Rylan: Don’t worry dad, I am not disappointed with third. Flynn: I had a hunch you might not be. 

He hugged his parents, who were then hugged by Ye-min, some small talk between them before Odette joined them as well. 

Odette: Next year, I think that will be your year. Rylan: You do? Odette: Yes, you did so well this year, I can only see you do even better next year. As long as your heart is in it that is. Ye-Min: Sounds good to me!

They had a long talk with their coach when they realized their best was not good enough yet, which was always a bit of a bad feeling in competition. But like she had told them, they were still very young, and a third place there was actually nothing short of amazing. She also said they were allowed to be disappointed, but they were not allowed to dwell on it forever. If they wanted to become better, she had made a long list of things they could improve.

Flynn: So, how do we celebrate this success? Rylan: Can we be at the shelter today, and just hang out with the animals? Flynn: Of course.-he smiled, it was not quite the answer he had expected.- Why the shelter though? Rylan: It's calm and well, we haven't been there in a while, with all our practice. Ye-Min: And it's so nice to just be alone for a bit, with the animals! Rylan: Yeah Tyvan: No fans to ask for selfies!

There was a laugh between them, but also a look between Flynn and Emil, that they would need to talk with Rylan about it later. For now though, they would head to the shelter to celebrate. The day ended with dinner and a large cake at River and Lucas’s place as a little surprise. 

The next big thing for them all, was Amuary’s graduation, which Tyvan had asked to go too. Flynn and Emil had decided to come as well, hoping that perhaps they could finally meet Amuary’s vami, who they assumed might be there.

Tyvan: Why do you want to meet Ams mother so badly? Emil: -spots Amuary with his vami. Amuary's Vami is very similar to Amuary, though he wears a blindfold-... Tyvan: Mom Flynn: Emil?

Amuary's Vami notices Emil and the others, smiling and giving them a small confirming nod.

Tyvan: Mom, do you know hi..?

Emil lifted an eyebrow, he had perhaps thought it could happen, he knew that when they were younger Ye-Min had a crush on Rylan, but as she quickly realized he only saw her as his best friend, she got over it quickly and just wanted to be that, his best friend. 

Emil: No, there is nothing wrong with you. You probably just haven’t had the luck to meet that person that makes you feel that way. And even if you never do, then that does not mean something is wrong with you. Okay? Rylan: Okay. -they smiled slightly at their mom- I will however have to make sure Marty is good enough for her. Emil: Of course, she is your friend and partner after all. -they chuckled- that I would see as a good friend's job. Rylan: Thanks mom, ehm.. Where is dad though?

He just realized that normally he would find his parents together in the evening, yet, now that he had his talk, he realized his mom was here alone.

Emil: At work, his dad called him to ask if he could help with an emergency at the shelter. Rylan: Somehow, I should have guessed shouldn’t I? Emil: Yes. -they winked and ruffled their son's hair.- Now how about you get some sleep, you have early practice tomorrow.

Rylan: I know I’m not a child.. But Emil: A story? Rylan: Yeah, I’d like that.

Emil just smiled and walked to Rylan’s bedroom with him. They might be teenagers and soon adults, but both he and his twin still liked being read stories too.

It was a good way to take everyone's mind of what was to come, which they would all be nervous for. Before anyone really felt ready the first day of competition had come and gone, leaving Rylan and Ye-Min in a very good 5th place with a shot on the top three still, as it was, very very close.

Liam: What? Rylan: Eh.. my mind keeps going over the silly little mistakes Tyvan: Well you wouldn’t be you if you didn’t.

The three sat in Liam’s bed, just chatting about the day’s happenings. Ye-Min was with her parents so it was the three of them talking the evening and some nerves away.

Rylan: It’s close though, if we do things perfectly tomorrow, we have a shot at the top three. Tyvan: Which would be amazing if you think about it. You only started competing on the top level recently compared to those you are competing with. Rylan: I know, and all my ideas of them being mean have been shattered, they have all been super nice around us. Liam: Good, would be sad if it really was like so many movies show. Rylan: True, but competition can bring out every side in people I guess.

He noticed Rylan just standing and looking out the window. There was clearly something on his mind, he knew his son that well. Emil was with Tyvan, the two of them in the middle of reading a book so it was just the two of them for now. 

Rylan: I was just wondering.. I mean, everyone knows what I am, but what if what I am, gives us an advantage? I mean, I am part dragon, if I am stronger and such? Flynn: Oh you are far from the only supernatural one that competes, and in this although strength does help, it technique. And you can take it from your bumblefoot dad, that it does not come naturally. You are not judged on your strength directly, but your skill, artistry and synchronization. Rylan: Strength does help with the throws and lifts though.. But your right, without doing it right, I could have all the strength in the world, and it would not be good. Flynn: Also, knowing you have that extra strength, means you have to learn much more control. 

He heard a chuckle from Rylan, remembering from when they were much younger, and were starting to learn the lifts and throws, and how much extra he had to work doing with a doll, to learn to manage his power and strength perfectly. Both him and Flynn remembered that poor doll hitting hard against the walls while he slowly learned. 

Flynn: Now come on, you need rest before tomorrow. Ye-Min is already deep asleep.

Putting an arm around his son's shoulder, the two stood for the famous five more windows just watching the nightlife outside the window.

When their baked goods were done, they headed to the shelter to help out with what they could, feeding the horses, brushing some horses, and of course, being a pet bed for both cats and dogs. After some hours there, they all headed back to Rylan and Tyvan’s place where Emil and Flynn had been setting up a movie evening for them, knowing it would help soothe everyone's nerves for the weekend that was coming.

Several movies later, with snacks and much laughter, they started sending the kids home to their respective parents. Ye-Min was staying with them, as her mother was still sick, although it seemed slowly winning the fight that she had been fighting for all these years. So they had a deal with them that they would have her over before competitions so she could focus without worrying too much. Emil watched as Tyvan and Amuary stood talking a bit before he was about to head off. 

Emil: Amuary, before you go, I have a thing I would like to ask. Amuary: Of course. Emil: As you are good friends with Tyvan, I would like to invite you and your parents for dinner. Amuary:... In your home? Flynn: Yes. If that's okay. Amuary: Vami is always very busy but I can ask… Emil: It would be nice to meet them.

Tyvan watched his parents, a small smile on his lips. They were as always looking out for him, and they knew everyone else's parents, so it was of course only natural for them to want to meet Amuary’s too. Though they had a suspicion that it might be tricky, from what they had learned their Vami was very busy which didn’t seem to bother Amuary much so it had never really bothered them either.

Emil chuckled, he had heard quite a few versions of what the young one wanted to become.

Emil: With her determination, no matter what she ends up deciding in the end, I have no doubt she will do great. Vy: Ibuki is much.. Softer, he doesn’t know what he wants to do yet. Emil: He still has time though? Vy: He does.. I can in many ways see him becoming a writer, or perhaps an artist. He is very good at drawing. Emil: I noticed, he has a very good eye. He often sits with Rylan and they draw together. -they smile softly- They are good kids. Vy: That they are.

Two months later, Liam looked out on the big rink, standing next to his two brothers, and their friends and family. As it was over a weekend, they had all been allowed to come for this occasion.

Rylan: So big. Ye-Min: It’s HUGE. Liam: It’s like a concert hall.. Wow!

Tyvan chuckled, as they made their way down, thankfully noticing Rylan and Amuary both making sure he got down safely, offering him one hand each as they descended the many steps down to the ice rink itself. 

Rylan: Are we really ready for this? Kaylin: Of course you are, just see it as an adventure, and an experience to learn from. Ye-Min: I agree!

Emil: I’m happy they're not there yet though. Flynn: Me too.

Finding their hands pulled by Rylan to get them over to their shared cake that Liam had baked for them, as lights were once again lit, and then blown out. Emil watches his family with a soft smile. The family he had never really thought he would get, and now he had his two little ones, and so many kids in his life.

Vy: It’s a good feeling, isn’t it? Emil: It is.  Vy: Did I hear it right though, Rylan and Ye-Min are going to the national championships for their age group soon? Emil: Yeah, they qualified with ease, so their coach asked if they could be allowed to go, mostly to experience it. It's quite different from the competitions they have been to so far. Vy: Bigger or? Emil: Bigger, harder, the best ones from all around will be there, and stricter judging. Vy: So a big test, and experience. Good, their coach seems to be a good one. Emil: Indeed. -they smile at Vy- I heard Kaylin wanted to be a cop? Vy: Oh yes, she is all in on catching the bad guys. -he chuckles- and I think she might just make a pretty good one. Although knowing here, she will want to be something else soon enough.

Amuary: Wow.. I mean I know I saw them at training, but wow. Tyvan: Yeah.. -they smiled proudly- it's amazing!

As the music ended and Rylan and Ye-Min did their bow’s, applause broke out in the stands, making the two look at each other and smile. Skating back to their coach, they both got big hugs from her, and then of course they would have to wait and see. To no one's surprise though, they were an hour later the winners of their first ever competition.

When they had changed, and Rylan came to his family, there were more hugs to be had, and a trophy to be shown off. 

River: Now then, how about dinner? Tyvan: Dinner? River: Yep, to celebrate of course. A certain sneaky superstar has made us reservations at our favorite restaurant. Rylan: For all of us? River: All of us, including Ye-Min and her parents, if they want to.

Watching the kids, Flynn noticed Emil was frowning deeply.

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh? Very easy, he is the type that can laugh about almost anything, even when they hit their toe against something sharp, they just can't help but laugh, even though it fucking hurts. He also has a very contagous laugh, the type that if he starts and really gets the chuckles, no one in a room could either not smile, or start laughing too.

4. How easy is it to earn their trust? He is far from the worst with it, although I think he is good at giving people some trust to begin with, and then let them prove to him that they are worth more trust that just that little bit in the beginning. So you have to work a bit to get into that proper inner circle of trust. Outwardly that makes him seem really trustful to most.

7. What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling? There are two things that are equal for him nostaliga wise. (this is a bit of a spoiler, but ah well) watching pairs skate is something that triggers nostalgia for him. After him and Ye-Min's accident he never got a new partner to skate with, but went solo. He doesn't mind that feeling, but it is bittersweet for him. It's hard to wonder what if. The other thing is helping out at the shelter. It brings back all the memories he had a child, and he loves the feeling it gives. It's simply comforting. So yes, he brings his daughter along, to hopefully give her the same feelings as he has when there.

17. Are they easily embarrassed? Suprisingly yes. He has learned how to hide it well due to his job, but yeah, he is quite easily embarrased. He doesn't blush easily, but a tell tell sign is shuffeling of feet and twiddeling his fingers when he gets embarrased.

30. Who do they most regret meeting? Hmh... I don't know if he regrets meeting anyone, he has been lucky that way. The only thing that comes to mind, is some of the kids that were bullies when he were younger, saying that his love for figure skating wasn't good. And then for me: A: Why are you excited about this character? Because he is so different from the normal character I make. I tend to make the happy couples and all that, and Rylan simply deviates from that norm, and I adore him for that. B: What inspired you to create them? He kinda did himself, I do play the kids a little, I made him a teen, and no matter who flirted with him, no one was interrested. So first I was thinking a bachelor, to find that spark, but after talking about it with @mahvaladara i realized I didn't feel that was right. He shouldn't have to fall in love with anyone if he so clearly did not want to. C: Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story? Yes, because my brain followed my standard they shall find someone and live happily ever after in the end, but they wanted differently. D: Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look? They aged up pretty much the way they looked now, I had to add the horns, scales hair and eyes, but other than that he is basically just how he grew up. E: Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you? Yeah, I think we would get along, We share a few traits, and some ways of thinking.

F: What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)? A half a year ago: Frustration, because i did not know what to do with them, none of the original idea felt right. Now, exitment and pride in who I feel they chose to be.

G: What trait of theirs bothers you the most? He is a athletic one.. so he always wants to exercise, mostly skate tbh, but its every single time I try and do something, like poses, he breaks out and does pushups, goes to skate and so on.

H: What trait do you admire most? His devotion to his family, specially his daughter and her mother. Even though they are not together, he cares deeply for both of them, and his family in general. He is very very family oriented.

I: Do you prefer to keep them in their canon universe? I don't mind him going a bit in the fantasy direction on occasion, or an AU if it comes to mind. As long as his little one can come with, I'm happy with whatever my silly mind can come up with.

J: Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character? Luckily not. He had no big canon other than being part of the story I have.
