Fire Spirit Cookie has butted heads with Wind Archer and Sea Fairy Cookie when it comes to you, he needed you more then they did. Fire Spirit..isn’t exactly that popular with other cookies, so having you as a friend was a godsend to him, that a cookie like you would want to associate with him. It’s something he treasures deeply, but tries to pass it off as him going easy on you. Wind Archer and Sea Fairy Cookie can try all they want, but he’ll be extinguished before he’ll allow you to be pried from him.

2. Stinging Shock - Scorpion Cookie

Lilac Cookie at least doesn’t end cookies right away and gives them a chance to regret their decision to be close to you, Scorpion Cookie…won’t be giving them that luxury. If she deems a cookie too much of a hassle, she’ll just remove them from the equation. By the time the cookie has realized what hit them, it will all be too late as she watches them crumble away…she dabbles in poisons, not cures after all. Some random headcanons from my stex fic Bracelets

Idk if anyone cares but you're getting them anyway

-Other than the two that ended up in the coach's shed coach, Greaseball hasn't lost any of the bracelets Tass has made for her, Dinah just nabs them when she can.

-Dinah has a habit in general of stealing Greaseball-related doodads and hoarding them like a ferret.

-Greaseball was wearing one of Tass's bracelets during the first race she won as a junior racer, which why she counts them as lucky charms.

-Tassita refuses to make Dinah and Greaseball a couples bracelet on the grounds that the color combo would be atrocious (and also Dinah is too good for her). He wouldn't make one for Rusty and Pearl either, but just on the bad color scheme grounds.

-In general, Tass uses a candy stripe pattern for engines, and chevron for coaches. He made kumiho/rope bracelets for the Apollo Vic freights (and Flat-Top's favorite brick) but has used a different pattern for each of the fuel trucks at Troubadour. Greaseball also gets a different pattern every time he makes her one.

-Tass has made two bracelets for Momma - one based on her livery and one representing Rusty and the Fuel trucks (which is why he had Hydra's color on hand in the first place)

-He hasn't made any for Electra or the components yet.

-The Apollo vic trains would rotate who would babysit Tassita and Greaseball based on who was working. Dustin was Tassita's favorite sitter and CB was Greaseball's (he taught them how to play poker and gamble).

-Hydra knows the orange in his bracelet is for Rusty but would tease Tassita about not using the right shade (Tass's paler orange) given the chance.

Kdrama Tropes/Archetypes/Dynamics I'd like to see in BL?

AKA what if Korea just actually made Kdrama's gay

Hum, most Kdrama's (I watch) are pretty much love stories and romances just like BL. It's just that they get longer treatments and better scripts. KBL in its current form, isn't long enough to encompass the true value of its own het genre. Thai BL, which is long enough, rarely has the story structure or production values or aesthetic.

So, it's more that I want the BL romances to be given Kdrama respect in terms of narrative and packaging and length or treatment (money money money). And style. I do love Korea's very fashionable, mannerly, repressed way of pimping romance.

So I lot of my choices have more to do with that, I suppose?

Here's some I'll just throw out:

Historical (serious political or romcom)

Martial Arts / Sports / Teams (olympic hopefuls?)

Fantasy (cultivation/progression)

Suspense (like proper murder investigation)

Super Hero (esk) - special powers

Fictional alt-world (like isikai)

A lot of these are too expensive for BL (either because Thailand who would do it, can't afford it, or Korea doesn't find gay bankable enough) in costumes, setting, cast size, and so forth. A couple are out because of content (neither country would ever do military BL, and Thailand can't do political stuff).

- So in general I tend to flip-flop between being open to trying new dishes and flavors and having the palate of a 7-year-old. There are definitely some foods out there that I know I don’t like and won’t eat but depending on my mood I’m interested in trying new things, hence the entire ‘if I’m feeling adventurous’ tier. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t, kinda just depends.

- As can probably be inferred from the top tier, my two favorite dessert flavors are chocolate and coffee. Espresso is in the ‘pretty aight’ tier because the lack of cream and sweetness could probably throw me off a bit and Dark Cacao is lower for the same reason. Mint Choco is in the ‘feeling adventurous’ tier because I usually don’t like mint but have had desserts that incorporate a nice minty kick to them without being overwhelming. Also I’m one of the few people on planet Earth that actually likes mint chip ice cream.

- I’m neutral to positive on most fruits, aside from a lot of tropical fruits, which I happen to really love (pineapple and mango are my two favorite fruits and yes, I am fully aware I’m a freak). That being said, I’m kinda iffy on whether or not I’d like them baked into a cookie. I like things like blueberry muffins but on a textural level that’s hardly the same, so I don’t really know. Hence why most of the fruit-based Cookies are in either the ‘pretty aight’ or ‘feeling adventurous’ tier. Strawberry Crepe’s in the top tier simply because of the inclusion of cream and waffles because they’re, y’know...a crepe-based cookie.

- Flavor explanations for the first tier: For those who don’t know, it’s been stated that Wizard has ice cream in his dough and his hair and scarf are probably ice cream. I like ice cream. I like cookies. That’s about it. The rest of the Cookies (and donut) are pretty self-explanatory, they’re just flavors or desserts I really like.

- Flavor explanations for the second tier: I’m *fairly* certain that Muscle’s mask and armor are supposed to be chocolate syrup, so I put him in the tier with the notion of him being a chocolatey cookie. Devil is based on soda, and I like soda - that’s about all there is there. As for Kumiho and Cream Unicorn, the former is explicitly stated to be marshmallow based and as for the latter I’m pretty sure they’re based on those weird marshmallow unicorn horn things? I forgot the official name, but hey, marshmallows are cool. Once again, the rest is pretty self-explanatory. Also I know Vampire and Sparkling are coded as being based on alcoholic beverages but it’s never been admitted to because the devs are cowards so they’re just being treated as being based on juice and hey I like juice so why not up there

- Flavor explanations for the third tier: I’m sorry but is there genuinely a fortune cookie out there that doesn’t taste like a slightly sweetened piece of cardboard? Have I just gotten all the worst ones throughout my lifetime?

- Flavor explanations for the fourth tier: Knight seems to be based on white chocolate (I don’t really like white chocolate but eh I’ll eat it), Alchemist is widely known to be based on grapes and considering Princess is of Hollyberrian descent I’m certainly operating with the belief she has a berry-based dough. She’s lower than the rest of the berry-based just because I don’t know what type of berry she’s based on, considering her name doesn’t exactly reveal a whole lot. Also, literally all of the flower-based Cookies are in this tier, and while making this I searched up ‘is <x flower> edible’ on Google for each one of them. Turns out, they are, at least in small doses. Google’s now probably convinced I’m planning on undertaking a flower-devouring rampage soon, but oh well. 

- Flavor explanations for the fifth tier: I know I probably look weird putting Gingerbrave so low on the list but the truth is that I...just don’t like plain gingerbread cookies lmao. Also I don’t like gumballs, hence why both Gumball and Candy Diver are on this tier. I dunno much about beets, don’t really care to find out. Don’t like licorice, that’s why both Licorice and Twizzly Gummy are here. Royal Margarine has to have a shitton of that stuff in his dough for it to be his namesake, and while I do like buttery desserts I definitely don’t like it being the dominant flavor. Everything else is pretty self-explanatory - either savory foods or condiments that don’t really belong in your everyday gingerbread cookie or something just outright inedible.

- Flavor explanations for the sixth tier: Out of all the Cookies in CRK these guys are the only ones who I legitimately don’t know what they would taste like. Angel might be based on angel food cake? Maybe? Which if that were the case I’d probably move them up to the second tier, but I can’t remember it ever being stated or even inferred so they’re just going down here. Milky Way’s probably based on something really obvious and I’m just stupid for thinking she has a mystery flavor but I’m putting her down here because I can’t think of anything she’d be based off of (except star jellies? an in-universe consumable? maybe?).

- Flavor explanations for the seventh tier: It’s...what it says. They’re poisonous. Berries from holly won’t kill you as far as I know, unless you take a pretty big quantity of them - pretty sure they just cause nausea in small doses - but in the other case, I mean...Poison Mushroom. Their name is Poison Mushroom. Also I probably should’ve just made an ‘inedible’ tier list and put some of the guys from the sixth tier like Cotton in there but idk man I don’t want to research if cotton balls can actually kill you if you eat them

top 5 mythical creatures/cryptids

i am less a cryptid person than perhaps i ought to be, but i AM obsessed with mythical creatures so thank you extremely for this one. will include media recs for each bc i’m thinkin about it anyways

1. vampires. obvious but true. versatile, sexy, and always. and please excuse me for this one. a bloody good time. they’re even gay! recs: the invitation (movie), what we do in the shadows (movie and tv), the lost boys (movie), interview with the vampire (tv), tanz der vampire (musical)

2. depictions of death. reapers, death gods, etc etc. objectively fascinating as a lens to how cultures/creators view death. are they relentless? are they gentle? are they frightening? can they be bargained with? i love these funky little dudes. recs: hades (game), bill and ted’s bogus journey (movie), anything terry pratchett that involves death (books)

3. faeries. (please god do not mistake me for a sarah j maas fan.) i love that they’re weird and interesting and have their own rules in traditional lore and i love that they’re cute in modern lore. recs: shadowhunters (tv) does a surprisingly good depiction of fae, and a court of fey and flowers (d&d series) isn’t 100% faerie faeries, but it’s fantastic feywild-but-regency stuff (there are gay people in it! go watch it or any dimension 20 series!)

4. dragons. while i was not a massive dragon kid you gotta respect perhaps the objective goats of creaturedom. who among us has not wanted to sit astride a dragon. also httyd was so formative to me i feel i would be betraying hiccup and toothless to leave dragons off. recs: how to train your dragon (movie), dragon rider (cornelia funke book), the dragon prince (tv), nimona (comic/movie)

5. kitsune/kumiho. this is not bc of naruto, my mom blessedly saved me from that show when i was like 7. this is bc of okami, which you should absolutely play if you’re into like. zelda games and such. you play as a wolf who is also a goddess and the art style is beautiful

Here’s some content for you, this is Iced Coffee Cookie

So I was trying to find some kind of coffee that’s paired with marshmallows (I’ve never drank coffee before and know nothing of it), but the only beverage I know that could be paired with marshmallows is hot chocolate, and we already have that with Cocoa Cookie. My friend suggested Creme Brulee (another suggestion was Tiramisu until I told her that’s already a cookie), and that’s what I was going to go with, but then I wanted to go back to the coffee bit, and I chose Iced Coffee, because coffee and also Kumiho has been associated with the snow, so why not make her iced?

Iced coffee:

I think her design looks good. When starting out, I know I wanted to give her a large ponytail that looks like a fox tail, but with a brown to white gradient like Latte, though the other way. You can’t see it, but the end of Iced Coffee’s ponytail has the same design as the end of Kumiho’s tips. I added the dark streaks at the top later because I thought her hair looked too plain, and also because the ice in iced coffee makes the coffee look darker to me. For her outfit, I wanted it to look more like Kumiho. In the end it didn’t look enough like Latte like what I wanted (I wanted it to be some sort of combination but it ended up just Kumiho), but I rectified that with the colors

So on to Iced Coffee herself, so she’s a sweet lady, but she does always seem a bit mysterious. Her eyes almost never open, and if they do, that’s because you pissed her off. Also if you notice, she has the coffee dilated pupils, since she’s more coffee. I haven’t actually decided what color her eyes are, whether they’re brown, cream or red, but I suppose I can figure that out later

So Iced Coffee is a wizard, though I’m not sure whether she lives in Parfaedia, or she’s traveled somewhere else like the Dark Cacao Kingdom. But also in addition, she’s an absolute powerhouse in the magic department, having both coffee magic and Kumiho’s fox magic. I was thinking that she could summon hordes of fire, but given her name, perhaps her power should be ice based. But regardless, the last thing you want to do is get her angry, because you will regret it

I also like to think she gets along with kids

A venture through the Realms

Chapter 1: The Neanare

Neanare, commonly referred to as fox girls, live in small communities away from large cities. They are seldom seen within a city like Diranis, and usually it is to, in the words of Fradeo Mellys: "indulge in their horrendous, debauched ways and seduce the hapless, the naive and the halfwits, to spirit them away and devour their flesh."

So far the preconceptions. Neanare indeed possess certain characteristics attributed to foxes: they have large, bushy tails and animal ears on top of their head, and tend to be very mischievous. Though to refer to them in such an insulting manner directly would be to court a very bad day.

Mellys is only correct about the fox girls where their appearance and certain race characteristics are concerned. They are an all-female race relying on mating with males of other races to reproduce.

Now, in regards to the real, actual truth, as relayed by someone who has actually met a Neanare in person. They are mischievous and live playing pranks on strangers, though those are almost exclusively meant to confuse them rather than abuse. The latter only happens in cases where the Pranked has earned the ire of the fox girl.

I have been told that Mellys is on a permanent list since the publishing of his book.

The greatest allies of any Neanare in regards to pranking and self defense are their wits and their incredibly powerful magic abilities. However, people who have struck their fancy are spared by their proficiency in illusions.

Neanare court by using their incredible, otherworldly beauty and charm to their advantage. In this case, they much resemble the succubi, with the clear difference that they are less direct. Instead, they utilise speaking in double entendres, close contact and caresses by their tail to attract the attention of their object of desire before luring them to a secluded spot.

Those who may fear being devoured can breathe easier: fox girl society strongly values love in all its forms. Familial, platonic, romantic and erotic love are their core tenets by which they act. Those lured away by a Neanare can, therefore, expect a night of intense passion. The act of leading someone away is considered the invitation; as far as a Neanare is concerned, one accepts if they follow.

Neanare mate for life, though they are known to invite any erstwhile spouses into the relationship, as they consider the act of knowingly stealing a lover away to be abhorrent. Woe betide any who invite the fury of a Neanare: one on the warpath is referred to as a "Kumiho", possibly referring to an ancient ancestor. A Kumiho uses her vast magical potential for destructive purposes, fixated on annihilating the adversary swiftly and mercilessly.

This section was possible thanks to the aid of Maxima, a Neanare who had been nothing but helpful in answering my questions. OC Backstory : Jadeyn (and also C, but he’ll come into play later)

It’s a simple four letter word. A word that expresses a person’s affection, passion, interest, etc.

Jadeyn’s been surrounded by it growing up. They grew up with two loving mothers who loved them as much as they loved each other . And their cousin Zac really likes talking about that kitsune enby they met when they were young.

But at the same time, Jadeyn usually feels like they don’t deserve it…

Even though human’s have made peace with the supernatural, there are still some people who despise it, with some supernatural species being ridiculed more than others. Jadeyn was bullied throughout their younger years due to being an elemental, to be fair most of the insults that were thrown their way were easy to tune out, but one specific insult always stuck to them:

“You don’t deserve to be loved for who you are.”

Jadeyn sadly kept that insult to their heart. They started hiding away from others after hearing it that fateful day. They started keeping to themself more than ever, just doing things on their own.

And then, they enlisted into the Academy to learn more about their spirit’s elements.

Jadeyn like all the other students were separated into small groups of 8-12 people, said groups learn to become a team over the course of their time at the academy and usually have different elements.

Jadeyn managed to get along with their teammates, but most of them had something that they didn’t,

Love

Macy and Iris have been dating for the past 3 years before coming to the Academy, but they aren’t really that over the top with their PDA, so it’s nothing. Zac reunited with Kumiho, who was the kitsune enby he loved talking about when they were young. Zac and Kumiho immediately recognized each other when they met again at the Academy and have been dating ever since, and Jadeyn’s really happy for his cousin

But then there’s Lance and Aaron…

Jadeyn dealt with those two pining over each other for the first few months at the Academy, usually having to basically be a third wheel much to their dismay. And it only got worst when they started dating because it’s just a constant reminder of what those two have that Jadeyn will probably never have

But then again, Jadeyn enjoys spending time with the artsy boy that’s apparently Kumiho’s adopted brother. But it’s not like that feeling’s mutual…

2023 Cookie of the Year: Kingdom Edition

☁️ Heya! I’m sure you got the note my colleague Kit sent you and pinned at the top of the blog. She’ll be working her way into being part of our main contributor panel over the next couple months just as I and Strawberry Crepe Cookie have, which is how we ended up becoming frequent contributors on this blog. How she got into this is a long story, and one for another time. But moving on to the main topic here, it’s time to vote for 2023’s Cookie of the Year! In case you missed it last year like Vanilla Meringue Cookie (Your ACTUAL Editor, who also goes by Meringue) did, here’s how it works:

Every playable Cookie (minus the collaboration Cookies including Sonic, Tails, and BTS) in CRK will be split into a tournament bracket full of 1v1 matchups

In each matchup, pick the one you like more. There WILL be matchups where your vote will force you to choose favorites OVER your favorites.

Finalists will receive special prizes of all kinds which we don’t know yet!

Everyone might receive different matchups.
