he can see the displeasure manifest on her face. the war of the compliment versus some invisible naysayer tripping her every thought. her question surprises him. kori is a great very many things, and dick had always seen bravery interwoven in her very being. in the way she fights, in the way she loves her friends, in the way she will always, always defend those who most need it, and he'd always assumed she had some super-ability to never doubt her undeniable skill. that that confidence was just a side effect to being so strong-willed and having fought so hard to be. it feels like a great slight to his detective skills that he might've missed the most human of emotions. the failing of a friend who should have known better. dick thinks about his answer for a moment, eyes tracing the lines of her face like he might find some thoughtful insight there. to him, to the titans, to all the people she's saved, she will always be brave. but he knows, intimately the stress of their lifestyle. that if they don't seem brave, if they play in to all their fears, that they will somehow lose it. dick's answer is steady, then: " you just have to be who you are. " who dick sees slicing the sky with her firebolts and holding buildings up until the very last civilian is safe. the acrobat places a reassuring hand on her shoulder. he may second guess a lot of things: his own leadership skills, his commands, his most crushing fails and most ardent successes, but he has never once questioned her BRAVERY. " you look like a hero. " he answers, hoping some of his own faith in her might transfer. but his brow furrows a little in thought. running through their missions like a rolodex, trying to figure out where this is coming from and how he can help. his voice is laced with concern and understanding when he asks " why don't you feel brave? Have any of your listener designs become the canon version? And for who if so?

Listeners are definitely tricky as they're supposed to be audience stand ins, BUT there have been a few cases where my listeners have become the VAs personal canon!

First one that comes to mind is Faith Koria from @goodboyaudios Bastard Warrior!

I came to GB with the concept that she had more African features, and he loved the idea and made it canon to his canon! Hence why the official art of her brother is also black! Now that Faith has an official voice, she's more of a character then a listener. So you can consider this art accurate to her character!

Another option would be Raven from @escapedaudios Neon Noir, but that's a more complicated story

I headcanoned that Raven got a Crow tattoo on her back, shoulder and neck to memorialize Crow at the end of the series and going into Neon Wings. Escaped really liked the idea! but my headcanons had already infected enough of that series and I felt bad, so I asked him to not include that one lol You can blame a lot of Ivan's look and backstory on me though! I came up with his birds and their names, his prosthetic leg, and his actual design!
