"Mom? Is everything okay..?"

Pepperfrost perks up somewhat at the sound of her kit's voice. Elmpaw was perhaps the most perceptive of her brood, and she wasn't surprised that he approached her. She must have seemed awfully upset.

"I'm alright," She sighed finally. "I'm just... relieved that Birchshine's litter wound up alright, after all of this. I couldn't help worrying."

Elmpaw visibly hesitated. Pepperfrost could see the thoughts churn in his head- 'how am I supposed to respond to this?' She almost wanted to take the words back. She'd said way too much, as per usual.

"...This is about Berrykit, isn't it?"

Ah. Pepperfrost couldn't help wincing. She was supposed to be the adult in this situation. How could she let her son read her so easily? But his eyes were so kind, as kind as they always were; they were his father's eyes, through and through, and it was times like this that she longed for her mate's presence.

"I'll be alright," She responded again, more sure of herself this time. "I just needed a few minutes to myself, that's all."

Silence followed. Though her son was quiet as always, some things didn't need to be said out loud. He was here for her, just as her other two remaining kits were.

"...Do you need a hug?"

"...That sounds great right about now."

Elmpaw only slightly hesitated before nuzzling his face into Pepperfrost's fur, keeping her warm against the last remnants of leaf-bare that still hung in the air.

She would always long for what could've been. Maybe she'd never stop staring at new mothers with healthy litters with such jealousy and longing. But for now, she could only support the clan, as a good warrior... no, as a good deputy should.

Under the watchful eye of the Forest Spirit, Birchshine gives birth to four kits.

Kitten 1 is male and born healthy. He is Non-Destructive and Clueless.

Kitten 1 receives the name Horizonkit in the hopes of a new era for LightClan.

Kitten 2 is female and born frail. She is Playful and Adventurous.

Kitten 2 receives the name Hopekit in the hopes of a long, happy life.

Kitten 3 is male and born frail. He is Neat and Proud.

Kitten 3 receives the name Sunkit for a bright future.

Kitten 4 is female and born sickly. She is Adventurous and a Hunter.

Kitten 4 receives the name Dawnkit for a bright future.

Pepperfrost is feeling a bit jealous of Birchshine's litter, resulting in her acting a bit more distant.

She tries to cope by spending more time with her own kits.

Sitting and sorting through the recently-collected herbs, Stormflower remained silent and focused on her work as always. Pepperfrost watched, wondering idly how a cat could be so focused on a single task... but, overall, she was grateful.

"...I'm sorry for getting cocky," She mewed finally, ears flattened. "You were right. Leaf-bare isn't a safe time to have kits, and... you were just trying to warn me. You were right."

The spotted healer's tail twitched for a moment, and she turned her head to look over her shoulder.

"It's alright. You're young." Stormflower shrugged, returning to her work. "I only wish I could have gotten back in time for your kitting. I'm sorry for your loss.

"N-No, I should be... I should be thanking you!" Pepperfrost's voice was practically a squeak compared to Stormflower's calm, contemplative tone. "You risked your safety to save my sister's life, and she's still here because of it!"

"I only did what any reliable healer would do."

"It's still amazing. Besides... what happened to Berrykit wasn't your fault. It... It wasn't anyone's fault. It just happened. And, like, of course part of me is going to hurt forever, knowing she might've been a great warrior one day, but..."

Adjusting her position from her nest, Pepperfrost took a moment to stare down and admire the three remaining kits huddled at her belly.

"...I still have three left. And they'll shine even brighter. For her."

"That's a wonderful sentiment, Pepperfrost," The healer mused with a quiet hum. "Thank you. I promise you that Berrykit will be well cared for among the stars."

"That's reassuring!" Pepperfrost let out a quiet, awkward laugh. "I'm still not sure about all the Star Cat business, but Lilacdream has been trying to teach me."

"That's good. A warrior should understand the significance of the clan's ancestors."

Pepperfrost decided not to point out that she, as well of most of the clan at the moment, didn't have clan ancestors. It was only Lightrunner and Stormflower now.

The healer seemed to sense the awkward tension, because she quickly changed the subjects.

"So... you've already named them all, then?"

"I have," Pepperfrost purred, excited to share about her new litter. "There's Berrykit, of course, and then..."

While the herb patrol is on their expedition, Pepperfrost gives birth to four kits.

Kitten 1 is female and a stillborn. Pepperfrost is grieving.

Kitten 1 receives the name Berrykit after joining the ranks of StarClan.

Kitten 2 is male. He is Skittish and Quiet.

Kitten 2 receives the name Elmkit, in honor of the elm forest that the clan calls home (and his father, Elmer).

Kitten 3 is female and born sickly. She is Non-Destructive and Proud.

Kitten 3 receives the name Sleetkit, in honor of the icy leaf-bare in which the litter was born.

Kitten 4 is female. She is Quiet and a Hunter.

Kitten 4 receives the name Flowerkit, in honor of Stormflower, who saved Lilacdream's life shortly after the kits were born.

With the fresh herbs from the greenhouse gardens, Stormflower treats Lilacdream's Sickness. Lilacdream will make a full recovery.

Lilacdream must recuperate before she can continue her duties.

Sometimes I think the paintings in TS2 are limited. As cute as the photos of dogs and cats are, they're just that - photos. So, to take matters into my own hands, I realised that the absolute perfect solution would be to add all of the Sims 4 paintings to the Sims 2. And what do you know, @noksims had extracted all of them! More info and download under the cut.

I also wanted a few extras, and while perusing reddit I found some AI oil paintings of various sim-related things such as some grilled cheese for Natasha Una, or beautiful Cassandra Goth paintings for Darren Dreamer to lovingly paint. I also added my personal favourites, paintings by u/mete0ryt on reddit. They do fantastic, sim-related oil paintings.

All of these files have been resized to approximately 400x250 (or close enough if I could), which is small enough for your game to load the paintings while still keeping decent quality. As a side note, some of these paintings are either square (so they should be approximately 400x400) or landscape, which means you MUST have a variation on Anoeska's Painting Easels Superset if you don't want them to be weirdly squooshed. I use @fracturedmoonlight's Painting Preferences, as you can see in the preview.

There are 385 (!!!) paintings in this folder altogether, so it comes out to 58mb. You can of course pick and choose, as they're only PNGs. I have separated them into size categories - i.e, if it is named "mabstract" it is a medium abstract painting in TS4, whereas if it is named "simp" it is a small impressionist painting in TS4. Did I do that one for the joke? Kind of. Some of the paintings are unlabelled in the archive I got from noksims, so they're named things like a simple "I don't know". You can refer back to their post if you're confused! Some of my favourites are the 'sketch' paintings, I think they look great in an artists room as little anatomy sketches they have cluttered around. As you can see, I've paired them above with a conversion from the Sims 4 Artist Studio kit.

Do not put these in your downloads folder! These will go in your EA Games/Sims 2/Paintings folder.

HOHENZOLLERN ALLEE 72-76

a German-inspired 1950s apartment build + a furnished flat

A build download that was in the works for almost a month and made me realise how much I love building local architecture even though it's not the easiest within the constraints of TS4.

It's meant to represent a realistic German apartment build, that is a bit run down and yet still feels homey and nostalgic to those of us growing up near or in these buildings. There's one furnished flat that is ideal for 2-3 sims and furnished in a retro 60s-90s look, that I hope you'll enjoy! This is also a BIG 1K followers gift, with which I want to show my deepest appreciation to all my followers, thank you so much!!

First a little history/backstory to this build:

This build is something you'd see very often in Middle to Northern Europe, less so in the UK, because brick builds there look similar but also different and I based my build off of Northern German brick builds.

The red brick used for these builds dominates the townscapes in quite a few cities where I live and has been used for a few centuries (see Brick Gothic). This build that I based on a real building, however, is more modern and was probably built after WW2, as the design choices, like using tiles on the facades of brick builds is something distinctively 1950s. I know there are older examples, but these buildings usually have more design and decor elements on the facades. These red brick builds were built en masse starting with the 1920s and were usually meant for low-income households. The same goes for the 1950s brick builds, which were built on top of ruins of older buildings destroyed in the war and oftentimes were cheaply constructed and usually don't receive the same appreciation that older pre-war brick builds get, so quite a few are already being demolished for more modern builds.

So what do you get with this build?

Hohenzollernallee 72-76 is a 40x30 lot that I placed in Evergreen Harbor on the Sprucewood Square lot. I created 2 versions of the building, one as a normal residential lot and another as a residential rental. Just choose whatever you want! There are 6 different flats, that have been renovated at different times, which is apparent from the condition of their kitchen and bathroom.. Each flat has its own basement room and the garden is shared between all tenants and there's a shared laundry room in the basement as well.

You'll also have a restaurant shell, the Burger Lab that is not functional currently, but you could make it so if you want.

The furnished flat is playtested and ideal for 2-4 sims max and is heavily 'lived in', meaning very cluttered. I personally see an older woman living there, whose husband already died and her daughter left as soon she turned 18, but the interior was never changed or renovated. I don't know, you could probably come up with a lot of story ideas!

CC is mostly included. You'll find an Excel file with the specific file names and the dl link for all CC that is not included. The build will probably still look okay-ish without the excluded CC but I strongly recommend downloading it, if you do not already have it.

Strange Recolors + Alien Freezer Bunny Guitar

I just finished my first cc! I made some recolors to match StrangerVille's alien plants to decorate my new sim's house and I thought it would be nice to share it!
