Meri Kirihimete y'all!! Not a Christmas-themed drawing, but I finished it just before Christmas and figured I'd post it (cross-posted onto Twitter/X also)!

The Green Reptilian Trio™, as a gift 💙

This was a HUGE experiment for me that (officially) started 2nd June and was completed 24th Dec, with an abundance of hours of frustration and pain behind it salfhlas. This was my attempt this year at branching out and using my ambition as a learning tool to properly work on building skills, and I like how it turned out :D

If you notice any lighting/shading differences between Turtle and the other two, it's because I started paying more attention to how lighting worked once I'd finished him in late-August LOL.

Well christmas here has been very low key. Had a rough night's sleep as part of me was on edge thinking the boy was going to wake up in the wee hours and not want to go back to bed when he saw presents. Instead we woke up and got to enjoy our coffees before he woke up, came out of his room and said "good morning" before diving under the tree to start unwrapping presents.

He got several toys in the theme of planes and helicopters and of course trains. A new school bag and a few odds and ends I thought might strike his fancy. He was pretty pleased, especially with the huge lego freight train.

There was also a couple parcels for us from my mum, when she asked about getting us a sodastream like she got my brother I told her we already had one and can get kitchen things from husband's work on his discount. Suggested if she wanted to buy us good cotton sheets or towels they'd go down a treat. So she bought a set of 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 face clothes, and a bath mat. Which means we can start disposing of the towels we have that are 20+ years old and going threadbare.

Husband managed to wrangle four days off, so that left us a lot of time to prepare a bunch of food to eat, like smoked chicken, potato salad, asparagus and bacon, roast lamb and potatoes, and salad. Plus coleslaw and pavlova from the supermarket. We got some fresh strawberries and blueberries and whipped up some cream to go on the pav.

I was going to post this up earlier but between helping bake desserts, opening Christmas presents, going for a swim to cool off, and then just generally spending time with the family it fell to the wayside.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the amazing amount of support I've gotten, I never thought I'd even reach 100 followers nevermind 750 of you. I hope everyone is having a wonderful and happy holiday break, meri kirihimete 🎄
