Spencer had been doing this for a long time, he was used to coming home late - if at all - bloodied and bruised. The constant fear for his life had dulled over time. Of course, it was something he still worried about, especially when it impacted his friends and family, but the guilt wasn’t all consuming anymore.

Earlier that evening Spencer got a tip that the Lizard, also known as Tobias Hankel, had escaped from prison and was running loose across New York City. He remembered the first time Hankel had been a problem, those were not memories he looked back on fondly. Especially because he was too high to remember most of them. This time, he intended to put his years of experience to good use and not get kidnapped and drugged! His plan was relatively successful, it left Hankel beaten on the doorstep of the prison he escaped from and left Spencer feeling only mildly loopy from blood loss.

Landing in the fire escape, he slowly lifted the window pane to his apartment. “Garcia? Are you awake?” Penelope Garcia had figured out about Spencer’s double life pretty quickly, she could always tell what Spencer was thinking. At first she had completely refused to believe it, how on earth could her beanpole of a best friend swing around New York and beat on bad guys? Eventually, her resolve had softened and she swore that she would help in any way she could. Her first suggestion had been to rebrand as “The Boy Wonder”, but that would’ve just got Spencer ridiculed even more so that was an immediate veto. Normally she gathers intel on the people Spiderman is hunting, and sometimes she would stay over to help with the first aid Spencer would inevitably need.

“Spencer?” Her soft, slipper-clad footsteps hurried to the living room (they were pink cats with sparkles on the ears, Spencer had got them for her one Christmas). “Oh my god, Spencer what happened? You look like you were thrown off 12 buildings and mauled by 20 cats, consecutively.”

He shrugged, “you’re close. Although I would have preferred the cats.” Spencer stumbled over to the couch and unceremoniously flopped onto it. “Hankel got out, had to grapple with him to get him to go back. Prison really changes a man, he had a lot more tricks up his sleeve for me.”

“Tobias Han- Spencer,” she moved to stand in front of him, jaw dropped, “Spencer, Tobias-freaking-Hankel escaped and you didn’t tell me? You just went out to fight him, are you crazy? What if he kidnapped you again Spence, no one would know and you would be hurt and alone-”

“Pen, I’m okay, I promise. I didn’t tell you because I knew you would freak out. But I’ve grown a lot since facing him the first time, I wouldn’t have let anything bad happen.” He loved Penelope Garcia with all his heart, but she could worry and work herself up about every little thing. It made him feel so guilty that he added onto it with this whole Spiderman thing. “Look, I’m sorry I kept you blind about it, I will let you know next time. Now, if it’s not too much trouble, could you maybe help me with this.” He gestured down to his thoroughly torn open chest, Hankel had set his claws in deep and the wound was burning.

Spencer watched as Garcia’s eyes followed down to his chest, “Oh my god you’re bleeding out! Spencer this should’ve been the first thing you said! Okay, I’ll get the first aid kit, but oh- Spencer, that looks really bad, we might need to go to the hospital.”

“I’ll be fine, I don’t have super healing for nothing,” he gave her the cheekiest smirk, then softened, “We’ll see after you clean me up, honestly I think you have some superpowers too, I always feel better when you patch me up.”

She narrowed her eyes, failing to hide the beaming grin on her face. Spencer watched as she turned to find the medkit in the bathroom. Sometimes, days like these were hard. Getting beat on by gigantic lizard monsters was never anyone's idea of fun. But it was all worth it when he remembered why he did it. He was eternally grateful for Penelope’s help, she was the most devoted person he had ever met. Without her he probably would be long dead already, New York left without its protector. If she could help patch him up at the end of the day, then he could easily swing around the city, and maybe catch a bad guy or two on the way.

his mother and father fell in love at woodstock, shortly thereafter they bought a van and began travelling across the united states of america sight-seeing and living in between campgrounds. once they had their son they named him after their favourite artist, david bowie, and they raised him on the road. teaching him how to live along nature as well everything they could in the curriculum. he turned out into quite the boy scout and always attracted to the natural world and earthly elements.

after a year of staying at a nice campground, building a community, they decided to leave and go somewhere new for bowie's sixteenth birthday. shortly after celebrating his birthday, bowie would find out he had powers and was a natural born witch taking after his father. and shortly after that, they would disappear to never be seen or heard from again.

five years later he still doesn't have any answers about his parents, though he's upgraded from living out of his van and turning camp caldron bubble into his full-time home. and he refuses to give up hope that his parents are out there, somewhere, and that he will have a reunion with them sooner than later. not only is caldron bubble filled with people similar to him, he's sure that harnessing his magic and his craft will lead him on the path back to his family.

he doesn't let any of these turbulences get him down, one of the most hopefully optimistic people you could meet. though he's reclusive and even quiet in some circumstances, he's a joy that's hard to capsulate once it's properly unleashed. you'll typically find him in the greenhouse rather than his cabin, tending to all manner of plants as well magical flora for the coven.

the case involving alice becker kidnapping & abuse was famous in the 80′s, but quickly faded away in the overwhelming and ever-growing terrible crimes around the country. alice, however, never forgot.

now she’s an adult, a single mother that made sure that her daughter would never feel as helpless as she once felt.

daughter of an survivor, angel had a happy childhood, but it was far from normal. 

on top of being a single working mom ( alice nowadays work as a private detective ), she taught her daughter every skill she judged necessary if she’d ever find herself in need to protect herself.

angel knows self-deffense, how to fight, how to hold a huge number of guns and to never go out unarmed. the first thing she does every time she enters a room is to check for escape routes and some might say she has some serious trusting issues, albeit she rather say she’s cautious.

she barely remember her father, since he left when she was five. all that angel knows is that he wasn’t a nice person and never came back for her, so she forced herself to ignore his whole existence.

despite her trust issues, she tries to be nice to everyone at first, but that changes the exact moment the person becomes a threat to her or her loved ones.

she didn’t believe in supernatural, despite half of her friends being firmly believers, until lizzie appeared.

she’s a jock TM and plays volleyball. she specialized as libero (bc of her height), but she’s also a great outside hitter. her legs are ridiculously strong from jumping high enough to make up for her lack of height.

she gave each riley, rachel, paige and hana a personalized, portable self-defense kit last christmas. who needs friendship bracelets when you have matching self-defense key rings?

                                                ��angel & the rest of the squad:

lizzie: lizzie is the demon terrorizing and hunting angel and her friends, after being summoned in what was supposed to be a fun girls night. the girls made the mistake of playing with a ouija board and forgot to close the link. they never said goodbye and now lizzie is loose on the world.

riley: angel relate to riley more than most people can imagine. they’re both wild kids, but angel is way better at hiding it. they have a lot of common interests and angel often follows enables riley’s bad ideas, going along with every single one of them under the condition that riley brings her along so angel can protect her if needed.

rachel: the ouija board was rachel’s idea, even though she was also the most afraid one when her friends actually accepted it. she’s the official rich friend TM and angel their friendship is one of those that just happens. even with all their differences, they just clicked and quickly became inseparable. 

paige: paige is the reason that angel is in this friend group at all. they dated for a few months and angel slowly saw herself building friendships with paige’s friends. so, when they decided to break up (it was a mutual thing, they decided it was better for them to be just friends), angel stayed around. her love for paige only grew without the pressure of being in a relationship, but now she knows it’s a platonic love. they’re still very close and the only person from whom angel accepts fashion tips is paige, our local punk.

hana: while hana is the mom friend, trying to keep the girls out of trouble and often acting like the voice of reason for the group, angel is the dad friend: the one that doesn’t fight the dumb ideas, but join them to make sure everyone is safe. so, they work greatly together, balancing each other out and taking care of the friend group with a fierceness that’s unique to both of them.

connor: he’s paige’s twin brother and that’s how angel will always see him. which is terrible for connor, since he now has a crush on angel. if that wasn’t enough, connor and riley dated for a while and, while connor has moved on, riley hasn’t. none of this stopped connor from helping when the girls ran to him saying they accidentally summoned a demon. he helped, but not without a proper dose of judgement for the plain dumbness of dealing with forces they didn’t know.
