"Fan Art Friday" has arrived! I'm behind by two weeks, but eh...judging from my last post (lack of "Likes/Notes"), I am not really missing much! Ha ha.

Here is the 4th pair of my Akatsuki duo series.

I barely drew these last night (on August 19, 2021). I've had really bad insomnia lately (and a lot of stress going on in my life), and last night was one of those really bad nights where my body refused to sleep. It was a perfect opportunity to draw these two bad boys.

As for the Nihongo/Japanese: For Kisame, it is his name on the left "Hoshigaki Kisame", and on the right, it says "Kirigakure No Kaijin" (which basically translate to "Monster of Kirgakure/Hidden Mist"). For Itachi, it says "Sharingan No Itachi" (which translates to "Itachi of the Copy Wheel Eye"...that is what Sharingan means). On his arm, it says "Ichizokugoroshi" (which is "Clan Killer"). He doesn't have that in the manga or anime, but I put it there as symbolism, since it is a curse and burden that forever haunted him.

Kushina Chūnin Headcanons

Kushina was promoted to Chūnin at 15. This made her one of- if the oldest- people to get promoted.

She was dispatched out to war very soon after her promotion and she made leaps and bounds to create a name for herself.

It was the Second War that made Kushina eligible to become a Jōnin. Despite only being a Chūnin for 4 months, Kushina was one of only 2 people promoted to Jōnin following the war, the other being Minato.

As a Chūnin during the war, Kushina was often dispatched on convoy missions that would provide supplies to the frontline shinobi.

Kushina never donned the Konoha flak jacket while she was a Chūnin. Instead choosing to stick to just her normal attire.

It was around this time that Kushina began to need glasses. Long hours, often in low light environments, took its toll on her eyesight. This meant she was gifted a pair of glasses for the birthday she spent out at war.

Kushina unlocked the 3 and 4 tailed states while at war and training them meant she soon had complete control in both states.

Kushina was dispatched to the frontlines twice. Both times, were because they wanted her enhanced strength and incredible chakra reserves.

While at war, Kushina was also undergoing training at Mt. Myōboku. Despite earning her Complete Sage Mode, being the first to do so in a while, she never used it in combat.

There was once a false alarm regarding Minato. The missive read that he had been KIA but in truth, he was just unconscious from severe chakra drain. The incorrect missive caused Kushina to go on a major rampage- taking down Kumo's entire army alone- before the missive was corrected and she was updated with the truth. This rampage earned her the alias of 'The Red-Hot Blooded Habenero' and Kumo refers to her as 'Konohagakure no Kaijin' (The Monster of the Hidden Leaf) in their textbooks. 

Kushina had a flee-on-sight order long before Minato did. Hers was placed on her after the aforementioned rampage. Another one was later placed on her when the other nations discovered she was the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki.

Kushina was seen as Konoha's secret weapon, ready to be deployed at a moments notice. Her mere presence on the battlefield following the Kumo Rampage was a massive contributing factor that ended the war.

She was forced into combat with other Jinchūriki from the other villages on multiple occasions. These battles lasted days and left both parties exhausted. Kushina emerged victorious in practically every single case.

She was the one behind the death of Shukaku's last Jinchūriki before Gaara- Araiguma. She'd wounded the older woman so severely that death was the only option, meaning Suna removed Shukaku from Araiguma to prevent his death as well and sealed him in a pot while they buried the ex-Jinchūriki. 

Kushina boasts the highest known kill-count since Hashirama and Madara. She beats out Minato and Fugaku's kill-counts by tens of hundreds by virtue of her numerous rampages during the war. She dislikes bragging about it and is often very vague about the true number. 

She was the only one able to turn the tides- figuratively and literally- on Kirigakure, using their Water Style techniques against them. Kushina's mastery of Water Style was compared- by the Mizukage himself- to that of Tobirama Senju as she was able to take control of Kiri's techniques and turn them against them without the need to cast any jutsu herself. Kiri surrendered after one such event wiped out half of their already small army.
