LEGO Star Wars Rebuild The Galaxy Thoughts

"Nothing makes sense, and everything's mixed up, and that's okay. Things fall apart, but maybe they can come back together better than before." Sig Greebling

Rebuild The Galaxy is my favorite out of all the D+ LEGO SW specials. I really love the connections to LEGO and SW, including the previous LEGO SW shows, especially Freemaker Adventures. Michael Kramer did an amazing job with the soundtrack, Sig's and Yesi's themes were well-composed.

Part I

"For someone who spends all his time telling stories about heroes, you have no idea how to be one. Maybe that's why you like history so much. It's over and done, but your life isn't. There's so much ahead of you if you'd just try, but you're afraid." Dev Greebling

Sig Greebling is such a cool name. I really love how he's a literal in-universe SW fan, yet someone who actually wants to be normal despite his Force sensitivity. I find it funny he's a literal Nerf herder. I do emphasize of how he wanted to avoid all the expectations if people know he's Force-sensitive.

I love the reference to Wookiees originally being a part of RotJ before being replaced with Ewoks.

Fennesa is a cool-looking world. Yesi Scala is another cool name (I get reminded of Scala Ad Caleum from KH haha). It's too bad Sig's indecisiveness and inability to step out of his comfort zone translates to his social life, even his crush. The background painting showing the sunset is so beautiful.

I really like how the Ackbar Troopers are the Clones in this universe. They must have chosen Ackbar as the main host due to his skills since he was a skilled warrior and leader, but definitely also for the memes out of universe. I also love how Phase I was used because the Kaminionans designed the Phase I suit based on aquatic species like themselves and would fit the Mon Calamari Clones.

The fighting animation and choreography for Yesi's fight against the Ackbar Troopers are so well animated. I laughed seeing that one Ackbar Trooper shooting with two blasters. I can see why Sig likes Yesi. Also ooff, Yesi lost her father in this timeline to the Empire. You can feel the bleak state of this galaxy under this Empire. At least, Yesi's desire to fly among the stars and not live in a backwater world is still there. I like how Sig also mentioned how Rancors are actually misunderstood intelligent creatures.

Double ooff, Sig's brother is now Darth Devastator "Dev". At least we finally get our first on-screen appearance of Jedi Bob!

Part II

"Being a hero is easier when you don't know the cost...Sig, the Force doesn't work that way. The dark side is loud and obvious like a big, mean Gamorrean kicking you in the head over and over. But the light side, the light side of the Force is just a whisper in the back of your mind." Bobolian Afol "Jedi Bob"

Darth Rey as Dev's apprentice feels so wrong about the intentional nature of aspects of this new universe. Jedi Bob!...or rather Bobolian Afol lmao (I also love how the markings seem a bit faded which signals his age). I love this cynical Jedi who sucks at fighting but is amazing at the Force...which is what a true Jedi should specialize in.

FREEMAKER LORE! THE FORCE BUILDERS ARE BACK! I love seeing them once again and hearing Bob recap them feels cathartic.

Ewok Bounty Hunters is one thing but bounty hunter C-3PO channeling his Triple 0 and HK-47 vibes in a Naboo Royal Cruiser with gold plating feels so right yet so wrong in the best ways possible. Yesi really has a lot of baggage with her wanting to prove herself and redeem herself for accidentally getting a rebel base captured.

Mos Eisley Marina made me die on the inside lmao. Tatooine isn't boring anymore lmao. I do love how this is a nod to how the BoBF and Legends mention Tatooine being once covered with oceans before becoming a desert world.

Like father like son indeed, however, even Anakin wouldn't go that far to cheat. I do love how Luke and Anakin use the same Podracer. Poor Max Rebo.

I love how Maul in this galaxy is much more relaxed and happy. At least, in this galaxy, Maul gets to live his life without the tragedies in his main galaxy life.

I love the implication that Nubs is well-known in the main galaxy that Sig knows about him. I'm incredibly confident that Darth Hammerhead is Rusty. Even in another universe, nobody remembers his name lmao.

That brief Duel of the Fates theme playing when Darth Jar Jar appeared was so hype and chilling. His line goes unironically hard.

Part III

"I know you can't restore a galaxy once it's gone because I tried to restore my own, and I failed. In the galaxy I'm from, things were simpler. I was a Padawan on Alistan Nor, learning the secrets of Force Building. I'd heard rumors about the Cornerstone. The more I read, the more obsessed I became. There were so many rules. I just wanted to do things my own way. I thought I could control the Cornerstone. I never thought -- When I left that temple, everything was different. We truly reached the pinnacle of miniaturized Death Star tech with the Dark Falcon lmao.

Darth Jar Jar definitely isn't dead and I love what little time we had with him.

I love the lights looking like the Binary Sun and the music playing as Luke looks towards them.

I love how Palpatine in this universe is a cynic who gave up on fighting. I like that fascinating take on this alternate Palpatine. The new Jedi Council (I like the faded and scratched markings similar to Jedi Bob signals their age and tiredness of a seemingly hopeless war) is insane with Jedi Vader (I love that this is a SW Infinities comic reference, it felt cathartic to see it realized in visual media), Dooku, Cad Bane, Jannah, Lobot, IG-88(?), and even Jabba. I really love that Jannah has more to do here including her actress returning to voice her.

Greedo being the Han of this universe was so funny. He even has the Rodian ears for his Slave I Firespray ship lmao.

I love how Yesi recreates the energy in TFA when she does smth incredibly insane with Greedo's ship. Sig saying I do feels like his and Yesi's "I know" moment. And a Star Trous mention. I also feel like Yesi's point of how you fix the mistake got to Jedi Bob and got to him into revealing the truth. I love how Grevious is one of the rebels in this universe.

Alistan Nor!!! THAT'S THE FORCE BUILDER WORLD AND IT WAS MENTIONED IN FREEMAKER ADVENTURES.

Damn, this Han really became just like his mentor in the old universe. A true scoundrel.

God that twist of the old universe never coming back is gut-wrenching...especially since Jedi Bob is the only survivor of his old universe. The story of Jedi Bob is beyond tragic. One simple curiosity into the cornerstone left him the only survivor. Spending all that time alone in the Temple to make sure it doesn't happen again...only for it to happen again. I also really love how the simple galaxy is represented by 4:3 aspect ratio and all LEGO figures are the classic yellow designs.

WHEN SERVO WAS DESTROYED, I FELT MY HEART BREAKING APART. God that was heartbreaking to see, just like many heroes before him in his stories, to save his friends Sig gave himself up.

Part IV

"The tales of my galaxy. The tales of people like Dev. My Dev. I don't wanna forget them. They matter." Sig Greebling

God the intro with the sad music and Servo shutting down just hurts me in ways I cannot comprehend. The collapsing logo really showcases we're in the endgame.

I love how Yoda is voiced by his Young Jedi Adventure VA in this show. It is heartbreaking to see Ian Han hate Yoda given the very first major LEGO SW special (The Padawan Menace was one of my first non-SW movie experiences in my childhood).

Even if Dev is mentally messed up, I really like how he came around to having a brother and want to be brothers. I like how Sig realizes this is all a fantasy of a galaxy he can never restore. He fights to save this galaxy now.

I'm happy Tico got to a substantial role in this show alongside Rey. Reusing the Nobody line toward Darth Rey was pretty cruel.

The space battle was shot very well and I love the designs of the Calamari Destroyers.

Dev's breakdown was pretty disturbing to see and how he took the rage and lack of happiness in his life to put his idea of "order" and to take control of his life. Especially how he sees himself as beyond redemption and the point of no return.

The quote I used for the introduction quote is beautifully anti-nihilist.

The fight is so well choreographed and so peak, especially when the brief moment the windows were destroyed and the energy shield was activated. The fact the Nerf herder stick came back to be a major turning point in the fight against Dev is great. It was heartbreaking and I got a bit misty-eyed to see Dev ultimately decide to remain evil.

My heart repaired itself as Servo was reconstructed. The old galaxy is gone but the stories will live on. And leave it for Servo to interrupt Sig and Yesi's tender moment haha.

The ending shot with the new crew really felt like the passing of the torch between the Freemaker Adventures to Rebuild the Galaxy. I hope we get to see the Freemaker cast, especially the Freemaker family on Alistan Nor.

Also, The Landolorian and Evil Grogu has been so hyped as the sequel hook alongside Darth Rey and Tico being in charge of the Empire.

This is such a great show and I can't wait to see more LEGO SW stories set in this universe.

So, it’s pretty obvious to everyone that I haven’t really been here lately. Life happens, and things changed, and I have had to come to the difficult conclusion that… my interests have changed.

Up until now, I have spent my time on this blog using icons, writing extensively, using the queue system, using a complicated tagging system, using a thread tracker, and trying desperately to keep up with every single one of my interactions. And although the writing and creating stories alongside you all has been an amazing experience, I have to take a step back, at least from the way I was doing things before.

Let me make one thing clear: I am not leaving Tumblr. I may or may not move blogs, but at this point, I’m not leaving.

However, I have decided to become a low activity, iconless, casual roleplayer. What does this mean? Well, I’m not going to have a thread tracker anymore, nor am I going to use icons. I’m not going to write in small text — or do any formatting at all, really. I’m going to start and drop threads as I wish. I’m going to answer memes at my own discretion. I’m going to only answer IMs if they don’t make me anxious. I’m going to use muses that I want to use, when I want to use them. I’m going to write with the people that I want to write with, and the people that want to write with me. I’m finally going to prioritize my own needs.

I understand that this may sound harsh. I understand that this may sound selfish. But one thing that I’ve had to learn and accept lately is that there’s a fine line between selfishness and self-care. Putting yourself first is not selfish; it’s necessary.

And if people don’t want to write with me because of this, that’s okay. And that’s something that I have to accept.

My muse list is going to become fluid, meaning that I will have a list of muses that I will write, but I will focus on the muses that I want to focus on at any given period in time. My tagging system will change; I will start to tag things much more simply. OOC posts will simply be tagged “ooc.” IC posts will simply be tagged with the muse’s name; for example, if I was writing a reply from John Kramer, it would be tagged as “john kramer,” and so on and so forth.

I hope these changes aren’t too drastic. If they are and you no longer wish to write with me, I wish you the absolute best, and I completely understand. I truly do love each and every one of you, and I’d like to personally thank you all for being a part of this amazing journey so far. And although my interests have changed, as of right now, I will still be here. You know where to find me! ❤️

Penny Pizzazz: (Badass bestie, who didn't come to play!) I don't know how someone can mentally prepare for a situation where you have to fight for your life, but Penny came ready. Somehow, she knows mixed martial arts. Somehow, she knows how to hotwire a car. When did she learn? I don't know! But by the end of the night, Penny will be one of the few survivors.

Leopold Kramer: (Ride or Die) With Leo's rough upbringing, he's learned two life lessons. Trust your gut, and you get what you give. With Leo being the biggest and a quick thinker on his feet, he would naturally fall into the leader/protector role, always making sure to listen and go with what the group wants. Loyal until the end, Leo would be the one to sacrifice his life so that the remaining survivors could get away.

Alice Murphy: (Karma is a-) Alice is every horror movie cast's worst nightmare. She fights to be in charge only to give orders that get half of the group injured or killed. She has a nasty personality and a sharp tongue. And when she finally meets her demise, there will be a roar of applause from the audience.

Tyson Johnson: (The comic relief and Fan Favorite) Ty is the funny one who tries to make light of the dire situation they're in. His death will be devastating and hilarious, and he will live on in the hearts of everyone, becoming an overused internet meme.

Graclyn Lorde: (Brat that dies first) Difficult from her first moments on screen. She's gone before anyone could miss her.

Don Lothario: (*Beep* around and find out) The number one rule in most horror films is that if you have sex, you will die. *shrugs* I don't make the rules.

Angela Pleasant: (THAT 9-1-1 operator) We all know that the cops won't show up in time because of this character. We have 3% battery left on our phone, we're pleading for help, and she's still asking us about the nature of our call. When she finally starts to do her job and asks for our location… the phone dies.

Seinfeld: 8.13 The Comeback

tws: Kramer’s subplot is about whether or not to pull the plug if he were to fall into a coma. Elaine’s subplot involves her becoming romantically intwined with a mysterious person who she doesn’t know is actually 15 years old. Jerry’s subplot involves a man having his wife attempt to seduce Jerry in order to make him keep a secret.

George tries to come up with a good comeback after someone insults him. Elaine falls in love with a mysterious employee at the video store. Kramer wants to die a certain way. Jerry takes advice from a tennis player who stinks.

After George eats too much complimentary shrimp at a work meeting, his coworker hits him with the line, “The ocean called, they’re running out of shrimp.” After the meeting, George comes up with the perfect comeback. He then spends the entire episode trying to arrange another meeting with the guy who insulted him so he can hit him with the comeback. When he finds out the guy in question was fired and now works in Akron, Ohio, he flies all the way out there and arranges a meeting with him just so he can get him with the line. The line in question? “The Jerk Store called, and they’re running out of you!” Nobody laughs, and the guy instantly responds, “What does it matter, you’re their all-time best seller!” And the meeting erupts in laughter. George, out of options, then uses a line Kramer suggested to him earlier (after he heard how bad George’s line was). George declares that he slept with the guy’s wife. He is then informed that the guy’s wife is in a coma. On the way back to the airport, he finally thinks of a better comeback, and does a 180 in the middle of the freeway so he can go back and hit the guy with his comeback. The other characters’ subplots are decent as well, but I am submitting this episode entirely because of Jerk Store.

The dub and the sub differ greatly bc of censorship and localization. Personally I prefer the English because of how. Hilarious it is? So bad it's AMAZING? But the Japanese is good too.

This account is mostly known for rottmnt memes by the very nice people who follow me for them. BUT. I also plan on posting about literally everything that captures my attention and RIGHT NOW IT'S THE TENTH SAW MOVIE THAT I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT!?!??

It's a prequel which at first I wasn't too sure about because usually I dislike prequels. But then I realized HEY, we're getting more awesome Tobin Bell as your local hypocritical serial killer John Kramer. And ALSO Shawnee Smith as Amanda Young, and what I AM MOST EXCITED AND HOPEFUL FOR IS COSTAS MANDYLOR COMING BACK AS MARK HOFFMAN.

I am HOPING that this movie is going to be just like the cheesy soap operas that I know and love. And even if it isn't, I just hope it's GOOD.

SPOILER FREE Saw X Rating and Review

Before I go too into the review, I want to say how EXCITED I was whenever I heard that a new Saw movie was coming out! Even better, I even got to meet Shawnee Smith (Amanda Young) at a convention before the movie came out. Whenever I asked her what to expect of the new movie, she said that it would be a love letter to all Saw fans. Oh, was she right.

Plot

- Does very well in following the same formula, but still making it stand out from the rest

I enjoy how this movie has gone back to its more homegrown roots. Now, I enjoy the Saw franchise as much as anybody, but as time went on and more movies came out, they got more and more out of touch. However, this movie appears to ground itself back and put more love and time into this project. While it followed the formula of testing people who may or may not deserve a second chance and adding the classic Saw twist, it still had a couple of scenes that made me drop my jaw in place.

- Throws Easter eggs to long-time fans

Now, you don’t NECESSARILY need to be a huge Saw fan to understand what is happening in the story. However, for those that have watched at least a good portion, they throw references to previous traps and quotes from past movies. I was basically the pointing Leonardo DiCaprio meme throughout the movie.

Characters

- John Kramer

Kramer is in the spotlight for this film as it follows him in the earlier stages of his Jigsaw identity. He, of course, has already done a few games so he has had practice. Even so, he is still yet to rise to the vicious and merciless man that he grows to be in later films. While other movies in the franchise have put some focus and given Kramer some depth, this movie is mainly from his point of view. It’s interesting to see his relationship/apprenticeship with Amanda further explored, and how even someone who appears to be a death god is still somehow a mortal human

- Amanda Young

Oh, my sweet baby girl. I support women’s wrongs AND rights. This movie puts a focus on Amanda’s ascension into owning the title of being Jigsaw’s apprentice. I appreciate how the movie doesn’t portray Amanda as someone cold and heartless, but someone who is trying to figure out her place in the games as someone who has been on both sides.

- Victims

The victims in this movie made me really think about second chances, and if everyone truly deserves them. While some of the victims really tugged at my heartstrings, I had to remind myself that they were there for a somewhat valid reason. Extreme? Perhaps. Despite this, they are all lumped together because of their decisions…which have consequences.

Traps

Oh the traps go HARD in this one. As a horror fan, I have seen bodies torn apart, brutal stabbing and splicings, just people getting offed each and every way. These traps add something creative to the movie and, of course, each one has their own poetic justice to it. A minor complaint I would have is that some were easier than others. While one victim would have to insanely mutilate themselves with one trap, another would still have to hurt themselves but not on the same level as the other.

Overall, a well-rated and balanced movie that I would DEFINITELY recommend to my bloodhounds!

Hiii omg I love this question haha. 😂 I actually don't watch PBA anymore. Probably 20 years ago lol and I cheered for San Miguel, as in Siegle-Ildefonso-Racela era. For UAAP naman, syempre ADMU 🦅 bc school pride keme haha. But I was such a huge blue eagles fan, as in I watched live games after school, had photos with the players, was part of the 1.0 second Doug Kramer shot vs. UST crowd! College basketball is truly insane and I miss the feeling! But I stopped being updated post-COVID.

I'm a huge NBA fan though. Phoenix Suns is my top bc of Steve Nash and idk, I just always feel it's his team even it isn't haha and I can't let it go. But I'm a Boston Celtics and GS Warriors fan as well. And I perpetually root for the teams I grew up cheering for like Kings, Mavs, and Jazz. Ikaw, what are your teams??

hiii !!! omg okay so. I just got home and I got out the cinema maybe an hour or so ago.. so this is just gonna be me emptying my brain with my first initial thoughts on it !! I might have actual formed opinion and thoughts in a few days or after a second/third viewing but ok here we go !!

anyway the beginning dragged a LITTLE bit for me because idk I was waiting for the delicious opening trap they always do and then when we finally got it, they basically edged us because it wasn’t actually happening and cut off OUGH evil. I wanted to see it so bad damn.. also - i find it interesting how in johns daydream about that man in the trap he imagined him doing it but still getting his eyes sucked out like.. my man is a sicko !! quick note, I found the idea of having them all in the same room but doing separate traps very cool, at first I wasn’t really vibing with it but actually it’s such a cool idea? like they’re a group so they must be together, and usually when they’re all in the same room and it’s a group trap that’s connected somehow they have to work together somehow even if in a small way or whatever,, but in this one they’re all gonna do their own thing and just witness each other ? really interesting I liked it a lot <3

the trap of the girlie cutting her leg off was yucky but omg.. the guy cutting his skull open and picking a bit of his brain out ? fucking insane. so fucking good. truly I thought of that gordon ramsey meme of delicious finally some good ducking food!!!!! amanda and gabriella… I just know the girlies on here are shipping it and I love that for them . <3 anyway I absolutely LOVED how amanda was really emphasising with her because like. obviously she is !!!!!!!! it was just such a good touch to add.. I love amanda so much and she is such an interesting and beloved character to me and to add her just sympathising for gabriella and putting off doing her trap and trying to really help etc was so good…. also hurt so bad seeing her do it and then that cunt of a doctor kill her anyway like. truly so sad to watch.. amanda and gabriella could’ve been murder girlfriends like ?!?!?! evil. so so evil they took that from us >:-(

the end with the little boy GOT ME SO BAD.. like he’s just a little kid who has done nothing wrong fr and seeing my my grandpa so sad was so upsetting honestly I was tearing up.. he truly didn’t imagine it to go that way and didn’t want a CHILD who was GOOD to go through something he knew was gonna be traumatic even if he knew he would be alright..like it’s a lesson I suppose for him and a moment to remember for future traps for him etc but fucking ouch. loved the kid too, the way he tried to save john because he obvs wasn’t in on it and was truly trying to save his life (because to this kid, john is just some nice old man who helped him fix his bike) made me die like he’s such a good kid, I kinda hope we get to see him grown up in a future saw movie or something ?? I’m not quite sure how they could do it but yeah loooooved that whole moment

ok and finally when john was on the phone and said the word ‘detective’ I did a little yell like I hate hoffman but obviously it was him and like.. I knew amanda was in it but had no idea about hoffman and then when WE HEARD HIM ON THE PHONE ?! I was so excited to hear his voice oh my goddd it was another moment I got emotional and teared up and during the start of the credits I even turned to my brother and we began saying how good it was etc and I said how excited that bit made me and he was like ‘lol I saw’ and then my brother said ‘bet if he was on screen you would’ve cried haha’ AND THENNNNNN !!!! end credit scene hoffman shows up and besties. BESTIES !!!!! I cried. I was just so happy and honestly I’m on my period rn so that probably has something to do with it but I was just so happy and emotional and the character I HATE made me cry. insane. obviously it just for me so off guard I wasn’t expecting it and like.. these movies mean so much to be and the past two were. Not the best to say the least,, so with this one having been so good and for it to end with such a call back and reveal of hoffman being there and involved.. so delicious <3 finally some good fucking food

also ! I got so excited hearing about the mention of the doctor overseas and the woman saying it’s her dad because surely that’s a callback to saw 6 (one of my faves !!!!!!!!!!!) where john tried to get on the experimental treatment but was denied by the life insurance people ? I’m not sure I don’t have time to fact check but if so ? beautiful <33

I fucking loved this movie. It wasn’t perfect but god it was so good, it felt like an actual saw movie again and is easily up there in my favourites of the franchise, I think I need to rewatch it before saying where I’d actually rank it and to see if my feelings on it change but yeah so fucking good.. an actual wonderful addition to the franchise and I can’t wait to see where else they go with any future saw movies if it’s gonna be on that kinda level again :-) BEAUTIFUL !!! <33 mwah mwah mwah
