. Mermaids apparently exist, and Keith has to operate. As much as it’s a shock to him, how is the merman going to feel waking up in a tank? They had their research cut out for them.

Note: There are graphic descriptions of injuries/surgery in the first chapter and will be some in later ones. Overall, this fic is just mutual pining Sheith with the rest of the crew and their shenanigans, plus smut.

Were the galra trying to grow plant resources? Why were they shaped so… oddly? Were these droids? No matter how hard he squinted, he still couldn’t seem to make out anything really defining about them, so he blindly groped around the room for a light switch. “Pidge, come in. I can’t make anything out.” “

So, I finally had a chance to watch pacific rim. Promptly dreamt up a vld crossover.

The basics- Shiro and Keith are jaeger pilots based in either Japan or Hong Kong (dream unclear) and the higher ups (Coran and Alfor) have a plan to make a larger Jaeger but need five people to split the load.

Shiro’s twin (kuron/kuro/Ryou) is called in with his team (Lance and Hunk, because where in the rules does it say they have to start at the same characterization of vld season one) and the higher ups are like “perfect! You’re twins so you and your teams should drift perfectly” and Shiro and his Twin are like “uh, did you not get the memo on why we’re leading separate teams on opposite side of the pacific?”

Higher ups of the higher ups don’t care, they still have to test the darn thing under the watchful eyes of Allura and Pidge (who’s brother and dad are jaegar pilots)

And promptly things go sideways because despite being twins, Shiro and twin have trauma from when they did work together and drifting together freaks them both out. Keith meanwhile is surprised that he’s compatible with anyone other than Shiro

Bonding ensues after

Anyway, things go sideways while Shiro and Twin go to visit someone (???) and the base gets damaged, the only way out is for Pidge and Allura to join up.

They have some trouble, and get help from Matt and Dad, as well as the twins who would like their partners to stay alive and that’s it so far?

Thoughts? At least for Allura and Pidge

I think this sounds very interesting!

The way things take some time to figure out the ultimate configuration for the Voltron jaeger is really good (and that feels like a very Sanda move to just. ignore what Shiron and Kuro tell her about not being drift compatible. I know you said the higher ups were Alfor and Coran, but that's such a Sanda move she has to be involved somehow). The idea of Allura and Pidge joining in the middle of a disaster and discovering that they are drift compatible with the other three and getting out together is really great!

It sounds like it could be a very fun AU!!
