Down the Rabbit Hole

So Atlyss came out and I've acquired a new hyperfixation. Frankly a bit surprised the game even made it to beta, much less being sold on steam like it is. Good for you, Kiseff!

I ended up taking a whack at drawing my main, a "healer". Not gonna lie, it had a better look in my head and I plan on taking another stab at it with a less shitty pose.

There is a bootleg ripoff of Atlyss on the PSN store right now called Atlyss Legends.

Plagiarizing an INDIE GAME of all things is just lower than low!

That shit needs to be taken down NOW.

A big game company bullying a small indie dev is some heartless shit I'd expect from Nintendo! But now SONY'S doing it!?

I will no longer be supporting Sony. I will no longer be purchasing Sony products, giving money for PSN, or buying anything on Sony's digital store. Sony is not getting one more CENT out of me until they REMOVE Atlyss Legends from their store! The developers of Atlyss Legends are outright PLAGIARIZING the small indie dev known as Kiseff and HIS game Atlyss! And SONY is intending to make MONEY off that! That's NOT COOL!

Media Log 2024 Entry 18 - ATLYSS - 5/5

An honest game, made by an honest developer.

Unfortunately, because this game is in early access, there isn't much to say. However, what little I can say is entirely praise!

ATLYSS is a fantastic action RPG with super tight, free-flowing combat, fun character building with a variety of strategies, and a world that, so far, is very fun to explore. The vibes are off the charts, too - booting it up really felt like starting an old MMO from the 2000s, like Phantasy Star Online. PSO is an apt comparison, actually - they're both action online RPGs that revolve around smaller, more compact areas than larger areas, though ATLYSS has a proper overworld unlike PSO1.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is also an apt comparison for reasons I will not get into here. Kiseff is very honest.

I have enjoyed my time with ATLYSS immensely, and for a while it was the only video game I played until I'd done basically everything with my first character. It's very easy to just hop in, do a little grinding, maybe poke around in some of the public servers - it's very relaxing for an action RPG. That owes in part to the vibes and sound design for sure: the OST is very ambient in the overworld areas, commonly giving way to simple ambience as you whack slimes with a stick.

Speaking of sticks and your stick options, I really like the three classes! They all feel totally unique with no overlap between them, and they can all be built in different ways within the class itself.

My one gripe with the game is some of the enemies - there are some enemies, notably concentrated in the Crescent Grove, the game's current highest-level dungeon, that are really fucking annoying to fight. Twitchy status-inflicting enemies and huge HP sink enemies that don't get stunned are... certainly the results of game design decisions.

Overall, ATLYSS is a really great time! I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an action RPG they can play with friends, horny furry or not. I'm excited to see where the game's going after this, as it's in early access right now. Kiseff, you've done good!

i bought myself atlyss like idk how long ago, but i do enjoy it! what are your thoughts on the upcoming content for atlyss? (fishing, better server management, enchant tweaks, etc.)

i DIDNT KNOW THAT EXISTED OMG. maybe my dream of a webfishing atlyss crossover update will come true... now we just need webfishing to add more fem clothes options
