so anyway~ Emily has a fondness for Doll it seems?

sorry for the handwriting, I have no idea who which snakes are(sorry snakes), but I'm assuming due to the placement of the speech bubble and the snake, that that one is Emily. and so the snake reaching out for Doll is also Emily. Emily also is defending Doll and saying they can trust her. what's up Emily? girl v girl solidarity?

as long as Emily doesn't betray the rest of the snakes cjsjdks, I think we'll be fine...

cause the other snakes definetly seem to be protective of Ciel, thank goodness. other than that though, I'm really enthused to see what the dialogue between snake and the snakes looks like :D I think a big theory before is that snake just talked through the snakes as himself, and DID is still a possibility. though to me atleast it appears much more clearly that snake and the snakes are having an actual mental conversation- how, dunno, does it matter. the screenshot before this one shows the internal monologue more clearly, which is more interesting to me. does snake see himself as the snakes talking to him? are they all biologically linked? or is this only artistic? does snake know what space looks like?

anywho, that was fun, but now I gotta ask a serious question now, cause I'm now confused and doubting my memory.

I definetly forgot, so can someone please remind me of the hard evidence we have the Doll certainly died?😅 I looked back through chapter 36 where we last saw her, candy falling and fade to black, all that. what I was looking for though was the reapers taking her cinematic record, and I didn't find it. I finished the arc, not there. is it later in the manga? or did it never happen.

I'm just wondering what the chances are that Ciel pitied her enough to let her go with a warning/threat.

the first conclusion would be that doll's story is only a fragment of the truth, but idk, I think that a lot of people were expecting this chapter to cover her death in more detail- as was I. so for us to not even see her go down at sebastian's hand, even when it's seen through her perspective this time, feels odd to me. I get it if yana is saving it for later... please help me I'm doubting myself ;;v;;

So, it turns out all this hullabaloo at the end of Chapter 195 was over a trivial adjustment to the Pomeranian kids’ teatime dessert, from lemon drizzle cake to lemon tart. But it’s no trifling matter for the staff of F.O.L. Orphanage; these ladies are on a mission!

Just look at their reactions to Snake’s innocent question about why this minor change is such a big deal in the first place:

Shocked, scandalized…and, perhaps, more than a little frightened.

The devil is evidently in the details at this institution, especially where the Diet Phantomhives are concerned, but why? Who’s responsible for micromanaging these children’s daily lives to the point that the subtlest of variations means “everything” to the orphanage’s residents? And, most troubling of all—what are the consequences if the staff fail to comply with these persnickety instructions to the letter?

I’m glad you’ve found them helpful… I try my best, and I do want to keep doing these, bc I’ll read/translate the chapters for myself and friends anyway, but it does take a lot of spoons to make the posts here on top of the actual translation itself.

I’m still unsure if I should spend the spoons to make the post about Snake’s snakes from this last chapter (ch 195). 🤔 I have notes but it’ll take a lot to put together and I’m not sure if it will be worth the energy ?

i pretty sure that they didn’t adapt all manga panels some kenma’s pretty face didn’t appear QAQ! sooo... I will put here all the panels that we will never see translated into anime for anyone that only watch the anime and for anyone that wants remember old times in haikyuu manga:

I am very sad that this scene in particular not appears here because it emphasizes so much how good Yaku is but maybe I can understand that they haven’t put it since this scene should appear at the end of the third season it doesn’t (IG advanced the moment where they tell to Karasuno people that Kageyama would go to the Japan team).

We can deduce how good Yaku is for Akane, but since she is a little girl and the spectator barely knows her, at first we don’t know how much her knowledge of volleyball is. However, since we know Noya and know how GOOD Noya is, his words about Yaku makes us see how really good Yaku is when it comes to facing this scene. Its really a shame that they didn’t adapt it :c.

And yeah, I’m very sad bc this scene  makes my heart beat for YakuNoya, leave me alone with my sadness pls.

I’m pretty sad about this in particular because the ova in fukurodani’s match its focused only in Bokuto. And you know, Bokuto is very dependent of his team. In the anime is like only Bokuto and Akaashi exist in Fukurodani and is pretty sad because it’s a great team. 

Btw, I’m pretty sure that with 1-2 more ovas this post will never exist. BC with 20 mins more they should can add all of this cut scenes.

Although the raws have already started to surface, it looks like the official English translation for Chapter 195 won’t be available until the 19th…but at least we’ll be starting next Monday right with our monthly dose of Kuro angst! 😉

Hmm…

It’s true that Seb removed the glove from his left hand before setting Kelvin’s lair ablaze in Chapter 34, and we never see him don a replacement. This panel below from Chapter 35 solidifies that point, clearly showing that his degloved hand remained bare after he walked outside, at which point butler and master ran into Doll.

Comparing the above panels with Doll’s flashback in Chapter 195, Sebastian’s left hand isn’t visible in the top half, but it’s unambiguously shown in the next shot due to the contact seal on the back. And, with a dramatic flair worthy of the most bombastic theater major, he’s pulling off a glove that shouldn’t be there.

Why the inconsistency?

1. Artistic error? Even a talented mangaka with a whole team of assistants like Yana isn’t infallible, and this wouldn’t be the first time she goofed. For example, I’m pretty sure that she initially forgot to draw Vincent’s mole when O!Ciel stumbled upon his parents’ corpses during the twin reveal flashbacks. Plus, she’s a busy woman; in addition to cranking out monthly Kuro chapters, she also dedicates a considerable portion of her time to The Mouse 😭 (though I respect that Yana’s gotta get her bag somehow). It’s possible that she and/or the assistant(s) helping her with this chapter just didn’t catch the mistake, and got so caught up in drawing Sebas’s iconic signature move he likes to flaunt before making a kill (one hell of a drama queen), that no one remembered he’d already dropped his left-hand glove in the ritual chamber.

2. Deeper meaning? However, let’s assume that this was an intentional choice on Yana’s part. If so, we next need to consider whether the magical reappearing glove makes sense (as much as anything is logical in the Kuroverse) within the context of this story.

Frankly, it seems out of character for O!Ciel to leave loose ends dangling when wrapping up a case, particularly a new enemy with ample reason to seek vengeance. It’s also in Sebastian’s best interests to summarily dispose of any threats to his young lord rather than settling for half measures. That being said, O!Ciel was left shell-shocked and deeply rattled after the incident with Lord Kelvin triggered his PTSD. Regardless of his descent into evil, the boy hasn’t fully extinguished his softer side, and the Emerald Witch arc revealed that Doll was among the casualties of his quest for revenge who left a lasting impression. Therefore, it’s within the realm of possibility that he might have ordered Sebastian to spare her and let her go free (though this is contrary to my personal opinion). Hypothetically, Undertaker could have swooped in at this point to take the girl under his wing, tampering with her cinematic records to exacerbate her hatred of the little earl. But this would be contingent on an ability to edit the cinematic records of the living. I might be forgetting a key piece of info (please correct me if so!), but hasn’t this procedure only been performed with the memories of the deceased? After all, that’s how Undertaker creates the driving impetus for his bizarre dolls to function! Besides that, even if O!Ciel did show her clemency, I highly doubt Doll could ever forgive him—not when the Watchdog and his servants are directly responsible for the deaths of her entire family. Undertaker likely wouldn’t have to do much coaxing to get her to join R!Ciel’s team.

I understand why Yana’s caginess about what exactly Sebastian did (or didn’t) do to poor Doll gives cause for suspicion, but I would argue that this fits into the broad structure sensei’s adhered to in the previous blood collection facility arcs. Toboso didn’t provide all the information about the antagonists up front. For example, we didn’t know for certain what happened to the missing maids of Heathfield Manor, or that Jane was a highly skilled private soldier, until the climax of Mey Rin’s and Ran Mao’s investigation, just like we didn’t learn the full story about Ada’s motives or receive confirmation that Layla was a bizarre doll until near the end of the sanatorium arc. It makes sense to me that Yana would take a similar approach to Doll’s flashbacks, as well. That seems more appropriate for a dramatic revelation scene, when the tension is at its peak, than this early in the game, especially when Doll is presumably fudging the truth.

Given the ruthless treatment those who oppose our earl typically receive…and how Undertaker was circling around the site of the fire like a hungry vulture…and Doll’s very name…at least for now, I’m standing by my current theory that she was killed outright by Sebastian and subsequently turned into a bizarre doll, and that the oddities in the 195 flashback panel might have arisen from a careless blunder.

He’s giving us flowing locks and luscious lashes! A devilish gaze and a carnivorous fang peeking out that betray his inhuman nature but merely enhance his otherworldly beauty!
