it's not any kind of groundbreaking or secret analysis to say the Daylight MV might be about Harry's public persona being performative, about him playing the clown on a public stage for us, but it being the theme of 4 of his last 6 videos... I mean. it's kind of a lot! I want to say "we get it Harry! what we're seeing is a performance!" but of course a lot of people DON'T get it; I feel like it's the central Harry Styles dilemma, the conflict between his need for privacy and to keep some things just for himself and his yearning also to be seen for who he is and understood. But then again! Maybe it's not about telling us- maybe it's just that that is so overwhelmingly the reality and day to day of his life that it is the main thing he has to express in his art, what comes out over and over when he sits down to consider what he has to share...

LOVE LOVE LOVE short n sweet wins #1 for the cuntiest most unhinged lyrics. basically sabrina carpenter is the dreamiest girl with the dreamiest voice.

here's my perfect ranking (excluding espresso and please please please):

sharpest tool | where's the hype for the best track on short n sweet? it's not being talked about enough BUT that's fine, i'll gatekeep. anyway, you're so hot and perfect if this is your #1. hear me out, it's very maisie x harry, it's bugging me that i can't pinpoint how but it just makes sense somehow. intro is heavenly, chorus is gorgeous, just perfect.

juno | pop fucking perfection. so close to replicating the serotonin I get from listening to guilty as sin? which says a lot because i am still addicted to that song. literally to die for, sabrina outdid herself with this one

lie to girls | sister to boyfriends by harry styles iykyk. self-explanatory. LOOOOOOOOVE

bed chem | "where art thou? why not uponeth me?" was all I needed to hear for this to be top 5. it's hot, flirty, and fun

slim pickins | okay dolly parton!!! she sounds insane!!! relate too this one too hard & it's not fair

don't smile | she's so petty and i love her for it. scrumptious track. i know i'll be ranking this one higher eventually. 100% sure it's going to be one of the most underrated songs of the album

dumb & poetic | short n sweet literally. should've been longer and vocals like honey. we needed more songs like this one!!!!

taste | ....mv makes it 100000/10 because they're both perfect gorgeous stunning and i do like it but it's just not a song i'd play on my own

overall i'm obsessed, infinite gold stars for how witty and fun she is. i don't know how to describe it other than that it's the perfect getting ready album. very high energy and girly. just imagine doing your makeup and hair while blasting this (unreal). BUT BUT BUT i won't lie, other than my top 3, i wouldn't really seek out any of these songs to replay over and over yk. i really REALLY wish we got more ballads and songs that showed just how powerful her vocals really are. and even though i know i wasn't wow'ed by most songs, i know they'd all be 10/10 live because she's an insane performer and the atmosphere would be dreamlike (kind of like tpwk by harry, i never ever ever play that song but live it was probably one of my favorites because of the energy). anyway don't come for me, i really do like it. I can't wait to listen to it as I walk through campus

“Everyone we know understands why it’s meant to be.” People are noticing what they think might be an eyeroll from Hot Priest with Fleabag’s Phoebe Wallerbridge also applauding. They were assuming it’s cuz he’s Joe’s good friend, but I hypothesize they are haylors cuz Phoebe is obviously a mutual friend. She starred in TPWK mv with dear Harry.

To add to my last ask about the similarities between the TPWK MV and the TTPD production/set design...the long road/desert highway visuals at the beginning of the set look awfully similar to the IKYWT MV I think.

OMG thank you for this ask! Since Red all road lyrics are Haylor. And there are so many road visuals including Begin Again, IKYWT, Run TV, Style, Getaway Car Tour Visuals, Illicit Affairs, the Style Head is on a road in the Fortnight MV and the TTPD Eras intro. It may be related to the cars theme, or perhaps about a long situationship with beginnings, partings and a long journey

These articles about the art inside his house are so funny to me because I remember when the TPWK mv bts was “leaked” and there was a clip taken inside his house and it looked an absolute mess. Couch all crooked with shoes underneath, picture frames placed randomly, just a bunch of random shit in random places. It wasn’t even giving bachelor pad or man-cave, just stuff tossed inside with no thought behind it. So to be bragging about the art inside as if his house is some artsy villa is very hilarious to me, lol.

but god! this is the side of him that is so deathly embarrassing. the entire thing is him trying to be boyishly cute and charming, except he's some middle aged straight guy trying to do a queer aesthete. that initial thing with him and the make up brush. that's how people play with children. he is mentally just a child in the worst way because he's been so coddled in private he has never had to learn how to be interesting, charming or an adult. being the little cutesy baby boy has always been his thing and it's all he has. it's unbearable.

but all this footage has is stuff from studios and things, so i don't think this shows his house? i remember olivia showing his ugly pink stairs.

Short answer: yes, of course. I think all of them. How could they not have been?

Longer answer:

First of all, I need to lead by saying that I think that ALL BUT 4 songs of H’s post-Up All Night discography (lyric credits, song writing credits) are partially or entirely about Blondie. If you are curious: Carolina, Cherry, TPWK, Cinema.

And by girlfriends, I mean the women who got close enough to him to suspect/know. And there have not been many. CR and OW, and KJ had to know.

And listen to his songs, and look at the MVs that he continues to put out. And the way he selects songs for his concert setlist and pairs songs in concert (like the Two Ghosts into Falling for the Fall 2021 HSLOT concerts, as well as the finale). And his skin! Tattoos he has said he doesn’t regret and he has not removed are like a shrine to his feelings for her.

And the generous way he has always and still speaks about her. The goofy smile he still gets when her name comes up in interviews. His demeanour when he approached her at the 2021 Grammys!

If that were *my* romantic partner, hoo boy. I would not feel super secure.

And while this is total spec, I wonder if intimidation on OW’s part is what motivated the Ol*v*a tattoo. My guess is that it is from early-ish in that relationship (when H thought Blondie was on the way to marrying YB). During the time when he was writing LOML and Cinema and As It Was. When he was like “I have to move on.”

Which…well…you know my thoughts (based on observation of things like concerts and recent MVs) there. That fleeting feeling passed.
