how was your week? Mine was good, I finally finished my first knitting project and now I'm learning bookbinding! It's really fun. I also got to pet a cat :]]. Other than that not much happened lol.

hiiii hello! my week was really good! very busy for once. it was my dad’s birthday, it snowed a lot on thursday so we had a snow day and then i went skiing yesterday :D

today i sadly have to do a ton of homework since i haven’t had much time for it, but i might spend some time outside later and perhaps bake swedish kladkaka (it’s like brownies but more gooey) do you have any plans for the weekend?

The best sticky chocolate cake in the world comes from a country on the continent across the great ocean; Europe. the country was called Sweden.

I do not know if it still exists or if anyone there is still alive in these days...

This is, in my opinion, the best way to make this delicious sticky chocolate cake. If you want a slice, come by the Baker’s  and it’s there, or in the oven!

cafe series // Fika Swedish Kitchen in Sydney, Australia.

I’m obviously in a nostalgic mood: here’s another throwback! A few months after coming home from Sweden, I made the trip to Sydney to visit some friends I met overseas. Another girl who I went to Uppsala with took me to this amazing cafe, which is run by Swedes, and I almost felt like I’d never left the country. The food was amazing, just as I remember, and the shelves above the serving area were filled with Swedish condiments. I had an amazing toast skagen, kanelbulle and kladkaka. (And some kaffe of course). 

Flawlessly reminiscent, embodying the Scandi interior and creating the perfect atmosphere with the frequently overheard conversations in Swedish. I would love to go back there again.

2 Year Old Makes Fast Easy Chocolate Cake: Swedish Kladkaka: Susie's Cooking Show

 Today 2 Year Old Susie is making a super easy chocolate cake. This is a great recipe for kids because there are about 6 ingredients, and you just dump it in and stir it up! If you've seen Susie's other episodes, you know she can't resist eating batter. We chose to put the eggs in last so Susie could sample the batter before baking. 

 The Kladkaka is a traditional Swedish chocolate cake, which doesn't require any frosting, another plus if you are baking with kids! I don't know much more about the Kladkaka, so maybe our Swedish fans can enlighten us on your experience makign this delicious desert! 

 Recipe: 1/2 cup melted butter ,1 1/3 cups sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, 1 pinch salt, 1 tablespoon vanilla,  Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.

 It's going to seem like it's not done yet, but if you are used to making traditinoal cake, take it out earlier than you think because this cake is meant to be gooey in the middle. I'm sure there is a method to mixing the ingredients, but we just tossed them in and cooked it since Susie is 2 and, lets face it, she's going to eat it all anyway! It turned out great! I recommend using a spring form pan and baking paper, we only had a regular cake pan and it stuck a little bit where Susie scraped the bottom of the pan with the spatula.
