Hola! Hoy vemos algunos de los patterns y acuarelas de Kirsten Sevig, que vive en Minnesota y es ilustradora y diseñadora, amante de los patterns y el pochoclo. En su cuenta muestra un montón sobre sus procesos y su post más reciente es un video donde recorre las páginas del último diario de acuarelas. Una belleza! Hace muy poco publicó un nuevo libro en formato mini que se llama Striped Pears and Polka Dots - The Art of Being Happy, con un montón de ilustraciones de cosas que la hacen sonreir (y probablemente a quién lo lea también). En sus sitos web cuenta un poco más sobre ella y su historia con anécdotas coloridas y random (cómo se disfruta leer sobre ese lado más humano y real de las personas, les pasa?), y seguramente en base a cientos de preguntas que recibió sobre lo mismo, en la sección de FAQ habla sobre los materiales que usa y sobre cómo empezó a dibujar y pintar. A medida que uno va creando más y más, dice, empiezan a surgir ciertos colores, temas y patrones que se repiten. No hay que forzar un estilo: hacé lo que quieras y como quieras. Continuamente el estilo cambia y evoluciona, y lo importante es mantenerse fiel a uno mismo. Otra cosa muy interesante que aconseja es no inspirarse sólo con artistas contemporáneos: diversificar las fuentes. Mezclar y combinar lo viejo y lo nuevo y elementos de otros intereses para crear algo único distinto al más de lo mismo.
