i completely forgot about this ask so i apologize for the long ass wait, but here ya go !!

— described the same way as he’s depicted before the loss of his first wife. the perfect example of house targaryen. a prince with a ferocious dragon, but who is also an even-tempered man. he is loved by all for his integrity, his selflessness, and his sense of justice. however, they came up with plenty of falsities for rhaegor disappearance as no one had seen or heard from him in eight years. mushroom believes he flew beyond the wall and spent his time with the wildlings. others claimed he resided on the outskirts of dorne to be near the southern sea. though, no one will ever know the truth of his whereabouts except korinna. upon his return to king’s landing, mushroom writes of rhaegor accordingly on his drunken foolishness and rude behavior. yet, when rhaegor the news unexpectedly came out of the ruined prince falling madly in love with princess rhaenyra’s favored servant with a bastard’s name, that’s when the inaccuracies start to occur. mushroom writes on how the high lords claimed rhaegor as been bewitched by a common-born whore and is no longer fit as the royal hand of the king. there would be no mention that korinna was the only person to make rhaegor feel whole again, to gently guide him away from his trauma so he could love again, marry again, and bore children. once the targaryen prince married his lover, all sense of honor and nobility were erased from history.

— if you think rhaegor was bad, my poor baby has it way worse. again, described similarly in the beginning, though not much thought or information was put into hers. mushroom wrote of her unknown lineage, the many years she spent as the former queen consort’s servant and specifically passed down onto princess rhaenyra per one of aemma’s final requests. not much is known of her since she’s really seen as just a bystander for many years. until the green wedding where her illicit affair with prince rhaegor is accidentally revealed by the noble lords and ladies of westeros. and that’s when it all goes downhill. she is depicted as a whore, a power hungry seductress who used the targaryens ( aemma, rhaenyra, and rhaegor ) to raise her status. she is relentlessly viewed as someone she is not, and history will not ever mention who she truly was, sadly. they wouldn’t write about her unwavering loyalty to rhaenyra, her fierceness and gentle heart, or what a wonderful mother she was. she was a woman who came from nothing and gained everything one could ever desire in westeros. and yet, she will never be remembered as such.

hi love! curious about your thoughts re: gaunter o'dimm and raphael- similarities/differences? i went a bit nuts in the tags on a raphael post about how he makes me think he and gaunter are 2 sides of a spectrum of devilry. what do you think?

Ooh I never thought about that! Both are very charismatic and both get what they want or try to with a quid pro quo.

Gaunter doesn't even hide his dangerousness and has no qualms killing an innocent man with a spoon through his eye. Or being creepy in the first meeting. Raphael just shows his cambion form and you know he's up to no good.

Raphael doesn't need to show you he can be deadly by killing someone in front of you. His demeanor and charismatic lilt are enough of a proof. He knows people crawl back to him.

Gaunter is a sly fix tho! He hides in disguises and follows Geralt around. Sometimes he doesn't need to hide but gets overlooked anyway. He can be the contractor, then someone visiting a gallery etc while Raphael has Korinna doing his dirty work of spying.

The Master Mirror is already fishy in the beginning. Knowing whom Geralt is looking for. It sends a chill down your spine. He saves Geralt from a certain death thus having perfect leverage.

Raphael just dangles a carrot in front of you. Take it or leave it. It's your choice. But if you choose to infiltrate his "home" and read the diaries you see how evil he can be. Looking at Hope alone suffices.

Gaunter took advantage of a man who was desperate to rid himself of debt. Made him immortal and turn his heart to stone. Raphael just wants you or Astarion if you play as him to kill the orthon. No hidden agenda. He doesn't even sugarcoat the price of the contract Cazador made with Mephistopheles. He takes glee in the diabolical nature but that's a given.

There's so much to analyse that I haven't thought about. Thanks for the ask!

GT July 2024 - 7 Overbearing

“No.” Ervin turned away from his daughter on his desk.

“Dad, it’s just a party.”

“I said ‘no’ Esther.” Ervin couldn’t look. If he looked at her, he’d see the pain on her face. Worse, she might see the pain on his.

“Why not?” Her voice came from a different angle.

Ervin turned in his seat to avoid her. “Because I said so.”

“Dad, that works for Darius, but I’m not a squirt anymore. If you won’t let me go, okay, but I don’t understand why not.”

Ervin squeezed his eyes shut. Maybe that would keep the tears from falling. She was just too much like her mother. Aside from looks, she had the same understanding and caring nature.

“Dad? What’s wrong?”

Ervin opened his eyes and saw that Esther had come around the walkways. As a protogiant, Esther was still much smaller than an adult. For now, it was still faster for her to use the walkways than to walk and climb. Though they wouldn’t be able to bear her weight for much longer.

“Mom?” Esther asked.

Ervin nodded.

“We’ll find her Dad.”

“I know.” Ervin breathed in and got control of himself. “You’ll have friends at the party?”

Esther nodded. “Sage, Drew, Onyx, and Opal”

“Fine.”

“Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!” Esther leaped off the walkway.

Ervin caught her, holding her tight to his chest. “Just be safe.”

Esther hugged him as much as she could. “It’s just a party. What’s the worst that could happen?”

Ervin doesn't try to be overbearing, but it's a bit hard when you're thirtyish feet taller than your daughter. It doesn't help when Korinna isn't around anymore.

It's been nearly two months since the party arrived in Guldoon. At first, Korinna had been overjoyed to get a bit of downtime, as it had afforded her the opportunity for some much needed rest, as well as time to familiarize herself with her new surroundings & begin Cat's training. All important things that absolutely needed to happen. However, as of late, the Dragonborn has been itching to get back to work.

Not wanting to bother her compatriots until she found something truly worth their time, Korinna started out looking for odd, low difficulty jobs around town. Clearing out various pest infestations, fetching & delivering goods for some high-end shops, assisting & protecting some of the fishing boats that operated in the MASSIVE river that runs by the city, manual labor at the docks & warehouses, & even providing a little extra muscle for certain high-end locations. Though she wasn't particularly discerning when it came to the work, most of these opportunities did have some benefits besides just the pay.

Establishing a good reputation around town, for instance, was quite important. And, while their party still needed a name, Korinna knew she could get them more work if they were at least somewhat well known & well liked. Certain stores, such as Eckhart's Apothecary & Memoria's Emporia, were absolutely vital connections for aspiring adventurers (especially if they might be convinced to offer a discount). And, while she didn't fully understand what exactly went on within the incredibly lavish, chateau-esque structure that paid her quite handsomely for her security services, the Dragonborn was all too happy to toss any potential trouble-makers out on their ass if they started harassing the pretty folks inside. Though she couldn't understand why anyone would want to bother such incredibly friendly people. Or why Miss La Grande, the owner of the establishment. asked if she'd be interested in more 'intimate" work, whatever that meant...

Of course, there was also the matter of the Cult. While she & her compatriots had managed to snuff it out before it grew too large, they'd found a letter within the ruins that indicated someone else had been behind the whole thing. Someone pulling the strings from behind the scenes. While Korinna wasn't much of an investigator, she knew she could at least start by asking around town. And, while she hadn't found anything yet, she wasn't about to give up.

Jason was tired.

Not just from the dungeon, though that was tiring. He was tired from the level-up process.

He was pretty sure the girls didn't have character sheets. At least, if they did they wouldn't know about them. But he did, so he knew that was why his patron had.... Rewarded him. So thoroughly.

He'd gone up to level eight, hurray!

And he'd been enveloped in a writhing mass of black tentacles that had exploded out of his orb spell focus shortly after defeating the weird cult losers.

When the tendrils had receded, he was an exhausted mess. He was also slightly... Shorter?

He was definitely shorter. Fareem hadn't been that close to his height before, but at least he was taller than she was. So yeah, he was shorter, and all the cuter for it.

Why the fuck was he shorter? Why was that the reward?

It didn't matter. What mattered was that they did their first dungeon-crawl as a team and came out the other side with only a few bumps and bruises along the way. And a few fun stories to share with bards.

This new town of Guldoon was something of a boon for Jason. He was getting tired of the sheer press of Waterdeep, and the relative isolation of the little village Korinna had been staying in. Sure, he still had his room in Waterdeep all paid up for a few more months, and he would use that one if he wanted to commune directly with his patron(Like maybe asking about his HEIGHT), but he was happy to hang out with his new friends. Good company. Present company.

Not people he left behind and might never see again.

Of course he might never see these people again if he ever went back home.

But following that spiral would only lead to misery and madness, so Jason made use of his secret skill(repression) and went to go take a nap in the bed. He'd talk to the others later, about stuff.

Different stuff. Like Fareem's passing out... Or maybe Korinna's odd relationship with her god. Or maybe they'd just all go party it up to celebrate stopping a nascent cult and getting their names on the proverbial board.

So..for the cute babybones. What do they do for fun with the horror bros? Like the horror bros are babysitting the two while Dust and MC are on a date or something.

Well, Lunar with cook/bake with both of them though it's mainly Korinna interested in learning. Though she's a bit nervous about it, but Uncle Lunar makes it fun! He'll also play with them, he makes a pretty good jungle gym himself and the view from up on his shoulders is amazing! He may not always be the fastest, but he has plenty of energy to keep up with them. And tire them out.

Grey isn't that active, he's not able to keep up with them as much as Lunar is. But he is able to play a bit. Calmer things like coloring and such. Plus he makes the best cuddle buddy for tired babybones, he'll read them to sleep too. His voice is low and soothing enough that it's easy for them to conk out right there, which is nice for when they both need a break.

Show what are your thoughts Lucario mega evolving, and Ash getting a mega ring?

As weird as this sounds, I'm both surprised and not surprised. It's like something that we should've seen coming from a long time, but did't really expect it 100%. I guess the main reason why I didn't totally expect it was because I initially thought Journeys would be specifically Gen. 8-centered (which doesn't have Mega Evolutions), but nowadays, it's plain to see that the series is not just focusing on Gen. 8 aspects, but other content as well, such as Pokemon GO and World Championships.

Anyways, I think it's something to look forward to. Lucario obtaining a Mega Stone would re-emphasize its supposed status as Ash's ace for Journeys, especially since it's been rather out of focus lately and pretty much every single other Pokemon on Ash's team that's not Gengar has additionally done way more impressive things for a while. Obviously, I'm hoping for some well-animated battles with Mega Lucario, like a good redemption match against Bea and maybe a Mega-v-Mega duel against Cynthia and her Garchomp. It could also potentially lead to Lucario showing more character, as well as have him interact more with Ash and any of his teammates, since he's honestly been quite the blank slate since he evolved.

Like, when he was a Riolu, he was cute, ambitious, caring, interactable, an actual character! And nowadays, he's just the same generically stoic Lucario no different from Sir Aaron's, Maylene's, Riley's, Korrina's, Gurkinn's, and Sorrel's. C'mon, man!

One thing I'm really hoping that doesn't get screwed up will be Ash and Lucario's development with Mega Evolution. While Ash himself is obviously deserving of a Mega Ring due to helping in saving Kalos, Misty and Brock already having Keystones of their own, and c'mon guys look how many series of Pokemon we have at this point, it's gonna be incredibly jarring of the two just master the whole ability without any issue. I mean, back at XYZ, we SAW how Korrina and her own Lucario struggled with mastering Mega Evolution. At least something remotely similar should be done with this. If they just mastered it automatically, then it would just feel forced and undeserved, just like when Goh and Raboot were hand-gifted a Dynamax Band during the Darkest Day.

oooo interesting! they have a nine year age gap, which isn’t too bad in the world of asoiaf, but their dynamic is too familial for it to be a romantic pairing. i know the targaryens don’t care about that snjsjsjdjsn but they’re like sisters to me so definitely not anything other than platonic lol

People are pretty quick to name a pre-Odin droid for Uno “Uno Ducklair” but what if Everett wasn’t even asked beforehand and he just drops by Duckburg and Scrooge is like “I don’t like your son” because of course Scrooge instantly dislikes anyone that hogs Donalds attention and Everett is like “wait, my what now”.

...Which also introduces the issue of a potential marriage of any kind because naturally Uno is the only heir to Ducklair Enterprises since Korinna and Juniper are considered missing/dead on earth and Donald is considered to be Scrooges heir by the media since Della being declared deceased took her right out of the medias eyes and he is pretty well-known already so that would basically mean fusing two of the wealthiest families on the planet.

And Omega is even more confused/secretly jealous because if he had known that Everett would be so chill he might’ve declared himself family of his too instead of picking a random name for his human persona.

Korinna.... ‘princess wants to be a pirate, cant swim so when she gets thrown off a boat she drowns. Cthulhu is like ‘yo u wanna? not die’ n shes like ‘fk yea’ then its like. PSYCH U OWE ME now’

euphie is ‘local hermit explores the outside world only turning into a bear occasionally (which she thinks is Very Reasonable)’

n alders is just like. fk idk ‘sad dude has a shitty family and wants to travel’

korinna acid burned a guy’s face off once n she routinely like. Drowns ppl n cool eldritch shit?? Alder has never done anything cool in his life ever, euphie can shapeshift. Kael is a killstealing shit w/ a bow so he. Does that a lot. that’s not badass tho that’s just Annoying

What would Bell and Korinna's favorite foods be? And would MC bake/cook it for them all the time or for special occasions?

Korinna's favorite food is actually the spaghetti Dust will make on occasion. She likes her mom's too, but she favors Dust's.

Bell likes when Mc makes meatball subs the best. Especially when a certain one of her "uncles" help. She does really like the hotdogs Dust, Grey, and a certain other uncle will occasionally make though. She likes the animal faces.

Mc does take her children's requests into mind when making a meal, but she doesn't want to make the same thing every day. Dust won't cook all that often, but he will always make Korinna some spaghetti for special occasions or if she's had a really bad day.
