Ben 23. I just love the little brat, because he's an interesting take on a what if, and they handle him well. He doesn't come across as annoying, and you get to know a lot about him. Especially since he's one of the few alternate Bens to get development, and I love his dynamic with Ben Prime, and I love the idea of him living with Tetrax, Azmuth and SevenSeven. Would have been great to see an episode of just him and those three, see what they're life together is like.

💥:Favourite B10 Villian. Hands down, Zy'skayr. Most villains have the issue of poor writing from the start, or later down the line, and while he's not perfect, at least he keeps his creepy and eerie feeling with him all the time. He can make a presence, and his debut episode was just amazing. Him, Ben and Vilgax have the same feeling as Peter Parker, Green Goblin and Carnage. In that when Peter has to fight Green Goblin, sure it's bad, but you kind of get use to it. Meanwhile when Carnage is around, that's when it feels very serious and dark. Even if I really didn't like the Anur Arc in Omniverse, I was still entertained by Zy'skayr. 🎶:List off some songs you think fit certain characters/relationships. I could feel the kind of class she radiates, the type of people she deals with and how she has gracefully accepted her place. When you touched upon her relationship with Cassiel especially, I could feel the brokenness of a girl who just wanted to cherish what little hope she had for a marriage she was expected to fulfill. Head canons:

THE HOUSE OF ROSES; the rosiers have always been proudly traditional. it’s why maxima has always followed things to the letter – it’s been ingrained into her very dna. and what reason would she have to stray from that? the specific rules and expectations she follows have been set forth by her ancestors and her society to serve her best interests. her rearing, her schooling, even her marriage were all arranged in a way that she would reap the benefits in the end. no one, or thing for that matter, can will her into believing anything but. she may be called stubborn and naive by those who don’t understand, but strict tradition has kept her family in their revered position for centuries and maxima expects them to stay in that position for centuries more.

A LOVE LOST; if you were a close friend of maxima’s and asked her if she genuinely loves cassiel, she’d tell you a round-about way of saying no, she currently does not. of course, that isn’t to say that she once didn’t hold the capacity to love him, nor does that mean that she wasn’t open to the idea of falling in love with him. it just means that at the time they got married, they had shared a companionship that she had hoped could have bloomed into something more somewhere down the road. perhaps even with their first child. however, the affair smothered that hope, wrecking nearly every chance maxima could have had at a romantic relationship with her husband.

MY DEAREST DARLING; although maxima is the only rosier stateside, her younger brother resides back home in england. a pretty little thing at only fourteen years old and the center of maxima’s affections. she often sent him parcels from america along with a letter that always ended with a lipstick mark and the wish that she could send for him in the summers if her parents would allow for it. lately, the letters home have become more of how she misses britain, recalling fond memories of her childhood but not outright saying she wants to go back. no, she’s not a quitter, and if anything she wants to see this through. in the meantime, the letters to her young brother are cathartic, and she knows at least with him, she has someone in her corner.

THE SLEEPING DRAGON; slytherin house was the only logical hogwarts house for maxima – or any of the rosiers for that matter – to be sorted in to. it meant showcasing her intellect as the star pupil, building her sociability as a well-loved peer, and reinforcing the idea that she was perfect as the head girl. it wasn’t so much as her ambition as it was her expectation to be all of these things. she wanted her reputation at hogwarts to shine a light on all the good slytherin house can be, all the while making her family proud.

A WELL-TRAVELED WOMAN; as one of the most wealthy families in the wizarding community, it made sense for the rosiers to be stationed all around the world. not only did it display the exorbitant amount of money the rosiers had but it also connected them to those far-off places. this allowed maxima to grow up traveling the world to visit relatives, both close and distant. this also allowed maxima to be more or less raised abroad, spending her early childhood in france at the rosier ancestral palace, and spending school holidays between the countryside of japan and the islands of the philippines.

how could he? how could he degrade himself so much to lie with a mutt like her? how could he, when he had a perfectly perfect pureblood wife at home? how could he, when she gave him two years of her life only to be made a fool of when a pitying socialite drunkenly spilled the secret into her ear? how could he do this to her?

it wasn’t even the fact that maxima had been in love with cassiel – no, their marriage was one of politics and alliances, a duty to their families to join together faithfully – it was that he had even dared to defile their vows in the first place. is there no sanctity in marriage anymore?

she wasn’t heartbroken. she wasn’t destroyed. she was angry. and utterly humiliated. sooner or later word will reach back to europe and who will be seen at fault for his infidelity? maxima, of course. because no matter how perfect of a society witch she was, no matter how beautiful the dresses she puts on, nor how high the position of the people she conversed with – none of that will matter because she had apparently not been enough to satisfy her husband. to keep him in line.

and for those very reasons, maxima couldn’t even leave him if she wanted to. a divorcee in the circle of people she and her family surrounds themselves in? the rosiers would lose any credibility they ever had and maxima wouldn’t be able to remarry. after all, who would want used goods?  

so she sheds her tears. she finds comfort in her friends. she curls her lips in a sneer at the adultress. she doesn’t sleep in the same bed as her husband anymore. she does what she can to save face and to keep some semblance of her dignity. maxima will not be the broken, scorned wife wallowing in self pity while her husband gallivants with a harpy. no. maxima knows she has the upper hand on the situation.

she knows he’s as trapped in this marriage as she is, and she intends to exploit that. she wants him to hurt as much as she does. she wants him to feel as betrayed as she does. she wants him to pay for what he’s done, one way or another, to feel a little remorse for what he’s done. then maybe, just maybe, she’ll forgive him.
