Thanks to 🍸 @todays_tipple • • • • • I saw @holycityhandcraft make a little riff on a Tequila Sunrise recently and decided to get on the ombré hype myself. Keeping the recipe pretty true to it’s original but changing up the grenadine a touch and bringing in some Mezcal along with the tequila. . Bloodshot Eyes - 30ml Blanco Tequila - 30ml Mezcal - 100ml Fresh Orange Juice - 15ml Fresh Lime Juice Build all ingredients over crushed ice in a tall glass. Give a little stir but make sure you have a bit of space at the top. Then drizzle 15ml of ‘grenadine’ over the top and let it sink to the bottom of the drink. Finish by adding a dome of crushed ice on top. . For the Grenadine, I combined equal parts of fresh pomegranate juice and Campari then dissolved 1.5 parts of sugar into the mix. This made a bright red, fruity syrup that works where grenadine does but adds an extra note of bitterness and dry orange notes. Perfect for this drink. . Thanks to 🍸 @cocktail.kitchen • • • • • Peach Sage Fizz⁣ -⁣ • 2 oz Sipsmith London Dry Gin⁣ • .75 oz Lemon Juice⁣ • .5 oz Peach Sage Syrup⁣ • .75 oz Egg White⁣ • Cold Seltzer⁣ ⁣ • Combine all ingredients except the seltzer in a tin and dry shake.⁣ • Add a large chunk of ice, shake hard double time, and strain. ⁣ • Let settle for 2 minutes then add cold seltzer until foam rises above glass and garnish with a sage leaf.⁣ -⁣ Peach Sage Syrup⁣⁣⁣ Boil a cup of water with 6-8 fresh sage leaves until water reduces at least in half. Remove peel and pit from a ripe peach and blend with a bit of water. Fine strain and add to sage water. Let cook over medium heat for a 3-5 minutes and weigh. Add 1/2 that weight in sugar to the mixture and stir over low heat until all sugar crystals have dissolved.
