Being in a fandom for 20+ years is weird because you’ll see posts like, “How come I never see people mention x” and it’s like. We did. We talked about that a lot, actually. Actually it’s something that came up. And it’s hard not to be like, “Yeah, we discussed this fifteen years ago.” Half of this fandom wasn’t even born when these discussions happened. Wild.

I know it’s usually done for convenience, but I don’t really like when robot characters just come pre-equipped with genitals and a completely normal sex drive. It raises too many questions for me. Who designed it and why? Who pulled all nighters ripping their hair out trying to debug the horny subroutines? How much did this add to the development cost? And like, I guess ‘factory made sex bot’ provides very sensible explanations for all of this, but that whole trope isn’t very appealing to me personally

I am, however, a big fan of robots who are like “oh the pussy? yeah I built this myself because I thought it’d be a cool engineering challenge. The base is just a fleshlight in my favorite color but I souped it up with a bunch of upgrades and LEDs. Some of the parts are technically illegal in the EU but who’s checking? Cool huh? It’s mostly done, I’m pretty much just experimenting and optimizing now. Making room for it did significantly decrease the structural stability of my pelvis but it’s so worth it”

or “yeah I want to have sex bc I want to experience intimacy of some sort and it sounds fun, but I don’t really wanna start cutting or welding to make that happen, so I just have this xbox controller I plug in and if you mash the buttons right I’ll come. It’s pretty convenient really. Wanna play mario kart”

Random dream.

It started with me bringing out boxes for my husband and a group of people to load into a moving van. As I got near the end of my pile of boxes, I kept finding side tables and chairs I'd missed. And then there was a couple rooms that had been my husband's responsibility to pack and they were not, and we were out of boxes.

Then somehow instead of trying to sort that out, I was having to hunt around his workplace for his personal items to grab as he was wrapping up working there along with our move. But then I was in a queue and chatting with other customers, and suddenly I was wanted by police for some made up reason, and I walked off with a pair of dudes who had had a similar frustrating run-in with police.

Somehow, my walk companions changed and it wad me and this other woman, but the longer I walked with her, the weaker I felt. At one point, I paused and she walked a different direction, towards this tram station. At a certain distance, my strength returned to me, and I went to climb over this wall to go a different direction than her if she returned.

I got as far as the top of the wall before she came back, and Chris Evans was with her, and he started asking why I was leaving. Didn't I love him? And I was like, I like you, but no I'm not in love with you, and gave him a farewell kiss before turning away and leaving.
