As experts on the subject, what do you all think are the best liscences to add to the kobold to make the best ko-build?

Well, anon, the beauty of the Kobold is that does a lot of things fairly well, which makes it very good at what we use it for: outfitting a lot of people very quickly.

That being said, what you specifically are trying to get out of it once you have more input in the matter is going to depend on what you want out of it. It's incredibly defensive, thanks to its mimic carapace, and does well at altering the terrain to its benefit.

The obvious thing most people do with it then is usually to lean in on its ability to control the shape of the battlefield, which is what I have done: some have argued it synchronizes well with the Zheng because of this, but I find that the Zheng's tools all have me wanting to get up close (do not do this) or are something the Kobold does better (sorry to the accessible version of its Total Strength Suite, but the Slag Cannon is just better.)

Instead I've gotten some cues from those who use the Minotaur- I want enemies within my Seismic Ripper and away from me, and those movement control effects do well for this, as well as synergizing with the more advanced Kobold tactics like dumping K-PG directly into your opponent's reactor extremely well.

Some of my comrades don't like the heat this takes or the supportive role it puts you in though, and have been pirating Harrison licenses to similar effect. The Iskander in particular is popular among the younger pilots for this, although most go there for something that gives heat management, because the Slag Cannon does stress your reactor more than the Kobold likes (and you do not want to melt down in a Kobold more than most other mechs.)

My old mentor used to do some very silly things with some tools from the Pegasus and a Phase Ready Mod on her Slag Cannon, as well.

The important parts of understanding your Kobold are knowing who you're fighting with and what you can afford to be doing, though. I lead well into a supportive role because I had P in his Blackbeard annoying enemy frontliners, and so had time to control the battlefield and set up. Some do better taking advantage of the stealth the Kobold gives you to do midrange skirmishing with the Fusion Rifle, which is going to look very different. It all depends on the needs of your comrades to me.

so you guys know how sometimes lizards can have two heads

my idea now is to make a two headed kobold for a future campaign. they are a paladin/champion both following the same deity (i have not decided which! suggestions welcome!!!) but have very different interpretations of what being a champion of so-and-so actually means. Neither of them are wrong but they will often argue with themselves over what to do and what a true champion of whoever should actually value. ofc they do agree on some things and both can agree that the most important thing ever is protecting their friends and those who can’t protect themselves! i probably won’t get to play this guys for a long time but i’m excited to make them

got over a bit of sadness by holding my plushies and pretending it was a kobold who came back home crying onto my lap and i was covering them with my wings and tail and letting them calm down and telling them i was there and not letting go and asking if they've eaten anything lately.
