Cheltenham Academy is as extravagant and over the top as the students that attend it.

Ruled by two separate cliques of elite and socially dubbed “mean girls,” the halls of Cheltenham Academy reach warzone-like status with mass casualties on a near daily basis. Healthy competition can only encourage students to strive to be their best at every aspect of their lives. Here, students’ personal bank accounts boast higher numbers than their teachers’ yearly salaries. The students acquire designer uniforms, drive the most expensive cars, and party harder than rockstars. However, life at Cheltenham Academy is not all Louboutin and platinum cards. Secrets lurk around every corner, but they do not stop with the students. The very teaching staff itself are not at all what they appear to be either. From sometimes violent pasts to shady presents, the teachers at Cheltenham Academy are doing more than just “shaping” young minds.

In December of 2012, the world as we knew it ended. It didn’t end in a fiery crash like everyone suspected. The end of humanity was their own ignorance. The L1S1 started off as just the common cold. First signs of the virus were a runny nose and a small headache. The most severe case reported before the epidemic was a 35 year old who got a cough and fever along with common symptoms. The L1S1 virus was nothing to be feared and was nothing the government thought to try to combat. Everything changed when suddenly people who had been diagnosed with L1S1 were suddenly took a turn for the worst. Cities started crumbling in on themselves as more and more people got infected. The government tried to control the symptoms by creating a cure, known as the SuperHuman Virus (or SHV) to save humanity, which had very dire consequences. Anyone given this cure met one of two fates. They either died a horrific, painful death or later developed powers. Those who developed powers were sent to cities to live in and be tested. Everyone wanted to know how their DNA worked and why they weren’t killed so tests were done to try to figure all this out. The SuperHumans, tired of being treated like test subjects, rebelled against their city leaders and developed safe havens for people with powers. Now, 2 years after the start of the infection, Hazel Run thrives in the great state of South Carolina as a city hidden away from the rest of the world. Surround by magic that keeps regular Humans out, Hazel Run is the perfect paradise for any SuperHuman. Can the city keep running smoothly with a traitor in their mist, or will everything come crumbling down around Hazel Run residents like so many other cities before it?
