Yayori Yamazaki

Canon Elimination: Rejection

Bio: Yayori is the childhood friend of Horuda, and in the past she "betrayed" her by not sticking up for and protecting Horuda. They grew apart due to this, and Yayori deeply regrets this, and mourns their past friendship. She is now trying to rekindle their friendship, and earn forgiveness.

Status: She still attends Akademi, but after having her feelings rejected, she has become even more depressed, and her grades have started to slip.

Seven:

Kazu Kudo

Canon Elimination: Expulsion

Kazu is the former leader of the Photography Club. She was suspended for seven weeks due to violently attacking other students, and is on her last leg at the school. She gave the club leadership to Fureddo Jonzu, and hasn't since asked for it back. She is an overall violent and aggressive person, who suspects [Akimi] of being behind the recent happenings of the disappearances, suicide, and expulsions. She is determined to prove this and expose her.

Status: expelled and her parents moved towns to give her a fresh start.

Kiyoka is so BEAUTIFUL.

Yurie is the best, the first day meeting Miyo and she liked her right way because she was considerate and helpful. Also, Yurie decided she is the one at the third day of meeting her.

Hahaha, Yurie scolded Kiyoka for the poison accusation

The kudou family outranked the majority of gifs user families, they have a court rank and vast tracks of land.

Kiyoka pretending that the comb wasn’t a marriage proposal was funny, also it was a very private moment as Yurie wasn’t there when it happened unlike the anime that put Yurie there.

Kouji couldn’t hold a candle to Kiyoka as a gift user or as a man and no amount of effort on his part would ever change that. (sadly, he is such a coward)

Kaya could have been a charismatic lady, but her parents ruined her. The fact that Kiyoka feels sorry for her is a testament of his good heart.

Keiko knows how to point out true beauty.

Kiyoka hadn’t even had a lover.

Hana saying that Kiyoka has a heart of gold is so TRUE.

Despite wanting to help Miyo, Kiyoka was unsure of himself. (he is so PRECIOUS)

The Saimoris starved Miyo they deserve the worst.

Akechi Goro despises her hair.

She despises the way it tangles and pools around her neck in showers, the way she has to spend, frankly, a despicable amount of money and hair products to ensure it shines and is smooth the way it is, the way it messily falls over her forehead to the point where she had to start using headbands to keep it back, because Shido would never let her cut her bangs. It’ll ruin her polite detective princess image, she inferred from the time she brought up cutting her bangs to him. She despises how men like to coo over her and comb her hair with their disgusting fingers during Shido’s gathering parties of rich, snobbish and powerful men, but it’s okay. Her fire keeps burning, and she’ll enjoy putting a bullet through their Shadow’s brains when the time arises.

(Goro thinks she would cut her hair into a short bob if she had the choice. It would be a nice three-day scandal across tabloid papers and headlines on social media, and then she’ll put a hole through Shido’s head and jump off a building somewhere. The headlines would continue, in a few months she’ll be the topic of a true crime podcast, and soon the only things that the public remembers are her unfortunate suicide and her wide, wide smile.)

Not everyone is reborn exactly (Touya & Sako didn’t die yet here). Also the reincarnated don’t have any memories of their past lives.

I wasn’t sure on the color scheme of everyone yet. 😅

Jin & Toga are reborn as siblings. Genji and Haruka. Genji can change people’s appearances & make them look identical to other people but if damaged it can melt off like Twice’s clones. Haruka can change people’s blood type depending on her mood.

Yoichi and Kudo are dating. They go by Yoite & Juuzou and are in Kotetsu’s business class.

Bruce works in UA as a very essential maintenance worker/sub. His name is Wayne. He usually tries to avoid Yoite & Juuzou.

Yagi and his mom get a second chance at life. The boy is now called Haji.

Spinner dies in his 60s but is reborn as his youngest grandchild, Iggy. Iggy is part of a rich family b/c of Spinner’s books.

Hana and Tenko are siblings again. Kana is about 7yrs older than Hibiki. Kana is Kotetsu’s girlfriend and can slap things into floating away.

Hibiki is best friends with Iggy and is always texting him or playing online together. The siblings get to go on family trips with the Iguchis.

Shirakumo is reincarnated as the grandson of Moe & Rumi. He’s rivals with Kotetsu b/c both want to be class rep. He spins into a flaming wheel almost reminiscent of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Shinomori, Banjo and En are a family. Shino, Dante and Enzo. Enzo is also in Ko’s class. His dads are Deku fanboys. Enzo and Kana mock Juuzou for being the only Dynamight fan of their group.

Kotetsu is the spitting image of Touya but it’s just the Himura genetics. He’s the son of Geten & Malu (making them old parents and he’s Star & Bumi’s younger brother). He’s initially thought as quirkless until his nephew Ichigo accidentally put him in a life threatening situation. Ko can freeze metal to the point it shatters into small pieces as soft/lightweight as snowflakes. (Ko himself is still oblivious to this).

Magne is reborn as Sato’s granddaughter, Maggie. She has a crush on Ko (he helps out in Nejire’s daycare center when Kana can’t). Maggie can emit a repulsing force that pushes people away certain distances depending on what she eats.

Mr. Compress and Ragdoll had a grandson that kinda looks like him. The kids just refer to him as Sako. He is quiet and stares off into space. His quirk makes things you’re looking for disappear (can be invisible in front of you or in a diff location).

This family is everywhere! The two blondes are Ichigo and Kira. They’re cousins and first years at UA while their uncle Kotetsu and his friends are on their last year there.

Kira’s uncle (Yao Kaminari’s lil bro) is Bumi’s sidekick Doc Hack. Kira interns for them while Ichigo acts as an anti hero at Villains for Hire, an agency run by Giran’s grandson, Bumi’s ex, Wyatt Okuta/Riot. Ichigo does this to mess with his mom (Spitfire/ Bumi). The entire family believes Ichigo to be quirk-less (except Kira who’s in on his secret). Ichigo’s alter-ego is Fennec and his quirk is flame whips.

i definitely do on tumblr! it's one of the first things i do when i wake up actually. on ao3, though...i'm pretty sure i have about eight hundred unanswered comments sitting in my inbox 💀 it's an ongoing issue

6. what’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

i'm almost sure it's this post-game show lance leaving fic, because i got comments and asks for weeks begging me to write a happy ending lol. but this fic from the hana universe, from when keith is little and shiro is fighting for custody and they haven't figured things out yet. that one is sad. this dream pov adashi fic is also sad and has no happy ending bc, you know. shiro is in space and adam thinks he's dead and everything. my loneliest series is also still in progress and as such there is no happy ending. and this is my earliest angsty-ending fic with MCD

7. what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

oh god pretty much everything i write has a happy ending?? if i’m being serious?? frankly i don’t do a lot of linear plot. i just write Scenes that are vaguely connected. BUT my h2o fic had a plot that ended happily, as did my cowboy fic, but truly i’m more of a slice of life kinda gal. all my active wips are plot-driven, though, and i plan for all of them to end happily.

8. do you get hate on fics?

oh god yeah. i get it on brown eyed lance, autistic lance, adhd keith, allura just in general (are you sensing a pattern), my refusal to use readmores, and lately just some demands for me to write differently/more?? most of it is just funny so i post it to goof on it lol, but some of it i just delete and pout about until i forget about it 💀

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

yes and it’s nasty and i will literally never ever post it. although i guess i’ve written some softer stuff that’s more allusion than anything, like in my loneliest series.

10. do you write crossovers? what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

not anymore, but i did when i was a kid?? i think i wrote a pjo/hoo/divergent/the mortal instruments/homestuck/a bunch of other shit fic when i was 13. i’ve successfully blocked that era out of my mind tho so i’m not sure. i do a lot of insane aus, tho. i wrote a fic based off a country song written in the sixties. so.

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

i’ve had people write continuations of my wips?? which i didn’t rly like. i just ignored it.

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

someone has asked me about translating a fic before! haven’t heard anything since tho.

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

i have tried. i’m not very good at it. i have very Specific ideas about things and can be very controlling, so it’s honestly better that i don’t lol.

klance, easy. been in the trenches of this goddamn fandom since i was 13 years of age. it’s been a Journey.

15. what’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

god, the butterfly effect. i get people asking me to update all the time and i genuinely feel bad, because i have absolutely no ideas or plans for it. i might try to come up with an ending of some kind?? but i wrote that like two years ago, so i have changed a LOT about my writing since then.

16. what are your writing strengths?

dialogue and humour, i think. and sometimes writing lack of emotional communication (if that makes sense — i like to try and write around an emotion).

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

i over explain a lot. and i overuse dialog ur tags sometimes. i have a Very Specific scene playing out in my head and i want everyone else to see it like i’m seeing it, which is my downfall a lot. i’ve been trying to work on implicit stage directions.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i think sometimes it’s necessary? it can be a good tool for humour, like with cussing that can’t be achieved in english. but while i understand and read several languages i have always always struggled to speak or write in them. it’s very frustrating so i often avoid the subject entirely lol.

19. first fandom you wrote for?

i’ve been writing fanfic in my head since before i knew what it was, but i started typing things at around 11 when i used to homestuck roleplay with my friends lol. messy messy times.

20. favorite fic you’ve ever written?

oh i am my own target audience. i have several.

i need a man (who’s patient and kind): keith-centric post canon (divergence) fic where lance takes him to his family and keith is good with kids and just keith being loved is the whole point. always.

what if i lose it all: an alternate universe where lance, as a baby, loses both his parents, and then is raised by his oldest siblings. in luis’ pov.

when does a ripple become a tidal wave (when does the reason become the flame): brogane fight & angst canon divergence post season 6; covering shiro’s guilt complex and keith’s unwavering loyalty

he’s into superstitions (black cats and voodoo dolls): halloween verse with witch lance and vampire keith! i have barely spoken about this au on here but rest assured i’m thinking about it all the fucking time

the applebee’s universe: modern au with young keith and lance learning how to love each other

so this is a discworld story, and in discworld stories are sort of parasitic life forms that like to happen over and over. they can be harnessed, with enough magic. this is what’s happening to ella saturday, who is playing the parts of both cinderella and the frog princess. her evil fairy godmother (you get two, an evil one and a good one, though her evil one is under the impression that she’s the good one) has taken over the city, and is forcing everyone into fairytale roles under the threat of execution if they’re not quite archetypal enough. she thinks this will make people happy. ella, on account of being the dead  barons daughter, has gotten the role of princess. so she’s being kept in a house with two snakes who have been turned into human women, and is being forced to go to the ball, where she is expected to dance with the duc, who is a frog turned into a human, and kiss him to solidify the spell. she very much does not want to do any of this, but fortunately she’s got that other fairy godmother! who is brand new, on account of the last one died, and has no idea what she’s doing. but it all turns out ok in the end, and the stories stop (for a given value) and she’s the baroness now a they all live, if not happily or ever after, then normally, and for a time

Miyo:

Her story is a classic twist on the Cinderella tale. (spoilers ahead) Miyo grows up in an abusive household. Her father neglected her. Her stepmother and half-sister constantly belittled, berated, abused, and stole from her. She was raised as a servant girl for years following the death of her mother. Everything changes when she is put into an arranged marriage with the prince-like character, Kiyoka Kudo. And slowly, over time, she grows more confident and learns who she is, what she wants, and falls in love. She has multiple fairy-godmother type confidants in Kudo's maid Yurie, a former maid from her old home Hana, and even Kudo's sister Hazuki. ⚠️Manga spoilers ahead⚠️

I love that the anime decided to show Koko less snarky and sweeter when talking with Inupi (kudos to Natsuki Hanae, Koko’s seiyuu, and the anime directors of course) especially since we manga readers now have context about their relationship.

While reading the manga while it was published weekly,  Wakui on one hand probably wanted to make the readers understand there was something going on with InuKoko, hinting about their infamous “promise”, making Inupi ask Koko twice in less than 24 hours (in universe) what Koko wanted to do and getting twice the same answer: “I’m sticking with you”.

On the other, he probably didn’t want to show too much, letting thing ambiguous. After all,  at this point in the story, people really have no reason to be super connected to Koko and Inupi, they’re just the “mini bosses” and antagonists of this arc and besides the more gentle interactions between each other and maybe Inupi’s consideration of Chifuyu’s strengh (showing he respects him as an opponent) we don’t really see the real them and their positive sides; sure after the episode we have some more context on Inupi’s past, his desire to recreate the BLACK DRAGON, but we still don’t know why. Because he was promised the leadership before going to reform school when the previous gen was destroyed? We learn later that’s not exactly the case, reasons are deeper.  

This arc is a prelude to their second and more emotionally intense flashback that we will see in Tenjiku. The incredible thing about Inupi and Koko is that, while they’re not the protagonist, they acquire importance in time, but their subplot, while tangles in the main plot through Inupi’s bonds to the first generation of BLACK DRAGON, is just theirs.

The “resolution” (which is really the first step to rebuild their relationship, but at still they got that and, considering how badly many characters have been treated in the last arc, in retrospective, is way more than I could have expected) is in the last arc of the manga and, considering how I dislike the reset that, if we consider the final timeline, undoes all the character development we have, giving us people we don’t know nothing about,  it’s still a kind of satisfying resolution, if we consider the TL we follow in the past and the characters we know. 

Sure, I still believe Wakui could have being bolder about their relationship, which is heavy implied to be romantic other than very tormented (and that’s why it’s interesting), but probably given the mainstream success of the manga, that wasn’t possible in order not to make people lose their shit (and Kodansha its money ofc)

But back to the anime depiction, now manga readers know and care for Koko and Inupi, know their past, why the acted the way they did, and why they had those façades in the BD arc. 

It’s a good directing decision to let us see better and sooner their gentler side when they interact with each other, especially Koko’s (his little run to reach Inupi is so cute💛)

Both these characters have been deeply misunderstood while the manga was published and they still are, but with the whole context, I see things are slowly getting better. That said, everyone is entitled to their opinions, many things are still ambiguous but other things have been clarified.
