Are we connected?
Chapter three: snack break!
(A/N: I know I said id start writing longer chapters but various stuff irl made it a tad tricky (III╥_╥))
first ,previous next
Kris laid on their couch the same as they had the night before, it had taken them a bit longer to fall asleep, and now they were up early. The Player just disappearing last night was weird, there was obviously some outside force that had caused it, and the way its voice had bugged out as it disappeared was odd. Kris was fine though, it felt more like when Ralsei had somehow sent it away then when they had ripped it out, so they were pretty sure they'd be ok. They should probably enjoy the bits of peace they had, they’d already turned the TV back off so they could lay there until Susie wakes up, exactly what they’d be doing normally.
“Work you stupid-- let's go, I’m in!” And it was back, so much for bits of peace. “Ahaha! I am a god, Gaster trembles before me!” It gloated to itself, “Yo Krispes you can still hear me right?” It asked them
They wish they couldn't
“Oh good! Sorry, I spent like a solid hour trying to get back in, but I’m here now and my stuff is totally broken!” It laughed, forcing Kris off the couch, “So are we up early or what?” It asked as it dragged them around their house, making them examine the items they already knew so well.
Kris is up far earlier than they normally would be, especially for a Saturday
“It's Saturday!? Dude, I totally thought it was Wednesday!” It exclaimed
Well that was stupid of it
“Excuse me for thinking we were gonna start at the start of the week.” It scoffed, “I’m rolling my eyes by the way” It added on, did it even have eyes? “Anyway now we’re missing out on a big chunk of the timeline, so I am unsure what we’re gonna do”
Just hang out? They didn't constantly need to be in dark worlds fighting for their life.
Probably.
Technically, the dark worlds helped them make new/talk to old friends, but technically The Player was also there for all that and there was no way in hell Kris was giving it any credit for that even if it was the only reason they could do any of it. A chill day with Susie would be nice, they could probably spend more time wandering around town, just screwing around without having to worry about saving the world or whatever.
The player walked them over to Susie, who despite its best efforts (spamming “yes to the “wake her?” prompt that appeared) stayed sound asleep. It then went over to go harass their mother, because this thing constantly needs to be doing something for some Angel forsaken reason.
“Oh, Kris… you’re up early” She yawned, rubbing her eyes
They agree.
“Well, would you like some breakfast?” She asked them, standing up, “Susie is still asleep, but I'm sure she would not mind some pancakes” She mused to herself as she walked into the kitchen.
Kris remained in their spot near her chair, either the player had gotten distracted or it just didn't see a reason for them to move (unlikely, it was constantly doing something), it didn't really matter why though, because the inability to move, to do anything on their own left them feeling out of place in their own home.
After an uncomfortable amount of time, they were moving again, “Yo i’ ‘ack I as ga-in a hack” It… tried to speak? Its voice was sort of muffled, “Whoops, mouth full,” It laughed, because sure why not? It has a mouth, apparently.
Kris took a step, probably to go harass their mom or something, but quickly got cut off as they heard a yelp and a thud behind them. Turning around, they spotted Susie laying face first on the ground, quickly scrambling up in the hopes that no one would notice.
“Hell are you looking at, Kris!?” She demanded, pointing at them accusingly.
“Your tail.” They responded, after the player had imputed how to answer.
Susie quickly checked that any tail that may or may not actually be there was showing before turning back to Kris, “I don't have no tail!”
“Pancakes are ready,” Toriel called to the two, setting plates on the table “And good morning Susie,”
“Oh uh… thanks ma’am.” Susie answered, quickly straightening her posture to a comedic degree before walking over to the table
Kris followed after her, grabbing for the syrup to pour into their cup before eating, as Susie had already finished tearing through hers.
Drinking the syrup earned a confused and maybe distressed “Dude?” From the player, which caused them to snicker in satisfaction, their turn to weird the other out.
“I have some pie as well, if you want some, as long as someone didn't eat it all” She said side eyeing Kris, who swallowed a mouthful of the syrup before shrugging. Toriel just sighed before going to grab the pie and cut a slice off for Susie. “Kris, you may have yours after you finish your pancakes, and no, you may not have more syrup.”
Kris sighed and finished their pancakes before going to cut themself a slice of pie, their mom did not approve of the size of the slice, granting one that was significantly smaller than what they were hoping for. But, pie is pie, they guess.
“Thanks again for the food, ma’am” Susie, said standing up and walking for the door
“Susie, wait, let Kris walk you home” Toriel offered, without asking her child if they feel like doing that, “Kris, walk Susie back to her house,” She said, gently pushing them towards Susie. Kris sighed before walking back out the door, Susie following behind them. “Hey, uh… we don't have to go straight to my house, I don't mind walking around for a bit,” She said once the door had closed behind them.
Good, Kris doubted the player would go anywhere without checking to make sure it had done everything possible first, at least they won't seem like a jerk for wandering around when they were supposed to be taking Susie home. They weren't sure where she lived anyway, so why was she following them and not the other way around? Well, that was a question it seemed they wouldn't be getting an answer to, considering they didn't care enough to ask and Susie probably didn't know either.

The Stages Of Falling In Love: Realization
Denial || Attachment || Realization || Sharing || Reflection || Acceptance
Everyone was thankful once you got back; Tony ran up to you, dragging you to the common room, blabbing about how there was an ice cream party and how he had bought all kinds of toppings and ice cream. He shoved you down on the couch and walked to the kitchen to get you your own spoon and bowl.
But, really, Tony was thanking Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior that Loki could finally shut up about you.
Loki was very annoyed when Tony banged on his door, telling him to come out and shove ice cream into his damn mouth so you can shut up about her already, but didn’t protest.
After all, he liked ice cream.
And, well… you, he guessed.
You squealed as Tony brought the bowl and spoon, and practically made a beeline for the table where the ice cream and toppings were. Loki was sitting on the single-person couch a little farther away from the rest of the team, who were clamoring about the ice cream assortments.
Loki grimaced at the bowl in Bucky’s hand, which was filled with- he heard- mango ice cream, Pop Rocks sprinkles, strawberry syrup, and hot chocolate cream. He wondered what it would taste like- a tangy sting on the tip of the tongue, followed by a crackling firework show in your mouth, then an overly sweet revelation, then a soft, warm, soothing taste that would feel like a hug from the inside.
Sweet, but disgusting.
Kind of like you.
Since when did he start comparing people to ice cream?
Loki furrowed his eyebrows, but returned to his neutral expression as he tried to brush away those thoughts, and continued to snack on his ice cream.
“You’re just having vanilla?”
He looked up at you. Of course, you had an extremely bizarre combination like everyone else.
“Why do you ask?” he quirked up an eyebrow.
“Oh, no,” you shook your head quickly. “I like vanilla too! I call it the imagination flavor.”
“I beg your pardon?” He leaned forward.
“I call it the imagination flavor because when the ice cream shop didn’t have my favorite flavor, I’d always buy vanilla, close my eyes, eat it, and pretend it’s my favorite flavor!”
Loki stared at you as you animatedly talked about ice cream. Again, ice cream always brought him back to the idea of cold, but he’d be damned if he said he wasn’t interested.
“But right now, actually, I’m not eating vanilla. I’m eating this combination of ch-” you suddenly frowned, moving a few steps back. “I-Im sorry, you must be annoyed by me.”
Loki blinked, realizing your tone changed to something a little smaller.
If it were anyone else, Loki would be itching to tell them to leave, to let him eat his bloody ice cream in serenity.
But this was you.
And, for some reason, you weren’t just anyone else.
“Continue,” he found himself saying.
Your eyebrows perked up, your eyes lighting up with a ping! as you stuttered on your words. “Wha-?”
“Go ahead,” he said. “Tell me what horrible concoction you’re having.”
You squealed in joy, and the corner of Loki’s lips curled ever so slightly.
“I’m having a chocolate and coffee crumble, with Pop Rocks, Rice Krispies, white chocolate chips, and raspberry syrup. Try it, it’s the best!” You scooped a part of it up and held the spoon up to Loki.
Loki thought it was disgusting.
Chocolate with coffee, of all the odd combinations? Rice Krisp- what in the Nine? And raspberry syrup? Utterly unorthodox.
But he didn’t want to disappoint you.
So, he leaned forward, and took the spoon in his mouth, taking it from you with his hand. He smacked his lips together a few times, then his eyebrows went up.
It tasted great.
It tasted heavenly.
It was all the good things in the world all rolled in one in a single spoon of ice cream.
Was that what love would taste like?
The fireworks show in his mouth was spontaneous, but the chocolate and coffee and raspberry mixed perfectly well to complement it. It was overwhelming… in the best way.
He loved it.
He raised an eyebrow at you, his expression completely neutral.
“It’s alright,” he hummed.
You grinned. “I told you!”
You chattered on about the ice cream, and how Nat’s ice cream mix tasted like crap, and that’s when Loki realized it.
He didn’t care about the snow, or the imagination flavor, or way the ice cream left a sweet aftertaste that would last the rest of the night. He didn’t care just because he cared.
He cared because he cared about you.
And it dawned upon him as he stared at you as you stood up to get another helping of the imagination flavor.
He was in love.

Наслов: Industry Experts and Pro Bloggers Come Together to Inspire, Teach, and Help You (and Your Site) Succeed, Линк: https://ift.tt/3g8R1Z8 , Садржај:
At the Official WordPress.com Growth Summit, the two-day virtual conference running twice from August 11-13, you’ll have access to about 50 speakers and presenters across 90+ breakout sessions and keynote conversations. The varied lineup will appeal to new and established bloggers; professionals in tech, media, and marketing; and anyone ready to build or expand their presence on the web.
Event highlights include a talk from Smitten Kitchen creator and cookbook author Deb Perelman; panels with Newspack founder Kinsey Wilson on the state of independent and local journalism amid a struggling media landscape and in the age of COVID-19; and sessions with founders and representatives from companies and organizations like Xbox, Google, Sandwich, African Queer Youth Initiative, Out in Tech, Looka, and more.
Wondering what to expect? Here are 10 entrepreneurs, founders, bloggers, and developers scheduled to speak at the summit.
Jason Snell
Jason is the founder and editor-in-chief of Six Colors, a site that covers Apple, technology, and the intersection of tech and culture. Previously, as the lead editor for Macworld, he covered every major Apple product release for more than a decade.
In a breakout session on content and community with web designer and A List Apart founder Jeffrey Zeldman, they’ll share blogging and podcasting tips, advice on growing your audience, and making money with paywalls, stores, advertising, and more. “Membership programs can build loyalty and provide the most enthusiastic portions of your audience with more of what they love,” says Jason. “I switched to WordPress in order to build a richer — and more marketable — membership program, and the results have been excellent.”
Tina Wells
“The 4Ps of marketing — product, place, promotion, and price — have changed dramatically,” says Tina Wells, the founder of Elevation Tribe, a community and lifestyle publication focused on helping women of color launch, grow, and lead their businesses. In her breakout session, Tina will talk about creating a marketing plan for beginners and small businesses. “We’ll go back to basics and discover how we can make the right changes to help your business not only survive, but thrive.”
A business strategist and passionate entrepreneur, Tina believes in the power of an effective online presence. “Your website is your first storefront, and it tells the story of your brand,” she says, noting that a strong visual identity and fresh design are critical. You can see both in action at Elevation Tribe and on Tina’s website.
Kristin Smith
“My authenticity is what allows me to share my brand with others. Being yourself — and transparent — is what people see and keeps them coming back. There’s only one of you, and that alone is enough,” says Kristin Smith, food blogger at Krisp X Kristin and podcast co-host of At the Bar.
In Kristin’s breakout session, you’ll find out how she turned her passion for cooking into a popular blog and podcast. She’ll share what she’s learned, giving you a set of actionable steps to inspire you to overcome your fears and get started on your website.
“Sometimes in the beginning it’s hard to see a finish line. But, keep your head down and keep working. Throw yourself into it, network with other likeminded people, and continue to learn,” says Kristin. “It all will pay off in the end.”
Paul Bakaus
“The web used to be the best platform for content creation, distribution, and consumption,” says Paul Bakaus, a senior staff development advocate at Google. “But today the walled garden — closed social apps and platforms — are drinking our milkshake. I say it’s time we stop letting them! We need to, as a community, work on making the web more visual, frictionless, and bite-sized. Web Stories are our approach to help with that, and we can’t wait for you to join us.”
In his breakout session, Telling Web Stories with WordPress, Paul will introduce you to Web Stories — a mobile-first tool that allows storytellers to create visual narratives with engaging animations and tappable interactions — and show how you can use them on your website with the Web Stories for WordPress plugin.
Anton Diaz
“We want to contribute to an awesome post-COVID-19 world,” says Anton Diaz, traveler, founder, and creator of Our Awesome Planet. “We’re helping food businesses to connect with foodies and travel destinations to engage with travelers.”
In his breakout session, Anton will share the principles that have guided his food and travel blog for 15 years. “There are core beliefs that have helped Our Awesome Planet stand out,” says Paul. “We make sure that all the food and travel experiences we feature are based on first-hand experience, grounded on our original vision: documenting the food and travel adventures of our family as our four sons — Aidan, Joshua, Raphael, and Yugi — have grown.”
Deb Perelman
Deb Perelman, the longtime food blogger at Smitten Kitchen, is a WordPress.com community favorite. What started as a food blog and side project in her tiny New York City kitchen has grown into one of the most popular food blogs on the internet, as well as a series of best-selling cookbooks.
“I just really, really enjoy blogging,” Deb said in an interview with WordPress.com several years ago. “I love having a place where I can share what I’m working on in an immediate way and have a conversation with people who are equally excited about it, and who encourage me to try more stuff that scares me in the kitchen.” At the conference, Deb will share her story and the journey of Smitten Kitchen, from start to present.
Kim Newton
Kim Newton, a global marketing executive with over 20 years of experience working with corporations and brands, is the creator of The Intentional Pause, a project that empowers women to follow their dreams using the power of pause. “I give every woman permission — yes permission — to just stop and think,” she writes on her website. “I want to help women to embrace pausing as a powerful way forward, with intention, to achieve their dreams.”
Kim has had many successes in consumer marketing, corporate strategy, and business development, and will share her insights on marketing and PR at the summit.
Chris Coyier
Chris Coyier, the co-founder of CodePen, is a front-end developer and designer. He’s also the creator of CSS-Tricks, a resource that’s all about building websites, mostly from a front-end perspective, and was built on WordPress since day one. “I’m a solo developer for the most part on CSS-Tricks. Just me over here. I don’t have the budget for a fancy development team. But I still want to feel powerful and productive. That’s one of the things that WordPress has given to me. I feel like I can build just about anything on WordPress, and do it in a way that doesn’t feel like a mountain of technical debt that I would struggle to maintain.”
In his breakout session — Putting WordPress to Work — Chris will take us behind the scenes at CSS-Tricks, sharing “just how powerful WordPress can be as a platform to run a publishing business on.”
Amy Chan
For Amy Chan, blogging provided the path to a publishing career. Amy is the founder of Renew Breakup Bootcamp, the world’s first breakup bootcamp, and the author of Breakup Bootcamp: The Science of Rewiring Your Heart. “Heartbreak is something that affects everyone, so people were able to connect quickly with the company’s offering,” says Amy.
In Amy’s breakout session — How I Accidentally Became a Thought Leader By Blogging — she shares her own story, and how you can transform your side gig into something bigger. To start, Amy says to just do it: “Stop hiding. Stop waiting. Stop perfecting. Perfection is procrastination in disguise,” she says. “Start the blog, launch the event, put your creation out in the world. Whatever it is, just get in a mindset of taking action. Create as a way of being. Launch it now and develop it later.”
Danica Kombol
Danica Kombol founded Everywhere Agency to help brands tell better stories through social media and influencer marketing. As CEO, she leads a team that works with brands to launch content-driven campaigns and to create meaningful conversations with followers in powerful, measurable ways.
Danica also launched Everywhere Society, a network of about 5,000 established influencers and bloggers, which powers the agency’s influencer campaigns and brand ambassadorships. Her session will cover blogging for purpose and profit.

1. Eats With Prebiotic and Probiotic Perks for Better Gut Health: When it comes to getting your fill of gut-healthy probiotics, you now have many options beyond yogurt. Lifeway Kefir spreadable Farmer Cheese is strained from kefir and contains a dozen strains of probiotics. And then there’s Farmhouse Culture’s Kraut Krisps, made from, well, sauerkraut, and oatmeal with heat-resistant probiotics from ThinkThin. Standard probiotic foods include kombucha, kvass, kimchi, and plain kefir itself. Don’t forget about prebiotics, which feed that friendly gut bacteria. Kellogg’s Happy Inside cereal provides both pre- and probiotics, plus fiber to additionally boost gut health. “We are learning more and more about the benefits of a healthy microbiome, so there’s a lot of interest about ways to feed the trillions of bacteria in our guts,” says Samantha Cassetty, RD. The microbiome is the community of bacteria in the gut that may play a role in the development of health conditions such as diabetes, eczema, cancer, and depression, according to the Genetic Science Learning Center at the University of Utah.
2. Foods With Sustainable Benefits So You Can Benefit the Planet, Not Just Your Body: “Do good” is a mantra many companies, small and big alike, are standing by these days. General Mills, for instance, set a goal to sustainably source 10 of its top ingredients by the year 2020. It’s currently meeting 76 percent of that goal, with all of its palm oil, 99 percent of its fiber packaging, 81 percent of its U.S. sugar beets, and 67 percent of its U.S. dry milled corn sustainably sourced. This notably impacts its Cheerios and Nature Valley lines. Also, the bottled beverage company Rebbl ethically employs workers and donates 2.5 percent of its net sales to reduce the risk of exploitation and human trafficking. And don’t forget about sustainably sourced eggs. “Vital Farms’ hens are allowed to forage freely, and this keeps the pastures healthy and means harmful chemicals aren’t necessary,” says Cassetty. “It’s a win for the animals, a win for the environment, and a win for egg lovers because pasture-raised eggs have more vitamins and minerals than eggs produced in other ways.”
3. Convenience Superfoods for When You’re On the Go: It’s now easier than ever to eat healthy when you’re in a hurry. Don’t have time to prepare sweet potato toast from scratch? Caulipower just launched frozen slices that you just pop into the toaster oven. You also have no excuses to skip the whole grains, since you can buy single-serving bowls of microwave quinoa from Minute Rice. And if you're looking for a little extra nutritional oomph from your nut butter, Probar offers single-serve packets of almond butter with berry powder (think acai and more) for extra antioxidants. “We are seeing a trend toward more plant-based eating and people wanting whole-food ingredients, but consumers are still busy and need convenience,” says Bannan. “I’m happy to see new products that make it easier for consumers to embrace healthy eating on the go.”
4. New Plant-Based Milks From Surprising Sources: Looking for a plant-based milk? Your options now include much more than almond and soy milk. From banana to walnut to hemp, hazelnut, oat, and flaxseed milk, products now exist to suit almost any dietary preference and need. "People always love a trend, and plant-based is the hottest trend right now, fueling the desire for multiple plant-based milk sources,” says Kyle. “Certain plant-based milks, like banana milk or oat milk, are appealing to consumers because they are generally free of many of the top eight allergens that are typically present in more traditional milks like almond or soy. Look for oat milk from Oatly, walnut and hazelnut milks from Elmhurst 1925, pecan milk from MALK, flax milk from Manitoba Milling Co., and banana milk from Mooala. Wondering why your alternative milk’s label says “milked nuts” or “malk”? It’s because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is in the process of likely banning all nondairy milks from using “milk” in their names. Note that while banana milk is delicious and provides nutrients like blood-pressure-helping potassium, you’ll typically get more satiating protein from a nut- or seed-based milk. For an easily accessible source of protein, opt for calcium-rich dairy milk. Check the nutrition facts label to choose a milk that meets your nutritional needs.
5. Innovative Lactose-Free Dairy Products That Go Beyond Milk: Food for people with specific dietary needs is plentiful right now. That includes lactose-free dairy — and we’re not talking just milk. You can now find lactose-free cottage cheese, kefir, and yogurt from Green Valley Creamery. And Cabot Cheese boasts a “lactose-free” label on several of its cheeses, including aged Cheddar and Colby Jack. “Certain health conditions may prevent [some people] from enjoying traditional forms of food, like certain bovine dairy-based milk, and they are increasingly interested in the alternative options coming to the marketplace,” says Kyle.
6. More Keto-, Paleo- and Low-FODMAP-Friendly Foods: Many people are either interested in specific eating styles or increasingly aware of their own dietary sensitivities. That’s why you’ll find many convenience foods tailored to low-FODMAP eating patterns — meaning these foods avoid ingredients that tend to trigger IBS symptoms, such as onion, garlic, and even gluten. Fody offers low-FODMAP salsa, ketchup, salad dressings, and more, while Rachel Pauls sells low-FODMAP bars, jerky, and spices. Even Prego offers a Sensitive Recipe pasta sauce sans onions and garlic. “I think we’re finally moving away from [only] calories and numbers,” says Cynthia Sass, RD, MPH. “My clients want to know more about the functional benefits of foods, including how they impact digestive health, immunity, sleep, energy, and mental focus. More consumers are now connecting food choices with everyday quality-of-life outcomes, and labels that offer more information can help make that easier.” You’ll also find food labels promoting specific dietary patterns, such as paleo and keto. Think grain-free paleo snack puffs from Lesser Evil and multiple brands offering keto-specific products. Of course, be sure to talk to your doctor before trying any restrictive diet plan, including keto and paleo!
7. Protein-Powered Foods to Help You Crush Your Next Gym Sesh: Protein is all the rage, and here’s why: It helps keep you fuller for longer, helping to fight the urge to snack all day long and also providing fuel for your workouts. You’ll find YQ by Yoplait plain yogurt made with ultra-filtered milk, offering 17 grams of protein per 5.3-ounce single-serve container; collagen-based coffee creamer from Vital Proteins; and ready-to-drink soups with collagen protein from Zupa Noma.
8. More Classic, Go-to Snacks in Healthier Whole-Grain Varieties: You won’t find only the typical whole grains in your bread, pasta, and snack food nowadays. Think of lentils, rice, and pea protein blended in a gluten-free pasta from Modern Table, sorghum-based gluten-free pretzels from Quinn Snacks, and soup featuring whole-grain pasta from Campbell’s. “People recognize that whole grains are much more nutritious than refined grains, so they’re prioritizing these when shopping for packaged products,” says Cassetty. “One brand I love is Quinn Snacks. Since they’re made with whole grains, I feel good about giving them to my son and recommending them to clients looking for a healthier snack, in moderation. I also like their microwave popcorn because unlike other brands, the toppings are added after it’s popped.”
9. Packaged Foods That Make It Easier to Eat More Plants: The plant-based packaged-food category is more expansive than ever. “The plant-based movement ties into a number of trending consumer priorities, including health protection, environmental stewardship, and ethically driven eating,” Sass says. “My clients constantly tell me they feel better physically and feel good about how they are spending their food dollars when they eat more plant-based foods.” When it comes to new finds, think pumpkin seed butter from 88 Acres, algae oil from Thrive, chia seed oil from Lekithos, and even dark-chocolate-covered chickpeas from Biena.
10. Almost-Ready-to-Eat Healthy Breakfasts: Frozen and other quick-cooking lunches and dinners have been on offer for years. But convenient, almost ready-to-eat balanced breakfasts haven’t been as plentiful in the supermarket aisles — that is, until now. Many of these are in bowl and mug form. You can pick up a Dr. Praeger’s bowl with egg whites and or an Amy’s Kitchen bowl with tofu, quinoa, meatless sausage, and vegetables. And Kodiak Cakes now sells whole-grain flapjack microwave mug cups. “Health-conscious consumers don’t want to eat bagels, pastries, or sugary cereals for breakfast,” says Sass. “I think we’ll see more products that marry nutrition and convenience, and fit a category I refer to as ‘homemade for you,’ meaning simple ingredients you could have combined yourself but didn’t have to because someone prepared them for you.”
All those new health trends are food for thought! But while you work hard to stay trendy and put the good stuff on the inside; do you have anything to protect you on the outside? Instagram Influencer Marketing Case Study: TikTok Marketing Campaign Cooks Up Delish Content With Popular Instagram Food Creators
TikTok is a video-centric social media app hot on the heels of popular platforms including YouTube, Snapchat, and of course, Instagram. Offering users the ability to express themselves through quick clips set to popular music (available via the platform’s expansive library), the app has become a fashionable channel for lip-syncing, dance, comedy videos, and more.
Particularly popular with Gen Z, TikTok reported 500 million worldwide monthly active users in June 2018. The massive numbers have led popular influencers and celebrities on other social platforms to establish their presence on TikTok as well. In kind, advertisers looking to connect with fans have begun collaborating with top TikTok creators to ride on the success of the buzzy, meme-like network.
Instafamous Food Influencers #SavorTheFlavor With Bite-Sized TikTok Marketing Campaign
Despite the growth of TikTok’s user base, the app hasn’t yet reached the advertising heights of social network giants such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. However, a recent advertising push, including a UK television spot, could very well change that.
As a platform used by brands looking to leverage the power of influencer marketing, TikTok utilizes the popular advertising practice for their own brand awareness efforts as well. Through a creative TikTok marketing campaign on Instagram, the app partnered with prominent food and cooking influencers who have a presence on both platforms.

Chelsey White of Chelsweets is a self-described “Cake content creator” offering innovative dessert recipes from her home in New York City. Broadcasting to 768,000 followers on Instagram and 74,000 fans on TikTok, White has gained considerable popularity on both platforms with her visually stunning baked goods.
For her TikTok Instagram post, White constructed a triple-layer cake, challenging “fellow foodies” to take part in TikTok’s “Savor The Flavor” contest. Using Instagram’s “paid promotion” tag and #ad, White mentioned the TikTok Instagram account and other food influencers in the description. White’s post received 212,690 views, 8,765 likes, and 32 comments for an engagement rate of 1.15%.
Takeaways
Media created on other platforms can be repurposed, remixed, and cross-promoted across multiple social spaces to expand awareness and reach.
“Challenges” continue to be an attractive means of promotion, especially when it comes to TikTok marketing campaigns with influencers.
Contests generate engagement by offering followers potential value.
Food preparation (and other types of time-cut video) work well with TikTok’s short-form, musical format.

Dear Diary + Kaeto!
Send my muse ‘Dear Diary’ and they will write a diary entry about your character! //Accepting//
December 6thDear Daiichi,
Last night, I was a little stressed! So, to relieve myself a little, I snuck into the kitchen to whip up some sweets…And ended up making three batched of cookies and two things if krisp treats. It’s a little embarrassing in MANY ways, I know, I know, I need to stop this habit of mine. So today I gave lots of my friends little treats as we met one another—You know, the friends I see at school. The reactions were varied, but mostly happy; you should’ve seen Kae’s reaction when I revealed when they were homemade, thoug. He was totally nonchalant about it, yeah. But I saw him only an hour later, and they were already gone and he said something like “they’d go bad if I didn’t eat them”. Adorable, right?!?! Kae’s like a kid who tries to act cool and collected!! I hope he liked them, if he ate so quickly. I’ll ask him about it tomorrow.

Industry Experts and Pro Bloggers Come Together to Inspire, Teach, and Help You (and Your Site) Succeed

Deb Perelman, the longtime food blogger at Smitten Kitchen, is a WordPress.com community favorite. What started as a food blog and side project in her tiny New York City kitchen has grown into one of the most popular food blogs on the internet, as well as a series of best-selling cookbooks.

Kim Newton

Foods Boomers Grew Up On (Not Exactly Haute Cuisine)
Tromping through a world of fond memories, who could overlook these (presently to some degree repulsive) staples of our initial eating routine:
Cheez Prodigy… much like Velveeta, this handled nourishment made its presentation in 1952 and was heaped on saltines and spread on white bread
Leader Twinkies and Cupcakes
Jello
Popsicles
Franks
Potato Chips
Fried Eggs and Bacon
Nutty spread
S’mores
Icy mass lettuce with watery packaged dressing
Barbecued Cheddar Sandwiches
Campbell’s Tomato Soup
Yoo Hoo (chocolate enhanced soda created in New Jersey in 1928 and produced by Keurig Dr Pepper)
Swanson Solidified Suppers
Meatloaf (covered in ketchup)
Fish Noodle Dish
Prepared Gold country
Deviled Eggs
Chicken à la Lord
Red Delectable Apples
Welsh Rarebit
Ry-Krisp Wafers
Succotash
Spam
Bubblegum
Salisbury Steak
Meatballs and Spaghetti
Toll House Treats
Brownies
also, a portion of the primary comfort nourishments:
1950. Moment Rice
1951. Metal Ida Nourishments (solidified potato items)
1953. Eggo Solidified Waffles
1954. General Factories Trix grain
1955. Kellogg’s Exceptional K grain
1956. Majestic Margarine
It’s amusing to think back and see which of these bastions of the early years despite everything we devour and even appreciate, and which ones we wouldn’t eat on a wager (would you be able to spell J-e-l-l-o?). We’ve exchanged sugary oats for Irish Steel Cut Cereal, Chinese take-out for hot Thai noodles, Cheez Star for goat cheddar and Brie and fish sticks for fish tacos. Our first nibble of KFC seared chicken is an antiquated memory, our first McDonald’s we most likely can’t much recollect and our first white Moment Rice a flat, exhausting bland filler. Huge numbers of despite everything us grasp nutty spread, however it’s the normal natural assortment, not sugary Skippy.
Prepared Gold country? Good karma discovering it on any eatery menu nowadays. Head lettuce has offered approach to crunchy Napa cabbage, arugula and romaine, cremini, portobello and shitake mushrooms and the adored avocado added to plates of mixed greens, sandwiches and our new most loved Mexican nourishments. Risotto rice with exquisite veggies, delightful pasta dishes with nary a meatball in locate, unlimited kinds of tortilla chips and salsas, planner pizza, white chicken bean stew, new fish with tasty sauces or simply barbecued on a grill.
Alright, so perhaps you have a container of Twinkies or Little Debbie bite cakes covered up in the cloth storage room; a reserve of Hershey bars under the dish towels in the kitchen; or a kind sized pack of Lay’s Potato Chips in the storage compartment of your vehicle (on the off chance that you get stranded on the turnpike for a few hours). You’re in charge, right? Also, at times you simply draw the ties, don’t pick up the telephone and down a whole jug of Pinot Grigio wine with your Giggling Bovine cheddar triangles (on Ritz Wafers, obviously). Life is great. Nourishment is great. What’s more, aren’t we fortunate. We can get a broiled rotisserie chicken at the store, a container of garlic pureed potatoes, pop a pack of solidified vegetables into the microwave and have an entire supper in under 15 minutes. What a world. Furthermore, not a jiggly bowl of cherry Jello in locate.
Later I’m going out for shrimp tacos soaked in new lime juice and Pico de Gallo. What’s more, perhaps some twofold chocolate whirl gelato. This Boomer is an undeniable foodie forever.
