summary: you have to tell your boyfriend something and you decide to do it creative way.

It took you two weeks to think of a perfect way to tell Colby he was going to be a dad.

Two weeks and you decided to use a pair of little navy converse and a song.

But not any song.

Harry Styles’ song.

You and Colby met on Harry’s concert when he was singung ‘kiwi’ so you thought it would be a perfect announcement song since it had those magical ‘i’m having your baby’ words and you two already thought of this song as yours since you danced together to it just a few seconds after exchanging your names.

So here you were, placing the smallest pair of converses you could find in a beige gift bag with a llama on it and preparing the song on your phone so when you play it, it would immediately say what you wanted to tell Colby.

Then you waited for your boyfriend to come home from his meeting with Sam.

You were stressed, you weren’t sure how he would react to these news. Yes, you talked about kids but you didn’t plan on having them so fast.

You started overthinking if you really should tell him about the little human growing in your belly but before you could coward out, Colby was already walking into your sharing apartment.

“Hi babe." Colby walked to you and kissed you, then he noticed the bag in your hands “Did I forgot about something?” he looked unsure.

“No, no.” you assured him shaking your head “I just have something to tell you.”

He looked at you with raised brows but took the gift bag from your hands and started opening it, taking out the paper you used to cover the shoes.

You quickly turned on your phone and got ready to click the play button in right moment.

When you saw Colby reaching for the shoes you clicked the button so when Colby finally took out shoes from the bag and was looking at them with confusion, room was filled with Harry’s voice singing “I’m having your baby.”

You quickly stopped the music after these words and looked at Colby for his reaction.

“Wha…” he couldn’t comprehend what just happened at first but then he started getting it. Little, baby sized shoes and the song’s words. He was going to be a dad. “Really?” he asked quietly and you could see amazement in his eyes.

“Yeah.” you whispered, not fully trusting your voice not to break. “We’re having a baby.”

Colby was silent for a moment just looking at the shoes in his hands but then he looked at you with a little smile and watered eyes.

You reciprocated his smile and opened your arms for him and he quickly took the opportunity and hugged you tightly.

“God, I’m so happy right now.” Colby was whispering, his voice choked by a sob.

“Me too.” you hugged him tighter. “Sam’s gonna go crazy.” Colby laughed at your words and nodded agreeing with them.

“I can’t wait to tell him that. God, he’s gonna be an uncle.” He looked in your eyes with a big smile and then kissed you. “We are going to be parents.”

“Yeah, we are.” you kissed him again.
