D: I’m not crazy about Lawlight, either, but I’ve read a couple of great fics that made me enjoy that specific author’s interpretation of the pairing.

Kuroshitsuji: You could probably guess this without my telling you, but Sebaciel and Grelliam both receive huge “nopes” from me, though for different reasons. Any ship involving Druitt, Baron Chris, or Lord Kelvin is also an automatic nOTP, as are ships in which the Kuro kids are paired off with their guardians/servants.

Misa, Sena and I, all three of us, had returned from Hell to the mortal realm-.

Although a number of days had gone by, Sena still remained asleep.

The place where he had been stabbed was now fully healed, and it was supposed to be just a matter of him waking up....

Just as I was sighing as I gazed at the sleeping Sena-

When I turned around after feeling someone tap me on the shoulder, Misa was there, smiling at me.

‘Kureha-san said he would stay with him today, so why don’t we go out somewhere for the first time in a while?’

‘No, I’m fine staying here.’

Once I said it, Misa huffed as if annoyed and poked at my cheek.

‘Hey-’

‘You need to take a break. We may be living spirits, but we still need to make sure to keep our minds healthy.’

Letting go of my hand, Misa came to sit down next to me.

‘I get that you’re worried.  I feel the same way.....but I worry for you just as much, Koyo.’

‘...........’

I put my arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer to me.

.....Being this way calmed me down. I really was glad Misa was with me.

Sitting with her like this made me want to lean on her not just physically, but emotionally too..... 

‘.....Sena might not want to wake up.’

‘What.....?’

‘I wonder if he wants to stay holed up in dreams. I feel like he’s having a happy dream.....of when he used to be an idol.’

It was unusual for a ghost to sleep. I’d never seen anyone but Sena do it.

But he was always falling asleep. And afterwards, his memories would reset—

‘Once he’s awake, he may have forgotten again. About the fact that he’s dead.’

‘.....Then all we have to do is make him remember.’

Misa moved away from me and took Sena’s hand.

‘I’ll tell him the truth any number of times. No matter how tough it may be, I believe that he’ll be able to overcome it.....’

Looking at me, a smile rose to Misa’s face.

‘Isn’t that what you’ve always done, Koyo-san? It must have been hard for you all on your own, but now you have me. And you’ve got Kureha-san on your side too.....So it’ll all be fine. Let's all support one another.’

.....That’s, true. They were all there for me. And most importantly, I had Misa there to encourage me like this.

‘Thanks, Misa. But holding another guy’s hand is out.’

So speaking, I drew Misa towards me, detaching her hand from Sena’s.

‘Huh, but this is Sena we’re talking about?’

‘That’s got nothing to do with it.’

‘Wh-What—???’

‘Have you forgotten how jealous you made me back in Hell?’

‘Th-That was-.....I see.....I’m sorry.’

‘Just so long as you understand. Remember that I’m the only guy that you can touch. Alright?’

‘Heh-ahaha-! You’re finally back to your usual self, Koyo-san. Ah, I wonder if I should keep making you jealous from now on-’

‘Please don’t.’

‘Ahaha, I was joking.’

‘So, once Kureha-san comes here to take my place....where do you want to go?’

 ‘How about a movie? We haven’t gone to see one even once since we got back.’

‘Sounds good to me. Right now, I’m not in the mood for a horror, but something fun.’

Taking Misa’s hand in mine, I carried it towards my lips.

‘.....Well, I suppose if I’m with you, pretty much anything is fun.’

As I pressed my lips against the back of her hand, Misa blushed.

.....Too damn cute.

‘Me too.....anything is fun when I’m with you, Koyo-san.’

Unable to help myself at seeing a smile float to her face as she spoke, this time I was the one to touch her cheek —

‘Sorry to keep you waiting.’

.....Gah-! Kureha-san, read the mood already!

‘Please take good care of him, Kureha-san.’

‘Sure thing. .....-Koyo. Why are you glaring at me like that?’

‘No reason.’

Sighing, I stood up.

‘We’ll leave him to you, Kureha-san. Thanks.’

‘No problem. Take your time and make sure you get a good break.’

After that, I looked at Sena and prayed inside my heart.

—Let the dream end. Hurry up and come back.

I wasn’t sure if it was because he’d heard my prayer, but Sena woke up not long after this. Not as the idol SENA of S-CROWN, but as himself, his memories fully intact —

As I continued existing as a ghost, together with my dearly beloved girlfriend—

I was waiting to meet up with Misa for our usual rendezvous, but today she was unusually late.

.....I wonder what happened. I didn’t mind her being late, but it had been quite a while now.

Becoming worried, I went to go look for her.

Spotting her after leaving Beachfront Park, I breathed a sigh of relief.

 .....Oh, and Koyo’s with her too.

Just as I was about to run up to them-

‘I really am glad!’

As she spoke, she was holding both of Koyo’s hands.

.....Wait, what’s this? Why are you holding Koyo’s hands? And aren’t you two standing just a little bit too close??

‘.....Um hey, don’t tell Sena, alright? I want to keep it a secret until he’s ready to move on.’

.....What do you mean, “a secret”? You two plan on doing something together once I’ve moved on??

‘I think you should tell him though.....’

‘No can do. He’ll just say, “You don’t need to worry about me”.’

‘............’

Just as Misa let go of his hands, looking disappointed, this time Koyo patted her on the head.

‘Makes me kind of happy that you’re so glad for me. Thanks, Misa.’

‘Of course I would be. It’s you we’re talking about after all, Koyo.’

Hey, wait just a moment now! You’re kind of scaring me! Don’t tell me you’ve secretly gone and fallen in love with each other or something!?

—Unable to bear it, I came out to stand in front of them.

‘Now what could the two of you be talking about?’

‘-....., Sena.’

‘Ah, I’m sorry. We were supposed to meet up.....’

‘I don’t really mind about that.....What I want to know is what•you•two were talking about!’

Apparently sensing my mood, Misa looked at Koyo.

Catching her look, with a loud sigh, Koyo began to talk.

‘.....Guess I’ve got no choice.’

Once he’d told me everything, I realized just how big of a misunderstanding it was that I’d made.

-Or rather, this wasn’t the time for that.

‘Koyo, you’re alive!?’

‘Yeah, even saw myself in a coma at the hospital, so I’m sure of it.’

‘Then, why are you still here in the spirit world!?’

‘That’s-.....’

At the same time as Koyo started to trail off, I remembered.

About him telling Misa to keep it a secret until I was ready to move on. And the fact that he was always telling me to ‘Hurry up and go to heaven’.

‘Because you won’t be at peace until I’ve moved on?’

In Koyo’s case, going silent was as good as a yes.

‘I’m not sure I buy that from someone’s whose memories were always resetting up until just recently.’

‘Please leave Sena to me.’

‘Not when it comes to moving on, no.’

There was nothing I could say to that. Uugh..... Still, like I was going to give up here. Because this was the last thing I’d ever be able to do for my best friend—.

‘Hey, Misa.’

I looked not towards Koyo, but in Misa’s direction.

Truth be told, I hadn’t intended on saying it like this, I would have preferred doing it when it was just the two of us.....

‘I’m sorry for binding you here because of my regrets. There are still a lot of things I need to think through before I can settle things within myself, so would you be able to wait for me just a little while longer?’

‘No matter how long it takes, I’ll wait. So don’t put too much pressure on yourself, it’s OK to take your time.’

‘Thank you. The two of us will definitely go to the afterlife together, alright?’

‘Yes!’

Having shown our resolution to Koyo, he sighed, smiling somewhat bitterly.

‘Well, since Misa’s with you, I suppose you’ll be alright.’

‘Leave it to me!’

‘We’ll be sure to move on before your lifespan runs out, Koyo!’

‘Just how long do you plan on staying here?!’

As I watched Koyo walk away, I took Misa’s hand.

‘I wonder what will happen to us in the afterlife. If we’ll be able to stay together.....’

Heaven, the place that awaited those who had found peace and moved on—I had only ever heard about it, so had no idea what kind of place it was. Which was why I couldn’t help feeling anxious.

What if the two of us ended up being separated.....

‘Even if we end up separated, I’ll find you, Sena. .....No matter what I have to do.’

‘............’

At the last, feeling as if I’d seen something like madness inside her, I ended up feeling relieved.

‘I’ll search for you no matter what too. I’ll do whatever I have to.’

If we could be together, even if it meant going mad for love, we would be able to find happiness.

Koyo, I feel as if I could finally be at peace now....

9 R.I.P. - Kureha Heavenly End After Story

On a certain day, a little while after Misa had become a ghost and we had begun to live together—.

Today, as a breather, we had come out to the shopping mall in front of the train station so I could introduce her to my friend, Koyo, but-…..

For some reason, she seemed to have an interest in him.

Supposedly what she was interested in was his ability to sense spirits, but I, too, had a sense for spirits that was just as good as Koyo’s…or should have anyway. Probably. Maybe.

Hahh…..I was beginning to wonder whether letting her and Koyo meet was such a good idea after all.

‘Hey, Kureha-san. Look, over there. There’s someone staring right at us…..’

‘Hm…..?’

Misa calling out to me, when I looked towards where she was pointing-…..

—Koyo.

Speak of the devil…..no, he was exactly the person we had been looking for.

‘Let’s go, Misa. That’s Koyo. I’ll introduce you.’

‘Sure, I’ve been wanting to meet him.’

She’d been “wanting to meet him”…..

As if trying to rid shake away the murky feeling that had appeared in my chest, I waved to Koyo, beckoning him over.

‘I’ve been looking for you.’

‘That’s unusual. Don’t often see you bring anyone along with you either.’

‘Yeah, it hasn’t been that long since she became a ghost. I brought her with me today thinking I could introduce her to you since you’re a friend.’

‘Hm~m, a friend, am I.’

‘Nice to meet you. I’m Misa Isshiki. I hope we can be good friends too.’

‘Same here. That uniform…are you a Narimigahama High student?’

‘Yes, that’s right. I’m a second year student…..—’

As the two of them began a conversation, I did my best to act the composed observer but…..on the inside, I felt unsettled.

Now that I thought about it, I’d never really seen her talk with other guys before.

No, I had seen her speak with Hibiki, but this situation felt somehow different…..

—While I was fretting, the conversation between the two of them continued.

‘Koyo-san, you knew Kureha-san even before you were a ghost…..or rather, you sensed him, didn’t you?’

‘Yeah, sure did. I was a student at Narimigahama High too. I was aware of Kureha-san’s presence ever since then.’

‘That’s amazing. Ah, but…..now that I think about it, I might have sensed Kureha-san as well while I was still alive…..although it was only the once.’

‘So you’ve got the spirit sense too. Guess we’ve got something in common.’

‘Heheh- I suppose so.’

Aren’t you guys getting awfully chummy rather quickly?

Her encounter with me had been a different matter, I hadn’t expected them to get so friendly quite so soon.

‘Hey, since we’re already here, why don’t we go see a movie together, all three of us? There’s a new one they started showing just today. Ah, are you alright with horror, Misa?’

‘”M-Misa”—!?’

I’d been so taken by surprise it had ended up coming out in my voice, by the time I realised it, it was already too late.

‘…..Kureha-san, what’s wrong?’

‘Ah, it’s nothing…..I was just thinking I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go if it was a horror movie, hahaha…..’

‘Ah, I see. That’s right.’

I thought it’d been something of a strained excuse, but unexpectedly it looked as if she’d believed me.

Still, that Koyo…..I hadn’t thought he’d be calling her by her first name right from their first meeting…..And I’d even gone and made it obvious how jealous I was. Good grief.

‘Koyo, I’m sorry, but about that movie…..’

Just as I went to speak, I realised. That Koyo's eyes were mischievous as he looked at me.

Koyo clapped a hand to my shoulder and murmured in my ear.

‘…..I’m happy for you, Kureha-san.’

So speaking, he went to walk past us.

‘Let’s leave it at that for today. See you later, Misa-chan.’

—!

‘Ah, yes. Goodbye.’

‘Oh, that’s right. Kureha-san, just so you know, I’ll be coming over to make fun of you again tomorrow.’

‘Hmph-, that won’t be necessary.’

As I watched Koyo walk away, I was internally apologising to him.

If this was going to happen, I should have just told you from the beginning. About Misa being the person I love.

‘Koyo-san is a good person, isn’t he? He really gets you, Kureha-san.’

‘…..Don’t tell me you knew what he was doing all along?’

‘I guessed it when he called me “Misa-chan” just before he left. Also, what he said about “coming over to make fun of you”…..Hehe-’

‘When Koyo comes to visit tomorrow, I want to make sure I explain about you to him properly…..would that be alright? I’ll tell him how important you are to me, and that I’m deeply in love with you.’

Her eyes widened slightly, and her cheeks were red as she smiled.

miss fafar, as someone inspired to get 9r.i.p because of your liveblogging, do you have a route order you'd recommend playing so far?

YIPPEE tbh theres no Real Route order so i basically just start with who i like n go from there haha

this game does have arcs tho and they have diff genres:

1. scary ghost stories: kureha and hibiki. (def the arc with the most horror w jumpscares n unnerving scenes)

2. urban legends: sena and koyo (sad for sena and thriller for koyo)

3. other realm: seiya and minami (angst and possibly the more dramatic one in terms of romance)

5. spirit realm: kuroha and yukimaro (literally a romantic comedy. the lighthearted arc of them all and actually kinda resolves misas main issue)

what i did is i unlocked each arc through 1 love interest and move to the next arc. i started with kuroha so imagine my giddiness n teeheeing when i played his route then got slapped with horror and shock when i started the scary ghost story arc lol

long story short: do any order with this game! there is a secret short route which can be unlock after doing yukimaro minami and...uh....i forgot but ya one of those guys hahaha

surprisingly enough i didnt speedrun any route in the game. tho i hv to admit i almost dozed off in yukimaros route bt the routes calmness + my drowsiness + 2 am were more of the reasons haha

i enjoy it! i still love tht each arc has diff genre and its so startling different. your feelings towards the game will be based on who you started n who you ended

routes?? honestly theyre great. tho arent as memorable or screenshot worthy for me n sometimes the buildup kinda slow, i still like every min of it.

so fav routes uhhh seiya > hibiki > toka > kuroha > koyo > minami > sena > kureha (his route all coz of the pontianak. fucking hell) > yukimaro

also misa. lmao. girl. she be goin thru it. love tht this game took the term good ending n twist it in a way we didnt realize

def enjoyed it. 9/10. will be waiting for the sequel
