Kormac winces as Jin takes hold of his jaw, forcing the man to tilt it to the side. The Wizard leaned forward to get a better inspection of the gash that swept across his brow.

Jin reached up with his other hand, and placed it on the wound. The Templar sucks in a breath through gritted teeth as the skin begins to stitch back together again. 

“There, that wasn’t so bad,” Jin says flatly, a rie smile on his face. He pulls back, lets his arms drop to the side, and looks at the Templar. Giving the man a once over just to be sure there weren’t anymore injuries that needed mending.

Kormac only hums in response, ignoring the lingering warmth where Jin’s hands had been. 

It never got easy, the feeling of magic being able to heal his wounds. For so long, he was fine with the traditional methods. Though Kormac’s stomach still dropped at the sight of needles and thread no matter how much time has passed.

So perhaps dealing with the alternative made things easier in his heart. 

“You should be more careful, you know,” The Wizard scolds, which makes Kormac look up, and a low chuckle rumbles from his chest. 

”Last I checked, not everyone is as skilled in the Arcane as you.“ He replies. But when he takes in the other’s expression, it gives him pause. The worried lines that etch onto his forehead, the tired eyes that watch him. And whatever quip Kormac wanted to say fell silent.

”I-,“ Kormac begins, but Jin was quick to cut him off - raising a hand.

“It is alright my friend.” The Wizard states, and Kormac leaves it at that. Better to have this topic die off than have it divulge into something a lot more personal. Something that they don’t have the time for. Even sitting here in the aftermath of their recent expedition, they don’t have time. 

Silence fills the space between the two, thick, uncomfortable, and The Templar can practically hear the gears in the other’s head turning. So he jumps in to stop them.

“I was going to add was, thank you.” He says and now it’s time for Jin to look stalled. Which makes his lips curl up in a triumphant smile. 

Bringing a hand to his mouth, Jin clears his throat, eyes darting around to find anything else that was interested in the small space they were in. ”We should head back into town, I’m sure the others would want to know what we found here.“ 

In the short time that Kormac has known the Wizard, subtlety was not the man’s strong suit. But he knows better than to tease the other about it now. So he keeps whatever he wants to reply back behind his lips and stands up from the crate he’s been resting on.

His own cheeks burn in embarrassment and clears his own throat.

“That would be a good idea.” He states.

They drop the subject and search for the exit portal. The awkward air still lingering as they leave.

I've always mained the Necromancer in Diablo. In D3 my preferred follower was the Templar, Kormac. I loved his voice 🥵 and his storyline. His dialogue was great.

So I discovered this one fic that was female necromancer x Kormac that was sooooooo well written. My god. Four exquisite chapters and then it was never updated. I've been rotating it in my brain since 2019. 20fucking19.

They even included the Half-Formed Golem. 🥺

Second Sunday fic drop in a row! Sorry it’s super fucking dark again. XD 

I am playing Diablo 4 (no spoilers please) and loving the hell out of it, but I’m not far enough through the storyline yet to have any concrete ideas for fic regarding that game. It did, however, reactivate my longstanding obsession with the series and inspire me to dust off this beauty, a partially written fic from long ago about my beloved Diablo 3 OC, a demon hunter named Ishara. 

You know that post that’s been going around again lately about people who see themselves as weapons, and that other one about people who decide that they’ve already died and that they have to do what ghosts do and exist solely for vengeance? Yeah. Ishara is not a particularly happy character, but I do love her so much, lol.

T - They aren't static things, even if they might not properly be called souls, the personae given form. Even the remnants, fractured though some are, are more than just memory impressed upon the world.

E - Even if the other branches were not so eager to follow- and he doubts that Reni, for one, would, though Bak might- he could take the exorcists and leave.

Favorite Childhood Book: i DID have one true actual favorite childhood book and it was the riddlemaster trilogy by patricia a mckillip (all one book in the same way lotr is the same book, you know) and everyone should read it right neow. it's not a children's book despite being old as balls and from my childhood but it IS a very complex adult fantasy series and it's really fucking good.

Currently Reading: RE-reading the riddlemaster trilogy lol and lote by shola von reinhold which everyone should also read but ESPECIALLY if you've ever been on that dark academia (derogatory) bullshit. GO READ LOTE!

Currently Watching: nnnngnnng mononoke 2007 and leverage s2 i think? and partway thru a very scattered and out of order xmen re-run
