Miyo's first love language is certainly acts of service: he isn't good with words, he has no money with which he can buy you gifts, unfortunately he can't dedicate much time to you and he's too embarrassed to give you physical affection, so, when you two decided to be together, he decided he would do everything to be useful to you

Neither you nor Miyo use nicknames: you're both too shy. Typically you two use your names with the suffix -san, and he'll blush and not know how to react if you call him without the suffix

K. Kiyoka

After Kiyoka's sweet confession speech, you blushed heavily and remained silent for a few seconds; then, you approached and hugged him, hiding your face in his chest to prevent him from seeing your blush, and whispered: "Kudou-san, I… I want... to be... with you... and... I'll try to talk to you more..."

As your boyfriend, Kiyoka always tries to get you to talk more and to open up more to him. T. Kazushi

After confessing to you, Kazushi wasn't embarrassed at all, you were the one flushed and speechless; due to your embarrassment, you ran away, but the next day you returned to him, responding to his confession: "Kazushi-san, I... I love you too..."

Even as your boyfriend, Kazushi continues to tease you in search of your reaction: he gives you nicknames that embarrass you, a lot of physical affection, which always makes you blush... Once he even discreetly tripped you and then caught you when you fell ("We certainly don't want to ruin your beautiful face...")!

There's no date Kazushi prefers more: for him it's enough to be with you, since he's happy you're overcoming your shyness by being with him

I think Kazushi's first love language is physical touch: he loves a lot to hug, cuddle and kiss you, especially because he loves seeing your red and embarrassed face and you trying not to faint because of his attentions

Kazushi's favorite nickname to use for you is "tsuma": he mostly uses it to embarrass you, and he calls you that with a sly smile on his face; however, if you called him "otto" (husband), he would widen his eyes and blush slightly

U. Arata

After you both confessed, you were inexplicably calm, since you had freed yourself from your feelings, but Arata was much more embarrassed than you: it took all his self-control not to become the equivalent of a walking tomato

Arata takes his role and task as your boyfriend very seriously: for him, he must protect you, make you happy and prevent you from being sad, and to do this he must make you talk to him more. In fact, he always tries to give you stimuli to make you talk more and overcome your shyness

Arata is an individual who prefers to spend his time with you at home, since his family prefers to stay hidden. He doesn't care what you do, but he's happy if you talk to him, even for a little while, because you show a sort of trust in him

Arata's first love language is certainly words of affirmation: with his sweet voice, he compliments you every time you show more confidence or improve in your approach towards others; even his reproaches are sweet and full of compliments, which he tells you unconsciously

Before he was your boyfriend, Arata only called you by your first name, but then he started calling you mostly "my dear", because it's a nickname that's comfortable for him to use and not too embarrassing for you to listen

My Happy Marriage Second Season Episode 4 Review - Female Stigma

With Miyo’s self-declared daddy Naoshi Usui making his mark as the new antagonist of the season, this makes it so that Miyo and Arata become involved with the military, which is interesting because this means that Miyo will be more involved with the plot and with her husband’s workplace instead of staying home like she usually does.

Introducing Kaoruko to the story makes for an interesting premise. She’s the only female officer in the military and the stigma towards female officers is very rampant. While this is a fictional version of a blended Meiji and Taisho era, sexism was highly rampant during those eras. She is very capable, yet her male coworkers think otherwise, which is why she has to prove herself like beating a man in a sparring match. Her moments with Miyo were cute though. It’s nice to see Miyo finally having a female friend who’s not a family member. Though, with Godou’s reaction about her towards the end, I’m assuming she’s either gay or used to be Kiyoka’s fiancee.

Miyo also gets her fair share of sexism in the office too with some male officers not being friendly towards her presence. Mukadeyama, I think that’s his name, also says his fair share of sexist BS like how the officers don’t like having the presence of women around. Not only that, he’s also wary of Miyo’s powers as an Usuba as her powers are essentially the antithesis of ability-users. Despite that, he does respect Kaoruko as someone who has to work hard to gain respect of others, but it’s still a long way for her to be respected as both a woman and a person.

There’s also some insight with Naoshi via Miyo’s grandpa who seems to know him the best. He was an odd child who had strong powers that he was an outcast. The only person he was attached to was Sumi, Miyo’s mom. I’m assuming that his attachment to Sumi was the reason why he calls himself Miyo’s father, just so he has something to remember Sumi by. Because there’s definitely no way he’s the biological father of Miyo—My Happy Marriage would be a totally different story because Miyo wouldn’t be Miyo if she wasn’t related to Sumi and Mr. Saimori. I’m really curious to see his intents with Miyo.

Godou is not dead, fortunately. He gets a nice moment in the hospital with Kazushi that looks like they’re flirting. He has to be hospitalized for two months. I do like that he’s eager on the idea of being Miyo’s bodyguard because he knows how nice she is—in fact, he’s probably one of the few male military officials who respect women given how the others reacted in this episode. Though, I do wonder why Kazushi is visiting Godou. Will he play some sort of role later on?

Kaoruko is voiced by Haruka Tomatsu. You might know her as Asuna Yuuki from SAO and Hori from Horimiya. Given that this anime is filled with big names, I honestly can’t wait to see how Tomatsu will do in this season. I haven’t heard her in an anime for a while and I think she’s talented, so I’m anticipating her acting. In English, she’s voiced by Kayley Stallings, who is a name I’m not familiar with. Speaking of big names, Mukadeyama is voiced by Tomoaki Maeno. Young Sumi is voiced by Miyuri Shimabukuro and young Naoshi is voiced by Shiki Aoki, who is a name I’m not too familiar with.

The episode is definitely a buildup for what’s to come. I’m just worried when the plot will start to take action. What is Kaoruko’s deal and when will Naoshi make his move? What are your thoughts on this episode?

Art comparison! A lot of anime characters have similarly-shaped faces. So I wanted to figure out what makes Takaihito look so unusual. These 2 pictures of Kazushi and Takaihito were only a few pages apart, and they're posed similarly, so it makes a good and easy comparison.

Takahaito is described has having pure white skin and bright red lips.

I could tell this even before reading it. I think the secret lies not in the shading of the face, but in the lines.

Takaihito is always drawn with heavy, bold, black lines. Even his eyelids are darker than those of other characters. Most other characters do not have such strong, dark outlines.

Takaihito's eyes and lips are filled in almost completely with black.

Many male characters have mouths drawn in a simple, thin line, but Takaihito's mouth has a clear lower lip that is very dark, and no shadow on his chin. The eyebrows are also very dark and very small.

I also feel like his eyes are not just narrower, but also longer (side-to-side, that is) than other characters. The angles at the corners of the eyes are also more pronounced than in other characters.

So I feel like the artist made full use of some very subtle design choices, things that might each go unnoticed on their own, such as darker lines or the lack of a chin shadow, and put them all together to make Takaihito stand out.

It says the art is by Rito Kohsaka and the the character designer was Tsukiho Tsukioka. Brilliant design choices and artistry, thanks to both of you.

Nevertheless, as soon as he realizes he has exaggerated, he immediately stops teasing you and apologizes: for instance, one day he almost brought you to tears, but you weren't able to tell him, so you ran away; he then followed you and, when he found you sitting on the engawa of your house while you hugged your knees with tears in your eyes, he knelt in front of you, stroking your hair and apologizing

He's very touched by your kindness: when you do nice things for him, on the outside he behaves normally, but on the inside he's screaming and, every now and then, he has to hide his slight blush with his fan
