Tag-Team Forest Hyjinks (Closed- Aya)
On overhearing the hubbub of the fact that a strange new place to explore had just so happened to randomly show up in the middle of nowhere: well, that was far too suspicious-sounding and a potential link for clues as to why they were trapped here for such an intelligent mind as his own to simply ignore now, wasn’t it? However, not trusting the airships that apparently took one there as far as he could throw them - his motion sickness had churned his poor frail body at even the thought of that - he had ultimately decided to use the teleporter apparently in the ‘Civil Service’ building instead. Though it was uncertain what risks and potential dangers this place held: if it gave further idea as to why and how the trapping happened, then it was worth that risk. However: he hadn’t ran in blind, saving up Mana before going just to be on the safe side. In a flurry of light, the boy blinked and shivered as thick mist - no, fog - swirled about him in cold airs. From....what little he could SEE even with his glasses, it appeared to be a forest: looked positively ancient with those gnarled, waving branches. Still, he doubted that there were any answers to be found here, away from civilisation. The most logical thing was to find a way out, and then investigate any more populated areas: but the thick fog and unsettling scenery did little to set his nerves off edge. So much so, that when he heard loud branches rustle, he ducked out of instinct: and it seemed his nerves had played to advantage, as a poorly-fired arrow missed his beloved hat by a mile. Whirling, Klug raised his book at seeing what seemed a large group of narrowed, gleaming eyes from the fog: the eyes held no pity in them, despite him being a teenager, so the boy’s smart mind knew better than to even try reasoning with them. Ugh....he was really out numbered, but he wasn’t about to just make himself an easy target here... if only there was someone to help him deal with the number disadvantage, though...

The artist’s studio is...not what he expected.
Considering the state that the island was in, Akira shouldn’t be surprised to see how ruined it is, yet it hurts him for whatever reason. He’s not the best with art (especially considering who was the artist among his group of friends) but even so, he can still tell that this place is...not the place it was once upon a time.
It reminds him in so many ways of what happened back with Madarame and Yusuke, but in some ways it’s not the same. There wasn’t anything that proved it to be similar, but maybe it’s just because the artist had become important to him as a friend and teammate...or it’s just him relating this to something that’s familiar to him to make more sense of it.
Maybe the painting is why it reminds him of the artist - a woman smiling with a pocket watch in hand. Thoughts of the Sayuri pop up in his mind, and he has to look away to prevent himself from tearing up too much. It just brings back memories that mean a lot to him, even though it feels like so long ago when it happened (it was barely even a year ago).
Tumblr media
Akira looks around, only to see someone entering the studio. “Are you here to investigate too?” He asks, the words leaving his mouth before he has much of a chance to think.

Child’s eyes linger on her surroundings— it is in moments like this that she does not quite completely grasp human nature, ponders what flow of emotions might have led to something like this. Even when her reaction is horrified by the sight she has been greeted with, there is an ever-curious gleam that lingers in her expression, and Ahiru cannot help but voice some of the questions that plague her aloud: for she has never been quiet, cannot help but vocalize at least a little bit at all times.
Tumblr media
“But who would ruin such a nice place? It’s such a... a mean thin’ to do! Just like that, gone... no wonder everyone seems so defensive ‘round here.” Lip sticks out in a pout at the reminder, arms crossed as she at least attempts to seem thoughtful. “...Would it be so wrong for ‘em to restore it, though? Seems like it’d be the least they could do, y’know, like... like, an apology for everything.” Because apologies help fix things, don’t they? Okay, things might not be that simple, but she’d like to hope for the best; what’s so wrong about that?

Exploring the research facility was completely and utterly exhausting. The detective was used to working long nights and he was even used to the physical strain of pushing through large the athletically intense labyrinths known as palaces in short amounts of time, but even still, something about this was a new level of tiring.
He’s decided to chalk it up to interdimensional jet lag, which doesn’t seem to be a completely far-fetched theory, all things considered.
Still, he wanted to cover more ground before he went back to somewhere safe to sleep. He’d have to return to the facility at least one more time to finish going through the majority of it, but there were other places to look, as well.
That’s what lead him to the artist studio. He figured it would be an easy investigation. That it would be a more relaxing way to gather information before he inevitably headed to sleep.
Tumblr media
He didn’t actually expect to doze off while staring in contemplation at the paintings.

As soon as Hana had noticed the peculiar islands floating in the sky, she immediately wanted to go and explore them, so, along with a ton of other people, she set out for the airships that could transport her there. She didn’t remember these being here, but she supposed it was possible she had just missed them previously. Either way, that wasn’t her main focus today. She’d heard it was pretty hostile there, but that wasn’t anything new, she was a trained solider - how dangerous could it be?
Her answer, once she got there, was extremely. She’d been fighting since the time she had made it into the first forest, although most of those were trivial fights. Simple bandits were never going to best her, not with her light gun anyway. They barely had any tact, and she could hear them coming in time to shoot them down. Usually just their legs, enough so that they couldn’t follow her and were no longer a threat. It’s not as though she was looking for a fight, it just seemed to be coming to her, much to her dismay. Hana didn’t enjoy injuring these strangers, but there wasn’t much she wouldn’t do when threatened.
Tumblr media
Once she had made it into the first town- or what was left of the town- it was different. These were no longer simple bandits, they looked to be soldiers, and just as hostile. One on one wasn’t too bad, but she was finding herself surrounded by two now, and that proved to give her a slight challenge. Keeping them both mid distance away was going to be her downfall- lacking any short ranged weaponry. She didn’t have a chance to shoot one or the other, lest give up her space between her and another solider and risk injury. For now, all she could do was duck and dodge attacks, attempting to space herself from them further at every opportunity.

Mysteries upon mysteries... It would seem that before Saihara or anyone here can find out the truth behind one mystery, another opens up to them. Some amount of obligation mixes with a genuine desire to discover all there is to be discovered, and before long, he’s made plans with Momota to explore the abandoned research facility.
Thus, here they are, standing in the administration offices. To be perfectly honest, it’s still... surreal to be able to investigate alongside Momota again. Despite reuniting prior to this, searching for the truth together once more... brings a mixture of feelings to the surface. Nostalgia, mainly, yet there’s also... doubt. Doubt that such happiness will be able to last forever. Doubt that this is real. In order to believe, a little doubt is necessary, but even so...
One glance at a piece of information, followed by a thorough scan, threatens to shatter that belief altogether.
He can’t help the way his hands shake slightly, processing the information... before turning to face Momota.
Tumblr media
“...Momota-kun... Have you heard of the HXR 27H galaxy before?”
Hesitation and disbelief blend into his tone, deciding to question the validity of the mentioned galaxy before letting his thoughts run too amok.
Although... if even their memories of the galaxies could have been faked within that fictional world...

How ominous. Unsurprisingly, abandoned building isn’t very well lit; left in ruin for however long, one can only guess. Can’t help but be reminded of a ruined castle and whispered promises, but pushes those memories far into the recesses of his mind— now is not the time for distractions. Riku steps further into the room he has come across, squints as his eyes adjust to the change in lighting, and: bodies dressed in such a manner than he can only conclude they must have been a person of status, royals perhaps. Bodies preserved in glass chambers reminds you of another time, six princesses without hearts and a—
His head is spinning. Breathe. Right. He needs to breathe, notes how stagnant the air seems; perhaps a hint of something else he can’t quite name. Now is not the time to let himself be overwhelmed, does not know what lingers in these corridors, danger could be around the corner. With the adrenaline still running through him, his senses feel heightened, and— footsteps. He’s in no mood to take chances, and casts off a quick firaga spell as both a precaution ( to light up the way a bit brighter ) and a warning.
Tumblr media
“Who’s there?” Fingers cling tight to the hilt of his blade, doesn’t bother to give benefit of the doubt first ( a wrong move could be a perilous thing ).

traversing the whole island on foot required considerable energy and stamina, but amami didn’t mind-- the mindless walking sat alright with him. every part of the island was teeming with information, and he’d met people-- both old and new. it was... interesting, to say the least.
the mayor’s announcements, her words-- they’re heavy on his mind. he doesn’t lost his smile, as he walks towards the docks-- this was the first thing he should have done, and yet he’d managed to keep away.
approaching the boats aren’t quite the best idea, amami knows. he still finds it fantastical that they’d ridden a flying ship to a flying island, but it seemed like it was true. would he be able to see the edge of the island at the docks? haha, maybe he really was dreaming.
... it’s being ravaged, he can see. he could tell that even from afar, and he laughs awkwardly, rubbing at the back of his neck. at this rate, they wouldn’t be able to go near the ships at all. he wonders how hostile the people near the ships are. would conversation work?
taking a few steps closer, then grimacing.
he’s not well equipped to fight them at all...
sighing and turning around to go back--
when he sees a familiar face. blinking, then laughing easygoingly, though a little troubled. after all, his conversation with the mayor had been public knowledge... and here he was, retreating from a potential adventure.

scoping out the boarding docks is something that hawks will unfortunately admit to being an absolute terrible idea; in fact, it was so awful, that he had stripped himself of his feathers and was forced to retreat in order to find a safe place to lay low. without his feathers, he was as good as dead out here, and he could only hope that he would regain full control of them soon; not being able to use them offensively put him at a huge disadvantage; however, after more had been uncovered about these islands, it would be a crime for him to not to continue being present here.
which is how he landed himself in his current situation :
crouched in a dense thicket and covered in dirt and dried blood with his knees to his chest to stay as small as possible, hawks mused it would only be a matter of time until someone found him; with his wings plucked clean, it gave him a better chance to stay hidden, but he could only rely on this for so long. he was tired, hungry, and slowly wearing thin; while it wasn't the worst situation he has been in, it certainly wasn't the best and his optimism could only take him so far. perhaps. . . he should have stayed with that small, angry girl; he mused he would have gone mad bickering with her constantly, but his chances would have been a lot better. if only he had watched his own temper. . .
not having any of his feathers to patrol the area to check if it's save, the hero could only make a wild guess and keep a steady head on his shoulders; one wrong move and it could mean death— he wasn't about to take that lightly, either. slowly, he rises from his position, too on guard to care that his muscles ached from cramping himself; steadily, he began moving and winced at every stick and leaf that loudly cracked under his boots. he had enough training to handle close combat, but if those villagers obtained any guns. . . there's no telling how it would turn out; it was worrisome to consider and hawks didn't know if he could stomach having to kill a civilian: hostile or not.
only a few minutes into his trek and he realized he had been spotted after boisterous shouting rang loudly from the distance; heart hammering in his chest, he darted from his current position and ran as quickly as his legs could carry him. those that caught up to him, he managed to render unconscious due to them only attacking him one at a time; however, those skirmishes had set him back and three more men had caught up to him at once. . . he was surrounded and far too exhausted to put up a decent fight. . . but he had to. muscles aching in protest as he moved in to strike, he managed as well as he could; not a single man would leave this unscathed and he reckoned he had blackened all of their eyes, but it wasn’t enough. one heavy hand to his gut left him winded and the next blow that hit the back of his head made the world spin; now restrained, once his eyes refocused, his head snapped up and his eyes widened in primal fear—

It was one thing to end up in an unfamiliar place (again, though at least this time she has more of an idea of where she is), but at least this is better than the academy. She wasn’t being forced to kill anyone to leave, but she didn’t exactly well...trust the city.
After all, considering the academy that was more of a prison wasn’t real, Maki wasn’t really sure how much she could trust the city. And this whole ‘pairing project’ just didn’t sit right with her..why her of all people? Surely there were people better suited for this.
Maybe that’s what leads her off to the islands. To figure out what is going on with this city, and maybe get some answers about why she’s here. She doesn’t think it’s too much to ask for answers, but then again, she has no idea what awaits her there.
Then again, she certainly didn’t expect to find a certain blonde pianist right when she arrived. It’s enough to make her doubt it’s real but...she knows this isn’t a dream. Might as well bite the bullet right?

Forest Drums ( Closed - Kanon)
After that display and essentially - warning of what to expect every time he went to the forest of the floating island thanks to the exhausting shenanigans he and Strange had gotten themselves in yesterday: today now that he had rested and given his Mana a chance to recover: he had come in a little wiser and more ready. Before even going into the teleporter of the Civic Center this time: he’d powered up his spells with Planet’s Power in advance. That way as soon as he saw something off, he was already prepped and ready to fire off a high-powered spell to knock or put to sleep. As last time, he had landed in the forest. Had to make his way out and head to the town unlike last time, so he kept his guard up as he walked with careful, slow steps so as to not attract either bandits or one of the wild animals he’d heard before...

█ ▌♡ Event starter for @mochafururin
Tumblr media
        ❛ You aren’t hurt anywhere right ? ❜
█ ▌♡ He asked quietly as he looked around the area. It was safe enough, thankfully, but this was not a situation he wanted to be in with someone considerably younger then him that was also unarmed and didn’t seem to be familiar with any sort of offensive weaponry. This wasn’t an ideal situation at all, but as long as they were in a safe place it would be alright. He had simply came into the research facility to attempt to find anything that may help everyone get off this island but instead he found some parts were rather hostile and other places were dark and dangerous for those that were easily startled because of the strange noises echoing through the facility.
❛ Were you trying to find something ... or someone, possibly ? ❜

Shiver passes through her body, hair raising shudder; there is some indistinct regret across her expression, stepping closer to the stranger that she’s opted to tag along with. She doesn’t recall her reasoning for wanting to explore such an ominously creepy place, all things considered— no, that’s a lie, you know the exact logic behind making that choice: exploring sounded fun, and that had outweighed the part of her that knew she would be so easily frightened. But on the bright side ( because she is never one to linger on the negatives ), she is at least not alone in this place, which is at least somewhat reassuring. More importantly, however—
Tumblr media
“Can you please put that away?” Her eyes can’t but linger on the sword the other wields: she has seen her fair share of sharp-tipped weapons, is reminded of an arguably less pleasant time of her life. Furthermore, she does not like thinking such is really necessary to have out, even in such an unpleasant place; thinking that conflict is inevitable just isn’t her way.

It takes a lot of digging and a few close calls before the detective finds himself in the administration office of the research facility. He checks the area as soon as he enters, preparing his recently obtained simple weapon before settling down at there being no danger.
He sighs and gets to work, looking through drawers and folders and trifling through papers. He’s not sure what he’ll be able to find here, but anything is better than nothing in his eyes.
It’s when he’s in the middle of reading through a particularly interesting document that he hears someone else enter the area. He looks up quickly, though his expression remains neutral.

Oh. Just another curious wanderer. The boy smiles in greeting.
“Aha, hello. Are you searching for answers, too?”

Rumour had reached Soraya that the villages in this kingdom were a danger to those who passed, and truly she couldn’t help but be a little nosey.
She was an adventurer after all, and curiosity had yet to kill this cat.
It was more to it than that though. Someone whom she had spoken to before setting out on this journey seemed to have been separated from their friends. Soraya could understand how worried they would be, sharing the same worry about her own friends, and sympathized with the cause. It was far from her nature to leave someone in danger anyway.
It hadn’t taken long to find some sort of danger. As Soraya made her way to this village’s center, she could see people scuttling in the shadows. Hand hovered over her mogtome, pondering if she should switch out her Scholar’s tools for Summoners... but the thought of someone being in danger caused her to hesitate.
She decided to take whatever came as she was. It wasn’t as if she was defenseless as she was.
And it wasn’t as if she could use her egi anyway.
It was when she paused to take a look at her surroundings that an arrow whizzed by, narrowly missing her as she sidestepped. Angrily, people stepped out of the shadows, and more then Soraya had originally counted. No matter, she could handle it.
They didn’t look ready to talk, which was fine. The Warrior of Light wasn’t much of one for words. Her mogtome was pulled up and held out, making a very unthreatening ‘kupo’ noise.
There wasn’t time for her to cast a spell or for another to rush in and attack before their attention averted, causing Soraya to follow their gaze. A woman, one Soraya could easily tell was not with them.
Tumblr media
“I don’t know what they want, but if you’re not with them, I suggest moving elsewhere lest you get hurt.” Briefly did their eyes meet, Soraya’s gaze holding firm and not showing any sign of concern for what was about to go down. She felt no threat from the new arrival, and quickly went back to counting and surveying those who meant her actual harm. “Or, you can fight. Choose wisely.”
