my entire garden reeks of basil.

the scent of the mint is no longer keeping it out. it is spreading, overruning my garden. the azaleas are wilting, the cold plastic of my hands never gentle enough to soothe their fragile leaves.

the oleanders have started blooming. they're a striking white, a piercing and perfect ivory. i try to caress the petals, but i don't have enough control over my hands and the dainty little blossoms fall to the ground, dead.

i have killed my sunflowers. a string was tugged and i knocked them over.

i accidentally stepped on my strawberries. i stumbled after my foot cracked after stepping on something sharp.

my irises never germinated. i must have overwatered them.

everything is browning at the edges.

Things I have learned having watched Suzume (I thought this was gonna be a funny no spoilers thing but then my third point has a rant that is very spoiler-y so uh SPOILERS)

Always remember to shut and lock your doors

Makoto Shinkai will never give me a couple kiss and I know that’s not the point of any of these movies and you need not have a kiss to demonstrate affection or love and I know the whole thing of this movie was more about her self-actualisation and emotional closure from her mother’s death disguised as a action romance but GODDAMMIT SHE KISSED THE CHAIR AT LEAST TWICE. SHE TRUE LOVE KISSED HIM AWAKE. LIKE LITERALLY THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED. He’s also at least 4 years older than her. So maybe that’s why. She’s seemingly in her second year high school which covers the whole 16-17 range and he’s done 4 years of University so supposing he was 18 when he graduated high school, he’s 22-23 years old. Not a bad age gap for once she graduates BUT NONETHELESS A GAP. And he completely fell in love with her while he was a chair. Bc Suzume was out here being a badass. And she kissed him twice awake. Saving him twice with LITERAL TRUE LOVE’S KISS.

Anyway I lost track of wtf I was saying with that last point so: it was a very beautiful film, as is Shinkai’s standard, and actually a very well-rounded and well-paced film. Weathering with You has a distinct drag in the middle. In terms of pacing and story structure, Suzume probably follows Kimi no Na Wa, which is a classic at this point… but has a bit more definitive ending for the main couple while KNNW is a bit more ambiguous.

I enjoyed it. Soundtrack slapped. You will be singing the main theme afterward.

Kimi no Na wa/Your Name Sukugo AU. 3 different ways ;D Switching things up a bit by having Satoru as the country boy and Sukuna as the city boy.

The first follows KnNw canon exactly; the second has them as university students instead; and the third as adults.

In 2, Sukugo would've met on the grounds of their shared university while in 3, they would be introduced as either co-workers or Satoru being Sukuna's nephew Yuuji's primary teacher.

In all three, when Sukugo finally meet face to face at the temple, before forgetting each other, they manage a quick kiss- their first after slowly falling in love over this entire body-switching thing. It's rushed, messy and sudden but, at the moment, it was the most perfect kiss in the world.

Even if they don't manage to write each other's names on their wrists or it fades away- the lingering warmth of the kiss follows them over the years.

Until their 'first' meeting in this new timeline, a fateful meeting of eyes and-

"Your name is..."

In my head it would be no abilities but aku would still be in the PM in the city while atsushi is in the orphanage out in the countryside. When they start switching bodies, the rest of the black lizard is like ‘Akutagawa just softly smiled what the FUCK is going on’ and in the same way the grandmother knew about the switches I think the headmaster would know what’s going on with Atsushi

Firm believer of aku doesn’t like/know how to use a phone so all their messages to each other are in notebooks that both of them keep hidden and then are suddenly blank when the switches stop after the comet

I think that if atsushi were able to go to Yokohama he would bring a little black jacket and would leave it with aku (who didn’t recognize him) but aku would keep that jacket and wear it as like an undercover disguise when he goes to investigate Atsushi’s whereabouts (like the bracelet)

In the magic hour scene when they go to write name on their hands, just to make it soooo sskk I think aku would write ‘just the two of us’ on Atsushis hand

When they meet up in the years later I do imagine it like in beast where they’re both at the cafe at the same time

i guess i do have internet friends on tumblr, i only personally talk to like 2 or 3 of them but not as often as i should, i have a hard time responding to messages n stuff. i do like a lot of my mutuals tho! terminally online so parasocial relationship is strong
