“Kurari is just like his old man, he's a trickster who loves to play and mess with people for his own enjoyment. He can often be arrogant, upset when he's not the center of attention, he has the tendency to be childish at times. He can be a bit overly trusting and naive at times, though he's good at detecting most lies despite being a horrible one himself, he's quick to call people out on their bluff. Despite how he acts he can become very serious when needed, especially when it comes to those he cares about, he's insanely protective of others.”

Saiki Kurari and the other espers.

Kurari, a sukeban who’s a dream esper with the powers of essiokinesis (the manipulation of reality) and several others lol. Hydrokinesis, oneriokinesis, shapeshifting, telepathy, empathy (feeling one’s emotions through touch or objects), creation. She manifested through Kusuo’s dreampsyching powers after Kusuo met her in another reality. She’s biologically the daughter of Kusuo and mikoto, who’s his wife in this au. Kurari is negative, quiet, angry, and suffers from BPD. She loves pranks, bugs, arachnids, and salmon. She loves immensely but struggles to express any emotion whatsoever because of her limiters, as her powers are tied around emotions and thus is limited by emotions so she doesn’t idk destroy reality. She HATES being compared to her dad even though they’re a lot alike.

Saiki Kumaruru an excitable Lolita, isn’t necessarily an esper, but a stuffed bear that Akechi had as a child. Touma, mikoto, and Kusuo are all in this kinda poly relationship and touma cared for Kurari. Kurari accidentally manifested Kumaruru as a child, and made herself a friend when she lacked one. So she can go back into bear form at will but that’s it. She’s Kumaruru is protective, caring, fun, talkative, and bubbly. She can eat forever, mostly because she doesn’t have full signals. She’s effectively real now. She’s basically kurari’s idea of if mikoto and touma had a child.

Toritsuka Yūreiko, an overly friendly wa Lolita, is the ‘daughter’ of Toritsuka Reita, who was adopted and just ‘conveniently’ looks like Reita. Having a rough early years, Yūreiko is a medium similarly to Reita, who helped take care of her once her realized her powers. However hers are a lot more violent, as Reita only sees friendly ghosts and some evil spirits, Yūreiko sees true monsters. Violent spirits, angry ghosts, jinn and demons who are hellbent on possessing her and coming into reality. She’s haunted by one spirit in particular, who’s main goal is revenge. The amulet on her wrist prevents possession. She’s a pervert too, to men and women, and cries easily but loves kurari immensely, even if the other barely reciprocates her presence essentially.

Kuboyasu Raijin, an esper with umbrakinesis, and the biological child of Kuboyasu Aren and Kaido Shun. I will NOT elaborate on that. Despite kaido’s stories about his powers, his child actually ended up having them. The ability to manipulate pure shadows, hear them, control them, and make shapes with them. They can hear anything from anywhere and teleport through shadows. As long as there is SOME form of shadow in the room. They’re non-binary, easily going between male and female uniforms. Kuboyasu is a teacher there and most people were too intimidated to say anything. They’re flirty, friendly, but secretly rather shy and flirt to hide that. They’re intelligent, top of the class, and class president. Rather popular in class, though arrogant and a bit obnoxious in how they try to manipulate people as well as their shadows.

A new Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu series has been announced - Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu Haikara! The teaser site for it is here and more info will be announced later on. Kurari Umatani is credited with the original work, Takamatsu is on director duty again, animation production is credited to Studio Deen and production is credited to Kurotamaryou (<- 寮 could mean "dormitory" or "hostel").

To celebrate the news, Tokyo MX and BS TV in Japan are going to be streaming a selection of Boueibu episodes (from LOVE!, LOVE! LOVE! and Happy Kiss, not including the movie or OVA) which they are calling the "LOVE & HAPPY Boueibu Selection". Select your episodes here.

BREAKING LAYTON NEWS!

As you all probably remember, it has already been confirmed that Level-5 will be at the Tokyo Game Show this year, and that we will get updates on Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. After they fed us these crumbs we finally have an actual schedule for what we can expect and when we can expect it!

Here you can see the complete schedule for all of Level-5 presentations during the TGS. It seems like we’ll be getting Layton stuff on three separate occasions, one on the 23th and two on the 24th September! I’ll be going over what we know of each of these presentations so far now, but before I’ll do that, please keep in mind that mistranslations are not unlikely and that you can check out these posts for yourself here, here aaaand here.

With that out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff!

23.09, 12:45 - 13:25 JST:

First up we have something titled: “How to make a memorable mystery game” where it seems like Akihiro Hino, with Kazutaka Kodaka as his guest, will talk about both of their respective games, probably making a deep dive into the behind the scenes part of game making and the process of creating a good mystery game.

Kazatuka Kodaka is known for both the Danganronpa Series and his more recent game Raincode, so it definitely will be interesting to see these two talk about their experiences.

Next up:

24.09, 10:30-11:00 JST:

This one is titled “Professor Layton explanation special”, this time having Fujikawa Q as a guest.

Fujikawa has stated that he is a big fan of the Layton series and wanted to talk about what makes the series so great and why it has a special charm. Interesting here is that it is supposed to be in the form of a quiz in which both the viewers and the visitors can participate so you know I’ll definitely watch that so I can once again proof my completely healthy and normal obsession with these games.

And last but by god not least we have:

“Professor Layton x QuizKnock Puzzle Stage”, featuring two people from QuizKnock, the new group behind the puzzles of this game. These two guests are Kurari P and Masaaki Yamamoto, and like before they once again plan to let both Viewers and visitors participate in here.

But now here’s one last gold nugget of information. Level-5 said that they might release a Video that’s a must see for Layton fans. And if that doesn’t get you at least a little bit excited I don’t know what will.
