So in my personal headcanon of Pathfinder, you would expect a lot of dragonborns from all the bards going around seducing dragons. But there's a bit more to it than that. If the dragon is the mother you get kobolds, and lots of them. If the bard is the mother though, you get dragonborns.
This is why there are a lot of kobolds in the world, but not terribly many dragonborns, since a lot of the peeps going out to seduce dragons are usually dudes.
Going further though, I want to see a mini campaign/ one shot where you meet a sad dragon and a bunch of her kobolds in a cave trying to cheer her up. You inquire further about why she's sad and she tells you about a bard that was with her until he chickened out and took her hoard when it was revealed she was having kobolds. You are now tasked with killing the hell outta this bard and retrieving the dragons hoard.
After that's said and done you can snuggle her and all her cute little 'bolds and if you talk to her in the morning after about rebuilding her hoard/home you get bonus quests.
Perhaps you could step into the shoes the bard so carelessly abandoned, as wife to the dragon and father to the small lil kobls...

so you guys know how sometimes lizards can have two heads
my idea now is to make a two headed kobold for a future campaign. they are a paladin/champion both following the same deity (i have not decided which! suggestions welcome!!!) but have very different interpretations of what being a champion of so-and-so actually means. Neither of them are wrong but they will often argue with themselves over what to do and what a true champion of whoever should actually value. ofc they do agree on some things and both can agree that the most important thing ever is protecting their friends and those who can’t protect themselves! i probably won’t get to play this guys for a long time but i’m excited to make them

To add to all the above, the origin of kobolds as mischievous mine-spirits is why cobalt is called that! Cobaltiferous ores are common, but they can't be easily smelted and release arsenic- and sulphur-based gases when heated, causing miners to swiftly conclude that these rocks had to be the work of malevolent supernatural tricksters.
This is a question that’s been bothering me, and after looking into it I think I get it
So kobolds first appear in Germanic folklore as domestic spirits. Kobolds are also considered mine spirits, causing cave-ins and tapping on things in the dark to scare miners
Think the elves from The Elves and the Shoemaker, but bastards
This association with mines and caves and bastardy gets them into the world of tabletop RPGs when Gary Gygax adds them to his fantasy supplement of Chainmail. Kobolds are later added to Dungeons & Dragons as a subterranean race of monsters
Here’s the important thing: due to a throwaway line in the rulebooks about the kobolds having doglike voices, the first artist to depict a D&D kobold gave it a dog nose
This is the beginning point in the divergent evolution
Kobolds in western TTRPG will notoriously become more and more reptilian with each generation, leaning on the interpretation of “chihuahua dragons,” but it’s at this time, heavily inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, that the video game series Wizardry begins
They brought the dog kobolds with them
Wizardry becomes extremely popular in Japan, inspiring JRPG series like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy as well as manga series like Dungeon Meshi. And while in the west the kobold has become increasingly reptilian with each edition, the Japanese kobold has become increasingly canine
And this is why in the greater fantasy genre, kobolds represent everything from
