So...
Was anyone going to tell me Joey Batey could go completely feral with a sword, or was I supposed to find out on my own?!
Also, anyone else here suddenly wants The Witcher to include a "fantasy sequence" where Jaskier is narrating some of his and Geralt's adventures, and there's a bit where Geralt is injured, so Jaskier just ends up grabbing one of his swords and either heroically defeating the monster himself, or fighting back against a small army?
And we're, like, visually shown that epic fight until someone calls bullshit, and they show that either the monster was already about to drop dead (and fell to the floor before Jaskier had the chance to actually do anything with the sword), or there was a single guy left, and Jaskier just knocked him out from behind or something.
I mean having a guy that's freaking trained in fencing, kick boxing, medieval sword fighting, and stage combat (according to IMDb) on a fantasy show like "The Witcher", with all those awesome fight choreographers, and not having him show off those fighting skills at least once feels like such a waste!
I get that Jaskier can't fight like that, but COME ON! He'd totally be able to imagine it!
It's the whole point of poetry, damnit! It doesn't have to be real!
And I've just discovered that archers have a nasty habit of thinking he makes a good target.

Tom Cullen in Knightfall (2017) You'd Know What to Do
S1E1
Accra has fallen, the Holy Grail is lost deep in the sea. At the same time the grand master Templar is slaughtered and the plot is starting a by letting Landry not knowing what to do...
*Isabella ,Queen Joan and King Philip's daughter mentions that wants "to marry prince Lluís, heir of the Kingdom of Catalonia". The Kingdom of Catalonia has never existed. They were referring to the Kingdom of Aragon, or more probably to the "Crown of Aragon" which includes the Kingdom of Aragon, the Kingdom of Valencia and also the County of Barcelona,

● 👏👏👏👏
Synopsis: The Joker and Scarecrow continue to terrorize the mayor into making various irresponsible phone calls. At a loss for something new to cause chaos in Gotham City with, the pair eventually decides to force Mayor Krol to tell the president of the Firefighter's Union that he is thinking of cutting the rolls.
The irony of choosing the Firefighter's Union as a target is apparent in the rampage of Firefly, who has set fire to Elmo's Pier, an amusement park. Batman and Robin arrive on the scene, and Robin tries to persuade his mentor to let him help. Robin is becoming increasingly concerned for Batman's physical and mental health, having gone days without sleep. Batman tells Robin to stay with the car while he swings up to the top of a roller coaster ride, where Firefly watches his latest work raptly.
Before Batman can even engage Firefly in a fight, the arsonist flies away on a glider, carried by the thermals of the fire he set. Batman is left hanging precariously from a burning beam on the ride. Fortunately, Robin sends up a grappling line, and Batman slides down hoping that his partner can't see his weakness. Of course, it is obvious to Robin, who claims that Batman's current method of throwing himself at each villain rather than using his mind is not what he taught his protégé. Batman relents, and allows Robin to do the detective work required to find Firefly's next target.
Elsewhere, The Ventriloquist holds his former lawyer, Mr. Detweiler at gunpoint, demanding to know the location of Scarface. The lawyer suggests that the dummy would likely be in an evidence locker at the last precinct that the Ventriloquist was arrested.
Meanwhile, Tim Drake discovers that Firefly was an orphan, and decides to check out the orphanage as a lead. When he arrives, a mysterious nun reveals that Firefly had a sister named Amanda. Robin decides to follow that lead.
In a seedy bar, The Riddler's thugs are growing impatient with his need to come up with appropriate riddles for his crimes, considering that they've already chosen a target and gathered their equipment together. Riddler tries to explain the importance of the riddle to his crimes, as he seals an envelope addressed to Gotham City Police Headquarters. Later, over at Headquarters, the officers are all called away to prevent an attack on Castleland Park, leaving the Riddler's letter unread.
Officers Montoya and Carberry visit Firefly's sister Amanda Kelso, who explains that her brother became bitterly resentful of the families visiting the orphanage who promised to take them to fun locations in Gotham, and he is now burning those locations down. She makes a list offers a list of potential targets, which an eavesdropping Robin records. He reports the list to Batman, who has just taken down Cavalier.
Batman finds Firefly at the former Majestic Theatre. The arsonist claims that he has no interest in fighting with Batman, and attempts escape, but the Dark Knight leaps after him, and they both tumble down into the flames together.

I forgot just how cringe and ableist the commentary in the knightfall comics is
They have 1 TV personality going on about how the Arkham escapees are mentally divergent and deserve our sympathies and might feel slighted and he's portrayed as an obtuse idiot. It's like. You can tell bat writers/editors must have seen someone pointing out that maybe it's slightly ableist to have all your villains be mentally ill people incarcerated in an asylum and those creators reacted to criticism with the least amount of dignity possible

Since his 1939 debut in the pages of Detective Comics, Batman has become an icon, instantly recognizable the world over. Yet, despite being known to millions, Gotham City’s Guardian has been interpreted in so many radically different ways that we all now have our own Batman. To some he’s the colorful Caped Crusader who dispatches villains with a POW! To others he’s the grim Dark Knight hell-bent on avenging the death of his parents. And to others still he’s made of LEGO, has great abs, and likes to eat lobster thermidor!

hello i was wondering if you had any favorite batman comics or ones you'd reccomend for someone who wants to read more batman or know any good reclists, ty hope you have a good one^_^
hiiiii hi! yes, absolutely!
my favorite batman comic of all time is batman: ego, which is collected here with some other darwyn cooke batman work!
i'd also highly recommend scott snyder's 2011 batman run and the companion batman and robin run -- though keep in mind that damian's death happens in a different run and batman and robin explores the aftermath of it.
i'm currently rereading no man's land, which is a really influential and important piece of gotham city lore in general that explores the aftermath of a series of events (catyclysm and contagion, but also knightfall!) that lead the US government to declare gotham city condemned and separate from the united states: nobody gets in, nobody gets out. (if you want to know what led here, bruce briefly mentions knightfall, contagion, and catyclysm. i'd say knightfall is pretty important, but these are really only "mandatory" if you want to know the exact circumstances that led to no man's land).
i don't keep up with too many modern comics, but batman: failsafe (which starts here and ends at issue 130) is pretty okay. i mostly liked the zurr-en-arrh backup stories. tynion's detcom run is also pretty good. i enjoyed some pieces of batman: urban legends, but it's an anthology series, so not everything is gonna be to your taste.
all of those have to some degree focused on bruce-as-batman, which makes sense, because he's batman most of the time, but two dick-as-batman recommendations i have are the 2009 morrison batman and robin run and batman: the black mirror, which is a horror comic with a lot of gore, if you're not into that.
dick-as-batman is directly on the heels of final crisis, where bruce, uh. Dies, but that's not really introductory material.
how about some villain stuff? scarecrow year one and face the face are two favorites, along with some previously mentioned stuff like knightfall, no man's land, black mirror, etc.
if you want to know more about the life and death of jason todd, a death in the family and under the red hood are the places to start. do not read red hood and the outlaws. everyone who likes it is lying to you. it isn't good. red hood: lost days fills in some gaps about jason's time post-resurrection. dailyjasontodd has compiled a wonderful list of jason reading that i highly recommend!
i also like batman black and white (and its two sequels, the one from 2013 and the one from 2020. they're all anthology series) and batman: gotham knights (NOT the video game. the comic book).
batgirl 2000! also really fucking good! i forgot it the first time i wrote this post! whoops!
i also really recommend the batman unburied podcast, batman the animated series, the batman beyond tv show, and batman forever (which is a really stupid, awful movie. i love it deeply.)
i hope this helped and gave you some ideas on where to start! batman comics are an intimidating thing to get into, but these are some things i'd consider introductory. happy reading!! <3
