Something happy for this blog.

I remember as a kid I liked fighting games. One of my first games that I played in my life was Pocket Fighter on the PSX. I remember also enjoying the Marvel VS Capcom games, like 1 and especially 3. (I remember Zero being playable being one of the reasons I got into Mega Man again and sticking with it as THE my biggest special interest to this day)

But I haven't played that much fighting games after that. I was casual about it.

Never played KoF even if one of my DA friends, Ridley, did really funny KoF comics. But I remember being embarassed by my interpretations of Kyo and Iori. (But I was on puberty, early teens, at that time. So, eh) I couldn't think well of KoF without remembering those embarassing first ideas.

2016, thanks to a currently-former friend, I learned about Fightcade on it's first version. We played games like the one of Capcom's D&D games and Puzzle Bobble.

And at a Discord server related to a group of Spanish-Speaking Youtubers, I played against someone on Fightcade who was more into fighting games. It was my first time playing Garou and KoF 2003, as well as other games. In Garou, I remember loving playing as Hotaru, and my opponent hating her. (Lol)

While in KoF 2003, I don't remember my teams, I think I remember one of the characters that I played being as Hinako. (I wish to meet that guy again, but I got kicked by the server due to my inactivity, which is understandable)

I didn't remember those plays until I checked my account's record and... Yeah! But I lost all of those games. (Lol)

It was this year that I watched Thorgi's Arcade's videos. I think the first video was between the Mega Man Fighters one or the Unused Street Fighter characters. And I really loved those videos. They're fun, interesting ideas, and I'll admit, I want to create a Battle Network fighting game. I even choose some characters for it.

Then I binge-watched his SNK retrospesctive videos, Fatal Fury and ESPECIALLY the King of Fighters retrospective videos. I loved those videos. Now my inner shame towards KoF left, now I think about KoF positively. I know more about the games, the characters... I think I should play those games. (And Return to Garou. Rock is SO cool!)

Then I watched more of his Build the Roster videos, and then his first part about Street Fighter Retrospective. I LOVED the video.

And I'll admit, I initially fell for Vega. But, this is a funny anecdote in retrospective. I saw fanart of him with Remy. I was like "Huh? Remy? I need to check about him" and I was mesmerized by this angry edgy frenchboi. I prefer Remy over Vega, I think that's cool... And It kinda sucks because Remy's is a "Either you love him or you hate him" character, as well as being forgotten by Capcom and the SF fans. Oof... But yeah! I said it! I love this angy frenchboi! If you have a problem with me, then fight me! In Fightcade (?

But yeah. After that, I waited and even showed up on the next parts since premiere. And yes, I was SO happy when the III's part was about to premiere, that I RUSHED to buy snacks and go back to enjoy the video on premiere.

Yes. I became fixated on Street Fighter at that level. I love the characters, I love me some fun characters.

I tried 3rd Strike. Played the Arcade run offline. I wanted to play as Remy, but I thought Makoto would be a easy entry. I was wrong. But eh, Makoto's cool. I like Makoto.

Then I had the inner confidence to play as Remy. I needed to get used to the controls (And configure the best position. Did I mention that I play with a KEYBOARD? Thankfully not the laptop one) and yeah. I love playing as Remy! Not only because of my Comfort Character/Husbando bias. But because he's just fun and I like his playstyle. I completed the arcade run better with him compared to my previous run as Makoto.

And accidentally I played as Alex with remaining credit. He was fun to play, and I fought him against Remy, which is poetic-ly ironic and funny. But didn't completed the run because I wanted to stop playing.

When my friend visited my house, I decided to show the game, and I decided to play as Elena SA1. He choose which character I should fight against. And damn, I was good with Elena! And I'm okay with, because I love Elena! She's so cute and motivating!

So yeah, I'll be maining Remy and Elena! And I think that's funny as well, because both characters are complete opposites of each other. Really worthy of memes.

But yeah, I haven't fought someone on Fightcade because I don't feel ready yet. Also again, I'm more of a casual player.

Meanwhile, Remy helped me to get better on drawing anatomy, more variation on it. Like muscles, head shape, I need to get better on drawing. I want to learn more about muscles and more dimensions, so that I can draw more characters with varied body forms. Remy's a good start, because his body is like the usuals that I mostly draw. Then I'll try to progress with other characters. I want to draw Alex eventually.

So yeah! Fighting games can be useful for me to get better!

I love fighting game characters! I REALLY love characters and their varied ways they can express themselves!

I love the variaty in fighting games! I mean, Street Fighter's fun! KoF is fun!

I wish to get more into fighting games! I wish to draw more fanart of fighting games! Or at least the ones that I like. Like Street Fighter and Cyberbots. I love Cyberbots.

So yeah! Positivity!

If you want to get into fighting games, go ahead!

Check for games that you're interested to try! Check those games, select a character that looks cool for you, and try to play. Initially it's confusing. But then you learn how to experiment and play with your character. After a while, your gameplay will make sense. Or just have fun, which is the most important part, after all.

Fighting games can be intimidating, especially if you watch FGC footage done by people who are so good on their plays. But, take it as motivation! Like "Woah. I want to try that.".

If a game is not for you, that's okay! Try to check another one!

If fighting games in general are not for you, that's also okay!

The most important part of playing, is to have fun! Don't pressure yourself to get better. Get better because you want to be better.

...That's surprisingly motivational. Huh.

But yeah. Fighting games are cool. And I want to play more. (But I need to get my life together first)

So I've seen Pokemon and Transfomers fandoms both complain about their "G1" diehard fans...

But... I gotta say... They really don't hit the same. Maybe it might be that I've seen less gratuitous Transformers "geewunner" whining becoming a fan in 2021 than I've seen gratuitous Pokemon "genwunner" whining growing with that fandom. Probably because the TF geewunners are less likely to be on Twitter or Tumblr than Pokemon genwunners. I'm also the same age as the Pokemon genwunners, so I'm more inclined to roll my eyes.

On the flip side...

New Pokemon content doesn't change the old content. It just adds to it. If you're bellyaching about gen 5 because you love gen 1 so much, it's silly because gen 1 Pokemon and storylines will always be the same. Gen 5 just has a new set of characters/Pokemon and happens in a different location. And gen 1 has 2 different remakes, so, if you just want to play gen 1 on a new handheld with updated graphics, it will be there and almost entirely untouched outside of updated gameplay. (Also, genwunners are dumb because gen 2 is the superior gen.) Along with that, a lot of the complaints genwunners have about new gens typically apply to their beloved gen 1 ("Pokemon based on real animals" as if Geodude, Ditto, Magnemite, Koffing, Grimer, Onix, Clefairy, and Jigglypuff don't exist). And the TV show is the same one that's been going since I and my siblings turned on afterschool cartoons in the mid/late-90s. There's no reboot.

New Transformers content... Does change things. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Like, cartoons and comics don't age like video games do. If you can't bare with new content, your preferred adaptation will always be there and accessible. However, if you are open to new content, your most favorite character is likely going to be completely different... If they're even present. Like, Starscream is pretty much the only constant--largely the same in every version. Prowl from TFA is in no way, shape, or form the same character as he is in G1. Arcee is worlds different in TFP than G1. Optimus is totally different in G1, TFA, and TFP... And this isn't even going into the comics. Ironhide is not the same in the Bay movies or TFA or G1... Even outside of the original, I'm not a big fan of what TFA did with Beast Wars characters (I will loudly proclaim how Rattrap gets done dirty outside of his original iteration because it's like other writers don't even really understand who Rattrap was).

And I do think it's fair* if you were personally close to a story and excited to see a new take on it to feel upset when you find that most everything you love about it has been completely changed and is almost unrecognizable to what you've loved. (*To a certain extent. If you're screaming at kids because they like Cyberverse over G1, you gotta take a chill pill.) While there are Transformers geewunners that truly do carry it too far, I do hold sympathy for fans who just want something that genuinely reflects what they loved as a child. Acting like everyone who cares about/prefers G1 is just some geewunner whiner is disingenuous and in bad faith.

Pandemic Delays Push The King of Fighters XV Release to 2022

  Over the course of the many trailers we've shared for The King of Fighters XV, SNK has had the fighter lined up for release sometime in 2021. Those plans have changed as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, though, which has pushed the release window into Q1 2022. 

  Producer Yasuyuki Oda shared a message: 

  There are many fans who are anticipating the release of KOF XV in 2021, however at this point in time, we unfortunately have to announce that KOF XV will now be launching within the 1st quarter of 2022. 

  The development timeline we set out to reach in the beginning has been affected by the ever-still rising cases of COVID-19 within Japan. We have made the ultimate decision in the end that the product’s quality must come first, and so with that decision comes an altered release window.

  We sincerely ask for your kind patience and understanding as our development teams continue to work hard on KOF XV as we draw closer to its release.

  This gives you plenty of time to catch up on all the character trailers:

☆ ✿ ♦ ☯ for Xiao and, fuck it, Lee from Tekken! Oh, and Iori from Kof, naturally *sloppy wink*

☆ Xiao: She’s never been one to love to study. She wasn’t bad at school, just... not really into homeworks, you know? Yet, the afternoons spent with Jin, that decided to be her tutor, are still some of her happiest memories. This, and the afternoon and nights spent in his room, where he would read out loud whatever book he was reading at that moment and let her curled next to him, falling asleep lulled by his low, husky voice. Lee is happy when Heihachi and Kazuya suffers, of course (schadenfreude, how i love thee), but he’s also happy when he can simply ruin their plans and making something good for the society in the process. He’s also happy when he can spend his free time doing absolutely nothing in his pool, surrounded by beautiful women. Iori canonically loves cats, so taking care of them (his own but also the stray ones he may find when he goes out) is something that makes him happy. Also music and singing, it just makes him feel at peace.

✿ Xiao has always striked to me as a very curious person toward s/ex, never been *really* shy about the idea of trying it. She would live her s/exual life happily, always laughing and having fun during s/ex. Jin would probably be way more shy than her at first, something she finds absolutely adorable. She’s kinda open to try various things, unless it’s something way too weird for her tastes. But once a friend of mine wrote me a XiaoJin oneshot were Jin was into light BDSM and liked to be collared, and Xiao was very eager to try ad please him, and i’m hooked to this idea ever since... Lee is into some kinky stuff, you can’t tell me otherwise. Nothing gross or dangerous, but he isn’t vanilla either. The most vanilla thing he does is to tie his partner to the bed... or let his partner do that to him. There’s also NO ROOM in the whole Violet System that hasn’t been used in... creative ways by him. He’s so proud of himself he never felt the need to ask the security to erase the security camera videos. The things they could probably tell... Iori is not interested in super kinky stuff, tho he probably tried a few things just for the sake of hit and maybe enjoyed some. But sure as hell he likes it rough - bites, scratches, you name it. And with a strenght like his own, every s/exual intercourse is intense AF. He probably loves it to do it not only in bed, but also against a wall, or on the floor, and probably tables have seen some stuff as well. One of his fave places tho is the porch at Chizuru’s home - far enough from the streets to not be seen or heard, but enough to be thrilled about it and making everything more exciting ~ She sometimes complains about his choices, but not enough to refuse it.

♦ Xiao started to cook when she was young and found it fun. When she cook for Jin she likes to decorates his bento with cute emojis. If she’s pissed at him, all the emojis are angry, lol. Also, she’s good at pc stuff and is a good hacker: it’s a stupid hc that sprouted in my head back in 2002, when my beloved Tekken 4 came out and in her story mode its said she get an email from Jin that warned her from Heihachi, and young me imagined Xiao starting to look for him on the web using hackers tricks and stuff. It’s stupid and it doesn’t really make sense, i know, but it’s an old hc and i’m stupidly attached to it, lol. Lee probably just likes to spend money on whatever he finds interesting: one day he would buy the blueprints of a super secret russian weapon, the day after he would just adopt some injuried penguins and let them roam free in the big, nature area that he build inside the Violet System one day he was particularly bored. He’s the weird uncle no one talk about during family dinners, quite literally. Iori likes to collect moon shaped stuff (it was a dumb hc of mine born as a joke, until i saw Ogura’s sketches for Iori’s outfit in KOF XIV. Look at the pattern on his shirt and tank top, not to mention the necklace...), music cd&vinyls, and probably likes some videogames too (it wouldn’t be that different from playing games for him). 

☯ Xiao fell into the k-pop hole at one point, and loved it immediatly. She probably blasted 2NE1 and Mamamoo (and probably Girl’s Generation too) at full volume, much to Jin’s chagrin (that unwillingly learned all the songs and gossip). She often asks Hwo to translate her some songs, that results in a funny mix of help and “Bombayah yah yah yah yah? The fuck does this means?? Do they write songs tossing random words around?!”. She also likes to cook and eat (the amount of food she can eat is scary), and when she cook for Jin she likes to decorates his bento with cute emojis. If she’s pissed at him, all the emojis are angry, lol. She dislikes to eat veggies, probably, and being forced to do homeworks. I can also see her disliking boys and people in general with big ass giant ego (Jin is an exception because he can be an ass, but there’s worse around), she usually became super sarcastic around them, something she learned after all these years living with Mr Sarcasm himself. Lee likes to eat and drink the finest, expensive (and probably weirdest) food and drinks he can find, and at one point he hired the best chefs to make sure that he could always have some at the Violet System. He also dislikes his father and Kazuya, their tastes in clothing and what they did to him. Taking his half nephew and his other half brother under his protection it’s probably a good move, and maybe he will be able to teach one or two things to them about a revenge served cold Iori strikes to me as someone that likes to eat (it must be because of all those pics and comic panels where he eats giant pieces of meat and drinks lots of beer, also some fans thinks it’s also his Orochi sides that sometimes makes him eat for three people), but also i can see him learning to cook and finding it relaxing, like imagine him tossing him stuff into a pan for the first time, making something very good out of it and muttering to himself “Obviously good. I’m a genius after all.” Aside disliking senseless violence, he dislikes to be disturbed when he’s relaxing, especially by someone he can’t stand (hello Kyo), and extremely spicy food. He’s always pissed when Chizuru forget that and puts too much spices on his ramen.

What’s Left on my Doll Wishlist (as of 12-12-19)

 As I was waiting for the game awards I started thinking about dolls I wanted, I thought about making this post, now 4 hours later after that Depressingly Awful Game Awards Here’s what’s left on My doll Wish list, a list of specific Dolls I want, some of which are holy grail dolls. Over this 10 years of being into dolls and almost 7 years of collecting, I Built up this ever growing list and started getting some of the ones I really wanted Like My Holy Grail Silver Label Supergirl Barbie, My TNT Barbies, My Disney Store Ariel doll, and others. But There’s still plenty on the list, and here’s what’s lefy (In Mostly no particular order):

- Those Mid 00′s Marvel Barbies. Always Kinda wanted these for the longest time as a Guy who’s really into comics and really into dolls. Also Funny Story I almost Went as Reed Richards for halloween in like 7th grade because I thought that would’ve been an easy way to get that invisible woman doll but passed because I figured it probably wouldn’t work. 

- The Toy Biz Spider-man Collectors Series Mary Jane Doll: Another Marvel Doll, and another red head. Basically in the mid 90s Toy Biz made a bunch of “12 Inch collector Figures” of Various Marvel characters from some of their marvel lines, They made Wolverine, Storm (who I do want for her clothes), and Rogue From the X-Men, Ghost Rider Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-man/Scarlet Spider, and Mary Jane From Spider-Man, with Reg. Spider-Man and MJ being based off the Animated Series. The Female characters were just Off Brand barbies, but have a weird charm to them, plus i’m diggin’ MJ’s Not barbie face.

- Bath Time Fun Ariel: One of My Holy Grail Dolls. She’s V E R Y Impossible to find Rare. I absolutely love Her Insanely Long Red Hair.

- This Curvy Barbie with Dark Purple Hair, Really like this face combined with her cool Dark Purple Hair

- Pepsi Spirit Barbie: Love her crimped hair and how much of an unapologetic Pepsi Shill she is.

- Pizza Party Skipper: Love this Face, Love Pizza, and I Like Pizza hut for the most part, as far as the big chains go they’re pretty good, and I usually dig the weirder pizzas they come out with.

- The Superman Returns Superman and Lois Lane Barbies: Have a strong nostalgia Spot for this movie (not that bad honestly, and Routh Killed it recently on crisis) and I really like hoe these dolls Look.

- The other 3 2008 DC Comics I don’t Have (Especially Batgirl). While the 2008 Silver Label Supergirl was always the #1 Holy grail doll for Years I also really wanted batgirl and later on the other 2, as both a comics fan and as a Doll guy. I love how these look! (save for Batgirl’s Cowl and the painted glove hands)

- Holiday Angel Barbie: Not quite a holy grail doll but she is a little rare. Saw her a my local thrift store on day some years ago, Immediately loved her, not knowing who she was, and was about maybe $10, but I didn’t get her (Don’t remember if it was lack of funds in that moment or deciding weather or not to spend $10 on a thrift doll). Later that week I think I came back she was gone and I super regret not getting her and/or not coming back sooner.

- Feelin' Groovy Barbie: Love the outfit, Love the Steffie Face Mold with the Jet black hair with the bangs. Big Big Love her and super want her!

- 25th Anniversary Totally Hair Barbie:  Really like how we finally got a repro 90s barbie, really liked this repro turned out, really like the Long Crimped hair of TH barbie, and would probably look greta on a MTM Body

Those X-men Barbies from this year: Same reasons as the previous Comic Barbies I mentioned, They Look great but the painted glove hands and not being articulated as a MTM doll kinda kills it a little for me. Hopefully they go down in price or on sale Some point.

- This KOTOBUKIYA ACTIVE STYLING Doll/Figure of Athena from The King of Fighters: I don’t talk about it here but I’m super into Fighting Games, and am always happy to find out some of those characters I like have dolls of them even if they’re kinda rare japan only dolls.. King of Fighters is a great game series with a great Cast of characters, and one of those characters I main is Athena. She doesn’t have rooted hair but I still really like How she Looks and how articulated she is/looks

The KOTOBUKIYA ACTIVE STYLING  Doll/Figure of Yuri From King of Fighters: Same reasons as athena, though I really don’t main her outside of KOF 14 and maybe Capcom vs SNK 2.

- the Takara Real Bout Fatal Fury Mai Shiranui doll: One more SNK Doll. Love Mai and love how this doll looks. It looks pretty accurate to her design and has a certain 90s charm to it.

- The Blonde and Brunette Earring Magic Barbies and (Another) Earring Magic Midge. Adore 90s barbies so much, love how these dolls look overall, the always classic superstar facesculpt, the crimped hair, and I really dig these outfits. I did get EM midge recently But I do wanna get a new one New in box, and I wanna get the other 2 new in box (I take my dolls out of the box But I still want them new lol)

- a Dollikin/Action Girl Doll: Really like her face, her cute hair, and her surprising amount of articulation for a doll her age, she’s from the early 70s I think.

Lastly here’s the The Rest of My Holy Grail Dolls The One’s I R E A L L Y want:

- Jewel Hair Midge: I Love Red heads, Love 90s barbies, and I  Really love 90s midge. I know the hair on the JHM dolls becomes a problem almost immediately out of the box but I Just love the 90s midge face sculpt with her insanely long red hair and the blue outfit she has.

- The Super Excellent Series Vampire Savior Morrigan Doll from Marmit: Morrigan’s a character who i’ve always mained and has been on the waifu list forever, and always really really wanted a doll of her. I even tried giving my dolls bangs and coloring their hair green with marker back when I was a dumb teenager. It never turned out well. This is the closest I’ma Get to the Morrigan Fashion doll I always wanted. There is another japan only morrigan doll, but she Looks Bad.

- 2009 Barbie Fashionistas Glam. The other Original Holy Grail Doll I wanted since Day 1 next to supergirl. Love her outfit, her hair, and always get nostalgic for that late 00′s/early 2010′s Barbie Face.

Last but not least

- Red Head/Titan Hair Twist N Turn Barbie: Next to 80s/90s barbies and late 00′s/early 10′s barbies TNT Dolls are my ABSOLUTE Favorites. I have 2 Vintage TNT Dolls and a Repro Hair Fair Doll. I also REALLY like Red Heads and Love the Red Head/ Titan Hair TNT barbie. The red Hair Just Looks so Good with this face!!
