The Meet-Cute, Chapter 1 - Ace
Source for pic
Word Count: 2153
Warnings: Fem!Reader, very minor swearing. This is going to be a series featuring Ace, Sanji, Law, Zoro and Kid.
Special warning: English is not my first language!
Summary: You had your life in Grand Line City all figured out. A wonderful job, a fiancé and a shared apartment. Until you found out he was cheating. Your father, Shanks, had a horse riding accident and you decided that this was just the right time to return home. You were expecting a peaceful, uneventful life back in the Calm Belt, but, fate had other plans.
|Chapter 2 - Kid|
It feels weird coming back home. Actually, it feels weird calling this place home. You left the tranquillity of the countryside behind before finishing high school, deciding to live with your mother when she and your father separated because you always had a restless spirit and the Calm Belt is far too quiet for you to feel fulfilled.
It hurt to leave friends behind. When you’re in highschool your friends are akin to family and you feel like they will be with you forever, through thick and thin. And though you still text some of them regularly - Nami and Robin - other friends and acquaintances naturally drifted apart.
You finished your college education and pursued a master’s degree while working at a prestigious company. Life in Grand Line City is amazing and fulfilling. You have wonderful friends, an active social life and your own place, which you share with your fiancé.
Well… ex-fiancé.
This is actually one of the reasons you are returning home. He’s the son of the owner of the company you worked for and, as you discovered after four years together, a marriage proposal and a shared life, he is a fuckboy.
The signs were always there, really, you just didn’t want to see them.
Another reason for your untimely return is the horse riding accident your father had. He assured you over the phone that he is fine and doesn’t require any help around the house, because his neighbours and friends have been helping him, but you are still worried about him.
He can be strong and very able, heck, he is still in his early fifties, but ever since he lost his arm when he was young, you felt the need to protect him, somehow. And, frankly, the timing could not have been better. You need to get away from the city.
Your mother doesn’t need your company anymore and spends a lot of her time on cruises - where she is at the moment - and you still speak with her every day on the phone, your apartment has become a landfill of hurtful memories and you quit your very promising job on the day you found out about your good-for-nothing boyfriend.
So now, at 25, you are returning to your hometown, your tail between your legs and seeking the care and comfort you know your father can instil in you. You’re still not quite sure what you are going to do with your life moving forward, but for now, all you need is a little rest and relaxation, time with your father to help him heal, and to clear your head.
And definitely, no men to hinder your life!
-*-
Ace:
“Daddy, I’m home!” You call as soon as you open the front door with the key you never took out of your keychain.
A freckled face with a wide grin pops up from the kitchen. His greasy black hair is sweaty and clings to his face. “Oh, hi, princess, welcome home.” The man walks out of the kitchen, still grinning. He’s only wearing jean shorts and a cowboy hat.
Your eyes drink him in as if he’s a tall glass of water. Top to bottom and bottom to top. This man is sinful, to say the least. And familiar, somehow… Sweat drips from his glistening pecs towards his sculpted abs and drenching the hem of his shorts.
He leans in the doorframe, one leg lazily crossing over the other, and pops the can of beer open with just one hand, taking a long, lazy gulp while his dark eyes wander all over you. “Like what you see, gorgeous?”
You swallow the lump that formed in your throat and inhale deeply while a crimson flush settles on your cheeks. “And who are you supposed to be?” Good, your voice is still there and not as squeaky as you thought it would be.
“Your daddy?” He chuckles at your unamused face, finishes the beer with another long gulp and crumples the can, forming a fist while the other hand presses against his heart. “You don’t remember me?” Shaking his head, he feigns a hurt expression. “And here I thought we had something in the past.”
Your confused face must be amusing him because he keeps grinning at you and, damn, how hard is it to stop looking at his sculpted body? It’s just a man! And yet his face is just as interesting… with those sweet sun-kissed freckles and-... oh!
“Ace?” The hat! The freaking cowboy hat and the attitude? Plus, how could you forget those freckles!
He is one of the neighbour’s grandsons. Mr. Garp. You went to school with the youngest, Luffy, and you hung out together quite often so you knew Ace well. He was a little troublemaker but once he hit puberty… you used to sigh and dream about him quite often, him being the older brother of one of your best friends. That was always a trope you were interested in. But then you left and those dreams stayed behind.
“Finally! I was actually getting hurt, you didn’t remember me!” He laughs while you grin back at him. “Can I get a hug?” The smile he gives you makes his freckles move and you blush some more.
“Hell, no. You look disgusting.” You scrunch up your nose feigning repugnance at him because of his sweaty body.
He pouts at you and you actually laugh out loud. “Wish I could say the same for you but, damn.” He looks at you from top to bottom again. You’re dressed in tight jeans and a purple top that shows a lot of cleavage and curves. “You look mighty appetising.”
You blush some more and it’s his turn to laugh out loud as he passes you by and picks up your heavy luggage like it weighs nothing. “Show me the way to your room, princess.” He winks at you and nods his head for you to lead the way.
You start walking towards the stairs and he follows you without putting on any shirt, so you keep your eyes ahead, enjoying the way nothing has actually changed in your childhood home.
“Where’s my dad?” You ask nonchalantly. “You’d think that after half a year without seeing me, he’d be waiting by the door.” It’s your turn to pout now.
“He’s fixing the fence outside. One of the bulls broke it and he wanted to mend it himself before any animal escapes.”
“What!?” You suddenly stop while climbing the stairs and Ace bumps into you, his head straight into your ass as you were a few steps ahead. “Ace!”
“I’m sorry!” He apologises as all the bags come crashing down the stairs, one of them opening up and scattering all the contents on the floor. “You just stopped! You gave me zero warning!” His face is as red as yours because you can still feel his face pressed against your bottom, his nose nearly at your core and you are so embarrassed. “I’ll help you pick this up.”
Ace goes down a few steps and starts to gather your clothes but, as soon as his hands start to pick things up, you realise which suitcase fell and your heart sinks as you hurry down before he sees it.
“It’s okay! It’s okay, Ace! I’ve got it!” You rush, kneel by his side and your hand reaches at the same time as his but you're too late.
“Wow.” He mutters. His face is serene, though you can perceive the way his lips are thinning as if he is trying to hold back a smirk.
“Shut up. Just throw it in the bag and don’t say a word.” You’ve never blushed more in your life than the way you are now. Why, oh why was the bag with your personal items the one that opened up? And why has Ace picked up your vibrator of all the things scattered around?
You are mortified. But he complies without another word, though his smirk returns to his lips.
Bag filled again and closed, both of you resume your walk up the stairs. Your blush has settled permanently on your cheeks and you know there is nothing to be done about it but own it. You are a grown-ass woman, without a boyfriend, and you aren’t ashamed to say that you like pleasuring yourself.
“Why is my father mending the fence if he’s supposed to be resting?” You ask, trying to change the subject.
“Ah well, you see, he is a very stubborn man, so even though the doctor told him to stay in bed and rest, he replied with: ‘Screw you, son, I’m fine and I do what I want. and he did just that.” Ace sighs. “I was helping him when you arrived. Your father is fine, as you’ll see for yourself. He just gets a lot of back pain when he’s up for a while and needs to rest more.”
You nod as you make your way through the corridor, glancing at pictures of yourself as a small child and of you and your father wearing smiles and goofy grins. You get your stubbornness from him so you know he can be quite strong-headed.
“Here we are.” You stop at your door and Ace sets down the luggage, his face turning serious.
“Why did you come back?” His dark eyes pierce yours and you can see he’s serious.
“I…” You struggle to find the right words. “I came back to help dad. I don’t want him to be alone.”
“Bullshit.” His arms cross in front of his bare chest and your brows scrunch together. “Your father is fine, which I’m sure he told you over the phone.”
You sigh. “I was homesick.”
“Bullshit.”
“I wanted to spend more time with my dad and...”
“Bullshit.”
“...with my friends, I’ve missed Nami and...”
“Bullshit.”
“...Robin, and...”
“Bullshit.”
“Fine!” You scream. Your arms cross defensively in front of your own chest and you look away from him as you feel your lower lip start to tremble and your eyes fill with tears. “I caught my fiancé cheating, and I needed a change of scenery.”
The silence that surrounds you both after that is not at all unpleasant and it helps soothe your unshed tears. “Well, it’s his loss, princess. Some men don’t know the difference between pinchbeck and gold.”
You catch his eyes and he gives you a small smile and a nod with his hat. “I’ll be around. I help your father around the property all the time.” As he reaches the stairs, he stops and stares back at you, a very mischievous grin on his lips. “If you run out of batteries and still feel pent up, give me a call, will you, princess?”
And he was out of your sight before you could reply.
-*-
You take some time settling in your old room, removing old posters and storing your stuffed toys in a box to put in the attic. You consider looking for your father but you aren’t exactly sure where he is. Besides, Ace is probably still with him and you want to avoid him, for now.
Your teenage self is gleeful and revelling in the attention he has given you today but your adult self keeps reminding you that men are only good at breaking your heart, and nothing else.
Well… actually men are good for something else… but are you in the mood for some meaningless, rebound sex?
Your mind reminds you of perfectly sculpted, glistening and sweating abs and pecs; a beautiful freckled smile and a silly, goofy attitude.
Rebound sex doesn’t sound so bad, after all…
“Sweetie? Are you upstairs?”
“Daddy!” You scream as you drop the clothes you were putting in your closet on the bed and rush out the door, jumping down the stairs, two at a time, to hug the red-headed man waiting for you at the bottom.
“Hey! Here’s my little cowgirl! How are you, bug?” His strong arm envelops you in a tight hug as he plants kisses on your head, forehead and cheeks.
“Daddy… I’ve missed you.” Your heart clenches against your chest at the security and comfort only Shanks can provide, and tears well up in your eyes again. You purse your lips trying to stifle away the sobs that are clawing at your throat but your father catches on quickly.
“It’s okay, bug, it’s okay. I’ve got you. The asshole doesn’t deserve you, anyway.”
You had yet to have the opportunity to share with your father what had happened between you and your ex so, if he knows, it was either the work of your mother, or Ace… and your mother is on a cruise.
Either way, it feels good to be back in the safety of your father’s arms. Back in your hometown, back in your house, back in your room.
What adventures await you, you can’t help but wonder.

that one zoro and law one where the reader wakes them up but now its them waking the reader up (revenge or just on accident is up to you)
((Eesh it's been a couple months since that one. It feels like it wasn't too long ago though. Thank you for requesting!!))
When They Wake Their S/O Up
Characters: Zoro, Law Warnings: None, fluff! Part 1: here
Everything is GN!
ZORO
- He didn't mean to wake you up.
- He's all for not getting bothered during his own naptime, so he wasn't about to bother you during yours.
- Speaking of, he finds it rather peaceful to see you sleeping in the yard. The sun on your face, the way you look so content and relaxed. If it wasn't for the fact he was on his way to train he would have joined you.
- Regardless, he makes a note to keep quiet for you.
- Which, he tried really hard to do, but it was quickly in the back of his mind when he heard a voice behind him.
- "Quit starin' at them, you're gonna give them nightmares."
- Instant irritation, he looked over his shoulder, glaring.
- He was known to be quite irritable in two given situations. One, Sanji was in the vicinity, and two, Sanji talked to him.
- They were quickly arguing. Zoro started off quiet, he tried, but they weren't ever the best at keeping contained.
- That was, until a hand landed on both of their heads hard.
- "Will you two keep it down?! You're so loud you woke up (Y/N)!" Nami scolded, shaking her head at the both of them.
- Sanji is quickly apologizing to Nami, but Zoro is quick to look towards you.
- He gives you what could only be describes as his most apologetic look.
- It was his attempt anyway, but it looked more like a glare. Still, he hops down to the yard and walks over as you sit up to stretch.
- "Sorry," he mutters, crouching down and holding out his hand. "If you want some peace... you could come up with me." He made a gesture up to the crow's-nest.
- Once you're both up there, he ditches training for that afternoon to nap with you instead. Its a hard sacrifice, but... he felt like he owed you one.
LAW
- Law's a very busy person. But, he doesn't exactly expect the crew to be at the same standard he holds himself.
- That meaning, when his crew overworks themselves he'll scold them. As hypocritical as that sounds, he'd rather the whole crew be functional and spare a few more hours of his own sleep schedule than everyone be loopy and miserable.
- Which, all of this was why he was fine with members of the crew taking naps when they found some downtime.
- What he wasn't expecting though was to walk into the kitchen and see you face down on the table snoozing away.
- There was a blanket over your shoulders and a sign in front of you that read 'do not disturb'. He shook his head a bit and walked over.
- He didn't know what to do. he wasn't sure it'd be good for your muscles if you kept sleeping like that, but he also didn't want to disturb you and risk waking you up.
- He thought about moving you with his powers, but he couldn't trust that not waking you up either.
- So, now he was just staring at you, turning over ideas in his head. Really, he must've been looking through you because he hadn't realized you began to shift around until your eyes peered up at him.
- a soft confusion left your lips at why he was looking at you so harshly and it caused his face to glow.
- "Ah- I wasn't-" he paused and grumbled. "You shouldn't sleep at the table," he scolded, "you have your own bunk, use it." He turned around, tipping his hat down.
- He was a little embarrassed him thinking of ways to not wake you up ended up being the reason you woke up.
- He was also, admittedly, a little upset he hadn't just taken his opportunity to carry you, especially as he heard your footsteps echo out of the room.

Happy Birthday Zoro!!
I was meant to write several short fics today and instead I accidentally wrote this...enjoy!!
N.B: In Japan a birthday is generally spent with a significant other and you meet your friends/family on a day close to it (according to the Internet, I'm not Japanese). I used that idea in this fic for some miss communication! So yeah keep that idea in mind!
.........
A seagull flies tiredly towards the sight of land. It had taken weeks to fly this far into the Grand Line, its important letter pressed safely to it’s chest. It’d been paid handsomely for the journey. The two buffoon humans had given it very clear instructions to deliver the letter on this date exactly.
The bird’s sharp eyes scan the docks as the bird approaches closer to a large portside town. It spots the Jolly Rodger it’s been looking for and swoops to the deck, delighted to have a moment to rest its wings.
The deck is empty, much to the bird’s annoyance. It spots an open barrel of clear water though, and flaps over to it, drinking hungrily from it.
“Oi, bird.” Its eyes flick to a blonde-haired human stalking towards it. It pulls its beak from the barrel, happily sighing after hours of seeing only the seawater beneath it. “That’s for us, is it?”
It presses its chest forward, letting the human unclasp the string on the pouch and pull out the letter tucked inside.
“Eh? This isn’t the paper.” The curly eyebrows on the human’s face furrow as he inspects the envelope.
Sanji does his best to read the smudged name on the front, but the characters have bled together too much to discern it.
“This definitely for us?” The bird stares at him before pointing its beak at the Jolly Rodger above them. Before Sanji could ask how much they owe the bird, it takes off, clearly satisfied with its job.
“Weird.” The cook mutters to himself as he returns to the galley. He’d been enjoying the peace of organising the pantry after they’d restocked it yesterday. Everyone was off the ship except for Franky who was up in the crow’s nest on watch. He must be tinkering with something though, seeing as he didn’t notice the messenger bird himself.
The rest of the crew had disembarked to explore the island. Last Sanji had seen them most of the crew had been heading to the centre of the town to explore. Except for the mosshead that Sanji had watched head the opposite direction, inevitably in the middle of getting lost.
Sanji grabs a small knife from one of galley’s drawers and neatly cuts the top of the envelope open. A small piece of paper rests inside along with some berri. Sanji lets the money tumble onto the counter, now even more confused.
The slip of parchment is in much better shape than the envelope, but the handwriting is almost just as bad. The writer clearly didn’t have much experience in writing, but Sanji manages to read through it. His eyebrows raise as he takes in the words, slowly realising it’s meant for a certain green-headed idiot. It’s signed off by the two bounty hunters Sanji had met at Arlong Park, old friends of the Marimo.
They’re wishing him a happy birthday, the date on the letter matching perfectly with the day itself. They must have sent it some time in advance for a seagull to get all the way here to them.
It was the idiots birthday? He hadn’t said a damn word about it to them. He knew Sanji always cooked the crewmate’s favourite dish and dessert for the day. Nami probably would have given him extra money for a nice drink too, knowing how kind and wonderful the woman is.
Sanji lights the cigarette hanging from his lips. Unless the moron didn’t want them to know. It’d be just like him to see something like a birthday as unimportant or being embarrassed by the attention. He shifts his weight from foot to foot as he takes a few drags, reading the warm message sent by the bounty hunters, telling him to buy a drink on them with the berri enclosed. Clearly, he had told them about the day, had celebrated it at least once before with them.
Sanji slams his fist angrily on the counter, not quite sure where the emotion comes from, but screw the Marimo. He isn’t getting out of celebrating his birthday just because he thinks it’s above him. He’s sorely mistaken if he thinks he’ll avoid Sanji’s wrath when it comes to making a birthday dinner.
With his resolve solidified, Sanji begins piecing the ingredients together. He doesn’t realise it until he’s an hour into crafting the food, but he’s only making enough for two people. Well, he must go find the idiot. There’s no way Sanji will get the crew altogether at this point, and Zoro doesn’t have a chance of being back before midnight if he’s gone off on his own. As it stands, Sanji will be lucky to find him before nightfall.
He packs the meal into a basket when it’s ready, carefully packing it so nothing will be smushed or ruined. He briefly thinks of bringing two glasses with him but decides to just pack a bottle of sake and wine, the oaf will happily swig from the bottles anyways.
He calls up to Franky when he finally disembarks, the sky is coloured pink behind the crow’s nest, and Sanji feels a tension inside him to hurry up. The engineer hollers a goodbye as he leaves, making his way down the same route the swordsman had gone hours before. There’s deep sand on most of the route, and Sanji can make out the fake indent of the only pair of footsteps that have taken the path today.
----------------------------------------------
He finds the swordsman just as it’s getting dark enough that Sanji’s cigarette is becoming a guide of sorts, helping him from tripping over rocks and roots. The Marimo is swinging his swords around, cutting lightly into the bark of trees as his body twists and his legs seem to float beneath him.
For everything that Sanji hates about the other, he’s a beautiful fighter. There’s a grace to his power, a purpose to his strength and an elegance to his footwork. Sanji watches him for a moment, almost forgetting about his reason for showing up.
He’s soon brought back to the moment as Zoro catches sight of him in the corner of his vision. Of course, the idiot turns in his surprise and lunges forward, expecting the worst. Sanji easily kicks him out of his course to skewer the blonde. The mosshead isn’t expecting the kick and the darkness briefly confuses him as he stops his motion against a tree, coughing as the impact of the kick rattles his ribcage.
“Oi, what the fuck dart-brows?” He’s glaring at Sanji now, his pupils holding a glint from the flame of the cigarette. “Only way to land a hit is to sneak up on me?”
Sanji bites clean through his filter, letting his cigarette fall to the ground.
“Maybe if your reactions weren’t as slow as a door, then you could have blocked it.”
“Eh? You want to say that to me again?” Zoro’s voice is dangerous as he marches forwards.
He’s been training for hours, trying to work on quicker footwork rather than brute force. He’s tired, but also itching for a proper fight. He lunges at the cook, only being stopped as the blunt side of his katanas are blocked by a leg catching them in an X.
Sanji barely moves an itch at the impact, one of his hands in his pocket, his body somehow almost perfectly upright despite the angle of the kick. Zoro will never understand how a man can be so flexible.
“Watch it, idiot. If any of this goes to waste, I’ll kill you.” Zoro’s eye flick down to where Sanji briefly looks, only now noticing the basket handle he’s clutching.
“What is it?” Zoro leans back, his swords falling by his side as he studies the woven basket. It’s one the cook usually brings onto an island for lunch when they eat out on the sand. Maybe he’s doing the rounds on the crew.
“Food, so put your swords away and wash your hands over there.” Sanji motions to a nearby stream, his nose wrinkling at the sight of how sweat covered Zoro is. The swordsman listens for once, rolling his eyes as he heads over to it. He’d argue more but suddenly his rumbling stomach is reminding him that he hasn’t eaten anything since breakfast. He can always beat the cook’s face into the ground afterwards.
He uses the jumper he’d thrown off earlier to dry his face and hands after washing in the stream, and by the time he returns he’s met with quite the surprise. Sanji has sat himself down on a picnic blanket, he’s fussing over the layout of some rice balls on a plate. Rice balls, Zoro’s favourite thing to eat. Beside them is several plates of Zoro’s favourites food, most of them dishes he’d grown up eating. A nice bottle of Sake rests beside the empty side of the blanket, Sanji having a bottle of wine resting against his hip. Zoro feels like he’s accidentally walked into an alternative universe, maybe the forest is haunted, or this is some devil users influence.
“What the fuck, cook?” He stands over Sanji, his arms crossed as he deliberates unsheathing a sword or not.
“What?” Sanji growls, staring up at him with his one uncovered eye. “You got a problem, Mosshead?”
Zoro squats down, getting close to Sanji’s face, studying the familiar bump of his nose, the curve of his brows, the sweep of his hair. Sanji freezes, finally looking as confused as Zoro.
“You look like, Curley. Did you bang your head or something?” Zoro leans back on his heels.
Sanji is reeling, his lips still tingling from the tickle of breath that had ghosted over them when Zoro had spoken so close to him. He’s used to feeling breathless when they get that close, used to feeling a flush on his neck and a tightening in his gut, but usually it’s because he’s pissed off and about to unleash his best attacks. This isn’t that.
“Wha-What are you talking about?” Sanji shakes his head, trying to clear it.
“This.” Zoro waves at the blanket. “Why the fuck did you make all this? This is- well this is all stuff I like. You make this for the whole crew?”
Sanji breathes out a sigh of relief. Of course, the idiot is confused.
“I do this for everyone’s birthday, moron. Even yours.” He lights himself another cigarette, so he doesn’t have to look at Zoro’s reaction.
Zoro stares at Sanji for a long uncomfortable silence. The cook made all this for him? He came out here with it prepared for just the two of them to enjoy together? Not the whole crew, not like usual, not really. This is different. He’s treating Zoro differently. He’s planned this for just the two of them…on Zoro’s birthday…
Zoro sits the other side of the plates, grabbing a rice ball and taking a bite out of it. As always, it tastes annoyingly good. Every flavour and texture exactly how Zoro likes it, the weirdo having studied him for the months they’ve been travelling together. Hold on-
“How did you know it was my birthday?”
Sanji can feel the tick of annoyance on the back of his head. Of course, instead of giving any sign of enjoying the food or a compliment, the brute has to be suspicious. Instead of replying, Sanji grabs the slip of paper out of the inner pocket of his blazer and passes it over to Zoro, grabbing a rice ball for himself as his hand passes back over the picnic. He’s hungry too.
Zoro reads it while loudly chewing on another mouthful of food. Sanji tries to ignore how disgusting it is by studying the expression on Zoro’s face. The mosshead must feel him watching because he keeps his expression schooled, although his lips still perk up in the corners. He laughs a bit as he tucks it into his pocket.
Zoro doesn’t say anything more about it. The two eat in silence for a while, Zoro making his way through the sake at a scary pace, before pawing at Sanji for some of his wine too. The cook allows him, for once, given it is his birthday. But when the sound of eating starts to die down, he can’t help but ask the question that’s been eating at him ever since he opened the letter.
“Why didn’t you tell anyone it’s your birthday?”
Zoro wipes the back of his hand over his mouth, wiping away the dribble of red wine from his lips. He’s messy about it though and his bottom lip still glistens a bit, the shine only lit by the moonlight that was breaking through the trees above them, and the one candle Sanji had lit so they could see what they were grabbing.
“I didn’t think it was a big deal.” Zoro shrugs, eating the last of the fish to clean the final dish. “Plus, I didn’t want one of your shitty cakes.”
“Excuse me?” Sanji is genuinely floored by the comment. How dare the green haired idiot-
“They’re too sweet.” Zoro complains, playing with the hilt of his sword instead of saying it to Sanji’s face.
“No, you just hate sweet things.” Sanji huffs, putting some plates away in case he needs to lunge at the green-haired idiot to strangle him.
“And I wouldn’t make one for your birthday anyways, Marimo. I wouldn’t be the future pirate king’s cook if I was that bad at reading my crewmates tastes.”
Sanji feels his cheeks heat up as Zoro turns to him with a studying look, suddenly intrigued, or maybe impressed.
“Although now I don’t think you deserve the dessert I did make.” Sanji folds his arms, not quite over the earlier insult.
Zoro ignores the pout and reaches into the basket instead, Sanji watches him out of the corner of his eye. He can’t explain to himself why he’s suddenly so nervous about what Zoro will think of his choice of Birthday dessert.
The swordsman pulls out a small tub of one of the few desserts he genuinely enjoys, one that he remembers eating every summer at the dojo, passing them out between his classmates. He picks up one of the warabi mochi like it’s delicate, like he might crush it before it makes it to his mouth. Sanji had only made the dessert once, and Zoro had complained about some aspects of it. He thought the cook would never bother to try it again.
This time, it’s perfect. An honest moan leaves Zoro’s mouth as he swallows, his tongue licking at some of the filling that was left on his lips. Sanji feels his whole face flush red at the sight. His heart is drumming in his chest now, his eyes flicking between Zoro’s eyes and his lips. He watches his Adam’s apple as he swallows the first piece.
Sanji’s mouth dries up, his palms suddenly clammy. Zoro has never reacted so openly to anything Sanji has made for him. It unsettles him, it leaves him feeling warm and clumsy. He throws the bud of his smoked cigarette away and finds his fingers are shaking.
“You made this today, just for my birthday?” Zoro’s voice is soft, a foreign tone to Sanji’s ears.
“Obviously, idiot.” Sanji looks away then, he can’t look weak. He can’t let the mosshead realise how sick he suddenly feels. He wants to run away, to forget that Zoro can be soft, that the two of them can sit like this.
He hears Zoro moving, can feel him getting closer on the blanket. But he doesn’t say a word. When Sanji turns his head to see what the fuck is going on, he feels Zoro’s hand as it grasps the back of his head. He stares at Zoro’s closed eyes as their lips meet.
Sanji is pretty sure his heart stops. He feels winded as rough lips kiss him softly, as Zoro’s grip on the back of his neck is light, nothing like the way they usually grab one another. His lips taste like the syrup drizzled on the mochi and Sanji’s chef brain registers how it interacts with the dessert wine he’d brought with him, unintentionally matching the two so they form the perfect taste between their lips.
Sanji is breathless, his stomach now feeling like its own oven as a fire ignites. He can feel blood rushing south, his body reacting in a split second to something he hasn’t had since he left the Baratie, something he hasn’t had time to have.
He’s enjoying it, getting lost in the other body that draws itself closer to him. It’s only when Sanji’s eyes flutter closed, when his lips match the rhythm of the ones against them, that his brain catches up to body.
This is Roronoa Zoro he’s kissing.
Sanji pushes against the Marimo’s chest, Zoro falling back on his hands as he stares confused at the reaction. As though Sanji is the crazy one. Sanji places two fingers to his lips, his expression horrified.
“What the fuck was that?” He screams, waving his hands around, not sure if he should be kicking the oaf or running as quick as he can back to the ship.
“What?” Zoro huffs, not moving away from the blonde but glaring down at the sand in front of them. He looks confused too, like he wasn’t expecting Sanji to question him.
“What? What? You just kissed me, Mosshead. What the fuck is that about?” Sanji realises he’s panting between his words. He’s pretty sure he’s going into shock from how quick his blood pressure has risen.
Zoro’s gaze whips to the blonde, feeling hurt that Sanji is making a big deal about this, as though the cook didn’t start it.
“People kiss on dates!” He throws back, defensive as he realises, he’s just been rejected.
Sanji can’t even process the words Zoro has just spoken.
“What are you talking about?”
“Never mind.” Zoro goes to get up then, beyond embarrassed as he realises he’s spent the last half an hour misreading the situation entirely. Might as well make the rest of this as painless as possible to hopefully save face.
“Wait, you stupid fucking moss for brains.” Sanji grapples at Zoro’s wrist, pulling him back onto the blanket before he can straighten up. The cook is panicking now, thinking back to everything he’d said since arriving, unsure where Zoro’s logic had jumped to thinking it was a date.
I mean, the situation was very date like, Sanji muses. But it’s Zoro and Sanji, having a picnic beneath the moon and stars isn’t a date, it’s a truce.
Zoro looks furious now, his whole body is tense like a spring coiled to bounce. Sanji is starting to piece together the blush on the other’s face is genuine. Zoro thought it was a date. He kissed Sanji because he wanted to. He likes him.
The earth tilts beneath Sanji as he realises he’s not instantly disgusted. He stares at his own hand, anchoring Zoro in place. He clearly doesn’t want the swordsman to leave. Sanji doesn’t want this to be over.
“Why did you think it’s a date?” He almost whispers the words, afraid he’s hallucinating. That Zoro is going to turn and ask him what the fuck he’s on about.
“You- You made me a picnic for just the two of us…on my birthday.”
The sentence still doesn’t make the most sense to Sanji. He supposes, if he’d done it for a woman, maybe Sanji would see it as a possible first date. But the term first date and Zoro has no connection in his brain. It feels impossible that the two could be linked.
“I- I get that, baka. But- Well I- that doesn’t automatically mean it’s a date.” Sanji protests, letting Zoro slip his wrist away when he realises he’s not going to bolt.
“Well, that’s what people do on their birthday.” Zoro grumbles, looking anywhere but at Sanji. “They spend it with someone they like.”
He says the last word with a heavy emphasis so that it can’t be misunderstood.
Sanji is at a loss. He’s never heard of such a thing.
“Marimo, I have no idea what you mean. Most people spend it with family and friends.”
Zoro looks at him then, with genuine surprise.
“Not where I come from.” He splutters, showing his embarrassment now as his face flushes bright red, even worse than before. “Couples spend it together, and then- then you spend it with friends on a different day.”
Zoro wants the ground to swallow him up. He can handle rejection, he can handle being wrong, but he hates that he didn’t realise what he was doing. He though Sanji had been the one to be vulnerable, to offer up a date the way he did. He’d been surprised by the blonde’s bravery about it, had accepted the silent confession and responded to it as confidently as he could muster.
He’s an idiot.
Sanji takes in the unfamiliar expression of regret on the other man’s face, and feels his chest tighten. He doesn’t want Zoro to regret this. Sanji doesn’t regret it. As the confusion lifts, Sanji properly accepts his own reaction. It’s…unexpected…but then again, everything is on the Grand Line.
“Look Cook, just forget-”
It’s Zoro’s turn to be surprised by a hand grabbing his chin, by lips pressing onto his own and by the blonde that leans forward so close, Zoro could swear he was sitting on the swordsman’s lap.
“I was surprised, idiot. I didn’t say I didn’t like it.”
Zoro stares into Sanji’s eyes, their foreheads resting against one another as Sanji separates from the kiss long enough to speak.
“Well, you seemed fucking pissed off.” Zoro defends, muttering the words almost against Sanji’s lips.
Sanji sighs, Zoro scrunching up his nose at the sensation across his skin.
“That’s…fair.” Sanji feels Zoro’s arm wrap around his waist, he relaxes against the other man’s chest, a hand reaching up to caresses the side of Zoro’s face and run itself through his hair.
Sanji lets out a chuckle.
“This feels like a dream.” He admits, suddenly wondering how much wine he drank. Maybe, this is a dream.
“I know.” Zoro agrees, his arm tightening it’s hold on Sanji. His other arm wraps under Sanji’s ass and tugs him up onto Zoro’s thighs. The position a lot more comfortable than sitting side by side.
Sanji laughs as he’s manhandled, not used to someone as strong as Zoro holding him in his arms. Strangely, it’s the least intimidated Sanji has ever felt in the presence of the other man.
“I don’t want to wake up.” Sanji confesses, his heart fluttering as he comes to terms with what’s happening. The brute can love, the brute can be soft and gentle and hold Sanji like he’s both diamond and glass.
“You’re such a fucking sap.” Zoro groans, his cheeks pink from the words. “Just don’t say another fucking thing and kiss me already.”
Sanji laughs as he tightens his grip on Zoro’s head, pulling at the tufts of hair hard enough that Zoro lets out a hiss of pain. That the moss-head looks at him with the same eyes he uses before they fight. The electricity is there, static between them, as fiery as ever.
“Anything for the birthday boy.”
Sanji is right about his earlier prediction. Zoro doesn’t make it back to the ship before midnight. Although, it’s not for a reason he could ever have predicted.
Instead, when midnight rolls around the pair of them lie on the picnic blanket, everything else packed away. They stare at the stars as they lie side by side, Sanji’s head resting on Zoro’s arm as they hold each other.
Zoro stares at the blonde as Sanji points out constellations and tries to explain to Zoro how he can use them to not get so lost all the time. But the swordsman is not paying attention. Only one thought remains in his head now.
He has one hell of a thank you letter to write to his bounty hunter friends.

Imagine laying your head on Sanji’s chest as it rises and falls, accompanied with the fast rate of his heartbeat. You close your eyes and wrap your hands around him, pushing yourself closer to his embrace. Then, you’ve met with the most gentle hands that caress your face, his fingertips tracing your skin and forming heart signs without even noticing. His chin rests on your head whilst his other hand rests on your waist, a simple touch of his sends your body to paradise, feeling such tranquility and warmth that even if you were found in the middle of the ocean while being lost, it wouldn’t compare with the happiness you have when you’re in Sanji’s arms, especially after a tiring day for both of you.
He’s your comfort and you’re his salvation. As you’re slowly drifting off to sleep, a kiss on the forehead makes you smile.
“Precious, - he whispers, running his fingers through your hair while moving them away from your face. - my precious love.”
Imagine having a picnic with Zoro where you’re sitting on plain grass near a river. The trees are on full bloom and the sun decided to shine more than ever today. You two have found a nice shade where you’ve sat and brought out snacks you’d prepared.
The silence between you is comfortable, short glances are exchanged but both of you are too shy to keep that eye contact and actually express your feelings.
When you lay your hands back, one accidentally touches Zoro’s who immediately reacts by looking at you with widen eyes and a small blush on his face.
“Sorry.” - you apologise with an awkward smile to which he shakes his head with a reassuring smirk:
“If you wanted to hold my hand you could have just said so.”
His serious demeanour shatters when you grab his hand, placing a kiss on the palm while holding eye contact. It was quite intense for the swordsman who did not expect such boldness from you.
You’ve never seen Zoro so flustered. He tries to hide it but there’s no escaping your curious eyes that pulled him in, the ones who lure his soul and guide him towards you.
There is a soft gaze, even softer hands that approach to cup your cheek as he looks lovingly in your eyes, glancing at your lips.
Was this man stupid? He was amidst the most stunning view where the river kissed the horizon beautifully and the leaves of the trees played a serenade above you. There were hectares of colourful flowers, each special in scent and a warm breeze that brought peace. And yet amidst all this, he decides to look at you, stare at you, observe every detail that might have escaped him.
Zoro adores your pure eyes, the way you look at him like no one else, with such gentleness and love. He craves your touch, your melodic voice that whenever calls his name, it sounds like an angel guiding him home.
“Zoro…” - you call him and his heart skips a beat. His body is frozen in place as he’s cupping your cheek and it’s not helping that you’re desperately looking at his lips.
“You’re… - he manages to say, letting out a cough to clear his throat. - … so pretty…”
You widen your eyes at his statement as his hand reaches for some strands of hair that he puts behind your ear.
Surely, this man is not stupid. He’s simply in love.
Imagine Luffy finding you got hurt by the enemy. He doesn’t realise that you almost died, stayed bleeding for hours and the immense pain your body went through… he doesn’t know, until he finishes his own fight and gets back to find you in Chopper’s arms.
He’s devastated. Luffy screams and shouts with hope that you will wake up and answer him.
Chopper on the other hand keeps reassuring his captain and pushing him away so he could begin to cure you, but Luffy’s worry is too much for him to handle.
He grabs your hand and rests his forehead on it.
“Why…” - he whispers, anger building up in him. Your hand falls off his grip when Chopper takes you away. Luffy hates it when he feels like he has no control, no say when it comes to you getting hurt. He doesn’t know how to help. If it was the case that he could give his life in exchange for yours, he would, within a heartbeat.
The ship is awfully quiet, everyone waiting for updates regarding your health. However, Chopper had been with you for hours now and he hasn’t gone out his room.
Naturally, Luffy is growing impatient. His crew mates have already attempted to stop him multiple times from entering the room where you were getting treatment. Now, he doesn’t wait anymore and rushes through, opening the door only to widen his eyes at the sight.
Chopper is by your side and you’re sleeping, all bandaged and treated. Our cute doctor gives a nod to his captain, reassuring him that you’re going to be alright.
Luffy smiles and sighs in relief, approaching you slowly and Chopper gets up and closes the door after he leaves. Everyone else looks assured and finally get to relax after such stress.
Your Luffy sits on a chair near your bed, grabs your hand and kisses it while holding it between his own. His eyes are only on you as he imagines the pain you must have gotten through. Luffy clenches his teeth and curses under his breath but then, a sound from you gets his attention.
“Luffy…” - you call him in his sleep and he tightens the grip he has on your hand.
“I’m here, you don’t have to worry anymore.” - his voice calm and collected, Luffy caresses your cheek with the back of his hand and smiles.
The sun begins to set and he’s still there by your side, watching over you. During that time he refused invitations to eat or drink anything. His hand never let go of yours even when he slowly drifts to sleep. This man refuses to leave your side and no one could get him to do otherwise.
He felt some sort of guilt, and we as humans know how much of a cursed feeling that is. It eats you inside and keeps telling you that it’s your fault over and over again until you believe it and blame yourself for everything. Luffy feels surrounded by darkness that even his dreams have turned into nightmares tonight, that is up until you regain consciousness and notice him by your side, sleeping.
A gentle smile appears on your face as you pat his head, trace his face with your fingers.
“My captain, - you whisper to him. - protecting me even when I’m sleeping.”
Luffy smiles as if he heard you, his face seems more peaceful since the sun had finally come and deleted all the darkness surrounding his mind, that was you.
You were the happiness and joy of his life, pure sunlight that warmed his heart whenever you smiled at him. He was your whole sky where you found reassurance and peace. Luffy had become the man whom you trusted and loved the most, someone who loved you immensely and wasn’t afraid to show it everyday.
Your mind plays memories of you and him which give you a bashful expression on your face.
Although powerless, you manage to get up and lend a kiss on his forehead before laying down again and holding onto his hand, waiting for the morning to come where you could listen to his voice, look into his eyes and witness that smile of his that unarms you completely.

Zosopp always taking naps together.
Usopp started staying up late just to see Zoro more. It's also a good chance to talk whenever the day was too busy or slept through.
It quickly becomes a habit. And while the sniper doesn't intend on messing with his body, he just can't help it. So Zoro becomes his alarm to take a break. To finish for the night and go to sleep.
Yet, he is also his biggest temptation to slack off. Just seeing him peacefully snoring on deck after lunch is enough. But he can't just do nothing. He has to help Franky, Chopper, entertain Luffy, take care of his plants...
But he looks so, so, so, so, sooooooo comfyyy. Just a few minutes with him. 5 should be enough. Well, okay, maybe 10. A small tiny nap wouldn't hurt?
Zoro feels comfortable sleeping next to Usopp and Usopp feels safe sleeping next to Zoro.
But Nami has other plans. No nap for them. For now...
Ah this is so cute I love it so much just the idea of Usopp using Zoro’s nap as a sign to take a break but also an excuse to slack off… the duality of a man. Just Zoro waking up and finding Usopp using him as a pillow. Normally he’d just push him off and go about his day but Usopp just looks so cute and peaceful he just can’t so he’s just stuck there…
With nothing else to do Zoro just sort of absentmindedly starts petting and playing with Usopp’s hair and Usopp starts nuzzling closer because he’s sooo comfortable and this is so nice.
Zoro starts to get sleepy because sleeping with someone else and feeling their warmth is a lot nicer than he imagined…
That’s of course when Usopp wakes and gets embarrassed as soon as he realizes how this looks and he starts flailing and apologizing profusely. Seeing Usopp so flustered flusters Zoro too and now he is embarrassed and the only way he knows to shut it all down is to just. pull Usopp into chest and smother all his loudness and say something like don’t make this weird. It’s not weird unless you make it weird and Usopp quiets and says something like okay but I would appreciate it if you didn’t try to suffocate me in your big ass tits next time and then apologizes immediately when Zoro actually tries to do it lmao. And that’s how they start sleeping together.
#asks#zosopp#hcs asks#The last line is so ominous it made me laugh. Like no one gets to slack off when she’s not slacking lol

Final Flight
(This brainrot won’t leave me alone, so have some MiShanks angst.)
(CW: Major characters death)
Imagine the final war erupting - the Strawhats, their fleet, the Revolutionary Army, and all their allies rallying against the Marines, Blackbeard, World Government, and Celestial Dragons. It’s total pandemonium and casualties rack up on both sides with no sign of stopping. The two forces are evenly matched in strength and forces, and the standstill is taking its toll on them. Something has to break the draw.
Then, somebody lands a fatal blow on Dracule Mihawk.
It feels like time has stopped. Everyone, both allies and enemies that were fighting near the former World’s Greatest Swordsman, are slack-jawed. Mihawk’s eyes are wide, as if he himself can’t believe that he’s been harmed. He staggers, tries to stay on his feet, but blood spurts from the large cut across his chest, and he falls to the ground.
He doesn’t get back up.
The Alliance is outraged. Although Mihawk was infamous, he was theirs. He was fighting for their side. The rage and disbelief ripples through their alliance, from the former Warlords whose acquaintance was just slain by the people they used to work for, to the members of Cross Guild who just watched one of their commanders fall in battle, to a trembling Buggy and an enraged Crocodile who just lost their third, to a disbelieving Zoro who was mentored and entrusted with the title of World’s Greatest Swordsman.
But none of that compares to Shanks’ reaction.
Shanks who’s been fighting a tireless fight for days on end, Shanks who just watched numerous, comrades get hurt and die around him, Shanks who just watched the love of his life go down in a spray of blood.
His Haki ripples throughout the entire battlefield. The sky splits open, and the seas shake with the force of his will. Enemy forces go down like a domino chain, enough to turn the tide of the battle, enough for their alliance to catch their second wind and continue fighting again.
But all Shanks can focus on is Mihawk.
Shanks rushes through the battlefield, through smoke and blades and gunfire and Devil Fruit powers. His crew surrounds him and fends off anyone who tries to get in Shanks’ way. His eyes are trained on Mihawk’s body on the ground, on his still, unmoving chest, until Shanks is finally up close.
The blow has nearly split Mihawk apart. The pool of blood around him stains Shanks’ pants as he drops to his knees.
Golden eyes look up at him, and even through the pain, they crinkle with fondness at the sight of Shanks. Those eyes that used to be bright with life and love now look up Shanks with a haze over them. It’s obvious Mihawk is struggling to keep them open.
Shanks calls for doctors, for anyone - Hongo, Chopper, Trafalgar, Phoenix - but their medical outpost is miles away, and they're in the thick of the battle. No one can come to help them and they don't have much time.
Then, comes the pleading.
“Please, you need to stay with me. I can’t do this without you.”
What’s the use of Shanks’ dream of peace if Mihawk can’t be there to see it? Who else is Shanks doing this for, if not for his love, who just wanted a quiet life?
Mihawk’s lips are stained with his blood. A man of few words and even in death he has nothing to say. But Shanks has known and loved him for a long time now. Mihawk looks up at him with a defeated look in his eyes, his hand wrapped around Shanks as tight as he can manage. Shanks sees Mihawk’s mouth move and without even hearing the words he knows what Mihawk is trying to say.
Dracule Mihawk takes his last breath in Shanks' arm.
Nothing can prepare Shanks for the heartache that followed. He thought he’d know better by now, that after Roger and Uta, the pain would be easier to handle. It isn’t. It feels like his heart’s been taken out of his chest and crushed underfoot, it feels like watching Roger on the execution stand and listening to Uta’s swan song all over again.
You are never prepared for this kind of loss.
Shanks' grief enchoes throughout the battlefield. His Haki trembles with his cries, the entire world shakes with the force of his will, but Mihawk stays still an unmoving in his arms.
(For added angst: Imagine Film Red took place only a few months before the Final War. Imagine Shanks losing his daughter and lover only within months of each other.)

Hi! How are you doing?
Can i request B, M, Q with Sanji, Nami and Zoro?
if possible gn reader please!
I'm great, thanks for asking!! And thank you so much for being my first request!! ^^ (so sorry this took so long, i honestly forgot this account existed T_T)
(B) Boo! – How do they feel about surprises, giving and receiving?
Sanji loves buying gifts for his partner and planning surprises for them, so they receive them often. From the smallest of things to the most extravagant of things, if something makes him think of his beloved then it's theirs no matter the price. Of course it's not just about buying them things, their reaction to his gifts make him fall in love with them all over again. It's also his way of showing he was thinking of them. The same with surprises, whether it be their favorite food, prepping them a warm drink on a chilly morning, flowers on their bedside table, Sanji does it all. It's little reminders throughout their day how much he cares for them.
But Sanji receiving gifts and surprises is a whole other story. He's very rarely, if ever, been on the receiving end of them so it's no surprise he's a bit stumped and emotional. His partner gives him a coat when it's cold out? One of those key-chains with his initial on it? Hell, a cool looking shell they found on the beach? Not only has he fallen unbelievably more in love with them, but he's also... touched in a way no one else has made him feel. His Y/N gave him a gift, his Y/N was thinking about him. Now usually he's go off swooning as usual, but this was... different.
Arriving back to the Going Merry, Sanji was relieved to see no sign of his crew members. Finally, he could start dinner preparations in peace and quiet. Right as he sat down the food he bought earlier, a pang of annoyance hits him as the kitchen door opens with a squeak. He turns around and before he could tell whoever it was to go away, the annoyance quickly melts away and is replaced with adoration as his eyes land on his beloved. "Oh, Sanji! I didn't think anyone else was back yet." They say, allowing Sanji to take the bags from their hands once he snapped out of his daze. "Here, let me get those for you my love." His partner smiles lightly at his chivalry, watching as he takes the bags and set them down with the utmost care on the dining room table. "Oh wait, I almost forgot! I have something for you." Sanji does a bit of a double take as he watches his partner dig through the bags. Something for him..? Did he hear them right? He's pulled from his thought by his lover standing in front of him with a smile, holding a small, wrapped package in their hands. He stares at the packing, blinking in confusion for a moment before taking it with a gulp. Sanji pulls away the tape and paper with gentle hands and the utmost care, not wanting to rip a single corner of the wrapping paper his beloved had taken the precious time to wrap. His hands were unusually sweaty, heart thumping in his chest. Sanji's thoughts whirled so quickly in his brain he was barely able to process anything besides the box in his hands and his lover in front of him. His partner stood patiently, allowing Sanji to take his time to open the gift which was a simple act of affection from their part, but meant the absolute world and more to Sanji. After what felt like a millennium, the box was finally opened and inside lay a golden chain with a small, golden pendant of his lovers initial. "I know it's impractical for fighting, you don't have to wear it. With all of the gifts you give me I thought it would be nice t-" Their rambling is cut short by Sanji suddenly enveloping them in a tight hug, his chest felt tight with emotion. "I'll wear it till the day I die, mon coeur."
(Q) Quiet – How are the calm, quiet moments with them?
Quiet moments with Sanji. Gosh, to say they're perfect would be an understatement. The crew is... loud. Everyone knows it. So the only time Sanji and his partner have quiet time is at night, or when docked on an island where the two of them can either stay behind on the ship or explore the island together. Whichever you choose, Sanji would be by his lovers side the entire time with his full undivided attention. If they're exploring an island together, they're the only person in the world that he's focused on and if anyone dares break that focus they're met with the nastiest glare known to man. (think the ones he gives Zoro.) But some of his favorite quiet moments (that he'd never admit) are nights where he has watch duty and his partner insists on joining him, despite arguing that it's too cold out or they need their beauty sleep. They'd give him the excuse that they couldn't sleep or thought he needed a blanket, which is just another excuse to cuddle close to him in said blanket. (like they would ever need an excuse for that) His partner would sit between his legs, curled up against his chest with the blanket keeping the both of them nice and cozy and Sanji would listen to whatever sleepy nonsense comes from their lips before drifting off to sleep. Sanji's heart swells as he's the happiest guy in the whole world, looking up at the stars and holding his lover securely... God help any marine or pirate ship that interrupts this moment.
(M) Melt – What do you do that absolutely makes them melt?
Unlike Sanji, Zoro isn't one to have those melty-swoony moments, at least not to that capacity. There's certainly times where he finds himself in his head about them, watching them do whatever it is they're doing or thinking about little things they do while he trains. They're almost always on his mind. Speaking of training, one thing his partner does that makes him somewhat melt is when he catches them training. Knowing that his partner can take care of themselves when need-be adds an extra layer of comfort and security in Zoro's mind, which is why their relationship flows so smoothly. He cant help the little smirk that tugs at his lips when his eyes find them in the midst of fighting whatever problem they found themselves in, or whenever he catches them training. Don't be surprised if he asks to join them, knowing full well that training together leads to sparring, and sparring leads to... well, let's leave that up to the imagination.
(Q) Quiet – How are the calm, quiet moments with them?
Quiet moments are actually quite common with Zoro, as spoken words isn't the swordsmans strong suit when it comes to love languages. The first time his partner accidentally walked in on him while he was meditating, rather early on in the relationship, they felt awkward about interrupting him. While trying to quietly trying to exit the room, without opening an eye he'll tell them "Don't just stand there, get over here and sit down already." He especially loves when his partner joins him in his naps. Whether it be to nap with him or read a book while he sleeps their company is always welcome. He'll wrap an arm around them and pull them close, then go right back to snoring away with them securely in his arms. He may me a man of few words, but they'll damn know they're always welcomed and wanted.

The Beast of the Heart
Summary: Sanji doesn't get jealous. Or, that's what he says anyway. Don't EVER let him see another man flirt with Zoro. Pairing: Zosan Warnings: Jealousy, near possessive behavior, suggestive at the end. Nothing explicit, more just references Word count: 825
Sanji trusted Zoro. He truly did, it was a simple, indisputable fact.
Or, it was an indisputable fact around women, at the very least. He trusted Zoro fully when any woman came around to attempt, keyword, to seduce the swordsman, no matter how pretty. This was his lover here. A darling bumbling fool who was utterly loyal to a simple fault when it came to those he cared for. So that was why Sanji was fine to stand at the sidelines when a lady would sidle up to the man, content to watch Zoro let her down easy in the endearingly blunt, brutish way of his and only step in if she refused to take the hint.
And that would be all fine and dandy for the cook! Things would be wonderfully smooth and stress-free if that were the case.
It wasn’t. Don’t get Sanji started on when other men flirted with his darling mossball.
Again, it wasn’t that he didn’t trust Zoro, far from it! His darling idiot would first slit his own throat before going behind him. But that still didn’t calm the beast in his heart. Of course, he liked to think he went about things in a rather civil manner. But he knew better still. He knew much, much better when that monster snarled, snapped, thrashed at the mere idea of some other man sidling up to Zoro with a pretty smile and darling bat of his eyelashes. His blood boiled and his teeth ground sharply together at the thought of foreign fingers gliding along a toned bicep.
Like now.
Sanji had turned his head back towards where he knew Zoro would be lagging, having been put on pack mule duty once more, only to feel something dark within him twist at the sight he was greeted with. Zoro had been stopped by a man that reminded Sanji very unpleasantly of himself, pretty and lithe, a pretty smile across his delicate features that made no attempt of hiding his intentions.
He was already pissed, but he nearly sheered through the cigarette in his mouth when his jaw tensed when he saw a hand come to rest at Zoro’s elbow. That beast Sanji had long made his peace with seemed to fill his chest, anger and jealousy trickling through his veins like a dark venom.
He was in motion far before Zoro had the chance to move.
Only a handful of sharp strides easily brought Sanji to Zoro’s shoulder, a hand sharply smacking away the offender’s away. “I would appreciate it if you kept your hands off of my boyfriend, he said in an overly sickly sweet tone, not missing the steadying hand at the small of his back. It wasn’t over the swordsman's head how Sanji got. Far, far from it.
The look of disdain written clearly over the man’s face had the monster behind his heart trilling, Snaji smiling right back. “I apologize,” the stranger said stiffly, the two of them have a silent standoff. They both knew their merit, the best way to describe it being as a show of dominance between them.
And as always, Sanji’s opponent folded first, hs beast purring as the other turned, proverbial tail tucked as he stalked away. Victory trilled through Sanji, the blond soaking it up. His smugness was tangible, unsurprised when Zoro wrapped his arms around him from behind, nuzzling into his neck.
“You know I don’t like it when you lag behind, sweetheart ,” Sanji hummed, smirking as the arms tightened around his waist. Zoro was well versed in the signs of the cook’s rampant jealousy, sweetened pet names being a wonderful tell. And Sanji just loved to abuse the use of them, knowing his tendency to get protective of his stop as Zoro’s boyfriend got the swordsman going like nothing else.
“Mhm…”
“People… men see you alone. What do you think goes through their minds, darling ? They’re animals, the lot of them. How am I going to make sure they know who you belong to?” Sanji hummed, letting his fingers card through the short, mossy hair of his lover and reveling in the way Zoro nuzzled closer to his neck.
“Tryna say I can’t hold my own, Curly?” Zoro mumbled and Sanji chuckled.
“Oh no, I know you can more than hold your own, but… I don’t like others trying to encroach on what’s mine when I’m not around to mitigate it,” Sanji replied with a soft hmph , the beast growling its agreement.
“Then maybe you should leave claim,” Zoro murmured back, a hand sliding up Sanji’s stomach.
“Awe, Mossy~ We’re in public, an exhibitionist now, are we?” the cook teased, chuckling when Zoro growled softly at him. “Alright, alright. Back to the ship, hm? I think we have enough for today.”
That was all Zoro needed to hear. It wasn’t long before Sanji was dragging him back to the ship, the beast within nestled deep and content once more.

Water 7 Arc: Luffy and Usopp (Manga and Anime Comparison) [Part 2]
Spoiler alert: Don't keep reading if you haven't reached Water 7 Arc (Manga Chapter 333 or Anime Episode 236)
This is the 2nd Part of a previous post. You can read Part 1 here.
Please let me know your opinion about it or if you wish to add anything ^^ (and remember to have mercy on my English xD)
Somehow this second part is even worse than the first :)
(Manga reads from right to left, but the Anime screenshots are organized to read from left to right ^^U)
I will continue right where i left off:
7th Page:
Nami is shocked by Luffy's bluntness, even if he is right (Usopp is not a shipwright, that is a fact), but immediately is surprised by Usopp still fighting back.
Usopp is blindly insisting on the lack of professional morals and capabilities of Galley-La Company. He is not being logical.
He starts disrespecting Luffy, insulting his intelligence and instinct, and even his position as Captain.
Obviously all words of someone very affected by the heat of the moment... and his own insecurities.
In the Anime:
The scene is long and drags out, making it less obvious that everything that Usopp says is because of the heat of the moment.
We see Luffy's face with a judgingly expression, for some reason, but we don't get Zoro observing silently.
Why are they showing expressions that are not shown by the author, but not showing the ones that he specifically decides to show?
Also, Usopp kneeling on the floor for such a long time while everyone else is standing and just looking... it makes it way more awkward. He is not supposed to be just kneeling: he is angrily getting up on his feet.
Usopp does not look like being bullied in the Manga.
8th Page:
You wanted to see an angry Luffy? Here it is. Now he is angry. Not before.
Usopp has disrespected him as a Captain, in a way that should never be done.
Nami tries desperately to make Usopp understand Luffy's perspective and the pain he went through, believing it's still just a misunderstanding... but they are past that point.
Usopp, like everyone else on a ship, has to respect the Captain's decision. Even without understanding their reasons, even without totally agreeing with them... he has to respect them. That's how it works.
The Captain is the one who has to carry the weight of making the tough decisions. The Captain is the rock where everyone can lie on. The one that gives the sense of security and peace. And in the same way he has to carry all the responsibility, he has to be respected.
Of course a crewmember can argue or show doubts about certain decisions... but only if allowed, and up to a certain point. And that point depends on the Captain's personality. When a Captain has stated over and over their decision (without need, because just once should be enough), a crewmember has to accept it. One should never reach this point, where violence and even mutiny is shown... if you want to stay on their ship.
Luffy is a very approachable, friendly and kind Captain, who doesn't want the others to feel like they are below him and lets everyone help with decisions... but that doesn't mean his role changes or shouldn't be respected.
Usopp is misinterpreting his position in the crew, thinking they are at the same level in authority... but not in responsibility.
Luffy is not sitting on the table anymore, and is now standing on the floor again. This is also a sign of him getting angry, because he goes back to the "fighting ground".
We can see Sanji is still trying to calm them down, stressed that this is spiraling out of control. He is even extending his arms and probably physically separating them, not just talking.
In the Anime:
Luffy looks more stressed and "backing down" than angry, and like he is being manhandled around... when in reality Usopp wouldn't be able to move him like that. The movement lines in the Manga implied that he was receiving Usopp's force but not budging to it.
Of course Sanji's try to stop them is... not there. Like all the previous ones. Anime-Sanji has done nothing at all to stop this fight yet, a really out of character behavior.
9th Page:
Usopp has stepped back and is not holding Luffy by the neck anymore. He even lowers his tone for a moment, probably because of Sanji's words or that he physically separated them.
But he is still angry, and says he could never abandon an injured comrade. This being said while he is injured himself, shows his fears of being abandoned by the rest of the crew because of his poor state.
Luffy (who doesn't make the connection with Usopp comparing himself to the Merry) calls it nonsense to compare what one does to a ship and a person.
Usopp insists on Merry having the will to keep on living (again, projecting on her), and then he says to Luffy one of the nastiest thing you can say to someone: that he doesn't really care about someone they love. That he are already thinking about getting rid of Merry and advancing without her.
Luffy, who is all about loving and caring, absolutely loses it. He violently jumps on Usopp and screams angrily at him because he is being egoist and disrespectful with him and everyone else in the crew. Everyone loves Merry, and implying that he is the only one who cares about her is very mean and egoist.
Of course, grief is a complicated thing. Usopp is hurt and is being hurtful to others, his mind desperately trying to protect itself... Not the way to do it, but he is a 17 year old dealing with a lot of horrible feelings.
But that his feelings are understandable doesn't give him the right to do what he is doing. As a reader, one has to understand that what he is doing is wrong.
Nami is surprised at Luffy's reaction, not expecting he would lose his calm in that way.
Everything is fast: Luffy is very angry and starts screaming at Usopp that if he doesn't approve of the way he is managing the situation, Usopp is free to leave his crew... (a thing he obviously doesn't want to say, it's just the heat of the moment)
In the Anime:
Sanji never did anything to separate them before, so Usopp is still grabbing Luffy by the neck... So they made Luffy push him away from him in a very nasty way, nearly throwing Usopp to the floor.
Now that they are already separated, Sanji decides to try to intervene. Thank you, Anime-Sanji, very useful.
He even talks in a tone that implies this is a little fight between friends, and not a serious problem. Meanwhile Manga-Sanji has been stressed and worried since the first second.
The only thing his intervention does here is diluting the real hurtful comments Usopp makes, the ones that makes Luffy lose it...
Luffy weirdly throws Usopp on the ground, even slowly. And even sits on him?
Sanji looks more annoyed and bothered than really stressed or worried.
Nami screams at Luffy angrily. (I will never understand why Nami is always so angry in the Anime, all the time)
And the scene draaags for a while. It's doesn't look like Luffy is blurting things out of rage anymore.
10th Page:
There is what I believe is a very big misconception around this scene: some people believe Sanji is kicking Luffy for Usopp's sake, when I believe Sanji is doing it for Luffy's sake.
In the Manga it's pretty clear to me:
Sanji has been trying to stop them from escalating the situation since the very beginning: trying to calm Luffy's temper, understanding the pain he is going through, and scolding Usopp for being disrespectful.
But now Luffy has completely lost his temper, getting violent and about to say something in the heat of the moment that he will obviously regret and will hurt him forever if Usopp leaves because of it. The one who would be hurt the most by the words Luffy is about to say is not Usopp, it's Luffy. And Sanji knows it.
It's not a thing that can be stopped with words or holding him anymore. He has to act fast to avoid it.
So Sanji desperately kicks Luffy (while calling him an idiot), forgetting to even be careful about Nami's wellbeing, stopping him from finishing the sentence.
The fact that he doesn't even check on Nami before or after kicking Luffy, even after she screams, shows that he is worrying more about someone else right now...
He also looks very stressed, with all the sweat drops, with what he had to do to stop the situation.
And also his words: he is telling Luffy to control himself or he will say things he will regret. Not that he will hurt someone else, only that he will hurt himself with regret.
But this is not a surprise for a Manga reader. Sanji is always caring about Luffy's wellbeing, be it in the focus of attention or in the background of panels.
Luffy immediately understands what Sanji is doing for him, and apologizes... but Usopp's low self esteem has now what he thinks is a confirmation of his fears, and he proceeds to auto-sabotage.
Now the Anime:
Now we arrive to other one of the worst parts of the "adaptation"
Sanji kicks Luffy...
We get Chopper's reaction, but not Nami's... why?
Because Sanji didn't really kick in her direction! So in this adaptation we completely lose a thing that Oda specifically showed: Manga-Sanji was desperate enough to stop Luffy from harming himself to forget about Nami!
And then he starts insulting Luffy afterwards. For a while. Berating him and just being mean.
The way Sanji talks to Luffy in the Anime is not only disrespectful, but very violent. He is practically daring him to say what he was going to say.
That is not the Sanji the Manga-readers know and love. Manga-Sanji was nearly pleading for him to cool down.
Anime-Sanji looks at Luffy with even hate. That is not the expression Manga-Sanji was having... at all. How this has been adapted in this horrible way is beyond my comprehension.
Of course, in the Anime it looks like he is on Usopp's side.
And we proceed to show how the others are reacting to this slooow paced interaction. Of course, this is completely invented by what the Anime thought was appropriate (so: very weird reactions)
Luffy slowly getting up and apologizing, putting his hat on.
And the Anime decides to show Usopp smiling, like his plan had finally come into fruition.
Usopp is not smiling in the Manga. There is no reason for him to smile. This wasn't a master plan. Very weird to show him smiling.
11th Page:
Usopp keeps saying hurtful and false things to Luffy, meanwhile Luffy is putting his hat and covering his eyes to not look at him, not wanting to fight anymore.
We see Sanji and Nami back on Luffy's side, with Sanji even positioning himself in the middle of the fight in a protecting manner and calling Usopp out (again).
Usopp is finally recognizing the real problem out loud: he doesn't feel he can keep up with the others and feels useless.
He feels he doesn't deserve being there with them, and that they're too much for him.
We see the others reactions: Luffy confused not knowing what to say, Chopper doesn't understand why Usopp feels that way, Nami is finally getting the full picture, Zoro is not liking what he is hearing...
The last panel's composition is full of meaning: all the others are around Luffy, with him, while facing Usopp. Meanwhile Usopp is standing and facing them but from afar, distancing himself from them.
No one but him is in a defensive position anymore.
In the Anime:
We get Usopp and Luffy looking at each other with hate again. Marvelous.
No one is near Luffy. Sanji and Nami haven't moved closer to Luffy, and the others have moved closer to Usopp...? So, the opposite of the Manga.
Luffy's expression is not correct, in the Anime he looks angry again, not confused.
Zoro is listening with his eyes closed, for some reason... I'm starting to believe Anime-Zoro has been sleeping for a while or something.
Sanji's expression is invented.
And I repeat: no one got close to Luffy, so its effect it the complete opposite of the Manga.
The Anime shows a separation between the whole crew and Luffy, while the Manga emphasizes the opposite.
We also see Luffy's back in the Anime, while in the Manga is Usopp's...
All the physical language the Manga made is thrown down the drain in the adaptation.
The Anime wants you to believe the rest of the crew doesn't approve of the things Luffy has done, and that is just not true.
12th Page:
Usopp talks about how he never really was moved to join Luffy for a great cause like the rest: he was just a friend who tagged along. He himself says he has no other ties and that he can sever them anytime he doesn't agree with Luffy's decisions.
He is looking for excuses to make his departure easier.
(That is one of the main points Zoro is going to take into account in the future: Usopp will have to ask for forgiveness and show real loyalty to the crew, because if he keeps on going like this, he is a ticking bomb of mutiny)
Luffy is back to his usual serious expression when he is listening to someone.
Usopp leaves the room and everyone follows.
Then, once everyone is outside, he announces he is leaving the crew, surprising everyone.
In the Anime:
Usopp's expression has nothing to do with the one in the Manga. He is still angry in the Anime.
Luffy and Zoro's expressions are also exaggerated.
You may notice Usopp is saying he is leaving the crew while still in the room...
Well, buckle up, because we are getting close to a hot mess of the Anime.
13th Page:
As we saw in the previous page, they are all outside looking at him. They followed Usopp immediately.
Nami, Sanji and Chopper scream at Usopp to come back, while Zoro and Luffy look in silent.
They scream in different ways: Sanji has the same expression he had when he had to kick Luffy to stop him. Nami is still believing this problem can be fixed. Choppper is crying, still confused with the whole problem.
Usopp is now saying things about himself Luffy doesn't agree with, but he has chosen to not speak anymore, probably to not make the situation worse.
Usopp then asks for a duel.
In the Anime:
We start right with filler!
We get a weird slow motion, with Nami Chopper and Sanji's horrified expressions looking at Usopp close the door.
Let's remember Sanji's expression is supposed to be the same as after he kicked Luffy in the head. Interesting how now it is a distressed expression, and not a hateful one.
Also... guys, open the door and go after him already. It's just a door.
But no, now Nami turns around looks at Luffy with anger and starts confronting him.
Also Zoro looks at Luffy with a very severe expression.
Where does this come from? When has the Manga shown that these two would look at Luffy like that in this situation?
The Anime is making them look against Luffy, contradicting the source material.
The Anime makes Nami keep on going with the critiques, doubting Luffy as a Captain, dumping on him all the responsibility of Usopp's decision and making it look like she believes everything is Luffy's fault.
Manga-Nami would never do that. Even if afterwards she goes and talks to Luffy about solving things with Usopp, she would never treat Luffy like this, using his Captain position this cruelly... in the Manga, that is.
Everyone is just there, looking at Luffy, until he angrily looks back at her.
Up until now, everything is just filler of the Anime. From the very beginning of the adaptation of Page 13. The amount of awful and out of character filler the Anime does with this scene is astronomical.
Now we start going back to something closer to the real content of the Page 13:
They finally go outside and call him to come back.
Again, Sanji's expression is much nicer than the one shown to Luffy, and he is also at the front. In the Manga, he is in the back.
Luffy's expression is all wrong, again. He also comes out one of the lasts, when in the Manga that is not really the case.
Sanji and Chopper have also all gone from very intense expressions to neutral.
Finally, 14th Page:
The chapter reaches its painful ending, with Usopp doubling down on the duel idea.
In the Anime:
This is very close to being a 1:1 adaptation, if we take out Nami's reaction and everyone's positions and....... xDu
After this, the Anime Episode continues adapting scenes from the next Manga Chapter, but i don't have the energy or space to keep the analysis on this post xD
I hope you understand why i think the changes on this scene are so important in how different a Manga-reader and an Anime-watcher feel it. How different the characters are in one and the other.
And all the changes we just saw were completely unnecessary to do, and not approved by Oda... so... very very bad in my opinion.
And if they do all these changes with a scene so important like this one, what does that mean for the rest of the adaptation?
Well... you can imagine. Sometimes it feels like the only thing the Anime has in common with the Manga is the name ^^U
If you want a comparison of other scenes, you can make suggestions ^^

dearest shnookums,
(currently kinda sick so if i yap, apologies). you actually have this theorist at a blank. like you know when ussop and daddy(?) have the shoot-off challenge battle thing at louge town? that's us.
anyways. been reading through the asks and that one with rika? adorable. AND please if mr. blue gambling smurf shows up im gonna freak out. LOVE LOVE LOVE the interactions with sniperking and ed. ed you lying liar emotional genius. btw have you seen that scene from ouran host club where tamaki is growing mushrooms in the corner? you should make a gag about zoro growing them on his head if he naps too much or smth. I CANT WAIT FOR BROOK. the possibilities are endless. megan the stallion brook version? sign me up. btw i think the rumbar pirates did sail with roger for a little bit, so wouldn't this mean uncle Has D. Answer might've given brook some song recs?
(last paragrapg i promise) but if you do write the movies, would film red (uta i think) have ed do a kpop dance battle against uta? (dunno if you like kpop or the dances but i think it would be a funny gag).
Peace, pookie wookie
Dearest apple of my eye,
Please let this not be a thing. Please.
The real question is which one of us is Usopp and which is Daddy the Father. (I’m willing to fight you to be Daddy. You being sick won’t stop me)
GAMBLING SMURF-
The mushroom thing is so real. Megan thee Stallion Brook is so real.
I don’t think the Rumbar Pirates met Roger? I think Brook had just heard of him in passing when he first set out. Brook had already died like 30 years before Roger did. Oh God that means Brook has only ever heard of the stupid shit he did in his early 20’s that’s so much funnier-
I don’t know shit about kpop but they could relentlessly default dance at each other for hours.
Get well soon pookie wookie

Hello hello! To one more request if that's okay! What about Zoro, Ace and Barto reacting to their hard working (to the point of overworking) s/o asking to have some cuddles to recharge? Can be directly asking or s/o being a bit too shy with their feelings so they have non verbal ways of expressing that need
hehe, of course! fluff is always welcome here <33 you're personally trying to fill up my masterlist for these three aren't you though, anon > >
S/O asking for recharge cuddles (Zoro, Ace, Bartolomeo)
gn reader, fluff and dense boys under the cut word count: 1k
Zoro
He's a bit stupid so you'll have to forgive the density - with Zoro it's best to be up front about your wants/needs from the start otherwise you'll have a hard time getting stuff across to him
Zoro doesn't exactly do 'subtle'
He's attentive and looks out for you, of course, watching you work hard to support your nakama and captain on this crew to maybe il-advised extents, but if you don't say anything then Zoro just assumes that you can handle it on your own
If you're too shy to be forthright with him verbally, it might take a kick in the head from your resident cook or Nami breathing down his neck for an "oblivious tax" for Zoro to actually get the idea
Over time he picks up on your signals a lot easier, pulling you away from group activities with a curt, "hey" to go relax in the crow's nest with him or just put his arms around your waist while you're within the company of everyone else, chin comfortably on your head
Zoro isn't shy about showing affection, far from it, the marimo just has a little trouble with reading signs if you don't outright tell him that you need to steal him away for an afternoon cuddle session
If it's any consolation though, once the two of you establish that "recharge cuddles" are a thing, Zoro will simply grab you by the hip and haul you off to whatever shade he's decided is adequate for his nap and cuddle whenever he feels like it; his big, strong arms are like a vice and there's no way of getting out without a fight
Whether this ends up being a blessing or a curse is up to you
Ace
Ace is on you before you even recognize what's wrong
He sees the change in your behavior, how much effort you've been putting in lately between training and interacting with the crew, and while he's definitely proud of you; Ace wants to make sure you're putting your comfort forward too
At first he's unsure about what to do so he asks his peers (with varying degrees of success) for advice, but once he picks up on your tells, you won't be able to pry the man off you
It starts off little things like brushing his fingers to yours to let you know he's here, resting his hand against your lower back, burying his face into the crook of your neck, etc
But soon enough he's quite literally sweeping you off your feet and partially grand gestures of affection through tackle hugs, surprise kisses, and love declarations that get him booed off the Moby Dick's deck
If you're not comfortable with something that public (and frankly a little embarrassing), Ace is more than content to pull you aside to a quiet corner of the ship where the two of you can just bask in each other's presences
He tends to be chatty, telling you about things like his day or how Thatch keeps complaining that he'll singlehandedly eat them out of house and home, but sometimes Ace just wants to lay with you in silence
He'll take in the scent of your hair and play with your shirt's hem, so utterly and wonderfully in love with you and the moment of peace the two of you have found together
These little pockets alone together hardly last that long on a ship as rowdy and busy as White Beard's (though the situation wouldn't be too different on Ace's original crew either) so you cherish what little of it the two of you can manage
It's usually at night, when everyone's long since gone to bed or drank themselves under the table, where Ace crawls into your bed and you just talk about everything and nothing with him, giggling about sweet nonsense until someone throws something at him to shut you up and another brawl inevitably breaks out
Bartolomeo
Another man whose density can rival that of a black hole, unfortunately
Bartolomeo is very much a "don't sweat the details" kind of guy, it's how he's always carried himself and most likely will continue to for the long, foreseeable future
If he doesn't notice something off at first glance, he probably won't until someone explicitly points out out to him
He's happy to see you putting in your all to be on his crew, especially as his partner!! God, he's such a lucky guy! It goes over his head a little that you might be losing your charge from this though, feel free to whack your captain for it
You might hang around closer to him, sigh or grumble more, or even cross your arms and pout, but poor Bartolomeo won't get the idea without any explicit direction
Once you do cough up the admission of needing his comfort, he's sobbing and rolling over three ways from Sunday in his desperate pleas of apology
He's handsy when you cuddle, less of the fact that Barto might have ulterior motives and more so that he just can't sit still for very long
Bartolomeo tries to have a nice, tender moment with you, but his heart and mind are going 100mph about how much he loves you, what he can do next to impress you, what wild adventures the Strawhats were possibly getting up to, if he could get a picture with them and you the next time god willed an interaction between crews, and probably what he'd like for dinner
His leg will bounce and he'll constantly shift around, trying out different positions in an attempt to get comfortable but eventually he'll have to get up again to move; honestly you'd have more luck on his back while he milled about the ship than trying to nail your captain to one set location
Barto's best suited for bursts of affection sprinkled throughout the day in short intervals rather than a long sit-down, but if that's something you're okay with then he'd be more than grateful and you damn well know he'd show it too

no clue if youre still taking requests but if you are then 55 for sanji please?
HEARTBREAKING PROMPTS
55. “How could I be so blind?”
ao3 // ko-fi
x
Sanji is kind of an insane person when it comes to food and all things tangentially related, so he’s the first to notice when Luffy gets up in the middle of dinner.
First, but not only, because they’re all kind of insane when it comes to each other. It takes like ten seconds for Usopp to realize his partner-in-crime is no longer beside him. By then, Zoro is already looking at the galley door.
“What is he up to?” Nami asks suspiciously. She has very little faith in their captain’s good sense, and honestly it serves her well.
“I’ll go see!” Chopper says, preparing to hop down from his seat, but his half-finished plate makes Sanji twitchy.
Waving the little doctor back down, Sanji pushes himself to his feet instead. “I wanted a smoke anyway,” he says. “You guys finish up. There’s blueberry-lemon icebox cake in the fridge.”
His friends receive this announcement in their usual self-contained, gracious manner—they start hooting and shouting and shoveling their dinner down faster to get to dessert. It makes him smile, ducking his head a bit as he steps around the table.
He’s always taken good care when he feeds them. It’s a point of pride; serving up the absolute best of his abilities on every occasion, whether it’s brunch or a midday snack or a platter of sandwiches and coffee for whoever’s on the night watch. He puts his all into each egg whisked, each vegetable sliced. That’s how his father taught him.
Since Totto Land, it’s less about his pride and more about the privilege. He is so goddamn lucky to be here. To have a place at the table. Cooking for his friends is something he’ll never take for granted again.
He lights a cigarette once he’s outside and glances around for some sign of his captain—like an obvious trail of destruction, or a small fire.
All is quiet on deck, though. Peaceful, even, with the majority of his rowdy family tucked away in the galley, their raised voices and raucous laughter muffled behind the heavy door. Even the heave of the ocean beneath him seems gentle, since Sunny is steady down to her bones.
“I don’t trust this for a fucking second,” he mutters, and goes hunting.
Luffy isn’t at his usual haunt—the forecastle, where he likes to sit on the figurehead and give Chopper palpitations every time a particularly rough wave nearly tips him into the sea—and he’s not in the men’s quarters, either. Sanji grumbles when he hauls himself up to the observation room to find it empty, too.
But it’s from there, sitting on the top yard of the foremast and chainsmoking angrily, that Sanji spots him.
His ire drifts away like a plume of smoke, leaving barely any indication it was ever there at all.
Sanji doesn’t hesitate to make his way back down the rigging, dropping the last couple yards and landing with a muffled thump on the grassy deck. He heads back towards the kitchen, but up the stairs instead of through the galley door, to the upper deck that wraps around the main mast. It’s where Robin tends to a flower bed, and Usopp maintains his garden of pop greens, and it’s also where Nami’s tangerine trees live.
There’s a little receptacle by the rail for Sanji to dispose of his cigarette in, and he does. Then he settles beneath one of the trees, right in the dirt. He leans back against the thin, sturdy trunk, letting the bark catch in his hair.
Luffy, sitting with his knees tucked against his chest, tilts his face to look at him without really lifting his head. Neither of them speak right away.
The twilight sky is a deep, vivid blue. The lanterns on the harbor look like fireflies from a distance. The kitchen chimney behind them is pouring warmth and food smells into the air, and the chatter of their family just beneath them is indistinguishable but utterly familiar.
“You know I’m a little pathological about everyone finishing their food, right?” Sanji says after a moment.
“If that word means super weird and cool, then yeah, I knew that,” Luffy mutters, slightly petulant the way he always is at any imagined slight against his crew, even when coming from his crew, even when he’s clearly upset about something else.
“Not quite,” Sanji says, smiling despite himself. “But I know you know. That’s why I’m out here annoying you.”
“Sanji only annoys me when he locks the fridge,” Luffy says loyally. He tucks his chin back over his knees and studies his fingers, twisting and stretching them, the way Usopp will chew on his nails or Nami will drum her knuckles on her work table when they’re lost in their heads.
He sniffs alarmingly, and Sanji jerks his head around to look at him so sharply it hurts his neck. Luffy’s eyes are glassy, his mouth pressed into a thin, wobbly line. Dread sinks through Sanji’s stomach like a stone.
“It’s so stupid,” Luffy says. “Today was a good day. We went to the beach and flew kites and had barbecue for lunch. And I wasn’t even thinking about anything except how fun it all was. And then at dinner just now—” He’s clearly frustrated, tears dripping down his face. “I just thought, I wish Ace was here, and it. It hurt a lot. It hurt a lot. It’s so stupid. I wasn’t even sad.”
Then he’s crying in earnest, digging the heels of his hands into his eyes. Sanji can feel his own heart come apart.
Sanji still has moments where he misses his mother so acutely that he has to go walk it off or else have a full meltdown, and she died when he was a child. The Summit War was only two years ago. Luffy returned to them with a healed scar across his chest and a smile brighter than ever, but it’s still only been two years.
He thinks of Luffy on Whole Cake Island, starving to death to keep his promise that he wouldn’t leave until Sanji came back. Adamantly refusing to lose anyone else, no matter what it cost to keep them.
I really missed this, huh, Sanji thinks bitterly. How could I be so blind?
“It’s not stupid,” he says, when he’s certain his voice won’t break. “You love your brother, so you’ll always miss him. Doesn’t matter what kind of day you had.”
“H-He wouldn’t want me crying about it, though,” Luffy manages to get out. “He used to get so m-mad at me for being a baby.”
Sanji thinks back to that day in Alabasta, meeting a dangerous-looking man who held off a squad of Marines like it was nothing, while having a smirking conversation over his shoulder the whole time. Being introduced to him properly hours later as second division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, Fire Fist Ace. Sanji remembers feeling taken-aback at the way this proud, incredibly powerful person bowed his head to a ragtag crew of rookie pirates who hadn’t really made a name for themselves yet, humbling himself as though it was the easiest thing in the world, just to ask them to please take care of his little brother.
Sanji tries to imagine that man getting mad at Luffy for grieving him. He can’t make it make sense.
“I only met him once, so I didn’t know him very well,” Sanji says, stretching an arm up to pick a tangerine that looks ready to drop off its branch. It all but falls into his hand. “And no one knows him better than you. But I think he’d probably crawl out of his grave just to kick my ass if I even pretended to agree with you here, so I’m just gonna—”
Miraculously, Luffy’s next sob sounds more like a laugh. The world as Sanji knows it inches a little further away from ending all around him. He digs his thumbnails into the dimpled rind of the tangerine until he has a score big enough to begin peeling.
It’s a simple, well-practiced ritual. It keeps his hands busy, keeps him from running his mouth.
“I don’t like crying about him,” Luffy blurts after a minute. “He was good, and all of my memories of him are good, except for the last one. It shouldn’t be allowed to ruin all the others. I don’t want it to.”
“It won’t,” Sanji tells him. “Nothing ever could. This—” He taps Luffy’s chest with a finger, where soft pink scar tissue is hidden beneath his shirt. “—didn’t ruin you, did it? Even though it hurts sometimes?”
“I don’t think so,” Luffy says. That he isn’t sure makes Sanji want to grab him by the shoulders and shake him, but he heroically refrains.
“See?” he says instead. “Same thing. Thinking of your brother is always gonna hurt sometimes. That’s what love does.”
He remembers the way his mother beamed at him over a ruined bento and ate every single horrible bite. In a different time and place, Luffy did exactly the same thing, as delighted as Sora had been—they both seemed to know what Sanji was really trying to give them.
When the orange is peeled, he splits it apart. Each segment goes into Luffy’s hands and his captain agreeably eats them one by one.

Hi purple, hope your doing well I've been feeling down a few weeks now, so i was hoping you could do some comfort from my hubby Zoro if possible. If not then no worries, your works make me smile 💖
I'm on it, Riyuu!! 💖💖💖 Always remember, Zoro doesn't like it when you are down, he won't say it upfront, but he cares about you!! Reader is gender neutral!
Babe Below~!
Roronoa Zoro
Seeing you mope around the ship was never a good sign, if it was anyone else he would actually be at peace with that thought, God knew the chaotic ship needed some quietness, but when it came to you, a pit in his stomach grew watching you sigh. Making his way over to your sitting form, he laid next to you, watching the clouds move as the ship sailed through the sea.
“You gonna talk about what’s got you in a bad mood?” His words were harsh, but both of you could tell his tone was soft, showing he cared and was worried about your wellbeing. Leaning against your arms, you looked up at the clouds with the green haired man.
“I guess I’m just feeling a bit down, it’s nothing major.” You looked back over at the man, his good eye now staring at you instead of the clouds, watching your expression for any signs you were hiding something from him. Finally, he nodded and looked back at the sky with a look of indifference.
“I know I’m not the best at these things, but I can try,” raising your brow, trying to understand his words, Zoro only coughed awkwardly as he blushed. “I mean, I’m here for you, alright?”
Letting out a small laugh, the feeling of butterflies made their way out of your stomach as you leaned over to kiss the man, only getting a swat from him as he blushed more. “Knock it off, or I’ll leave your ass to pout.”
Knowing he was just saying that, you wrapped your arms around the laying man’s neck as you moved to lay on top of him, smiling confidently at his glaring face. “We both know that’s a lie, so just love me, stupid marimo.”

Hello! Could i please have some good good pregnancy and parenting headcanons with a fem!s/o for Law, Eustass, and Zoro please? Thank you so much and have an awesome day!
Oof pregnancy and parenting headcanon make me so soft, thank you very much for this sweet request🥺! I focussed a bit more on the pregnancy part rather than the parenting tho since I've written something similiar for Kid and Law already😅 Hope what I came up with suits you, and sorry for the long wait!
How they deal with a pregnant gf and having a baby headcanon
Trafalgar Law
because of his medical knowledge and observant nature, Law actually noticed the first signs of your pregnancy even before you did
so when you finally realize that you're pregnant and go to confront him with your discovery, he's anything but surprised
"Law, I need to tell you something. I'm-"
"Pregnant? Yeah, I thought so."
he looks pretty unbothered and composed, almost as if this isn't anything new to him, but on the inside he is completely tense and filled with anxiety. A baby just doesn't fit into your pirate lives. At all. However he doesn't want to show his true feelings and possibly cause you to panic. You already got enough on your plate with all the new physical and hormonal changes you're about to go through
personally Law didn't plan on having kids, ever, but what's done is done. To make sure that this is really what you want he'd still offer you the option of an abortion, but when you decline and tell him that you want to keep the child, he accepts your decision
"Alright (Y/N), brace yourself then. A few major changes are upon us..."
everything from the beginning of your pregnancy to the date of birth is planned out by him. Law doesn't want anything to go wrong and refuses to take risks. That means you'll spend most of your time either stuck by his side or in the proximity of another member of the Heart Pirates
Bepo, Penguin and Shachi are super excited for the kid and to be uncles. They all come up with their own ideas on what they'll do with the baby once it's born, and their enthusiasm sort of puts Law at ease. This means he and you at least won't have to deal with everything by yourselves
when you actually go into labour, Law's composed facade drops for a moment and he reveals just how stressed he's been up until now
in order to properly assist you and be there for you while you're giving birth, he forces himself to imagine that this is just an ordinary operation. It's not his girlfriend having his baby, he's not about to be a father in a few minutes-
all the stress and anxiety instantly falls off of him when he first holds the new life you two created.
the first time Law looks down at his baby he's absolutely mesmerized. Sure it's still bloody and screeching its lungs out, but despite all odds it's looking completely healthy and is actually,,,, really adorable? Holy shit, how did he manage to make something so pure-looking-
after cleaning the baby and introducing it to its mother, he brings the little human over to Bepo and lets it rest in the bear's soft fur instead of wrapping it up in a blanket. Not only should that be far more comfortable for the tiny thing, but it's also the first bonding experience with uncle Bepo. And while the baby is sleeping, Law walks over to check in on you and tells you how great you did
as far as being a dad goes, Law belongs to the supportive but distant type. Whenever he's got the chance he'll try to spend time with his kid, but there are often other, more important things he has to take care of
however he's still a proud parent and lowkey hopes that the child will take an interest in his work when it gets older. It shouldn't come as a surprise that one of the first things your kid will be taught by Papa Law is how to dissect a frog
Eustass Kid
his immediate thought when you let him know that you're pregnant is "how can I make this unhappen"
look at him, Kid is not ready to be a dad. Especially when it comes to his level of maturity he's basically still a child himself-
no one on the Victoria Punk is prepared for the big news. Their captain made a baby. There will be a kid running around the ship. Oh shit, everyone better start learning to limit their use of profanities already-
initially Kid acts pretty grumpy throughout your pregnancy. He didn't want this, but it's still happening. And he can't do anything against it. He's almost acting like a pregnant woman himself-
can not and will not handle your cravings/mood swings. Whenever you start acting up he just gets completely irritated and quickly peaces out when he can't come up with a way to deal with you
but what started out as regret turns into excitement when he thinks about how awesome his kid would be. With him as dad and you as mom it's only natural that the result will be amazing
and thus he starts to be a bit more open-minded towards the whole situation. Heck, he even gets lowkey excited and starts building a few baby cribs and closets for the child!
unfortunately tho Kid is anything but compassionate during your pregnancy, and it gets especially bad when you start showing. His immature nature shines through and he makes quite a few indecent comments on how you look a balloon,,,
for some reason he also tends to be more horny than usual. Hey, you already got a bun in the oven, so there isn't anything else you need to worry about, right?
in contrast to how he treated you during your pregnancy, he's actually very supporting and motivating during birth
lmao but that's mostly because he's eagerly waiting between your legs for the kid to plop out and right into his arm like a Christmas present
it's almost like a lottery to him and he's super excited what the brat will look like
however nothing could have prepared Kid for the moment when he gets to hold the baby for the first time. The young man basically beams with pride and grins from one ear to the other while the baby cries like an alarm clock
Kid's first time holding the newborn in a nutshell:
"Hehe, it looks like we got a girl here, ey (Y/N)?"
"Kid... that's the baby's ass. You're holding it the wrong way around."
he definitely comes up with ridiculous names for the child, such as: "Eustass Explosion", "Eustass Chainsaw" and his personal favorite- "Eustass the Destroyer"
putting his excitement aside, the young pirate captain definitely has to grow into the role of a father. At first he almost treats the kid like some sort of new toy or pet
you'll never catch him changing even a single diaper. Most of the time Kid tells Killer to man up, cover the holes in his mask, and take care of it by himself if he really wants to be considered 'the best uncle'
despite his rowdy behaviour he is aware that the child is 'fragile' and usually makes sure to keep it away from any dangerous stuff, meaning that the workshop is off-limits for the little one. Kid also never uses his metal arm when he's playing with or holding the baby; instead he build a more authentic prosthetic that'll allow him to hold the child more properly
Roronoa Zoro
his eye almost pops out of its socket when you tell him
holy shit! Zoro of course knew that sex makes babies, but what are the odds of this happening to you?! Besides he always considered himself to be too controlled and restrained for that to work?! Damn?!?!
despite the initial shock he wants to do his best to help you through the pregnancy. After all he basically caused this-
however Zoro can't even find the way to the grocery store to get some diapers
someone send him help. And by help, I mean Chopper
the reindeer himself doesn't know too much about pregnancies, but he's more than happy to collect some first-hand experience and teaches Zoro all about how to be a dad and what's going on with your body
whenever you're near he keeps his swords sheathed and tucked away from you. Once your stomach starts popping he's wary that if he comes too close to you with a sharp thing you might burst or something
at night he keeps watch like a guard dog, his overprotectiveness shines through and he often refuses to go to sleep before you
you probably go into labour while he's out getting lost or fighting some marines, but once Zoro gets the news he almost drops his sword and hurries back to be with you
but he arrives almost an hour later because he got so excited that he forgot the way back to the Sunny
Zoro really wants to help you and Chopper deliver the baby. He's constantly repeating what the reindeer doc says to you and at some point, when your pain reaches its peak, he even suggets reaching down and pulling the baby out of you with his own two hands lol
but once the first cries fill the rooms, he freezes up. It's done. Those nine months of worry, mood swings, suffering and cravings are finally over. A wave of relief washes over him as he smirks down at you, quietly saying how proud he is
however Zoro strongly refuses to hold his baby at first. He's genuinely scared he might drop it or accidentally crush it.
you and Chopper basically have to yell at him to get him out of his trance and convince the new father to take a look at his child
"Zoro, I did not go through hours of pain just so you can say no to holding our baby. For crying out loud, take your child!"
the second you put the baby into his arms Zoro's protective dad instincts kick in and now he refuses to let the child go again lmao
he's mustering the little one's face like some abstract oil painting, unable to tear his gaze from it and proudly recognizing all the similarities between the baby and its parents
luckily Zoro got some natural dad skills under his belt, and you both share the responsibilities evenly
he's never opposed to changing diapers or feeding the baby, even if the first annoys him sometimes. He also keeps the baby around himself 24/7- during workouts he puts it onto his back, when he wanders around the little one sits on his shoulders, and when he takes a nap on the desk the baby lies on his chest
all of the other Strawhats are more than welcome to take care of the baby from time to time and bond with the newest family crewmember to their heart's content. Well, that goes for everyone except Sanji. You better not let Zoro catch him handling the baby or a fight will break out-

Tap Dancer Fish
word count: 1.5k
summary: Zoro´s haramaki is falling apart and he can´t find another one to buy. You decide to crochet him one before he kills someone.
highlight: ¨You must be tired... stupid marimo.¨
notes: This was an anon request for a fluff where they have a s/o that made them a thing with crochet and how they would react. This is 1/3 of the request, we´re starting with Zoro <3
𝕷𝖊𝖆𝖛𝖊 𝖈𝖔𝖒𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖘, 𝖗𝖊𝖖𝖚𝖊𝖘𝖙𝖘, 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖑𝖔𝖛𝖊!
¨Any luck?¨ you asked without taking your eyes from the city guide, even with the rowdy sound of the metal chair scratching the brick sidewalk.
¨No.¨
¨Need any help?¨ you tried to hide your smirk by sipping your coffee.
¨No.¨
¨Well,¨ you closed the map and placed it on the table ¨I still have some errands to run. I´ll take a look around, see if I can find it. ¨
¨Thank you.¨
You placed a hand on his chest and gave him a quick peck on the lips before making your way back to your tasks.
The Strawhats had docked on a Spring Island called Gardenia. It reminded you of Dressrosa, but without the talking toys and mad king. The houses and stores were all painted a shade of green or brown, but what made it extraordinary to the eyes - and nose - was the number of flowers. All kinds of all sizes and colors decorating everything around you.
However, while you felt like an enchanted character from a fairy tale, your boyfriend felt trapped in a nightmare. For starters, everything smelled like flowers; Sanji would not stop bumping into him, saying that he mistook him for a moss tree, and the flowers made every corner look the same, so he got lost all the time.
But what was really making him grumpier than usual was his haramaki, the green garment he wore religiously around his belly - well, not religiously.
He has been procrastinating to get a new one for a long time, and despite you offering to purchase it whenever you ran errands, he would always turn the offer down. The problem was that it was not keeping itself anymore. After all the battles he fought and opponents he defeated, his haramaki was falling into pieces.
In the beginning, you were able to patch it up with some simple sewing, but now he needed to get a new one. And here´s where problem number two arises, you have entered a chain of summer and spring islands where they don´t usually sell this stuff. As a result, Zoro was mad at everyone - you were an exception, though.
It pained you to see him bothered like this, despite all of your previous warnings. Everyone has their own thing, Luffy has the straw hat, Chopper always carries his blue backpack, Sanji never stops smoking, and Zoro wears his haramaki. Anyone would be bothered, although anyone would listen to your advice.
So you came up with a plan. Since you could not find one to buy, you were going to crochet one. That was an interesting fact that no one knew so far, your ability of crocheting. You would do it whenever you were in charge of the night watch, and when you presented someone with a piece of clothing that matched their personality or traits, you would say you found it in town. Reason being that you didn´t want to be swamped with sweaters and beanies to do. You knew the crew would go crazy if they didn´t have to pay for winter clothes anymore.
¨Yosh, now I just have to make it.¨ you looked at the green ball of yarn in your hands before hiding it at the bottom of your bags.
~
¨Oi, Luffy! Don´t steal her food!¨
¨But she´s not even eating it, Sanji!¨
¨Y/N, are you ok?¨
¨Y/N?¨
¨Y/N!¨ you almost fell off the chair when you woke up from your zombie state.
¨What?¨
¨You look tired. Are you getting sick?¨ Robin asked, placing a hand on your forehead. ¨I hope you didn´t get some deadly poison from a plant.¨
¨Oi, Robin! Don´t say these scary things!¨ Usopp cried and walked away from you.
¨I couldn´t sleep last night.¨ the girls stared at you with a malicious smirk, and Sanji stormed out on flames ¨Yeah, uhum, I wish! I couldn´t sleep because Zoro kept rolling on the bed, it felt like I was sharing a bed with a tap dancer fish!¨ you shouted grumpily.
The longer he stayed without a decent haramaki, the more jittery he got. So throughout the night, he rolled on the bed, got up to train, went back to bed because he was too frustrated to train, mumbled and grumbled, and made you go through his insanity with him. At some point, you were planning on throwing him off the ship or choke him with that stupid belly warmer.
After you finished your third cup of coffee, you decided to head to the deck. Your green-haired tap dancer fish was napping on the grass with furrowed brows and arms crossed. Suddenly, the irritation you felt was gone.
¨You must be tired... stupid marimo.¨ you whispered and made your way to your room.
He never bothered you before. Even when the other guys made him go crazy, he would always lay down, hold you close to his body, and sleep. On the days you were not so tired, pillow talks would last hours and hours, and he would tell you things he hasn´t told anyone; he would show interest in the stupid things you like and be the Zoro the other guys would never get to know.
So you fought your will to go to sleep and grabbed the wool and a hook, determined to put an end to both of your miseries as soon as possible.
With Zoro napping all day, Robin in charge of the ship, and the rest of the guys exploring the Island, you would have all the peace in the world to work.
And that was exactly what you did. You were definitely going to hear from Chopper for going the entire day without a sip of water or bathroom break. Your fingers were red and hurting, and your shoulders were stiff and sore. But it was worth it.
It was almost dark when you finished, part of you wanted to wrap it with laces or some sort of crap, but you passed out as soon as you heard the snap of the scissor cutting the yarn. You didn´t even know you had passed out until you woke up the next day, sunlight hitting your eyes.
You were alone in bed, but not the way you imagined. You expected cramps and spasms to take over your body, but all you got was a slight soreness. You were in your pajamas and tucked like a baby.
¨What the-¨ you sat and searched over the blanket looking for the crochet garment, but found no sign of it ¨Did I dream about that?¨
You threw yourself off the bed and marched - more like crawled - to the kitchen, craving for coffee.
¨Morning, Y/N!¨ everyone was already up, although Luffy was sleep eating again.
¨Morning, guys.¨ your voice came out sleepy. You grabbed a cup of coffee and sat beside Zoro ¨Good morning, you.¨ You smiled.
¨Morning, sleepyhead.¨ He kissed your temple.
¨I´m so happy you found it, Y/N. I don´t think we would be able to handle his mood anymore.¨ Nami said relieved, and Zoro yelled something when everyone agreed. You gave her a confused look, and she pointed at your boyfriend.
Your eyes scanned him, oblivious for a moment, but when you noticed him wearing the haramaki you made, a big smile grew on your face. That also explains why you slept comfortably in your pajamas, he must have gone to check on you and saw your pitiful state alongside his present.
¨Yeah, I was lucky, I guess.¨ He held your hand tighter under the table.
After breakfast, the two of you decided to stay on deck, enjoying the gentle sun and the fresh breeze before it was time to set sail again. You were sitting between his legs, against his chest, and his hands rested on your lap while you played with each other´s fingers.
¨Thank you... for making it for me.¨ You forgot about sore muscles. You forgot about raw fingers. Listen to him sounding so relaxed and peaceful made you forget about everything.
¨Thanks for not telling the guys I made it. Besides that, how are you going to protect my ass if you can´t focus without this stupid belly wrap?¨ he let out a lazy laugh, and you felt his body vibrating against yours.
¨Well, thank you again. I really liked it, and I won´t ruin it.¨
¨I know.¨ you whispered, closing your eyes and seizing the moment.
You knew he would eventually destroy it, but that was fine. You didn´t have the emotional connection to it like he had. What mattered to you was his well-being. You were not strong enough to protect him - not that he needed - so keeping him warm and loved was your internal mission. Because that´s how he made you feel.
