Next week will be 4.5 (including a MINE run of Orbonne Monestary, where we will be attempting to do it with 15 people, and failing that we'll be doing it with 18), and then the following week or so we'll be doing Eureka and Heaven on High! We're closing in on Shadowbringers, folks!

08.00 – things he wished he could change about himself

One of the best things about Levi is the fact that this is a person, who was born unfortunate, and had to overcome a lot of grievance in his life, yet still he managed to persevere and had his heart to the betterment of humanity with no ulterior motive. He had fought and lost a lot of things close to his heart for what he believed would bring them to ‘peace’, despite the fact that he was never acquainted with the idea of peace itself ever since he was born. Imagine how pure this man’s heart is by the fact that Levi could persevere that long for nothing but an obscure idea in his mind that he never had grasped before.

So, naturally, in order to keep fighting, Levi had come to the point where he had a lot of self-acceptance for himself. He had grown past the need to change himself, for he already understood that the energy he spent grieving for things he could not change, were energy wasted when he could use it to do better things for the humanity that he cared for. Sure, there were years in his life where he wished he wasn’t mocked for his height, or his uptight nature. But to be humanity’s strongest soldier, one has to have the utmost awareness of one’s strength and weakness, and Levi was very well aware of his qualities as much as he had embraced it. He knew where he lacked, so he could devise moves and strategies to patch the areas where he would be susceptible in. And that’s why he always excelled against someone like Zeke, because Levi accepts his flaws and learns not to ignore or deny it, but rather makes adjustment in form of strategic thinking and hard work to make up for it. Levi is far from being conceited, he knew the goal of his effort was not himself, but rather the world around him, so he’d learned to accept of who he was and who he will always be.

11.00 – their choice of music and their favorite musicians

We knew that Levi had dreamed of having his own tea shop once the war ends, but he also had the dream of building a warm, comfortable home he never had growing up. He’d always dreamed of a breezy home, with sun rays shining through large windows – something that was nothing but imagination for a man growing up in the underground.  And with the idea of a homely dwelling, also came the idea of melodious tunes that would seep throughout the room of his cottage-like house. Tunes that he’d listen to serenely, as he sips his self-brewed tea. He’d want something comforting. Music as sweet and as temperate as his tea.

In the modern!au, he would listen to classic jazz or big band jazz when he’s feeling upbeat, but overall it’d be old-timey songs that evoked a keen sense of nostalgia. If you visit him in his home, you’d be greeted with the likes of Nat King Cole, and Billie Holiday, or even older tunes from Bessie Smith, while Levi’s around and about in the house; cleaning, cooking, or working on a new project – the music would never stop playing. It would take a while for Levi to open his front door when you come visit, because he’d be so kept-up with his work and with the music playing all through the house.

Levi is definitely the type to have a particular song that he’d play every day at specific time of the day. He does not have a lot of expression, so he’d need some kind of output to display how he’s feeling, and he does it through the music that he listens to. When he wakes up feeling giddy, he’d put ‘Those Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer’ by Nat King Cole, and probably dance a little with his broomstick, but only strictly when no one is around except his cat to watch. Levi would also have a specific tuned he’d play when he’s cooking, mostly Bessie Smith’s songs. Levi would never sing it though, for he knows he’s not good at carrying tunes, he’d just hum, as he stirs the stew in the pot. If Levi had any song to play during intimate time with his significant other, he would definitely choose ‘I’m A Fool to Want You’ by Billie Holiday and ‘The Very Thought of You’ by Nat King Cole.

He’s the type of person who’d like to put his hands into good use – he brews his own tea, builds his own furniture, and plays music exclusively on turn-table’s vinyl. Not because he was pretentious (like Zeke), but he’d enjoy the process of it. He would have a closet dedicated to store all his vinyl collections that no one knew before. In fact, no one would ever guess that Levi’s big with music for he never talked about it. They’d just assume that this seemingly cold man finds music irritating, when actually his heart is full of tender melodies – he would just never utter it out, because music is his personal enjoyment, not his outward hobby and interest. In conclusion, Levi is alike to a cat, he might appear mean and cold, but inside he is awfully domestic.

20.00 – how do they sleep at night with you?

This man is so meticulous about the arrangement of his sleep, especially when you’re in an established relationship, before you spend the night, he would want to know whether this is the type of sleep that’s meant for sleeping cause, or is this another alternative where one of you’d end up panting and coming. Whenever you inform him that you’re coming over, he’d be blunt and asked, “Should I prepare?” which by any means, he’s asking whether he’s gonna get laid or not. Answering no would be the answer he looks forward to most times, because you’re dealing with a very busy man with very little amount of sleep – he’d like to keep you around, to have your scent and warmth lingering around his bedroom for days on end, but not so much on having sex. Before you come over, he’d make sure to change the sheet, open new reed diffuser, and stock up your favorite snacks. He’d cook a little too, maybe small finger foods that you’d munch on as the two of you watch your favorite docuseries.

When the two of you sleep, most often you’d go to bed earlier than him, because he’d sleep very late at night and wake up very early as well. Sometimes it can feel lonesome when you’re about to drift off to sleep and he’s still not by your side, pacing around doing work or cleaning stuffs. You’d call out for him, and he’ll just hum acknowledging or yelling over from the other room, “You go sleep first.” Just when you’re about to fall deep into your slumber, you can hear him entering the room, and go on with his nightly ritual. He’d clean himself up in the en-suite bathroom, washing his feet (something he’d always do before climbing up to bed), brushing his teeth, moisturizing himself (because’ he’s got dry and flaky skin). He’s got this odd habit of re-ironing his pajamas before bed although they’re neatly hung already. He just likes to feel the warmth left by the iron slate, and the smell of Fabreeze on the garment he sleeps in.

He’d turn off his alarm when you’re sleeping over because he wakes up at dusk and he doesn’t want to ruin your sleep. He’d always sleep on the bed side by the window, and you’d already know not to roll over to his space. Levi likes to see you sleeping, hearing the soundly noise of your breath makes him feel at ease and it may be one of those few times in a day where he smiles. Standing by your bed side, he’d run his fingers through your hair and leave a small peck on your eyes and nose. You’d scrunch up your nose because sometimes his kiss tickles, and he’d chuckle. Once he finally decides to go to bed, he’d immediately glide his arms to wrap your waist and be the big spoon to keep you warm. He’d kiss your shoulder and keep his face there for a while, breathing to your neck. He’d draw a very deep exhale, as if he’s glad to retreat to your embrace after a hard day. When you mumble, “Go to sleep, Levi.” He’d hum and bury his face in your neck and hair as he mutters, “I love you.”

Have you ever tried Turkish Delight? No. I’ve looked up photos of it before and it has genuinely never looked appealing; sorry to those who are delighted (heh heh) by them :/ I’m willing to try it if I ever get the chance, but I really doubt that I’ll enjoy.

Do you have a Vietnamese restaurant in your town or city? They’re a lot less common than other Asian restaurants, but I think we do have a fair share, yeah. The most common are banh mi joints. I think the reason why they aren’t super popular in my country is that Vietnamese dishes tend to be veggie-heavy - at least that’s the impression of most people here - and with Filipinos loving rice and meat in everything they eat, other cuisines simply end up being more popular, like Thai and Chinese.

Do you or have you ever owned a portable gaming console? Yes; we had a couple of PSPs and a DSi as kids. These days, we have a Switch.

Have you ever been in a car with a sunroof? Yeah the Vitara has one. It’s my favorite trick to pull off whenever a friend is riding with me in it for the first time, haha. Everyone always gets so excited about it.

Do you have to have an occasion to eat out or do you just do it for fun? Back in college I allotted a certain portion of my weekly allowance to be able to eat out once or twice a week. Food is the way to my heart and happiness and it just felt good to have nice food, man. I didn’t want to have to wait for occasions to be able to eat at my favorite restaurants.

Have you opened a letter today? No, I haven’t.

How far away is the closest cinema from your house? It’s around a 10-15 minute drive.

Have you ever been to the emergency room? Nope.

Are you one of those people who can’t go without their morning coffee? I wasn’t for a very long time, but it’s starting to become that way now that I’ve started having a regular 9-6 shift. I find that I’m way crankier and am prone to crying from anxiety if I don’t make myself a cup of coffee. When I do, I feel super productive and more motivated to do work.

Have you ever worn fake eyelashes? Twice. Once for junior prom and the next was for my college grad photo shoot.

Do you know the story of how your parents met? If so, tell me? They both started out as part of the kitchen crew in a luxury hotel in the city, my mom as a waitress and my dad as a cook. My mom started pursuing my dad when she discovered what school he came from lol because priorities, I guess.

What is your favorite Chinese food? Minced pork with eggplants is a huge favorite of mine. Xiao long bao and pork buns (steamed or baked) are also suuuuuper good.

Would you ever work at a movie theater? Probably not at this point in my life. It would’ve been a nice gig during college.

Do you have a phone charger in your car? Yessir. I need one since I constantly use Waze to get to anywhere for both directions and traffic updates, and the LTE I need for that drains my battery.

Do you live far from your parents? No, they’re like 10 steps away, in another room.

Have you ever submitted a video to Funniest Home Videos? Nope. I always loved the videos though and the show made up a big part of my childhood.

Have you ever been attracted to an authority figure? I’ve found several teachers attractive before, yeah. The biggest crush I had was on my biology teacher...I think everyone else had a crush on her too lol, she was the personification of beauty and brains.

Do you think you have a wide vocabulary? I mean I guess I know more words than most people my age...but I also feel that my vocabulary still would’ve been a lot wider if I just continued to read well into my teenage years and now as a young adult.

What was the last hot food you ate? Lumpia.

Have you ever seen a meteor shower? I don’t think so.

Describe your current position: I’m sitting up on my bed, laptop on my lap, right leg outstretched with my left leg tucked underneath it.

Have you used a microwave today? It’s only 5:01 AM, so I haven’t. We’ll see about today.

What was the last electronic device you purchased? I don’t really buy electronics. I’m more likely to buy accessories for the stuff I already have, and the last one I got was a new case for my phone.

Have you ever slept through an alarm? I think so; only a few times though. I wake up from them easily.

Do you have any celebrity crushes? Kristen Stewart and Kate Winslet are where it’s at for me, y’all.

Do you prefer going out for coffee or brewing your own? I can go either way. Coffee is coffee. I don’t mind making my own for convenience, or paying a few hundred bucks for a little more quality coffee.

Have you consumed caffeine today? If so, in what form? Yeah I have a cup of 3-in-1 barako coffee beside me. I actually made this cup at like, 7 PM last night...then I fell asleep for a bit, woke up at midnight, fucked around for a few hours and now I’m back to drinking it at 5 AM, ha.

Do you have lactose intolerance or know anyone who does? I have a mild case of it. It’s not a complete disaster for me to eat cheese or consume milk, and I wouldn’t say that my trips to the bathroom afterwards are emergencies. My body has for the most part been nice to me, hahaha.

Do you know anyone who follows a raw vegan diet and lifestyle? Not to my knowledge, no.

Have you killed a bug this week? Probably.

What was the first food you learned how to cook? I followed a recipe for onion rings a few months ago and that was super fun, but I haven’t followed that up yet so I dunno if it’s right to say I ‘learned’ it. 

Do you have a Bachelor’s degree? If so, what in? Journalism.

How many email accounts do you have? Four, but honestly I barely use the Outlook one anymore. I have three main email addresses on Gmail.

Can you go see a doctor alone or do you like to take someone with you? My parents come with me because they take care of the finances and insurance that go with things like that.

Have you ever made your own pasta noodles from scratch? Hmm, I don’t think so.

How long is your average shower? 5-10 minutes.

How close is the nearest park from your house? We don’t have any public parks because my country sucks, but my village has a few small parks that residents can flock to and walk their dogs in or bring their kids to play in or whatever. The nearest one is a 10-15 minute walk or a 2-minute drive away, depending on how you prefer to get there. Which household chore do you hate the most? Cleaning up dog pee.

Have you ever been to an all-you-can-eat buffet? So many times. They’re very common here and there are a lot of restaurants that solely have a buffet gimmick. Sambo Kojin was my favorite, and I’m really hoping their business wasn’t affected by this stupid virus.

Can you see out any windows from where you are? Yup.

Do you like pineapple on pizza? No, but I also don’t like pineapples and all other fruits.

What color is your soap? Green or white. I don’t really pay attention.

Is anything bothering you right now? Just about all the time, yes.

When’s the last time you had a headache? Sometime this week or last week.

What woke you up this morning? I woke up naturally as I normally do these days.

Are you planning to go see a movie anytime soon? Yeah my workmates have been watching American Murder on Netflix and all of them so far are raving about it, so I want to give that a shot soon.

Will you sleep alone tonight? I always sleep alone. 

How do you feel right now? Confused at my lack of drowsiness and a little sad but it’s manageable for now.

Is shyness cute? I don’t feel any particular way towards it. I suppose it can be endearing and it can also be annoying.

Will you be up before 7:00 a.m. tomorrow? I already am.

What are your plans for tonight? Maybe keep doing surveys or send in my online interview that a company I’m applying to asked me to accomplish. I didn’t even know do-it-on-your-own-time interviews were a thing; it’s super convenient and removes my anxiety of being interviewed in real time by strangers.

Would you rather write in pink pen or blue pen? Blue.

Have you ever kissed the last person you text messaged? Yes.

Who was the last person you cried in front of? Just myself. Haven’t cried in front of anyone in a while.

Are your eyes the same color as your dad’s? Yep.

Have you smoked a cigarette in the past 24 hours? No, but could definitely use one.

Were you happy when you woke up today? Nah I woke up crying I think. It was one of the more difficult mornings.

OC asks below the cut because I’m bored

1. Aria has multiple stuff animals. Three bunnies, a stuffed tonberry, chocobo, Hraesvaelgr, Ananta, teddy bear, clinoid, Namazu, bacon bits and Kojin. Her favorite has to be the sapphire bunny that reminds her of her special person away from home

2. Being a botanist and alchemist, Aria takes pride in her ability to care for nature. With the same adoration, she cares for her pets, such as her lesser panda and koala joey. As for a child, she feels as if she is not yet ready with the duties presented to her...

3. Someone that mended her heart when her first had come and shattered it to pieces. Clad in sapphire with the mannerisms of a gentleman living in the northern snowbanks to which she freed so its people may fly heavensward.

4. -stares at picture- Yep. That she does.

5. Aria doesn’t like being the center of attention, but will fulfill her duties where needed. If she is performing a speech of her own volition, it would perhaps be a rally to soldiers during training or before battle.

6. Aria has a soft spot for her brother and will listen to him - he is often scarce in his gentle chiding, after all. As for the one she will never take advice from, it will definitely be the Ascians. Ascians besides a certain architect...

7. Loyal, humble, passionate. Respectful, quiet, kind.

8. Aria would definitely attempt to solve the problem when challenged. Especially if the lives of the people she cares about are on the line. However, if there is the option to, she would ask for help having known first hand the terrible feeling of trying to take the burden on her own.

9. She is rather practical in that she wouldn’t empathize to synthetic creations, but considering her botanic background, she would definitely have words with whomever decides to tread on her garden.

10. Eight. She would be eight years old in order to stop her mother from taking her out that fateful day in Limsa where she and her were ambushed by Garlean invaders.

11. She would spend, but on investments. Restoration of the Firmament would be her initial thought, followed by funding orphanages where needed.

12. Oh, yeah. She loves reading and the idea of romance in generally. Despite the fact that she doesn’t think she would have obtained it (until a certain Elezen lord commander crossed her path).

13. How to remain true to who they are. Her mother, especially, constantly repeated that they should not allow anything to impede on their dreams their true nature. Be honest.

14. Chocolate and cute things. She loves sweets and if she were to pass a toy store with a plush doll, she would be ogling it for a bell.

15. Gossip and bullying. If you have the energy to invest in bringing someone down, use that energy to bring people up!

16. The simple garments. Far Eastern yukatas shortened for mobility or Ishgardian outfits that maintain her dexterity. She pointedly avoids silks and cashmere where she can unless she is forced to for social gatherings.

17. Indeed. She hopes that she will be able to be a mother one day. One day.

18. She follows her partner’s lead most of the time, but if she’s feeling frisky, she may demand more ;)

19. Yes and yes. She wants to be the best that she can be regardless of whether she knows she would be accepted (being the Warrior of Light and all). She knows she’s an inspiration to many and she is terrified of disappointing others.

20. Moogles. Probably.

21. Cheating. She already had her heart broken once because of betrayal and she couldn’t bear to have that repeated again (though she knows her partner would never).

22. She doesn’t mind the pet names. She only allows a select few to call her ‘Ia’. From those she’s close to, she doesn’t mind ‘dear’, ‘love’, ‘darling’ and the like. Her go-to would often be ‘dear’ or ‘sweets’.

23. Honestly, Aria craves stability, but being the Warrior of Light shatters that all the time.

24. Honesty. She believes that the truth is above lying to someone to keep them in a pipe dream. 

25. Possibility. She’s been in too many life-and-death situations and has accepted the words that Y’shtola had said to her; that if a miracle is to be found, it would be by the Warrior’s side.

26. Effort. She had no idea how to use magick or tell plant from poison until her mother had patiently taught her. It was the matter of putting in the effort to remember and to practice.

27. At the beginning, vengeance. Especially when she lost Haurchefant. However, after becoming closer to Aymeric and Estinien, she learned that not all emotions are meant to be enacted on.

28. If she loves them and if they genuinely love her, why not?

29. Her family before it was torn apart. Of the people she’s lost. The people she had saved.

30. If she had to give up a part of herself in order to save the life of someone she cared about, she probably would.

Reeling38 Film Festival Announced

Reeling will celebrate its 38th anniversary this fall with a new virtual edition of the second-oldest LGBTQ+ film festival in the world. Showing 30 features, 54 shorts across eight shorts programs from 21 countries, Reeling will offer home viewers access to new films not currently available on commercial streaming platforms. Over the course of 11 days – from September 24 to October 4 – new titles will be premiered each day of the festival on Reeling’s online platform. Each film program will be viewable for a total of four days. Feature films may be viewed by audiences in Illinois, while short films will be available to audiences in the U.S. Virtual Q&As with filmmakers will be an integral part of the event, and this year’s festival will host more Q&As with film directors, producers, writers and actors than ever before.

As a person who has a superiority complex as a way to compensate his own insecurity, Zeke tends to think highly of himself, and with such thought comes a lot a self-made justification for him to find other people annoying. My headcanon would be that most of his pet peeves would come from the little things that other people do. It can really start from simple things.

One example, when you were out for lunch with him at a restaurant, Zeke would audibly sigh in annoyance when the waiter came to take up your order and interrupted him mid-sentence while he was talking to you. He would leer at the waiter and furrowed his brow in an evident dismay. He wouldn’t be overtly rude though, as that’s not his jam. All he would do was clearing his throat and told the waiter that you weren’t ready to order, and he should come back later – putting words in your mouth just to shoo a waiter, because he still cared about his image in the eyes of strangers and did not want to assume the consequence of having people think of him as an asshole.

When the food finally came, he would scoff because the waiter served the food from the left-side and not the mannerly proper right-side. He’d make a condescending remark about how “People nowadays just don’t care.” And it would really set his mood to a bad turn.

In workplace, he'd finf people who are overtly meek and obedient to be quite a nuisance. He believes everyone should have their own degree of independence, and people who obey without independent thoughts are such fools. He’d find himself peeved by Colt Grice often because he’d be looking up to Zeke too much. One who never goes further in inspecting whether the beliefs one upholds was of truth or rather a fabrication. It's always “Yes, War Chief!” or “Wow, you’re so cool!” but never “Why did you come up with that plan?” or “Can I know your decision-making process?”. People who would do things as ordered without mustering their own thoughts into it are the type of people Zeke finds annoying and to a certain extent—he considers as expendable. I’m not sure whether this can be classified as a pet peeve, but this particular dislike is the most common reason to Zeke’s annoyance.

Zeke for sure is an extraverted thinker, meaning that he likes to exercise his thoughts out-loud and verbally, and one of the places where he’d find himself be comfortable enough to talk about all of his ideas would be in bed with you. Honestly, I think his significant other has to have similar values with him or else this “wit exercise” would only be a gateway to relentless arguments. You’d be in bed first because Zeke would really savor his time in the bathroom before bed, he’d appear out of the bathroom with his beard still damp, brushing his teeth, topless with his lounge trousers – all while talking shit about either his teammates or the stupidity of the government. He’d pace around the room, ranting, throwing glances at you frequently as he looks for your affirmation that you’d gladly give – maybe weigh in your thoughts in the matter as well, he’d love it.  After a while, when the foam of the toothpaste starts to get stale in his mouth, only would he start cleaning up and finally retreating to bed with you. Contrary to popular belief, Zeke is such a big baby when it comes to sleep. The way he’d make weird noises as he slithers into your embrace, his arms on your waist, resting his heavy head on your chest – is a thing that often makes your heart coos. He’d really groan and whine, and talk shit about people again until his energy depletes and finally drifts to slumber on your chest.

Zeke often gets waken up in the middle of a night, either by nightmares or anxiety kick that would come univited at ungodly hours. No matter how tough he's seen as, no matter how much horrors he'd brung as the Beast Titan, these persistent nightmares about his parents, would nail the coffin on his strong facade and he may break down. When you're around, he'd really appreciate your help, just to fetch him a glass of water and cradle him back to sleep would be something rather meaningful for him, since it was something he had never received when he was a child.

04.00 Reiner is a child that was never a child, his life was of adversity and hardship. I headcanon there would be moments in his life where he dreamed of happiness and yet he had difficulty imagining how would that feel, for he had never gotten acquainted with the idea of happiness. Out of all the characters, he was the one who persevered the most in being stoic although sometimes it was too much for him to fathom. He thought being strong and internalizing his pain and emotions would help him survive, but as we know it just eroded the sanctity of his mind and memories. This rejection of any feelings in fear of it materializing into something real for him, drove Reiner to have little to nothing he wished he could have said to his loved ones. Not because it’s non-existent, but because he actively rejects its existence.

If any, rather than the things he would say, it would probably the things he wished people could have seen of him or said to him. I headcanon (or maybe it’s already implied in the canon?) that in the first season, when Eren said he wished he could be as strong as Reiner, it pained him quite tremendously, because aside from it making him felt like a fraud, he also wished people could see who he really is underneath all the façade of a tough man. He wished someone would come to him and acknowledge his pain and give consolation that he, too, was allowed to grief his own loss, no matter how tough had he pretended to be all these times. As for the thing that Reiner wished someone would have said to him, I reckon it oughta be this simple sentence from his family, from back when he was still a child, before his moral had been eroded beyond penitence: “We’re proud of you.”

09.00 I don’t think that Reiner would be big on reading books, truthfully. He’s got his head full of thoughts and he always believed that he wouldn’t have any more space for someone else’s thought. I headcanon that he would be the type to get lost in his own thoughts during his free time, or would just read columns in the daily mail. At first, I thought that maybe Reiner would dig To Kill A Mockingbird, a classic by Harper Lee. Because I thought he would seek for a sense of righteousness in the figure of Atticus Finch. He’d discover a set of guiding principle he would so desperately need in his life, but then I realized that as much as Reiner is loveable, he is a chronic pessimist. He would read Atticus Finch’s characters and would be engulfed in a deep self-introspection and would feel tremendously ashamed for he had not walked by the agency of virtues like Atticus did.

I think Reiner would one day stumble upon a book that he liked, because it would affirm his bleak, self-deprecating and rather helpless perspective toward his fate and his role as a person. The book would be The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. One that affirms his belief that if he’s gone no one would be so affected as to go a lengthy way to look for him, moreover to rescue to him. The book basically justifies Reiner’s self-hatred, in which he sees himself as nothing but a giant vermin, a complete inconvenience, that everyone can’t wait to get rid of, and that his lethal departure would bring people to rejoice.

22.00 There would be an intense, almost terrifying energy coming from him all night long. If you go out drinking where your other friends were also present, Reiner would strain every piece of energy he had to refrain himself from devouring your pretty lips right there, right now, in front of all of his friends. Instead, what would come out was just a keen gaze at you from across the table, no matter what you did or what you said, his stare would latch on you as if you were being preyed upon. If you were sitting next to him, his fingers would be on your shoulder, pulling you into a rather possessive embrace, later the night those calloused digits would travel down your back and slip into your shirt, stroking the small of your back as he breathed on your neck when all your friends were too caught up with the music. Under the table, he would slowly guide your hands to his thigh and slowly to the massive erection that was bulging painfully through his trousers. When you’re at that point, you’d know it’s time to go home.

18.00 First of all, let’s make the line clear between us all: Zeke does not do romance and shit. He is a person whose self-assurance is over the roof; he believes to a great extent that he doesn’t need to put outlandish effort just to get a significant other. It’s not because he’s a bad guy per se who’d just use up his significant other, it’s just that he simply thinks the effort would be unnecessary if he could just pull out his usual stunt and get the outcome he desires.

Zeke is well aware of his charm, and date night with him would definitely include you trying your hardest not to squirm under his sly gaze at you. There would never be over-the-top candle-lit dinner at fancy restaurant when it comes to Zeke, since he values intimacy just for the two of you, instead of a posh display. When he asks you out, it would sound like an open-ended question, you couldn’t be sure whether he is actually asking you out or whether it was just a cheeky joke. You’d be sure of the latter, only for him to call you on Friday night, a casual tone with a tint of boredom in his voice, “So, when are you coming?” If it was another guy, you’d just laugh it off and ask for a reschedule, but with Zeke? You’d relinquish all self-restraint.

When you’re only just starting with him, expect a Friday night spent at his high-rise apartment overlooking the city. This man is definitely loaded and he wouldn’t be shy to flaunt his sophisticated apartment. Its dark marbles and high-end automated appliances – he didn’t spend a lot of money just to enjoy them himself. You’d be dressing up to the nines, expecting a proper dinner although only at his apartment. You’d be going through the crystal-decorated lobby of his apartment, and finally as you reached his floor, turning up at his penthouse, he’d greet you while only draped in his boxing robe, hiding his hairy bare chest underneath – a stark contrast to how you look. He wasn’t trying to be disrespectful, that was exactly his game – to make you feel tensed to his enjoyment, knowing that he always gets the upper-hand. He’d pretend to feel bad for being under-dressed, but would show no effort to go change.

He’d spoil you with fine-graded wine and expensive homecooked meal (yes, he’s a great cook). He’d occasionally mutter suggestive remarks that sends shivers down your neck (he’d stare at your dress from across the dining table and smirk, “Now I know why they’re called ‘plunging neckline’”), all while having his eyes on you throughout the night. Once you’re done with the dinner, he’d lead you to the living room where he displays all his vinyl collection. Zeke would be down on the game, that he’d already know what song to play to set the mood. While you have yourself amazed by the view of his home glimmering beneath the twinkling metropolitan city, he’d put up some Ella Fitzgerald, and it wouldn’t take long until you see him reflected by the glass window, standing behind you. Slowly, you’d feel the warmth precipitation of his breath grazing your exposed back and shoulder, as he slithers his coarse and rough hand through your waist and grazes his lips through your shoulder, humming Ella Fitzgerald’s song that immediately sends you drenching.

03.00: What is their recurring nightmare?

One of the most heart-wrenching things about Levi was how he’d realized that for years, he hadn’t had any good or even harmless absurd dreams that people often had. Each scenery that ever occurred in his dream was of bleak one, seeing his comrades shattered to pieces, and with it came the agonizing regret for not being able to save each one of them. For many years, Levi had gotten used to such horrible dreams that it had lost its ‘nightmare’ status. For Levi, it’s just something that he had to live for, no matter how it deepened the void in his heart.

However, there would be times, in which Levi was haunted by a persistent, recurring dream that gave him the deepest sadness upon waking up, which was odd, because Levi realized that those 'nightmares' did not have deaths, tragedies or maladies of some kind – rather they showed Levi all the things that could have been, if only he wasn’t lacking for his comrade. And it pained him terribly.

In those nightmares, Levi would be walking down the cobblestone street of one of the cities within the walls. People that passed him by would greet with a nod or a smile as they muttered, “Captain,” displaying their respect for all the things that Levi had fought for, for the sake of humanity within the Walls. The air was sweet, and the sound of joy was ringing around the city – it almost felt like a day of celebration. People would be laughing and singing, but Levi couldn’t understand why.

In these dreams, Levi would feel as if something was off, he could feel the strangeness in the way his joints and limbs moved, like he was walking with someone else’s body. Until he passed by a mirror that a street vendor was selling, and surprised to see the wrinkles on his face and how his black jet hair had grown grey and dull. Levi would continue to stroll down the street, and he’d walk into a tavern, full of sounds from clanking glasses, and erupting laughter. In the dreams, Levi thought, how odd that despite the fact that he wasn’t one for ruckus commotion and tavern, he felt such an ease coming into this one. The thought immediately came to an answer as he stepped in and saw the faces of his dear comrades – all had grown old, and the strength that Levi remembered in their physical appearances had been replaced by rather homely figures. Yet, their rigorous passion and courage was still visible in their eyes as they all shouted in unison upon Levi’s arrival, “Happy birthday, Captain Grumpy!” Levi would glance around and smiled, yet another strange thing because he knew he didn’t like birthday celebration, but in the dreams when years had passed by without death and sorrow… had Levi grown a space in his heart for warm celebration?

Coming towards him, Levi would see the once tall and rather monstrous Miche to have grown grey and slouchy, but the vigor still remained as he patted Levi firmly in the back, “Happy birthday, ‘Vi,” he said with haze in his eyes, obviously tipsy. Then there would be Oluo and Petra walking hand-in-hand as they gave Levi a nice, ribboned box. Levi had noticed that both of their ring fingers were adorned by the same set of rings, ‘They’re married,’ Levi came to a conclusion in his head as he thanked them. There were so many familiar faces that Levi could recognize and for once, Levi could remember them in a way he should be, not as lifeless, bloodied, corpses that had become Levi’s recognition of them for most of his life after their deaths. Levi knew at that point he was crying in his sleep, but he beseeched any deity not to wake him up just yet.

He’d walk to the wooden bar, where Erwin stood. He was no longer the young and fierce commander Levi remembered, but there was still a ray of commanding gaze emanating from the old man, he was clapping along with the others. Beside him was Moblit, leaning to the bar – what used to be lock of brown hair had gone completely, Levi could feel the urge to chuckle, thinking that babysitting Hange for so many years might have been the cause of his baldness. Once the happy birthday subsided, Levi looked for Hange, and he found them craning their neck over the swinging saloon door behind the bar stool, looking and yelling to someone in the kitchen, “Oi quick! Shorty is here already!” with no recognition that Levi was just a throw away from them.

“Hange, I’m already here—” Levi’s words were cut-off with the saloon door swinging open, and everyone suddenly erupted to yet another happy birthday anthem. Two figures he had missed so dearly came out of the kitchen with two-tier birthday cake in their hand – smiling, grinning, they were shouting merriness of life to Levi – something that got Levi reminded that this was only a dream, because he knew he could never see those two faces again in his life, “Farlan. Isabel.”

The Captain smiled and blew the candles on the cake, he looked again at his two friends, ‘Odd,’ he muttered to himself as he realized that both Farlan and Isabel were still as young as they were, while the rest of the Corps had withered with age. ‘Ah,’ as realization swept through him, Levi nodded, he finally understood that dreams were projection of what he wished had happened. While this painful dream reminded him of all the lives he couldn’t save, he had also wished that the youthful passion of both Farlan and Isabel to live forever in his heart.

Captain Levi Ackerman finally woke up, with pools of tears on his pillow. Heart throbbing in pain, he drank his water by the bedside and straightened himself up. Getting ready for yet another day in the warfare without his most-treasured comrades fighting by his side. Levi hated these dreams, whenever it occurred, he always wished he had a bad dream instead, with deaths and wars, something he was more familiar with, instead of the dream he just had, because that dream – one where he got to see how life would be if he was stronger and smarter to save them all – was too beautiful and yet impossible to live.

He was lucky enough to still have his family around, while the others suffered from painful tragedies of personal loss. He was a prick because while the others were driven by necessity to survive and excel (like how Eren was driven by his anguish to avenge the death of his mom in joining the corps), Jean was driven by childish ego and urge to self-prove himself. But when Marco died, it bludgeoned him with painful realization that this was the reality for most of his friends all along, and that soon it would be his reality too. He grieved deeply; he did not know whom to blame nor was he even given the solace of knowing Marco’s cause of death (until years later).

I headcanon that Jean went through some deep period of emotional volatility that it affected his performance as a cadet as well as his relationship with the other 104th comrades, he held the anger tightly and begged for an answer to Marcos’ death. He tried desperately to replay every moment where he could have had done something to save Marco, yet found no answer to it. Until someone close to him (maybe Connie or Sasha?) reminded him that instead of grueling with one final moment in Marco’s death, he should have cherished the life of Marco and how good he was as a friend. At first, it elevated him to a sense of ease, only to be further hurt by the realization, that while without doubt Marco was very important for him, out of so many moments he shared with Marco, he could hardly remember the things that Marco said – his jokes, his tell-tales or even his aspiration – as during all those talks, Jean was engulfed with his own thoughts, his jealousy over Eren, his insecurity, and his egocentric thoughts. Sure, he still had memories of talking with Marco, but all he could remember was what he said and not what Marco said. It saddened him tremendously, how he could only remember few words of Marco, ones that eventually he tried to immortalize deeply in his memory (“You’re not a strong person, so you can really understand how weak people feel.”)

This traumatized Jean deeply, and how much he regretted not spending enough time listening to and caring for people who really did matter for him. Fortunately, he learned his lesson and really tried his best to form a new habit, and that is to be more attentive, to listen to other people and be more altruistic in his life endeavor. It would be a really pleasant talking to Jean now, how deep would he stare at your eyes while you pour your minds out, how he intently nodded as he listened, or how he would notice every single expression in your face as you talked. You’d feel understood, and cared for by Jean. Yes, he had been through shit, and he’d sworn to use his trauma to become a better person for others.  

20.00 I think Jean has very spiky energy. He’d be energetic and driven by impulses during the day, then completely losing most of his energies once he’s home. So that’s why when he goes to sleep, he really DOES sleep. He’s not the type to linger and cuddle around with you throughout the night. It wouldn’t take more than fifteen minutes for him to be fast asleep once he lands on the mattress. He also values his oxygen intake, so don’t expect him to sleep facing you close as he’d like to feel free when he’s asleep. He wouldn’t mind having you curled up in his chest’s embrace, but once he’s drifting away in his slumber, he’d turn away. But late at night, when the room grows colder, and the blanket isn’t enough to warm his long limbs, he’d sub-consciously trace the warmth in your skin. He’d tangle his legs with yours, and if it’s not enough to aid him from the cold, he’d start slipping his big, freezing hands underneath your shirt, seeking the heat on your belly. When he’s feeling cheeky, his fingers would travel upwards and once he finds your breast, he’d squeeze them and mumble with drowsiness still intact in his voice, “Oh there you are, was looking for you.”

23.00 I don’t see Jean as a person with suppressed perversion when it comes to sex. I reckon him to be rather vanilla, and never really had any intention to outwardly experiment with it. As much as he seems pompous and vain, in bed he’s actually very considerate and would prioritize your needs for his need was quite basic. 

The closest he’s ever been to have a wild sexual desire would probably be derived from yet another envy towards Eren. In modern!au, seeing Eren glew up into this emo sexlord, he’d be driven to this weird envious state to wanting to one-up him. He’d seen the effects Eren had to girls in public and he’d want that. He’d want you, as his significant other, to be looking obviously smitten by him, especially in public. He’d want to see you become outlandishly aroused for you and display it in front of his friends (like this). He fantasizes often about having his friends whisper behind his back, wondering how good he’d be in bed to have you completely turned into a horny mess for him even in public. Honestly, I don’t think he’d ever actually do anything to materialize this desire, he once thought of having you stroked under the table during a night-out with all of your friends, or buying a remote-controlled vibrator so you’d be drenched wet for him, but he’d be short in courage to actually do that.
