This is the diary of Ryder Lynn. He’s 22+ and originally from UTP.  He’s a Baseball player for the Los Angeles Angels, and he is currently OPEN.

Growing up, Ryder Lynn was never an overachiever. But he wasn’t a slacker either. It could’ve been the small town that he was raised in or the pressure to simply blend in with those around him. Still, Ryder always had the desire to be more than just another face in the crowd. He wanted to stand out. Ryder wanted to be remembered, he just wasn’t sure how.

It was late after practice in high school, as he worked to get his technique a little better, that Ryder believed he found it. The perfect avenue to be more than, to be remembered. It was baseball. Ryder felt the sport was his calling. It was his one passion in life that allowed him to be, to feel as close to free as possible - everytime he put on his cleats, grabbed his glove and crossed over the field. The sport, Ryder felt, was his solace. And while he wasn’t the greatest, it certainly earned him a ticket from his podunk hometown into a decent college on an athletic scholarship.

But still, it wasn’t enough. At least that’s how Ryder felt when he hadn’t caught the attention to major league teams in his junior and senior of college. He wasn’t causing enough stir to even be mentioned as a possibilty for the MLB drafts of those years. Frustrated and with a degree behind his name, Ryder considered that maybe he wasn’t greatness material. Perhaps he would only be just ordinary. Until a call came. It wasn’t much. It certainly wasn’t from a major league team. But it was something. The Salt Lake Bees, a minor league team, wanted him.

Ryder worked his way up the ranks and diligently made his way to a starting position there. It was Ryder’s determination, along with his love and talent for the game that got him noticed by the team’s major league affiliation. And when he was met with the offer of being brought onto their roster, Ryder immediately agreed, more than ready to quiet the doubts of being ordinary that still haunted him.

Los Angeles, Ryder found, was a different world entirely. And so was his new team, the Angels. Back in Salt Lake, while Ryder wasn’t the best, his enthusiasm for the game more than made up for it. But in LA, the amount of talent around him was stifling. Every position was held by a guy who more than deserved his spot. Ryder felt he might as well had been the water boy, especially since joining he had yet to see much playing time. His doubts returned with a vengeance and he turned towards a talent booster. One that wouldn’t show up on any tests the Angels’ medical team would have him take. Steriods. And while Ryder wasn’t a starter yet, his dream of greatness was in his sights and he wouldn’t stop until he reached it. Regardless of how he got there.

This is the diary of Sam Evans. He’s 22+ and originally from UTP.  He’s an Adult Film Director, and he is currently OPEN.

Sam Evans’ backstory was pretty simple. He was the oldest of three, he was born and raised in a loving family. The only thing that marred the picture was that he came from nothing. His father worked tirelessly and his mother did the same but as far as Sam could remember, he was raised living from paycheck to paycheck. And sometimes, even less than that. By the age of nine, anytime a new toy came out, Sam learned to never ask for it. Mainly because, chances were, he wasn’t going to see it come Christmas anyways. No matter how good he’d been that year. But still, every year, in the smallest corner of his heart, Sam would hope with all the naive faith that a child could have.

It wasn’t that Sam didn’t love his family or the ideals that they instilled in him. He just wanted more. Sam knew that he could be more than the cycle of poverty around him. He didn’t want to struggle to just live like his parents. Sam wanted to thrive, to be successful. And Hollywood, with all its glamour and wealth, interested him. It had ever since he was a kid. Movies were Sam’s choice of escape. He loved seeing people different from him, watching their lives break apart or build together with the right pieces. Sam had always been more of a visual guy, so films helped him in more ways than one.

After trudging his way through high school and all the horrible wonders that included being a poor, lanky guy that wore obvious thrift store clothing and loved movies, especially those of the science fiction and action varierty, Sam saved towards his dream - Hollywood. It took him a few years and a ton of not so great jobs but eventually, Sam moved. When he arrived, he wasn’t sure what his next move would be - logically speaking. It was later, nearly a year into barely making it in the city, that Sam bought his first video camera. He fell in love. After that, Sam was sure to never be seen without it. He would post clips of his work on others’ productions on Youtube. Sometimes his work would get views. It was during one of those times that he was messaged about a potential new gig. It was based, like most of his work, in Los Angeles and the pay was an upgrade to what he usually made. Without hesitation, Sam said yes. 

It wasn’t until Sam stepped on set, having done no research into what he signed on for, that he realized where he was. A porn set. Luckily, no legal documents had been signed and he’d only agreed to be the director’s assistant and was free to walk off, without pay, and still keep his morals. However, it was the money that gave Sam pause. He more than needed the income - memories of life back home made sure Sam knew. Los Angeles was an expensive city and everybody wanted to make it to Hollywood. It was the dream. That was months ago and Sam’s title progressed from assistant to director. It wasn’t that Sam was ashamed of what he did, especially not with the money he made. But it still gave him enough pause to not tell his family what he did exactly. Or, in fact, at all as they were still in the dark. He was living in his dream city, making the big bucks and directing, Sam Evans should’ve been happy. However, reality continued to have Sam pause and question exactly what it was that he was doing. His answer was simple, not living hand to mouth like his family were. Something that Sam was damned to never go back to again.

This is the diary of Finn Hudson. He’s 22+ and originally from UTP.  He’s a Drummer for UTP, and he is currently OPEN.

Finn Hudson was always second best. All throughout his life, he could recall being second at everything. In school, he was the first to get his growth spurt, but it caused him to seem as if he were different and often thought to be older than the other students. He may have been first to grow, yet he was never the first picked for any of the trivial elementary school games. At home, he wasn’t second, but he felt ignored. His parents had gone through a divorce early on in his life. Finn’s mother worked hard to support the two of them, and his father quickly remarried and devoted all of his attention to his second family. It was safe to say that Finn learned the feeling of loneliness early on in his life.

To cope with this sense of loneliness, Finn used music as his getaway. More specifically, learning to play the drums was where he put all of his emotions and focus. With his mother always away, playing the drums as loud as he wanted wasn’t a problem. When she was home, and the urge to play hit him, he always tapped away in a quieter manner, not wanting to disturb the woman that had worked so hard to keep a roof over their heads. It wasn’t long before Finn and his drum sticks were inseparable. No matter what, he always tended to have a cadence in his head and at times would tap out a beat regardless of where he was.

In high school, Finn met a kindred spirit that was a musician as well. He too was a drummer and the pair became fast friends. This newfound friend had offered to invite Finn to join his band. Of course the spot of drummer was already taken, and Finn was named the backup drummer and unofficial production manager. That title basically meant that if ever the band had a gig, he made sure the equipment was set up and ready to go when the band was ready to take the stage. It gave Finn the sense of being second best once more, being someone’s backup, but the band and his new best friend never treated him as such. They were all dreamers and they all had high hopes for the band, which Finn knew if ever they were to make it big, he’d be on the outside looking in at the group.

As the band gained more notoriety locally, and more views on their social media outlets, Finn grew jealous of the group. On one ill-fated night that the band had gotten the offer to record at a very small independent record label, they’d gone out to celebrate, and tragedy struck with Finn in the driver’s seat. After having a little too much to drink, but still less than his band mates, Finn got behind the wheel of  car, getting into a single car accident. Finn made it out with a few broken bones, but his best friend wasn’t so lucky. The backup drummer had to live with the fact that because of him, his best friend had lost his life that day. It took the band some time to rally, and this time with Finn at the drum set. At times, he can’t decide if what he’d done was an accident or if it were on purpose. Nevertheless, he still didn’t feel deserving of the spot in the band.

This is the diary of Kurt Hummel. He’s 22+ and originally from UTP.  He’s a Fashion Designer, and he is currently OPEN.

Kurt Hummel had always been fashion savvy. From a very young age, and with his very first Barbie, Ken, and even J.I. Joe, he’d dressed them in nothing but the best. When the best didn’t satisfy him, and he was old enough to wield a pair of scissors, needles, and thread, he made them clothes that better suited his tastes. After a while, Kurt began making his own clothes.  He’d never lacked for anything, and even in his single parent home could afford to wear nothing less than designer everything. Kurt still put his spin on it. Anyone could rock a label, but Kurt wanted to be the one they remembered wearing it.  

Throughout high school, Kurt had been involved in theater clubs, plays and the like and with every musical put on, he spearheaded the costume design department. Making costumes and clothing was like art to him, getting lost in the whirring of the sewing machine was calming. It took him to a place of peace and serenity. Creating something that could change a person with just the right piece, brought joy to Kurt. He’d always make Kurt Hummel original pieces for his friends, and even had plans with one of them to open up their own boutique shop. When - not if - their designs gained recognition. She would design the women’s clothing, and he the men’s line and they’d split the profits of the boutiques almost evenly. Kurt would take ten percent less due to the fact that the idea wasn’t his own.

The pair were serious and dedicated to their passion, graduating from high school and attending the Academy of Couture Art in Beverly Hills, CA . This school was a couture fashion college. The private school prices were high, but to see them follow their dreams, their families were nothing but supportive. The competition in a school such as this had been steep, and cut throat but they’d survived it with Bachelor’s degrees in Fashion Design. Kurt went the extra mile double majoring in fashion design and pattern design as well. He figured if their boutique didn’t work out, he might as well have an edge over his friend if need be. During their time at the academy, they’d had the opportunity to design for and network with many high profile people. Their designs were a hit and it was easy for them to gain financial backing for their joint fashion line. With sales steadily on the climb, a boutique was the next step.  They were young, hot designers on the rise and Kurt was truly living his dream. That was until the downward slope of economy began to hit their clothing line as well.

Kurt was the first to get the news from the financial department of the company. He was plagued with a difficult decision. He could tell a tiny white lie about the projected sales and keep their investors, or tell the truth, that their sales were declining, and watch the investors take their money and run. Kurt cared about their company, he put his blood, sweat, and tears into every stitch of it, so he didn’t see the harm in telling just embellishing the truth this once. They’d obviously sale more later, surely they would. Little did Kurt know that later they’d be audited and every little embellishment had come to the light and because the signatures on the forms were his friend’s, Kurt wasn’t at fault for the criminal act. Kurt said nothing when the questions came up of who signed off on the falsehoods and over projected sales. Kurt watched his friend and business partner go to jail for something he did. They had to sell their company, and because the investors lost their money as well, Kurt decided to liquidate all of his assets and give back to each and every one of them. It left him nearly penniless, but that still didn’t help the feeling of guilt he felt for his business partner.

Now, with a guilty conscience, a clean slate and the will to never give up, Kurt wanted to try again – on his own this time. He could make new designs, build back up the integrity he had had once before, and if he could find just one investor that believed in his work, he could make something of himself once more. He just hoped that with this new beginning, no one ever found out that he was behind the fraud. He was the one that verbally signed off on things, and if they did, that they wouldn’t send him to jail for it. Everything Kurt did from here on, felt like a lie, a façade, but he had to keep pressing forward.

This is the diary of Santana Lopez. She’s 22+ and originally from UTP.  She’s a Radio Personality, and she is currently OPEN.

Santana Lopez grew up around music. It was a familiar constant. In the Lopez home, it wasn't unusual to hear a string of music, no matter how diverse the genre, playing. Her grandfather had a love of music, his tastes ranging from bolero to mariachi and even American country songs and doo wop. Her grandmother, a former dancer, loved Latin jazz, salsa and cumbia. While her father, a composer and musician, favorited the likes of blues and hard rock artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana - the musician’s band whom she was named after. And her mother, while not as musically inclined as her husband and mother, loved rhythm and blues, bachata and 80’s pop. Surrounded by such, it came as no surprise that Santana loved music as much as her family. 

Santana favored making mixed cd’s and playlists. She loved discovering new artists and indulging herself in their sound, seeing them grow over time in their music. She preferred introducing others to new music, to genres they said they'd never liked, and watching them find exceptions to their old tastes. And in college, after consulting with her academic advisor, Santana declared Communications as her major. It was during her sophomore through senior years that Santana worked at her university’s radio station. There she felt at home, like she'd found what she wanted to do with her life - be on radio. 

It took a few internships and relocation to Los Angeles that brought Santana closer towards her dream - having her own show. A few months into a break on one of her shifts, Santana was joking around and mentioned a wild hookup from a few days before. At her co host’s suggestion and a few call ins from listeners, Santana told it on air. The story wasn't in graphic detail and barely registered on PG-13 in her opinion. Still, the higher ups at her job didn't think so. It was different, a woman sharing her sexual exploits publicly. It was also controversial. And after having to hear that she might not be a good fit for the station, Santana was placed on suspension, with her career with the station to be assessed while she was away.

During that time, Santana was propositioned by another station in Los Angeles, ALT 98.7. The sound bite of Santana discussing her hookup continued to gain attention and one of 98.7 hosts’ felt she'd make a good addition to his late night show. But there was a catch, they loved the material they heard and wanted more. The producers of the show wanted to make it Santana’s thing. With her meeting at the other station looming, Santana accepted 98.7′s offer and quit at her old job before she was given the formality firing. Her new gig was nice, great even. She meshed well with her co host and had even gotten her own segment on the show, Sexy Times with Snix. She did it every Saturday through Monday night during the show’s midnight to six am slot. However, Santana questioned her budding success and wondered if it was truly helping her career and professional image. Or harming it. Still, she continued, the show had to go on and she had yet to fulfill her dream. Something that she was determined to achieve regardless.

“I’m not a princess this ain’t a fairytale. I’m not the one you’’ll sweep off her feet lead her up the stairwell.”

This is the diary of Rachel Berry. She’s 22+ and originally from UTP.  She’s a News Anchor, and she is currently OPEN.

From a very young age, Rachel Berry knew that she was destined to be - a star. The moment she stepped on a stage at age 5 in her elementary school play, she could say that acting was something that she could spend the rest of her life doing. Every moment since then, she worked on her craft. Her parents had countless videos  of their very theater involved daughter from every single year of her life. For Rachel, being an actress ceased to be a dream, it was a reality yet to come to fruition, but it would. Of that she was sure. All of her life she’d been working toward the moment that she could go to college, fine tune her skills, and show the world just how much of a star Rachel Berry was.

After being top of her class in high school, and having talent that shone brighter than a shooting star, Rachel was accepted to Juilliard. It was there that she had to learn to grow thick skin and trust no one. With everyone being so competitive and driven,  the aspiring actress realized that not everyone there was her friend, and some that pretended to be were simply that so that they could ride the coattails of her future fame. It was no matter to Rachel that friends were in short supply, beacause in high school she was used to being more career focused than making friends.  When her classmates were out partying, she was studying, always studying, critiquing herself and fine tuning her skills. She always imagined that friends would come later.

Once she’d graduated from Juilliard, Rachel moved to Los Angeles, following up leads on TV Shows and acting opportunities. While there, she managed to snag jobs in commercials, infomercials, and from there she advanced to playing extras on popular television shows and movies. Sure, it wasn’t the big acting roles she wanted, but she had to start somewhere. It was on the set of one of those movies that she’d met the man that would change her life forever. Brody Weston (NPC) was the star of  what was expected to be the biggest blockbuster of the year, and Rachel had gotten the opportunity and chance of a lifetime to be the extra that actually got to bump into him in the scene. It was from there that sparks flew.

Brody and Rachel began dating shortly after, and almost a year into their relationship he proposed, which Rachel eagerly accepted. They were Hollywood’s “It” couple – Brody, the famous actor, and Rachel Berry, his beautiful wife. Being the wife of a movie star got Rachel the life she’d always wanted, rubbing elbows with the rich and the famous, and it even got her a few small and short-lived roles and guest appearances on TV shows. With interviews and the high life there at her fingertips, Rachel somewhere lost sight of her dreams, and instead her dreams morphed into Brody’s dreams. She played happy homemaker and loving wife to the actor, and soon her aspirations were lost in the fray.

After two years of marriage, that life started to fizzle along with their marriage. Accusations of Brody’s infidelity in tabloids and in whispers from so called friends put a strain on their marriage, and instead of working it out, Brody decided to end things with Rachel, due to (according to him) her insecurities. In all reality, the divorce was a way for him to save his image and destroy Rachel’s, painting her as an insecure wife that couldn’t handle the Hollywood life.  The divorce left Rachel with next to nothing, due to signing a prenuptial agreement to prove that his money wasn’t what she was after. Rachel found that she only had one friend that she could count on, and that friend was the one that let her crash in their spare room, and pulled many strings to get her a job at a local new station as a part time newscaster. It wasn’t the job that she wanted, but one to help her get on her feet. Rachel had lost herself, and with a job, and a somewhat steady income she set out to find the dreamer that she’d lost along the way.
