3 Unpopular Opinions: Klaineofsky Edition!

1. Blaine and Dave are both autistic, and specifically the kind of extroverted autistic guy that wants everyone to like him and is awkward but in a charming way (I know several).

2. Dave and Kurt are both furries. Dave knows he's a furry but Kurt hasn't come out to himself yet.

3. Klaine is destined for divorce because they never actually addressed the problems that lead to their break up and the fact that they had just gotten back together is shaky ground for a marriage. They'll probably remarry, but it won't be smooth sailing.

So, I'm going to be honest with you - I don't know enough about autism to have a nuanced conversation about it. So, I'd rather not comment on this one.

Lol. I can see Dave being one, eventually. Kurt - I think I'll disagree here. Cert in Rachel's terrible TV show is probably, though. ;)

So - here's my thing about this kind of stuff. Klaine is a fictional couple set in a fictional world where cheating is a part of every couple's destiny, you can work at your old high school at 19 without a teaching degree, stalk your way into college, and write a song the day before competition and have it performed flawlessly with everyone knowing the choreography. So, you can have Klaine do whatever you feel like post-series. Unless RM comes up with a reunion show and addresses it - we can interpret the future anyway we want. There's no right or wrong on these opinions. :)

I'll add to the last point, though, we have no idea if they addressed their problems or not - because we really didn't get to see it. How do we know they didn't have conversations about their relationship? How do we know they didn't go to counseling? How do we know that they didn't end up staying mad at each other and lived in a long, unhappy marriage until they both died? We don't. The show has a ton of gaps and that is why we have so much fanfiction, lol <3 <3

In Toronto, Ontario, Canada, there’s a park known to the world as Canada’s Wonderland. However, that’s only what the people within the park want to project to their visitors. For the employees of the park, Canada’s Wonderland is anything but a wonderland. For them, it’s the place they work their asses off and barely make enough money for a shopping trip to the mall. However, they live for free in an apartment just next to the theme park, their meals while on duty are free, and they get to spend their time out in the sun, which is always a great way to get a tan. 

Some of them work at the carnival booths, others work at the food stands. Most of them oversee the rollercoasters and thrill rides. And then there’s the lucky few who get to lifeguard over at the water park part of the park. It’s the most enjoyable - especially since the employees have to ride the slides themselves sometimes. 

For this group of kids, this summer will be unlike any other. A free summer in Canada, spending their time at an amusement park. What’s not to love? Let’s just see if these kids can hang in there and make it out alive. After all, young adults tend to come with a load of drama, right?

Blaine: Guys, I'm sorry that things got so out of hand. I didn't mean for you guys, or Artie, to get any hate. I'm not mad at you for what you asked me, having time to think about it, I'm flattered. But, I can't do it. I love you both, so much, but this isn't me, and I'm sorry. I don't want to lose the two of you, I still class you as my closest friends. I'm so sorry.

Klaineofsky Dreaming

Sorry I don't know how to do a read more thingy, its all just one big long read... So for some reason I’m sitting in the McKinley canteen with Dave Karofsky to my left looking afraid and dejected. Blaine’s to my immediate right, he’s not happy about being here, not in the slightest but he’s trying to be nice. And Kurt’s sitting opposite me all on his own and he’s annoyed but its more with everyone else around us. I’m here solely for Dave, no other reason, I believe in him and I want him to be happy. He’s all hunched up and he looks so lost right now that I just want to snatch him up and run away to find somewhere he can be himself. Blaine’s polite and trying to keep the conversation going. Kurt’s surprisingly gentle and he’s glancing at Dave every now and again, it’s like he’s willing Dave on. We eat, well we pick at our food, and I don’t know when it happens but Blaine’s telling a story about Glee club, I can’t remember what it was about, and Dave says something, not nasty, not mean, but funny. And Blaine laughs and gets this look that says, wow I didn’t know you could be funny. Kurt’s laughing too and I laugh and then Dave chuckles a bit. It’s now near the end of lunch and suddenly Blaine’s plastered right up against me, I’m in the way of his sports talk with Dave, and Kurt’s sitting there oh so innocently nibbling on some salad, and I know he’s set the whole thing up. I’m not even mad at him because the look on Dave’s face is shy and sweet and he’s maybe realising he’s not as alone as he thought he was. He’s not there yet but no one at this table is judging him, in fact we’re all here for him, even Blaine. And then I woke up. Damn now all I want from Glee is a Klaineofsky friendship, I don’t care who is who’s boyfriend, I just want them to be friends. To see the gentler caring side of Kurt. The relaxed cub scout bear cub of Dave testing his little gay wings out and learning to like himself. Of Blaine facing some of his past (the beating and ending up in hospital for example) so he won’t be held down by it, he can move on with his own life and not have to worry so much about conforming to other peoples’ ideas of that he should be. Plus the thought of Kurt and Blaine dragging an unwilling Dave into a shop for clothes because “David that polo colour is so last season”. Of Kurt phoning one or the other to find out they’re watching sports together. Of Blaine not having to be the centre of attention to realise he has his own worth. I have warm fuzzy feelings over these ideas.

Dave should’ve been the assistant football coach in s6 instead of Sam

• Kurt and Dave going from both being students at McKinley to both being teachers (more or less) and instead of their relationship being toxic it’s just really fucking awkward

• Bc Blaine is dating Dave and therefore around McKinley more often so there’s lots of awkward tension and delicious angst around Klaine/Klaineofsky 

• As Kurt and Blaine make it back to friendlier terms, it lets Kurt and Dave’s friendship grow as well

• At least one double date of Blaineofsky and Kalter that’s still awkward as hell but especially for Walter and Dave bc Klaine’s legendary chemistry can’t be tamed (parallel the Breadstix Mercedes third wheel incident but worse cause they’re both supposedly on dates with other people)

• Dave would get to be Sheldon’s friend and confidant and it would be a good parallel and growth moment of like. Dave needing Kurt’s guidance in s3 and then him being able to turn around and help Sheldon through his transition journey and guiding him on being part of the queer community 

And of course Klaine is still endgame so he still bows out gracefully but idk it hurts more bc they’ve all really become friends through all the awkwardness and they don’t want to hurt one another but. Some things are just meant to be or not be

And maybe we see him in the flashforward with another guy or something idk but he’s happy and they’re all friends. I know he never stood a chance but they could’ve made it feel a little more like he did? I’m glad they brought him back at all though to give his character some closure but still

Oh and Dave being the assistant coach means Sam isn’t there and so no weird awkward Samchel to force down our throats just to throw it in the garbage when you bring Jesse back for no reason so. Win win win all around
