can't believe we spent 5 years imagining Lena's mom and fancasting her with different actresses and there were always some amazing choices that would make sense and all that for the CW to be just like "you know what? Let's put Katie in a cheap wig, use a sepia filter, use KT's middle name and let's call it a day!"

LOL for real. A story they've been building up to since S4, lots of time to prepare and even allocate money to casting an actress not named Katie McGrath ... and this was the end result.

I looked at the Arrowverse fan wiki and there's a pretty detailed entry about Elizabeth Walsh already. It says she died in 1997. That can't be right, can it? I thought I heard one of the townsfolk say "33 years" in last night's episode.
