@andiesmu / hadley meeks
They’d been in this position so many times before. Almost too many, in fact. To the point where the trip to the fertility clinic and back was unfairly familiar, though Kristy drove home just as cautiously as she had the very first time. “How are you feeling, darling? Still okay?” She questioned, glancing over toward her wife in the passenger seat once they’d paused at a red light. Kristy reached out her hand to settle it on top of Hadley’s, giving it a soft squeeze, before going back to the wheel. “Do you want to call my sister and ask if we can come pick the kids up in a few hours so you can go home and get a little rest first? I’m sure she and Jessica won’t mind, and Rain and Brad will just be excited to spend more time with Caroline.”

TEARING LOVE APART ➝ KRISLEY.
TAGGING ➝ Hadley Meeks, Kristy Meeks.
LOCATION ➝ Hadley & Kristy’s house.
TIME FRAME ➝ 4/30, early afternoon.
WARNINGS ➝ Broken family (probably a weird warning but honestly it’s a really upsetting thread).
NOTES ➝ Hadley and Kristy get an unexpected visit from a lawyer and a social worker, and effectively have to say goodbye to Evie.
HADLEY MEEKS
So far, things had just been absolutely perfect. They had a baby, and were in the process of adopting two other children that they absolutely loved, there wasn’t a single thing that could bring them down, or so Hadley assumed. There had been a lot of visitors in and out this week, so Hadley wasn’t too surprised to hear the doorbell. She left Brad and Rain from where they were laying on the floor and coloring to answer. “Oh, Barbra!” She said happily, recognizing the lawyer that had overseen the signing and filing of Evie’s adoption paperwork. “How are you? Would you like to come in?” She said, stepping aside and then calling out to her wife, “Kristy! Barbra is here!” She ushered the woman, along with another she didn’t know into the kitchen to find her wife. ”Hadley, Kristy. I’m afraid I’m not here under the best circumstances,” Barbra said, making Hadley’s face grow concerned. ”As you know, there’s a clause in all adoptions, that the birth parents have a certain amount of time to change their mind. Emi has changed her mind. She’d like to raise Evie.”
KRISTY MEEKS
There wasn’t one single part of being a mother that Kristy didn’t absolutely adore. Whether she was changing a gross diaper or walking around like a zombie in the middle of the night, trying to soothe their screaming baby to sleep, she had no complaints, because this was what she and Hadley were supposed to do. They were supposed to be mothers, and Evie, along with her two soon-to-be older siblings, had truly completed their family. The house was a little more chaotic than usual while they adjusted to the change, but Kristy had just finished putting Evie down for a nap when she’d heard Hadley calling out to her. She grabbed the baby monitor, then made her way happily downstairs to greet their visitor. Or visitors, she noticed quickly. “Hello!” She chirped, as they met in the kitchen, offering Barbra and the other lady a bright smile in spite of her exhaustion. “I just put Evie down for a nap, she’s very tired. It’s such hard work being a baby,” she teased, though it became obvious quickly that the lawyer was not in any joking mood, and Kristy soon grew concerned. Her heart fell as Barbra explained the situation. “What?” She questioned, tone sounding as though she’d just been physically winded. She didn’t know what to say. What could she say? She looked up at her wife, mouth hanging open, but nothing came out.
HADLEY MEEKS
Hadley found herself reaching for her wife’s hand as she heard Barbra speak. “What do you mean?” She asked, her eyes never leaving the visitor turned intruder in their kitchen. “Sh-She can’t just change her mind.” Logically, Hadley knew that she could do just that,  but she couldn’t bring herself to believe it. “I mean, maybe we could talk to Emi? If she wants to be a part of Evie’s life we’d be open to that, but-“ Barbra cur Hadley off quickly, ”I’m sorry, I really am. This happens sometimes. It’s rare but it happens. Emi has chosen not to be here, and doesn’t want to be contacted. She’s changed her mind, and she has every legal right to do so. I’m afraid there’s nothing to be done. This is Claudia, she’s a social worker, she’s here to help with the transition. She’ll transport Evie back to her mother.” It was one bunch to the gut after another. How could they be standing in their kitchen, happy as can be one second, and losing another child in the next. Hot tears streamed out of Hadley’s eyes and she squeezed her wife’s hand. She wondered if she should pinch herself and try to wake up from the nightmare that was playing out before them.
KRISTY MEEKS
Emi had seemed so sure about this decision before, so much so that Kristy hadn’t even worried about her changing her mind. Not even in the hospital when they’d gone to meet their daughter; Emi had seemed entirely disinterested. So this was a real shock to the system, and Kristy had no idea how to even string a sentence together as she tried to digest everything. Her mouth felt dry, probably because all of the moisture was in her eyes and had begun to spill over her lids as she listened to Barbra’s words. “You can’t just…” She trailed off, shaking her head. She held onto Hadley’s hand, gripping tightly to the baby monitor with the other, almost like she could somehow keep ahold of their daughter. She usually had much more dignity than this, but she really didn’t care about holding it together right now. “Please don’t take our daughter,” she begged, tears streaming down her face. The way they were talking, it seemed like they wanted to take Evie now. Realistically, she knew they did. “It’s not a transition. You’re taking our child away, that’s not something we can transition into. Evie knows us, we're her mothers. There has to be something we can do, some way we can appeal this decision.”
HADLEY MEEKS
”I know this must be difficult, but there is nothing to be done. It’s a law in place to protect birth parents, and any court will side with the birth mother even if there was a way to appeal. This isn’t easy, and we don’t want to rush things. We want you to have time to say goodbye to Evie, but we need it to be peaceful so that we don’t have to involve the police. Please don’t make it harder than it has to be on Evie, yourselves, or Brad and Rain in the other room.” Hadley couldn’t understand the cold in the other woman’s voice. She knew she had a job to do but she was ripping their child away from them. Hadley turned to wrap her arms around Kristy. She didn’t know what else to do but try to hold her wife. “Kristy it will be okay,” she whispered, “Emi obviously loved Evie, too. She’ll be okay.”
KRISTY MEEKS
Kristy knew they were fighting a losing battle here. She knew that, at the end of the day, Emi had been the person to have given birth to Evie, she had her own parental rights. It didn’t make the news any easier to swallow, though. Minutes earlier, she’d been rocking the baby to sleep, and now here she was, crying into her wife’s shirt as they prepared to have her taken from them for good. The last thing she was trying to do was upset Brad and Rain, so she was trying to keep her volume down, trying to compose herself, but this just wasn’t something she and Hadley had been prepared for. Finally straightening up, she tried her hardest to make her voice sound stronger. “When are you taking her?” She questioned, a certain amount of attitude creeping into her voice. It was very much unlike Kristy to take a tone with anybody, but this wasn’t a normal situation, and Barbra and her companion were acting heartlessly, whether they were doing their job or not. “My wife and I have two other children to think about as well, we would prefer their sister wasn’t taken in front of them. We need to make arrangements for them to be out of the house. We will not have our children forced to watch their family be ripped apart.”
HADLEY MEEKS
Barbra's own face was sad as she watched the two, but it didn't matter, she was still the woman taking their child from them. "In normal circumstances, we're supposed to take the child right away. However, considering the other children in the home, we can come back in a few hours, but that's as long as we can give you, unfortunately." Hadley felt the sob that came out of her before she heard it at those words. How could they be getting the news that they had just a few hours left with their daughter? It was impossible. "A few hours?" She repeated, her voice a bit high as her tears grew stronger. "It's not in anyone's interest to prolong things."
KRISTY MEEKS
Kristy had broken down, and she was sure that later, when Evie was gone, she’d be a sobbing, heartbroken mess once more, but she wanted to be strong for her wife now. She protectively placed her hand on the small of Hadley’s back, fingertips rubbing soothingly against it. She bit back her own sob as she heard Barbra’s response. “Could we get a specific time? We don’t need another surprise like this. We want to be prepared. Or as prepared as we possibly can be.” Barbra seemed to confer with the social worker for a moment, before turning back to them. “It’s just after one now, we can come back around four. Unfortunately, any later would really be violating proper practice.”
HADLEY MEEKS
"Please leave," Hadley said after Barbra had given them a time, motioning towards the door. "We need to prepare Evie's things, and give Brad and Rain some time to say goodbye to her before we have someone come and pick them up." Her own voice was cold now, wanting the two women out of their home as soon as possible. Hadley wrapped her arm around her wife's waist, holding on tightly to her and she wasn't sure if t was to hold her wife up, or herself, but she knew they'd both need each other right now.

LOCATION: Hadley and Kristy’s house.
DATE & TIME: 3/3, evening.
OPEN TO: @andiesmu
It was no secret that both Kristy and her wife were total bleeding hearts where children were concerned, so she had no doubts that Hadley would be absolutely fine with the idea of them watching over Addie’s younger siblings for her. They both knew the situation between Addie and Regan, and both would do anything they could to help. Kristy had always been an incredibly warm, friendly person, so she greeted the children as if they weren’t complete strangers, and hoped they felt comfortable with her right away. It seemed they did; they got into the car with her, at least. Both talked to her the whole ride from Addie’s home to her own, with Kristy showing interest in all of their talk about school and the shows they’d been watching. It was nice.
Thanks to Kristy’s vlog, they had plenty of toys around the house for the kids to play with. They were usually props for videos, but they tended to babysit for most of their friends who had children, so they got played with plenty. Both children were perfectly content with their juice boxes and their toys, so when Kristy heard the door opening, she went to greet her wife, knowing both Rain and Brad were fine on their own for just a moment. “Welcome home, baby,” she grinned, leaning up on her tiptoes to greet her wife with a small kiss. She took the pizza from her, her free hand taking Hadley’s in her own as she ushered her through to the living room where the kids were playing. “Just wait until you meet them, they’re so adorable.”
They made their way into the room, and both children greeted them with bright smiles. “Kids, this is my wife, Hadley,” she explained, turning to smile up at the other woman, “These are Addie’s brother and sister. This is Rain,” she motioned to the older of the two, then glanced up at Hadley again, “And Brad. Short for Brad Lee.”

LOCATION: Hadley & Kristy’s home.
DATE & TIME: 2/18, afternoon.
OPEN TO: @andiesmu
It would be easy for people to assume Kristy’s job wasn’t really a ‘job’ at all. Her followers and subscribers would see the videos she’d upload, but they wouldn’t see the work that went into being a content creator. They didn’t see the long hours or planning and editing, or the desperate attempts for her to come up with something new and exciting for each new upload. So, when she got to do live streams, she always kind of felt like the pressure was off a little bit, because her viewers could see exactly what she was doing. Authentically, and with no editing. It was nice, and Kristy was a confident enough person that it was relaxing for her, so as she sat at the kitchen counter with her laptop in front of her, hitting broadcast on the Facebook Live window, a bright grin eased onto her lips as she addressed her followers.
It was difficult to read all of the comments and requests that would come up whenever she was recording, but a recurring theme was always people asking about she and her wife. They really seemed to love their love, and Kristy admittedly loved that, too. “I hear her, if you guys want to say hi to her,” Kristy beamed to the camera, a bunch of live comments popping up, telling her they wanted to see her wife. Leaning back, Kristy glanced over at the kitchen door. “Hads, everybody wants to see you!” She called, holding out her hand in preparation for her wife entering the room. “Come grab a chair, people have questions for us.”

IRREPLACEABLE ➝ KRISLEY.
TAGGING ➝ Hadley Meeks, Kristy Meeks.
LOCATION ➝ Hadley & Kristy’s bedroom.
TIME FRAME ➝ 5/3, around 4 am.
WARNINGS ➝ None.
NOTES ➝ Hadley can’t sleep, Kristy wakes up and they make a big decision.
HADLEY MEEKS
To say that the last few nights had been difficult would be a massive understatement. They’d been unbearable. Hadley and Kristy had had two wonderful weeks with their baby girl, before she had been taken away. Her wife and Brad and Rain were really the only things keeping Hadley going right now. But everything about having a new born just seemed so right, and she couldn’t shake away the feeling that that was how things were meant to be. Maybe it was just grief but she kept having dreams about being pregnant, about her and her wife raising a baby, and it was all she could think about. She’d woken up and couldn’t stay in bed any longer. Instead she found herself pacing around the room, the idea of another round of IVF floating in her mind. She’d stuck to her hormone regiment through all of this, because they hadn’t made a decision on what to do with their remaining eggs yet, so it was possible, she just didn’t know how smart it was, if getting their hopes up again and losing it all again was something either of them could take.
KRISTY MEEKS
How things had gone from so perfect to so terrible would’ve been a mystery to Kristy, except she’d begun to come to terms with the idea that she was just some kind of jinx. She and her wife had never had any luck with babies, and just when they seemed to have broken the pattern, they’d had everything taken away from them. It was like the death of another baby for them, it brought up memories of Bradley. Except they didn’t even get to have a real send off for Evie, she was just gone. Continuing on was important, however, because she and Hadley were mothers to Brad and Rain now, too. They had to keep going for them, and for each other, which was perhaps the only reason Kristy had managed to fall asleep tonight; she needed to be alert and present for her children tomorrow. The sound of footsteps, however, tore her from a dreamless sleep, and Kristy glanced over to see her wife pacing the room. “Hadley,” she sighed softly, sitting up in their bed. She reached over to turn on the bedside lamp. “Sweetheart, what are you doing? Come back to bed.”
HADLEY MEEKS
Hadley sighed as she heard her wife behind her, she hadn’t wanted to wake her. She turned to look at her as the light was switched on and smiled sadly at her. “I can’t sleep, I just keep thinking about everything.” She said, perching herself on the bed next to her wife. “I think we should try IVF again. I know that our odds are low, and I know we’ve had so much pain lately, but I think we should. Nothing can replace Bradley or Evie, but I just have this feeling in my gut that we need to try again.”
KRISTY MEEKS
“I understand,” Kristy sighed softly, moving over to sit beside her wife once she’d perched down on the bed. They had a lot going on, clearing their minds really wasn’t easy. She reached out to place her hand gently over the top of Hadley’s, her fingers easily lacing with the other woman’s. The idea wasn’t entirely crazy, but they really had suffered so much loss, the thought that they could potentially have to go through it all again was a lot. She didn’t know how to respond at first, and instead pressed a comforting kiss to her wife’s shoulder, thinking for a moment. “You know that it might not work again, right?” She questioned, looking up at her. “But if you’d like to try one more time, then I’m of course onboard.” Kristy paused, pressing another small kiss to Hadley’s shoulder, her voice softening. “I think we should make this the last time, though. We have our children to think about now, too. We can’t put them through anymore loss, they already lost Evie just like we did.”
HADLEY MEEKS
Hadley relaxed into her wife’s touch, and sighed as she listened to her speak. She knew that the chances weren’t great, that they could end up with even more pain, but she couldn’t shake the feeling and nodded. “I know. I think that’s a good idea. One last try.” She whispered softly, turning to place a soft kiss to Kristy’s lips. She knew they had Rain and Brad to think about, too, and it had been weighing on her for most of the night. Between their mother, their home, Evie, there had been so much change and loss for them, but even still, she just couldn’t seem to change her mind on this. “We won’t tell them right away. Not unless it works and we get far enough along. That way if it doesn’t work out, they never have to know.”
KRISTY MEEKS
Truthfully, she didn’t love the idea of Hadley putting her body through this again, not when their chances were so slim, but Kristy was never going to tell her wife not to do something she wanted to do, and she’d support her entirely. “Thank you,” she mumbled against the other woman’s lips, smiling — albeit a small smile, but a smile all the same — for the first time since everything had happened. She nodded her head, listening to what Hadley had to say. “I agree, I think that’s the best option. We’ll make the call first thing tomorrow, okay?” She scooted back over to her side of the bed, taking ahold of her wife’s hand and gently tugging her closer. Kristy wrapped her arm protectively around her, pulling her into her side. “Right now, I think we should try to get to some sleep.” She pressed a small kiss into her wife’s hair. “Don’t you? We’re going to have two children waking us up in a few hours, ready to start their day.”
HADLEY MEEKS
Hadley sighed, contented, relieved, in love, all of it. She was still unbelievably sad, but she couldn’t help but to hold on to hope for this. She wrapped her own arms around her wife and pulled them gently back down the pillows. “You’re perfect,” she whispered against her ear, reaching over to turn off the lamp that Kristy had turned on. “Sleep is a good idea, as long as I get to hold you all night.”
KRISTY MEEKS
They were generally on the same page, which was perhaps one of the reasons the two of them worked so well together. They seemed to be in agreement about this, and if Hadley was ready to try once more, Kristy was going to be right there beside her, holding her hand. Right now, they needed to go back to sleep, something they hadn’t gotten much of lately anyway, and she found herself smiling softly as Hadley pulled her back down, with Kristy curling into her side. “And you are the bravest person I know,” she whispered, leaning up to press a gentle kiss to her wife’s lips, before nuzzling her head into the crook of her neck. “You can hold me all night,” she promised, draping an arm across the other woman’s middle, her fingertips gently stroking over the spot of skin they landed on. “But you have to try to sleep, okay? We have two children who need us to be up and at ‘em in a couple hours.” It should’ve been three, but they weren’t going to give up on Brad and Rain. If anything, Kristy was sure this would just make them hold onto them even tighter.

FAMILY MATTERS ➝ KRISLEYADGAN.
TAGGING ➝ Hadley Meeks, Kristy Meeks, Addie Morgan, Regan St. James.
LOCATION ➝ Hadley & Kristy’s house.
TIME FRAME ➝ 4/20, afternoon.
WARNINGS ➝ None.
NOTES ➝ The Meeks’ make the decision to expand their family curtesy of Addie’s siblings.
KRISTY MEEKS & REGAN ST. JAMES
Kristy didn’t care how exhausted she was, she’d been practically floating since the second she’d laid eyes on she and Hadley’s daughter. Unlike many new parents, she definitely didn’t mind the constant slew of visitors coming to meet their new addition — neither she nor Hadley had literally given birth to the baby, so it wasn’t like they were sore and needed their healing space. She appreciated all of the attention people were giving to Evie, and while Kristy had of course been distracted by the baby more so than their guests, she couldn’t help but notice something off about both Addie and Regan as they sat on their couch. “Brad, Rain,” she spoke up, catching the children’s attention. “Could you do me and Hadley a huge favor?” The two nodded, wide-eyed. “Could you go upstairs and to Evie's bedroom, and pick out a onesie for her to wear for bed from the middle drawer of the big dresser? And if you want to look through her books, maybe you could find one to read to her? But make sure you read it together up there first, so you know when to make all of the right voices for the different characters.” Kristy beamed, watching as the kids hurried off upstairs, then turned her focus to the two women. “I don’t mean to overstep, but is everything okay?” She asked once the children were out of earshot, her tone gentle and concerned.
HADLEY MEEKS & ADDIE MORGAN
It was probably selfish, the way that Addie couldn't bring herself to be as excited as she should for Hadley and Kristy. She wanted so badly to just dive right into their happiness, but she was stressed and she didn't know how to hide that like she normally would. She smiled at Kristy as she sent the kids upstairs, and nodded at her words. "You're not overstepping," Addie said with a small sigh, shaking her head. "Everything is okay, it's just a little stressful right now. I don't want to ruin your happiness with our stuff, though." Addie murmured, feeling guilty that it had even been brought up. "We got a visit from a social worker, and we basically have to adopt Brad and Rain or they go into the system. Of course we're going to adopt them, but it's all just a lot. We both never really saw this as our life, and it's just all being thrown at us..." Addie trailed off, giving Regan's hand a gentle squeeze. "Anyways, we'll figure it out and make it work. I'm much more interested in celebrating with you two right now!"
KRISTY MEEKS & REGAN ST. JAMES
Of course Kristy was wrapped up in everything Evie, but it wasn’t her to just ignore everyone else around her. Quite the opposite, in fact. She was a motherly person in general, so if there was something going on with Hadley’s cousin and her fiancée, Kristy wanted to know. She wanted to be there for them, just like she was sure Hadley did, too. She listened, watching the way Regan seemed to scoot a little closer to the other girl, her hand protectively taking ahold of the other’s. “We’re going to make it work,” Regan added, somehow seeming more sure of their situation than Addie. Kristy’s heart broke for them as she glanced down to the baby in her arms, then toward the stairs where the two kids had disappeared moments ago. “I’m sorry. I can absolutely understand why you’re so stressed,” she said softly, her expression more sympathetic than she was sure they would appreciate. Already, she and Hadley had gotten very attached to Addie’s little siblings, the thought of losing them to the system made her heart ache, too. She was sure the thought flickering through her mind would also be running through her wife’s. “Hadley,” she turned toward the taller woman, licking over her lips. “Can we talk for a moment? Privately.” Motioning toward the kitchen, Kristy stood, handing the baby carefully over to Regan with the promise they’d be right back.
HADLEY MEEKS & ADDIE MORGAN
Hadley felt a deep sadness for her cousin and her fiancée in this situation.  Her and her wife had desperately wanted children for so long now, and while Addie and Regan’s problem was quite the opposite, Hadley understood the pain of not being able to have what you want in life. She turned to her wife as she heard her speak, nodding at her question. She couldn’t help but give Regan a small smirk as she took Evie, knowing that babies were most definitely not her favorite thing. Once in the kitchen, Hadley let out a soft sigh, wrapping her arms around her wife’s waist. “I have a feeling I know what you’re going to suggest, and if I’m right, I want you to know that I’m completely on board.”
KRISTY MEEKS & REGAN ST. JAMES
It was rare that Kristy and Hadley were on different pages. Ever since they’d met, they just always seemed to understand each other, they always seemed to be in total agreement, so once they’d reached the privacy of their kitchen and Kristy had gently closed the door behind them, she knew she didn’t even need to verbally communicate to Hadley what she was thinking for her wife to just know. Her hands rose to settle on the taller woman’s shoulders, fingertips gently massaging them without thought. “I know that we have the baby, and I know that three children would be so much more work than just one.” It wasn’t like she even needed to convince her wife, she’d already said that she was in agreement, but Kristy felt like she had to justify it out loud. “I love Rain and Brad so much already, and I know you do, too. We can do this,” she nodded up at her, “I think that we should do this, Hads.”
HADLEY MEEKS & ADDIE MORGAN
Hadley mostly just nodded to everything her wife was saying. “I would love to adopt them, to call them our own. I love those two so much, and I know you do, too. I’m sure it would be a huge relief to Addie and Regan, they’d be so close by for Addie to see all the time, but she wouldn’t have to worry about taking care of them. We have the room, we have the ability. And you’re such an amazing mother, they’d be just as lucky to have you as we would be to have them.” She leaned forward pressing a kiss to Kristy’s lips. “I hope they’re open to the idea. I know Addie feels a great deal of responsibility for her siblings, she always has, but we have to at least try, right?”
KRISTY MEEKS & REGAN ST. JAMES
Although she wouldn’t admit it aloud, mostly because it seemed incredibly insensitive to do so, Kristy had been kind of hoping Addie’s mom wouldn’t show up anytime soon. She liked having Brad and Rain around, she would miss them when they were gone. She wouldn’t wish this on Steph-Annie, of course, but if she couldn’t take care of her children, Kristy and Hadley could give them the home they deserved, she knew it. A grin spread across her lips as she leaned up to kiss her wife back, gaze on her as she pulled away. “You’re an incredible mother, too,” she agreed, reaching for Hadley’s hand. She didn’t want to get too ahead of herself, since Addie and Regan could still say no, but she had a feeling they would be onboard. “Come on, let’s go speak to them before the kids come back downstairs. Evie’s books are, like, three pages long,” she joked, leading her wife back through to the living room so they could talk things over with her cousin and her fiancée.
HADLEY MEEKS & ADDIE MORGAN
Addie didn’t really know what was going on in the kitchen, but she assumed it wasn’t really her business. Instead she just found herself spending the alone time with Regan making silly faces at her, trying to make her laugh and kissing her. Today was a happy day, and everything aside, she knew that her and Regan would figure everything out and make it all work. She smiled at the two women as they emerged from the kitchen again, “Everything okay?” She asked, looking between the two, an eye brow raising when she saw the look on Hadley’s face. It was her who spoke first.Hadley smiled gently as she sat down again, looking to her cousin first, then Addie and then her wife. “I’m not really sure how to approach this, so I’ll just say it.” She started and then cleared her throat. “We love Rain and Brad, we absolutely adore them, and maybe this is kind of crazy, but we’d like to discuss the idea of us adopting them.” She said,  pausing for a second to study the confused look on Addie’s face before continuing. “They’re your siblings, and we know that you two will do whatever you need to do to take care of them, but we know that it’s not what you want. But having a family is exactly what we’ve always wanted. And they’d have you right next door, you’d be able to see them whenever you wanted of course, you’d know they’re safe, but the burden wouldn’t be on you.”
KRISTY MEEKS & REGAN ST. JAMES
Holding a baby was absolutely not Regan’s thing. She could probably count on one hand the amount of times she’d ever held one, in fact. So, she felt incredibly uncomfortable as she sat with baby Evie in her arms, and was about to hand her over to Addie when Hadley and Kristy returned, but turned to pay attention to the two, her brows raising as they explained. This wasn’t Regan’s decision, so although she saw Kristy looking at her expectantly, she didn’t really know how to respond. “Uh, I mean…” She paused, turning to look at Addie. She lowered her voice. “Babe. What do you think? You don’t have to decide anything right now.” Regan turned toward her cousin. “You have the baby, she’s so little. Wouldn’t two more kids be kind of a lot?”
HADLEY MEEKS & ADDIE MORGAN
Addie really didn't know how to respond to any of this. She found herself leaning back against the couch, her mouth hanging slightly open as she started at the three women around her. Her eyes drifted to Regan, and she shrugged. "I..." She trailed off. She didn't know what to think. She didn't want her and Regan to adopt her siblings, but she knew that they needed to, that was never a doubt in her mind. She hadn't consider the idea of someone else, a couple she trusted so completely, wanting to adopt them instead. "I love you two for offering, but you don't need to do that. I know you guys like to take care of everyone, but Regan and I will work it all out." She said, a sad look in her eyes. "We'll make it work. You don't have to offer that, it's too much. It's so incredibly thoughtful, but I would never ask to put that on you two." She shook her head, feeling -- and not for the first time -- so grateful to have such loving women in her life, but even for them, this was too big of an offer. "You two could probably raise them better than anyone else on the planet, and they love you so much, but you have Evie, and that's just....It's too much."
KRISTY MEEKS & REGAN ST. JAMES
It hadn’t registered to Kristy how big of a deal this really was yet. Maybe it was because she’d had such a small amount of sleep since Evie had been born, she just wasn’t thinking as rationally as usual, so she hadn’t taken Addie and Regan fully into consideration here. She just knew that this was what she and Hadley wanted, and as Addie began to talk, Kristy shook her head. “You’re not asking anything, you’re not putting anything on us.” She scooted forward toward the edge of the couch, reaching over to take ahold of Addie’s hand. She would’ve done the same with Regan if she wasn’t busy holding the baby in what looked like kind of an awkward position. Evie was content enough, though. “We adore both of those children, and if you don’t want us to do this, then we absolutely understand. But please know that we want to. Hadley and I love nothing more than being Evie’s moms, and being Bradley’s moms. We want to be Brad and Rain’s, too.”
HADLEY MEEKS & ADDIE MORGAN
From a very young age, Addie had always been a very tough girl, there was not much that shook her. Having the mother she did, she learned quickly to take care of herself, she learned to defend herself at school, she learned to take care of other people. And she learned not to cry, because that was a sign of weakness. And yet, these last few months, Regan had probably seen her cry more than just about anyone else in her life had ever seen her cry. And here she was, sitting on Kristy and Hadley's couch, as tears started to build behind her eyes. "I love them so much, you know, I really do. I love them." She said, wiping the tears away, "But I've already done this. I raised Harrison, and I love him more than anything, he means the world to me, but I just don't think I can do it again. I know we could make it work, I know you'd be by my side," She said, turning to Regan now, "But I don't know if I can do it. I had a shitty childhood, and honestly everything was total shit until I met you. And I know this isn't about us, I know that it's not like last time, that it's not a deal breaker, but I just want the chance to be happy, to live the life that we choose." Addie shook her head, feeling so relieved for finally being able to express what she was thinking, but even more guilty that she had been before, because she knew it sounded selfish. "I just want to be their fun big sister, I don't want to raise them. I know that's horrible." Addie bit her lip, looking over at her fiancée and then back at the other two women and shrugged. "If it's really what you want, maybe we should ask them? See what they want,  you know?"
KRISTY MEEKS & REGAN ST. JAMES
Regan loved the fact that Addie would allow herself to be so open in front of her. She loved that the other woman trusted her enough to be vulnerable. Honestly, she was the same way. Nobody got to see the emotional side of Regan St. James quite like Addie did. Her heart ached for her fiancée as she listened to her words, looking over at her and trying to ignore the way she could feel her own eyes beginning to sting. She just wanted to reach out and hold her, make everything better. But she had the baby, so all she could do was offer the love of her life a small, reassuring smile, ignoring the tears beginning to roll down her cheeks. They’d had a rough couple weeks, evidently they both needed to break down. “You know that I want that, too,” she whispered, carefully moving one arm from under the baby to reach her hand out to take ahold of Addie’s, the one Kristy wasn’t already holding onto. “Baby, if this is what you want to do,” she paused, glancing over toward her cousin and her wife, “If you both are sure that this is what you want too, then I’m completely supportive. I think asking them is a good idea.” She agreed, squeezing gently onto Addie’s hand. “I’m already pretty sure I know what they’re going to say. They love you, they’re always talking about hanging out with you both. If this is what everybody wants, then it’s what I want, too.” She glanced at her fiancée, watching her as she spoke, though addressing the other two women. “And I know it’s what Addie wants. Which doesn’t make her sound horrible. It makes her human.” She nodded her head. “And you know you’re the strongest person I know, right?”
HADLEY MEEKS & ADDIE MORGAN
It wasn't easy for Addie to get past the guilt of feeling this way, she wasn't sure if she'd ever get past it really, but knowing that Hadley and Kristy wanted to adopt her siblings was a relief. They two of them would be far better mothers to them than Addie ever could have been, and while she was certain that Regan would make an excellent mother, she was even more sure that it was never what the red head had wanted. She was so grateful for Regan's touch, and the comfort that her words brought, causing the brunette to nod. "I think it would be good for them, to be in a place where they're so wanted. My mom is a piece of shit, and they already know they weren't much more than a paycheck from the state to her, and they know I love them, and that Regan loves them, but I think they like being here so much because they can sense how much you two want them around." She said, her eyes meeting Kristy's first and then Hadley's. Hadley nodded as the other women spoke and them smiled softly, standing from her own seat and grabbing a box of tissues that she carried to the couch. She held her arms out for Evie, placing a short kiss to her cousin's temple as she freed her from the baby, "You two take a few minutes, make sure you're certain, and relax. Kristy and I can go upstairs and play with the kids for a little while, and when you two are ready, you can come up and we can talk to Rain and Brad, okay?" She said, holding her hand out for her wife to take, hoping to give the couple a little bit of alone time.
KRISTY MEEKS & REGAN ST. JAMES
This was a huge decision, one that Regan wasn’t going to try to influence Addie into one way or the other. No, she didn’t want children, but for Addie, she’d do it. If that was what she wanted, that’s what she would get. If it were up to her, they’d take Hadley and Kristy’s offer up in a heartbeat, as attached as she was already finding herself growing to the children. They weren’t terrible, she supposed. But this would be better for them, and as Hadley leaned over to take the baby back, Regan offered her an appreciative smile, watery eyes closing as she took comfort from the small kiss to her temple. She waited for Hadley and Kristy to leave the room, before finally turning to focus on Addie. “You know that we should’ve expected this, right?” She laughed softly, quickly wiping under her eyes with her free hand, before reaching out to brush the tears from her fiancée’s cheeks, too. “You know that I want to do whatever you want to do. We know that my cousin and Kristy are incredible parents, we know how loved your siblings will be. But we’ll love them, too. So whatever you want to do, Addie, I’m okay with it.” She squeezed the other girl’s hand gently. “What are you thinking? Talk to me.”
HADLEY MEEKS & ADDIE MORGAN
As the two women left the room, she found herself instantly comforted by Regan's presence. She nodded to what her fiancée had to say and then sighed, biting her lip. "I'm thinking that this the perfect scenario for everyone. Kristy and Hadley get two more kids, we get no kids, and Rain and Brad get a happy home where they're loved. And then I keep thinking that how can I be so horrible to just pawn my baby siblings off on other people." She groaned. "It's like I know that this a good thing. It's a great thing, for everyone. But I can't stop feeling guilty about it. But when I think about what their life would be like here, compared to with us, it's like I know deep down they'd be happier here. I know we'd love them, and I know they'd feel happy and safe with us, but for Kristy and Hadley they're like a dream come true, they're not an unexpected burden. I mean how many kids get to say that their parents literally chose them? That they loved them so much that they couldn't let them go?" She shrugged. "I feel like I'm not making sense." She grabbed a tissue from the box that Hadley had brought over, and wiped away at her eyes, clearing her throat and trying to get a hold of herself again. "I think that even if it makes me feel guilty, that we should do it. I think that's really the best for all of us, especially Rain and Brad, and they're really the only ones that matter in all of this."
KRISTY MEEKS & REGAN ST. JAMES
They were in agreement. Maybe not about everything — Regan definitely did not agree that Addie was a horrible person — but about Hadley and Kristy taking Rain and Brad. They seemed to be on the same page there, and Regan squeezed her fiancée’s hand reassuringly one more time. “I think you’re right,” she nodded, glancing toward the stairs. “Want to go up there and talk to them now?” She paused, unsure of where her words were even coming from. It was definitely not like Regan to consider the feelings of children, but here she was. “We should make it clear to them that we’re not trying to get rid of them, though. That we’d be like big sisters to them, but that Hadley and Kristy would be like moms. And that's what they need, they need parents. Their big sisters will be right next door.”

SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE ➝ KRISLEY.
TAGGING ➝ Hadley Meeks, Kristy Meeks.
LOCATION ➝ Hospital.
TIME FRAME ➝ 4/16, afternoon.
WARNINGS ➝ None.
NOTES ➝ Krisley’s baby is born.
KRISTY MEEKS
Although she knew they were going to be missing out on sleep for the foreseeable future, Kristy had barely been able to sleep the past few nights. She was constantly waiting by the phone, so when Regan had shown up today to tell them she was there for Rain and Brad, and that she and Hadley had to get to the hospital because Emi was in labor, she’d jumped right into action. Not that they’d really needed to hurry, since the labor turned out to be a pretty long one, and neither she nor Hadley were allowed in the room, but they waited dutifully for confirmation that their baby had arrived, and when Madi appeared with a soft smile to let them know they were allowed to go see their daughter, all of Kristy’s anticipation, all of her emotion bubbled to the surface. “It’s a girl?” She questioned, voice cracking some, though the smile on her face never faltered. Her hand clutched onto her wife’s as she looked up at her. “We have a daughter.”
HADLEY MEEKS
The whole thing had been a blur. It had been a long day, and yet it seemed as if it had happened in a flash. All that she really could remember was holding tightly onto her wife’s hand the whole time. When she saw Madi she couldn’t help but hold her breath as well, and when the words finally sank in, a sob escaped her. “We have a daughter!” She agreed, pulling her wife tight against her as she gave her a kiss on the cheek and then reaching forward to give Madi one as well. They followed her into the room, Hadley’s tears coming quickly as her eyes landed first in Emi, and then Addie, and then the baby in Addie’s arms. “Congratulations,  Moms,” Addie smiled as she held the baby out. Hadley stepped aside, wanting Kristy to have the chance to hold her first. She knew they’d both have plenty of time to hold her for years to come, but it felt right for Kristy to hold her in the moment. “She’s so beautiful.”
KRISTY MEEKS
Everything had happened so quickly that Kristy was still trying to digest the fact that they were even going to have a child, let alone the fact that that child was actually here now. She practically floated to the room with her hand tightly in her wife’s, tears flowing down her cheeks as soon as her gaze met with the tiny bundle held in Addie’s arms. She looked up at Hadley as they approached, silently asking if it was okay that she hold the baby first. She could tell that it was, and held out her arms to take her. Kristy immediately pulled the baby closely to her body, eyes trained on her face. “She really is,” she sobbed quietly, carefully lifting one arm from underneath her to brush her finger softly against the baby’s cheek. “Hi, beautiful girl,” she whispered, smiling down at her in spite of her tears. They were happy tears, of course. “We’re your mommies.” It was difficult for her to pull her gaze from the baby, but Kristy managed it to look up at her wife. She really wasn’t ready to let go of her yet, but she of course wanted Hadley to hold her, too. “Here, honey, say hello to our daughter,” she said softly, carefully handing her over.
HADLEY MEEKS
It was more than anything she could ever imagine, watching as her wife held their daughter. She’d of course been there to see Kristy hold Bradley but this was different, they weren’t heartbroken this time. Hadley took the baby gratefully, feeling her entire heart swell as she held her daughter for the very first time. “Hello, precious angel,” she whispered, her eyes only leaving the baby for just a few seconds to scan the room, landing on Emi still in the bed. “Oh Emi, she’s absolutely perfect,” she whispered, and then bit her lip. “Kristy and I have been thinking of names,” she offered, “Would you like to hear them? If not we absolutely understand, we want to make all of this as easy as possible for you.”
KRISTY MEEKS
Nothing could take away from the total euphoria Kristy felt in that moment. Meeting their daughter for the first time, getting to see her wife holding her, it was all entirely indescribable, and she really didn’t know what to do or how to act. She just wanted to get lost in a bubble with her wife and daughter, so much so that she’d almost forgotten her manners. “Oh, yes,” Kristy agreed, turning to look over at Emi. The younger girl seemed pretty disinterested, but looked up from her phone to at least acknowledge them. Kristy took it as their cue to go on. “We talked about Evelyn, but Eva for short. Had she been a boy, she would’ve been Dane. Not that that matters now,” she laughed lightly, turning to stroke her thumb over the back of the baby’s hand. “She does look very much like an Eva, don’t you think, Hadley?” She paused, focusing on Emi again. “But we of course want you to have a say. There’s no way we can ever properly thank you for making us parents again, getting your opinion is the absolute least we can do.”
HADLEY MEEKS
Hadley nodded along to what her wife was saying, too enthralled in their new baby to worry about Emi’s disinterest. She only looked up when she heard the younger girl sigh, “Yeah. Eva is cute I guess. What about Eva for the first name and Lynn for her middle name, that’s cute, isn’t it?” She asked, which earned a not so hidden eye roll from Addie, but Hadley just nodded happily. “Oh yes, very cute. What do you think Kristy? Eva Lynn?” Hadley didn’t care much what the name was, she was just so happy to have a baby, she’d have conceded to just about anything when it came to her name.
KRISTY MEEKS
As much as she wanted to thank Emi for literally giving them her child, it was difficult for her to focus on anything other than her wife and their new daughter. She knew that neither she nor Hadley really cared what they named her; they just wanted their baby. So, Emi’s request to split the name, much like she and all of her siblings, wasn’t any hardship for her to agree to. “Eva Lynn,” she repeated, nodding her head as she turned to look at the baby. Her finger brushed softly against her cheek. “I think it suits you, Eva Lynn Meeks.” Her gaze met her wife’s, with Kristy flashing her a smile of approval. “I think that’s it.”

“Hi, Krafters!” Kristy grinned toward one of her two cameras, sending a wave to her audience. “So, firstly I wanted to apologize for there being no update yesterday, but I promise the glitter removal video will be up as soon as possible. I think you’ll be able to forgive me when I explain my absence, though.” She winked toward the camera, then turned to her wife to motion she and Evie into the frame with her.

KRISTY MEEKS; CONNECTIONS.
♡ HADLEY MEEKS (née fabray)
wife
kristy and hadley met in college, and if you were to ask kristy, she’d say it was love at first sight. she fell head over heels for the other woman, with the two marrying in their early twenties and trying to start a family soon after. unfortunately, their pregnancy attempts have all ended less than ideally; they have suffered miscarriage after miscarriage, as well as a stillbirth, so it’s safe to say they have never had the best of luck. this has only strengthened their marital relationship, of course, and the two now have everything they ever wanted in their three adopted children. although they don’t know it yet, there’s a fourth on the way, too.
