a gadget was in her upturned hand, some sort of  device that she'd never seen before but was truly  curious about. she taps lightly on his shoulder as  to get his attention, moving her palm over towards him to show the man what he may have dropped.

Tadashi was not a particularly ill-willed person ( aside from the stealing-his-brother's-inventions things but that was a whole nother story ) but he had never heard good things about this man, and hardly needed him finding anything out.
