Hello!?! So this is my second time ever sending an ask, so excuse if its poorly written</3

So, as far as i am aware, i'm not a system, i have system friends and i can see a clear difference between us, even if they are clearly not the same either.

Thing is, at times i have odd moments where, lets say, i'm deeply attached or for some reason i follow through with a character, and i look fan content. What usually happens is simple, i enjoy the content and move on! But theres been a few times i've had literal panics when something went on with these characters, lemme explain-

Scrolling down on ao3, as one does, i find a fic of my fave poly king, the boyfailure of the year! But the content of the desc for some reason freaked me out and i had a panic of sorts where i thought "that is not me, i wouldnt do that" and after an hour to calm down i had to pause 'cause it wouldnt stop?? And when i calmed down i had to double take what went on with my freakout, this has happend many times now with a lot of characters(?) I'm curious if thats even normal or not, given that, for all i know, i'm just a guy???

Also i have very especific memories to one particular character that arent canon?? But i am sure they happend?? I'm /gen with this one

What you're describing sounds a lot like fictionfolk experiences – in particular, plural (fictive) or fictionkin experiences. Lots of fictives and fictionkin can relate to having memories that don't match their related source material (which are known as pseudomemories or exomemories), as well as having a visceral "I would not fucking do/say that" reaction to fanworks of their source. Although, I would say that "double take" feeling you describe much more often falls under fictive experiences. It's not impossible for this to be a fictionkin experience, of course (some posts on very strong kin shifts come to mind), I just see that sort of thing discussed more often in the plural community (however, I acknowledge that that may be because I'm more active in the plural community than any 'kin community). But regardless, I want to reiterate that what you're describing reminds me of the experiences of many fictionfolk.

I won't say anything for sure, but if you're certain you are not a system, then I'd encourage you to look around the fictionkin and extended fictionfolk communities and see if you relate to any of it. You don't have to take up any particular label, of course – you can still be and describe yourself as "just a guy" – I just think you'd probably be able to find a lot of folks who understand your experiences there.

Rey, who is in my very biased opinion, one of the funniest "girls" I have because she's just a guy, truly. Like Rey is just short for Reynold because he was recruited by a a goddess to help the hero she selected and the hero is conveniently Reynold's younger brother. So he agrees to help under the condition that the goddess gives him a female body for the other world. She's like "really odd flex but whatever" and gives him a female form and he's like "you know. I can't really blame anyone but myself for not specifying 'please don't turn me into a Lisa Frank personification'."

#my characters #ya know since i draw daily idk if ill do any challenges this month #i know theres a LOT of them out there but i might hold off and do huevember as a challenge and let this month just be chill #for what its worth he only asks for a female body because his baby brother (like 10 years younger than him)#commented ONE TIME ugh its so weird to have you dote on me like this #why couldnt you have been an older sister or look less suspicious #so when sent to help his brother hes like RIGHT GOT IT GIRL TIME LIKE THE MOST LOGIC COURSE OF ACTION #then does a really good job at helping the hero and then gets abducted by the demon army and #as rey keeps challenging the demons checking on him in the dungeon (who are all very kind?) to just interrogate him already #and they just ask why would they do that? they just wanted her outta the way for a bit #cause they dont actually want to hurt anyone and then the demon lord keeps personally visiting rey and continues #to point out how she gives him a headache and how the core is different than the shell #and so then he offers to revert rey back to his original form and reynold immediately accepts #and so now hes just a guy again surrounded by v nice demons #and hes like please just be mean ive been trained to handle violence you have to stop being nice #im not used to nice ok you have to be mean or else im going to develop stockholm syndrome #and the demons are just ?? we dont .... dont know.... what that is.......... what.....#then he gets engaged to the demon lord and all is well ! he becomes the trophy husband to the demon lord #and the world is saved (it was never at risk)#i have a lot of love for the idiots in this plot #because reynold and sascha are literal husbands thinking oh no my beloved husband is only married out of convenience to meeee #and solei is the goddess who recruited him and is so mad that reynold is more of a gremlin than sascha #like why is this mere mortal somehow worse than THE DEMON LORD how in the world #and reynold runs around just adopting all of the demon army and is like yeah #ill be the trophy husband with a hundred kids and a hot 7ft tall demon husband who can change into a huge dragon #and hes really content in this role!#but for a while he does appear as rey and hates how much of a highlighter he is

Ok so, ive seen some people on here draw their Wynncraft characters/ocs and that looked like fun. So heres mine!

Balaís is an acolyte Shaman (which is a really fun archetype, i can redommend it). he sits currently at level 75, as my highest level playthrough

Anyway, time to talk design. I hate drawing armor so you only get pauldrons, the armor is changing a lot anyway during my game so... the other equipment should be acounted for. The portal encounter is based on me standing in the portal for a minute and getting disappointed. while the golem parts are from me not following the wynn-OSHA regulations for production safety.

#the klock keeps ticking #ouran high school host club #i watched ouran when i was 13 and repressed ah the classic experience yes yes #and i always said id rewatch but never did. until now cuz im going through something #im like halfway through and yeah id say theres quite a lot that ages like milk lol #like mostly just the way haruhi is treated is just. bad lol #a good thing is i like how haruhi personally feels about their own gender where they really honestly dont fucking care #which was a big relief cuz similar cases will have the ‘secret girl’ character either be really defensive #or you know. be like a naoto where its actually just the most uncomfortable thing ever #but the problem is the way that tamaki and occasionally the twins are like really obsessed with the girl thing #and constantly want haruhi to take on a feminine role cuz that wouldnt threaten their sexuality as much #tamaki in general is written so fucking weird lol and i do remember being based back then and hating him #and i never liked him with haruhi like im sorry hes just the worst option #hes capable of being funny when hes not being weird but I think he still ends up feeling horribly written #like when hes having his DRAMATIC LOVE INTEREST moments they just feel so horribly out of place #and theyre often times just badly aged tropes also the way haruhi is written in relation to the other members is weird #like i can see why theyd like the other characters but ive not really seen any reasons for them to like tamaki #but then the show will just randomly be like ‘oh yes haruhi thinks tamaki is a lovely person’ and its like. ooookay?#its ass lol and im probably preaching to the choir but like. haruhi is way better with a woman right?#i just know some desperate ass bastards have made some haruhi/renge content and i get it #other than that stuff i dont like i will say i enjoy what exists outside of the weird haruhi stuff #i like the characters and the concept is very funny and the episodes where everyone is normal are charming #and you know i gotta appreciate it for the impact it had on lame ass gay people even if the queer content is messy #ouran was just like. what we had for a long time. or at least was the most popular anime that featured queerness in some positive capacity #but also like. as it goes with this stuff once youve gotten to see better representation #you look back and youre like wow. im so fucking glad we can do better than this dogshit 😩

kh2 au where everythings exactly the same except roxas is hanging around sora chara style. hes not particularly a vengeful spirit but hes not very nice either. also nobody but sora can see him. hijinks ensue.

just started reading book 3 in this series and page 1 is taking no prisoners hgdshdslk

#YOURE DAMN RIGHT HES UNDESERVING #for like a solid half of book 2 i was going ''im going to strangle this man''#i think the worst part is how oblivious he is to his own shortcomings #like if he was cruel that would be one thing #but no he just. does not see women as people. and it never occurs to him that there could be anything amiss in his view of the world #krista d. ball said 'this man does not deserve a first name' and she was RIGHT #anyway please read the ladies occult society books by krista d ball if you like regency settings #specifically with a lot of detail. i cant speak to how Historically Accurate(tm) it is but there is clearly SO much care put into all of it #like describing the logistics of having dresses made and suchlike #it reminds me of in little women when they talk about needing new ribbon for a bonnet or something but like More of that. i love it #eliza does a lot of very careful budgeting because she has to #oh uh. content warning for several kinds of abuse. for sure financial & reproductive abuse but possibly other kinds as well #i feel like im not really selling the series here but it is SO interesting #focused on all the little ways women eke out some independence in a society that systematically denies them any #also theres magic #as of the end of book 2 there are bickering lesbian ghosts #im pretty sure anyway. lesbianism not yet confirmed but like. frankly i would be very surprised if theyre not gay #characters who were never married but are still somehow divorced.#i should also say it isnt Romance it is Historical Fantasy #i think there is going to be a romance at some point. but it is definitely not the main focus & it's possible there wont be one #im rooting for mr sidney sinclair at the moment but we dont know him that well yet. he might turn out not to be trustworthy #anyway. good series. enjoying it #bookposting

i do think the amount of comparisons between black sails and ofmd - both favorable and unfavorable tbh - is a little out of hand lmao like even before the flint vs stede poll there was a lot of it and its like. they are completely different shows with completely different goals. i just saw someone call ofmd a "black sails ripoff" and honestly what the fuck are you talking about. is black sails a pirates of the caribbean ripoff?? is there only allowed to be one television show about pirates and everything else is a copy?? or is it just the fact that there are also gay characters in it? im just like there are PLENTY of real and good criticisms why does it always come back to this. let them exist separately

#kisstalks #maybe this is a terminal online take but i think unless youre in a BL fandom #or predominantly fujo spaces #theres very much a lot of focus on and discussion around female characters.#is there less smut of them? yeah because fanfic authors are mostly straight girls #and straight girls like men. crazy shit i know #but things like disco elysium where the two protagonists are middle aged dudes still have huge fanbases for their female characters #like klaasje and ruby and cunoesse etc etc #if you arent seeing the content you want? 1) make it 2) talk about it w people in the fandom 3) look somewhere else
