Let’s talk about some of the problems with Star Trek. There are obviously real-world, behind-the-scenes reasons for many of the things we don’t like about Star Trek, and they’re usually pretty messed up. A very non-comprehensive list includes but certainly is not limited to:
Geordi being bad with women - racism
Geordi and Worf being the people of color on the cast but in heavy make-up - racism/othering
Harry Kim not getting a promotion - racism (see: model minority)
Klingons all being black/dark skinned (pre ~2001 at least cause that’s mostly what I know) but sometimes played by white actors - racism (see: blackface)
Chakotay’s whole deal - racism (see: noble savage)
The Kazon not assimilated by the Borg - anti-black racism
Deanna Troi not wearing a uniform - sexism
Seven of Nine not wearing a uniform - sexism
Jadzia getting killed off - sexism
Ezri’s poor reception - sexism again
Miles/Keiko/Kira’s baby situation - theres a post going around calling it misogynistic and it’s a pretty good take
B’Elanna being reduced to angry Klingon - Racism and sexism double whammy (see: spicy Latina)
Keiko being perceptually reduced to nagging wife even though that’s not what her actions necessarily portray - racism and sexism double whammy again
Beverly Crusher’s trill episode - homophobia
DS9 flirting with different expressions of sexuality (many characters) but barely committing - homophobia
Pike’s fate - ableism
DS9 Augments - ableism
Later iterations of Spock losing the Jewish coding - antisemitism
I’ll stop the list there since we can keep pulling examples out as nauseam and find examples of any of the -isms, any of the -phobias either within the media itself or behind the scenes but especially in some of the fan spaces. There’s plenty of ethnic/religious/gender/sexuality coding, erasure, contradictions, and many other things that can be pulled out and dissected in ~900 hours of a franchise made over 6 decades. (Keep adding examples if you want, since mine do not cover the whole spectrum of the franchise and barely even touch alien species that also have issues.)
Star Trek is undeniably made in a capitalist Hollywood production company, so white supremacy, heteronormativity, and dominant cultural tendencies usually end up dictating what gets put on air. Hollywood has a dominant thread of white supremacy throughout its history, so even intentionally trying to diversify staff and talent is difficult because of the systems feeding into Hollywood or other industries/institutions. There can also be a great deal of privilege working in the favor of successful artists - not always but something to consider.
Additionally, Trek presents itself as a post-scarcity, futuristic utopia, and sometimes things stick out to us if they don’t meld with our personal understanding of what that would look like.
I’m sure we’ve all heard a little about the old production schedules, long days, demanding schedules, rotating writers, rotating directors, etc etc. It has been proven that implicit bias can drive decisions, especially when people are busy. Even if the production isn’t explicitly motivated by these things, they seep into the work. The -isms and -phobias are sometimes reduced to characteristics of a person/piece of media, but it’s sometimes more useful to characterize actions instead of people since it allows better conversation about the topics. Sometimes it is intentional and explicit, sometimes it’s not. The intention does not affect the impact, so how a storyline or message lands on the audience/viewer is important. Science fiction in particular is a genre that makes social commentary, so by design it lends itself to deeper analysis.
We also can’t forget that the shows are products of their respective times, and a lot of what was shown was pushing against cultural boundaries. For the most part, the franchise has tried to explicitly be diverse, but they are bound to make missteps in other areas, intentional or not. No piece of media is perfect or above scrutiny.
Now, all of that said, there are many schools of thought for how to analyze media. I’m not gonna give a whole crash course in literary criticism but we can look at it from a continuum of different perspectives. We can wonder what the production meant when they made it/what happened off camera (author intentionality), we can draw from the piece itself (in universe), we can focus on how the media was received either in its cultural context or outside (reader response), or we can do some combination of the three. No media exists in a vacuum, so they all end up working together to make the work.
My main point is this: it is ok to pick your analytical perspective. You can chose to ignore the real-world contributions and intentionality when analyzing media. If people want to stay strictly in universe to come up with reasons why something did or did not happen, that’s ok. If people want to focus on what happened behind the scenes and how that affected the work, fine. If people are just focused on how it made them feel, also great. Just maybe don’t get all worked up because someone is analyzing media from a different viewpoint or someone has a different take than you do.

characters you'd marry- go!
Some of these are based on real-life historical characters/people, but I'll just go with the series/films they were portrayed in:
Sirius Black (Harry Potter)- Probably one of my first childhood fictional crushes. I died when he died.
Richard III (The White Queen)
Captain Frederick Wentworth (Persuasion)
Magneto/ Erik Lehnsherr (X-Men)
I'd also had a bit of a crush on Vision (Marvel), and Bernie Taupin (Rocketman), but not to the point where I'd feel like marrying them (I'm also not ruling out the ladies, but there's honestly never been a female character that I'm like HO-DAMN, BREAK ME OFF A PIECE OF THAT for me, besides low-key crushing on Watts in the cult John Hughes film Some Kind of Wonderful, and maybe Kira Nirys from Star Trek Deep Space Nine).
I think all of what this tells me about myself is that I like smart, hardworking, independent people who get shit done, don't follow conventions necessarily, and say what's on their mind, but also have their own moral code that they follow that makes them secretly sensitive/a good person. To paraphrase Wentworth, I like someone who knows their own mind, but isn’t bullheaded enough to change from it. I’m also a sucker for wry humour, because someone once described me as “irreverent in the best way.” Which she basically meant cheeky. I like people who poke gentle fun at life’s absurdities, and don’t take themselves too seriously. I mean, that shouldn't be too hard to find, right? xD

You made EXCELLENT points about fic never reckoning with consequences of Stiles killing whoever he wants. But, even if Sheriff did take him however reluctantly into custody for it, it would be painted as a betrayal because "how dare he villainize his own flesh and blood, Stiles saved lives" followed by an overall flat message that "some of us have to dirty our hands and do the hard work but get no thanks for it, it isn't black and white"
You can’t blame the fandom completely for this.  The only thing more inconsistent on Teen Wolf then when exactly the Hale Fire happened was Sheriff Noah Stilinski’s approach to law enforcement.   We’re supposed to respect him as the legal authority on the show, only for him to break every code of ethical conduct when it comes to solving cases and protecting the public.  Whether it’s making his son’s seventeen parking tickets disappear, to how exactly did no one arrest Stiles for the hospital massacre, to pressuring Melissa into allowing him to look at medical records without a court order, to giving Theo a big old hug and watching him walk free, to literally forcing Melissa to give a statement towards prosecuting Kira yet getting pissy when she tells the whole truth, to letting Peter Hale murder the Mute right in front of him, and then turn around and snidely assuring Melissa that their children are not above the law,  we can forgive them partly for assuming that Stiles could get away with killing anyone who threatens his pack.
But even if Sheriff Stilinski abuses his position with corruption and nepotism like every stereotypical bad white cop in America, there is still the cultural expectation that, you know, murdering people is kinda bad, okay?  We have an expectation that only criminals murder those who oppose them.   Even during the Dark Ages of Europe, the idea of murdering everyone that opposed you was seen as atrocity and only undertaken by the ruthless and evil.
In effect, all Scott McCall does when he takes a stand against killing is to say that everyone has to play by the same rules.   Human beings don’t get to kill people who annoy them, so Peter doesn’t get to kill Mr. Harris for talking to a pretty woman in a bar.   Simple as that.
But that’s not the power fantasy that these people enjoy.  They want to think that Stiles and Peter and Derek and Theo can murder anyone who threatens them and still live happily ever after.  Even when the show sent Agent McCall to investigate and deliver consequences to the sheriff, they think that the police will just ignore bodies piling up.
And even if the police are useless in their fantasy, the bad guys are even more useless.  Peter and Derek and Stiles are just cold-blooded murderers, but the bad guys never do the same.   Stiles is the BAMF, but they still kidnap him instead of putting a bullet between the eyes.   These writers stupidly insist that their enemies wouldn’t be just as ruthless.  If you want to see what this world would be like, read about mobsters in America.   There is no happily ever after in a world where life has no value.

so today's the day we release our first preview - member groups! on los ageless, our member groups are based on old hollywood films. we don't expect every character to perfectly fit into the member group and in fact yours might have characteristics of several groups. just choose the group that most meets their personality and aesthetic. we put some handy character parallels to help you make the choice and if you're still torn, feel free to contact a member of staff to help you decide! we recommend you view the groups on the blog itself instead of the dashboard since tumblr's coding isn't playing nicely with us and won't seem to show everything. ♡

Crate 5 [CANCELLED]
Last thing on the list.
Been through hell, still we carry on. The last crate waits in the cargo bay, the delivery has been cancelled with the Black Ocean operating in the area, Mira and Kira have called us back to the station where we picked up the deliveries to begin with.
Knew the risks, took them and paid for it, thankfully we had enough for it. Pain across the systems, blipping back to yellow at times but resting onboard the ship has left me with a better feeling than before, even though I am still far from my usual self.
Pull apart the blade of the katana grabbed from the Black Ocean operative, the tech inside seems quite advanced, even if the folding on the blade is ancient, hard to pin point, but the markings on near the end of it mark is as “19”.
Serial number or something deeper, who knows, I carefully dismantled the hilt of the sword and removed the capacitor unit. Linked to the trigger on the side of the grip, the motors built into the pieces of the blade were lightweight but carried enough force to open up the compartment hidden within it.
Deploy my own blade, the motors on it are older now but are still capable of moving it fluently between the sheathed states and deployed along with the several angles it can be adjusted to. Enough space inside the arm to fit the capacitor, the spot was marked add-on, so likely it was designed to fit something like this.
Place the small piece of machinery into the slot and carefully close up the arm, no issues, I opened the blade back up and wired the unit into my blade mount. Drivers’ unavailable, making use of some backup code allowed me to run power into the unit and keep it charged, then releasing a powerful shock into the split blades for a moment. Activating the capacitor without the blades being deployed allowed for the routed power to act more effectively, almost as if a coil of wire had been wrapped around my hand.
Electric, certainly usable, I reassembled the remaining pieces of the katana and placed it back in its sheath. No sense in keeping it, perhaps Mira and Kira would be interested in buying it…
Take in the new electrics, fire had always been my go to option but adapting to different enemies like this would help in the long run, I stood up from the desk and placed the katana back in the armory.
Few hours later the call from the cockpit came through, we had arrived back at the station. Load up, pull the jacket over your shoulder and calibrate the new module to not burn it.
Slight shake as the ship landed in the hangar, load up lightly just in case and head out into the station with the equipment in tow. Same old rusted walls and worn down streets, the bright lights around filled the air with a steady buzzing as my jacket remained the dark grey it had been for a few days now.
The warehouse hadn’t changed one bit, the security guard ushered us in and sealed the door behind us, his eyes scanning the street rapidly as we headed through the corridor.
Through the armored door, the warehouse that was once filled with weapon crates was now empty enough to hear my boots echo across the floor as we headed further inside.
“Oh good, it’s you two.” Kira popped up from behind one of the containers with a shotgun in her hands. “Mira, we’re clear, come on down.”
“On my way.”
Coil of rope coming down from above, Mira rappelled herself down and joined us. Marksman rifle, her cloak looked like it had seen many a situation with its scattered stitches and repairs made with pieces of fabric.
“Are you alright?” She asked as she lowered her hood. Nod to agree, could be better, could be worse, but having them worry about it for now was the least of my worries.
Run through the situation, share the intel gathered and form a plan of action.
“They don’t know of us…”
“No, you’re still in the shadows for them.”
“That gives us time, are you still with us?”
“Depends, what have you got in mind?”
“Something big, have a look.”
Holographic map of the galaxy, the little dots dancing around the larger spots indicating the planets, my eyes got lost in it for a moment before Kira pointed out a certain planet on it.
“Here, Zephyr 4-1, this place is sparse enough for us to make use of. If you want, we can provide a place for you two to lay low. The place was a mining planet for a while, but was left once the veins of Palladium ran dry.”
“So you plan on taking over?”
“Not much to take over, we’re just… borrowing it and making use of it with our own machines.”
“Alright, guessing you have a way to get there.”
Dumb question, the two laughed as they pulled up the blueprints for a carrier sitting in the docking bay at the back of the station. Enough space to carry our gunship with it, willing to give us a lift out of the system and a place to lay low from Black Ocean, a moment to think, we agreed to the plan.
Assist with loading the few remaining crates onto the back of a transport truck. Heavy enough, but once they were on, the plan was in motion and picking up speed with every minute. Home, perhaps, but a place to call such, I kept that thought in mind as we returned to the gunship and got the engines online.
New dawn, new horizons, same old me.
Heat it up.
Hey.
The man behind the screen again, you already know me. I hope you have all been enjoying the start to 2021 and the two months of it. My personal situation has been alright so far, a bit of work and more downtime than before.
I’ll leave you at that, I’ll see you again in a little while, if you have any feedback you’d like to get to me, the questions module on the site and messages are the best way to reach me.
Catch you later. Harry

I wrote 13,830 words in February, according to my tracker, which isn't awful. On average I wrote 493.9 words a day. The most words I wrote in one day was 3,013, and I had 12 days where I wrote nothing :(
Details on what I posted in February behind the cut, as well as some links to fic I read and loved in February:
What I posted:
Days When the Rain Would Come: Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tony Stark/Stephen Strange, 1,732 words, rated T. Summary: Tony deals with someone unexpected coming to Peter's rescue, someone he really would rather not be playing nice with.
Peldor Joi, Doctor Bashir: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Julian Bashir/Elim Garak, 5,279 words, rated T. Summary: The Bajoran Council of Vedeks insists that Deep Space Nine's temple host the Orb of Time during the Peldor Festival celebrating the tenth year since Cardassia ceded control of the station. What could go wrong?
better than a homing beacon: Star Wars Original Trilogy & Star Wars: Rogue One, Cassian Andor/Luke Skywalker, 4,055 words, rated T. Summary: Cassian repeats what he’d told Loneozner: he needs transport to the Thand Sector, and quickly. No Hutts, no Imperials, and he can work for passage. And, of course, the droid: “There’s something wrong with my R4 unit,” he says. The R4 spins its dome in acknowledgement. “Any time it accesses its nav systems, it crashes.” “Luke’s really the person to ask about droid stuff,” Camie says.
Diffused Light: Marvel Cinematic Universe, Karl Mordo/Stephen Strange, 1,440 words, rated T. Summary: While trapped in the Soul Stone, Stephen Strange receives a visitor.
The Latest Work: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Julian Bashir/Elim Garak, 1,220 words, rated T. Summary: Garak is put in the unfortunate position of having to correct a misconception Bashir seems to have about Cardassian culture.
Found Wanting: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Ezri Dax/Kira Nerys, 945 words, rated T. Summary: There's one of Jadzia's memories in particular that Ezri thinks a lot about.
What I read:
Now for some recs! I did a lot of reading in February, so this is a bit lengthy. February was also the month of "huh, didn't realize I shipped that," including me dipping back into Harry Potter fic for the first time in years.
The Second, Silver: MCU, Tony Stark/Stephen Strange, 9,122 words, rated M.
Summary: It was a beautiful watch. A mechanical wonder in rose gold, with a blue dial that showed the heavens, the moon and the stars. But it didn’t mean anything. It was simply another beautiful object that Tony owned. Though he admired the construction and design, the watch wasn’t even particularly to his taste, too cold and remote, its hands too delicate. He wondered why he’d gotten it in the first place.
Rec notes: Can't recommend this one strongly enough - mundane/no powers AUs for MCU aren't usually my thing, but the Tony voice in this is dead on, and Tony's POV of watching Stephen change is excellently done. There's a great thread running through the whole thing about Tony's reputation in the public eye and the extent to which he's closeted that I found incredibly compelling. (I actually read this in January according to my bookmarks, but I couldn't bear not sneaking it in here!)
we're in the process of rebuilding (and we're starting from scratch): Star Wars: Rogue One, Cassian Andor/Bodhi Rook, Bodhi Rook/K-2SO, Cassian Andor/K-2SO, Cassian Andor/Bodhi Rook/K-2SO, 4,524 words, rated T.
Summary: “I think my best friends have replaced me,” Cassian said over his breakfast. / Jyn was the only one left at their table, and she raised an eyebrow in reply. He knew what that meant. She was just interested enough to continue listening but not so curious that she’d ask him to go on. He did anyway. / “Bodhi and Kay have been sneaking off to spend time together when I’m not around.” / “Pretty sure that’s just called ‘hanging out,’” said Jyn.
Rec notes: Post-R1 everyone lives, has Bodhi befriending K2, Cassian being jealous of both of them, and it's just really lovely. Nicely understated, almost, given how complicated the relationship dynamics are in this.
Flighty: MCU, Scott Lang/Sam Wilson, 5,472 words, rated T.
Summary: In which Scott Lang spills his guts to Sam Wilson at who cares o' clock in the morning, and it all goes uphill from there. Feat. Wakandan infomercials, brooding worthy of any A-list superhero, an uncomfortably sincere compliment, and a requited crush.
Rec notes: This is so great. Scott POV, Scott learning Xhosa from Wakandan infomercials, just a fantastic portrayal of Scott in the aftermath of CA:CW. Also just pure chemistry between Scott and Sam and great banter. I did not realize I shipped this but I think I ship this.
volatile: Star Wars: Rogue One, Cassian Andor/K-2SO, 1,856 words, rated T.
Summary: Found Index : startled laugh, with the light in his eyes; squinting up at, his mouth shaping kay kay kay like a benediction as if machines could be blessed, but maybe they can, because there is cassian andor, smiling and squinting, and—
Rec notes: Bang-on K2 POV, and the pseudocode interspersed throughout works wonderfully.
deep in my soul: MCU, Karl Mordo/Stephen Strange, 1,695 words, rated E.
Summary: Within the Soul Stone our heroes dream the sweetest of dreams, all unaware they are in trapped in an imagined paradise. All except Stephen Strange, who wants to savor what the Stone has gifted him.
Rec notes: It's porn and it's also very sad and very very good!
To Watch the Faraway Stars: MCU, Heimdall/Loki, 2,930 words, rated T.
Summary: There aren't many things Heimdall cannot see. Loki is sometimes one of them.
Rec notes: Wonderful Heimdall POV, especially the bits where Heimdall is looking over the universe and seeing things that no one else could. There's such a great melancholy optimism to the fic, too, which befits its setting post-Ragnarok.
Sick Day: Broadchurch, Alec Hardy/Ellie Miller, 1,560 words, rated G.
Summary: When Hardy calls in sick, a suspicious Ellie decides to pay him a visit.
Rec notes: Dead-on Hardy & Miller chemistry, and I love how restrained Hardy is in this. Hardy/Miller can be a little...florid, sometimes, with Hardy coming out of his shell too readily for my tastes, but here he's perfectly in character while being a little more emotionally vulnerable with Miller than we get to see him in canon.
when the wolfsbane blooms: Harry Potter, Remus Lupin/Severus Snape, 7,576 words, rated T.
Summary:  Even a man who is pure in heart/And says his prayers by night/May become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms/And the autumn moon is bright. Or: Severus Snape makes a new friend, invents a new potion, and accidentally changes everything.
Rec notes: Canon divergent Marauder-era Lupin/Snape; diverges after the Whomping Willow incident. Snape starts researching werewolves and decides to cure lycanthropy. Cue Snape spending lots of time with Remus, testing potions on him. Snape is still convincingly Snape, and all the potions-theory stuff included is aces.
upon this tidal wave of young blood: Harry Potter, Harry Potter/George Weasley, 10,124 words, rated T.
Summary: George stands before him in the doorway, like a gangly, terrible ghost. His face is heinously pale, which makes the dark bags under his eyes pop in a way that is altogether unflattering, and he wears only a large, striped sweater and a pair of boxers with bats on them. His hair is much longer than it had been last time Harry had seen him, and it’s pulled back into a loose knot. “Harry,” he says, and it comes out breathlessly. / “George.” Harry stands there, wholly encapsulated by familiar heartache just at the sight of his friend. His eyes flick past him to investigate the flat. Clothes and dirty dishes are strewn all over the living room and, if he’s not mistaken, there are at least three pairs of underwear hanging from the ceiling fan. He glances back at George, who is now leaning against the doorway staring at him, expressionless. Harry clears his throat. “I, um… came for a visit. Sorry.”
Rec notes: Harry/George is a post-canon HP ship I had never thought about before, but now that I've thought about it I reckon I might never stop thinking about it.
George Smiley's Wikipedia Page: John Le Carre's works, gen, 1,139 words, rated G.
Summary: What it says on the tin. An imagining of how George's wiki page might look in universe circa a few years after Legacy.
Rec notes: An in-canon wikipedia page for George Smiley. Excellently put together; I especially got a kick out of the "In popular culture" section.
@heyitsspiderman: Into the Spider-Verse, gen, 27,392 words, rated T.
Summary: @heyitsspiderman: people act like they know this city but when i’m in the air i find more boroughs all the time. so far ive counted ten. dont listen to big brother in your ceiling (google) telling you otherwise (google maps)
Rec notes: Marvelously put together work where the various Spider-people figure out how to text between their dimensions and end up in a group chat together. Also, Miles is on Twitter! The coding on this must have taken so much work. The character voices are dead on (I especially enjoy Noir in this,) and the way the plot comes in while sticking to the text/Tweet/etc. format is extremely clever.

Inazuma Eleven ☆ Harry Potter AU  |  https://inazuma-hpau.tumblr.com/
↳ A new side project in which sakka boys are qudditch boys in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
I was supposed to do adult things today, but a new project happened instead. *cough*
Inazuma Eleven Hogwarts Headcanons:
Endou Mamoru
Endou as an excited first year, running around on the train to Hogwarts trying to make new friends with all the first years and asking who is into quidditch.
“KUIDICCHI YAROZE” to just about anyone who says they enjoy quidditch.
Endou being sorted into Hufflepuff just like his grandfather, Endou Daisuke.
The Hufflepuff quidditch team not having won a Quidditch cup since his grandfather played for the team.
The Hufflepuff team always at a constant loss of quidditch players and Endou having to form a team from scratch when all the seventh years leave in his third year.
Endou charming quaffles as Keeper practise back before he could find people to play on the Hufflepuff team.
Endou receiving an old book of quidditch keeper techniques originally owned by his grandfather at Christmas as a present without a name. Turns out, his head of house Hibiki Seigou sends it to him.
The Hufflepuff team suddenly becoming better over a few months and none of the other teams can figure out how it happened.
A clumsy hufflepuff Tobitaka Seiya accidentally finds the Room of Requirements and the team turns it into the ultimate training room.
Even when the other houses look down on Hufflepuff, Endou builds their team to become the best defensive teams Hufflepuff has seen in years.
In fact, the best chasers from the three houses (like Gouenji, Kidou, Hiroto and Afuro struggle to get their quaffles past him).
Despite initially finding Endou quite annoying, many the other students who play quidditch befriend him - it’s kind of hard not to especially due to his personality and ultimate love of quidditch.
Gouenji Shuuya and Kidou Yuuto eventually becomes best friends with him despite them originally competing for the top of the class and rivalling quidditch teams.
Endou constantly bothering Gouenji and Kidou at the library.
Gouenji and Kidou forcing Endou to study otherwise he would not be allowed to play quidditch.
Break trio going to hogsmeade together.
Kidou Yuuto & Otonashi Haruna + Teikoku Kids
Despite Ravenclaw being the fitting house for Kidou Yuuto, he asks the sorting hat to put him in Slytherin due to his step-father’s expectations.
Everyone in the Kidou family/Kidou Financial Group has always been sorted into Slytherin. Just because he wasn’t born a Kidou, it isn’t an exception.
His sister, Otonashi Haruna however does gets sorted into Ravenclaw the following year.
She becomes a writer/ photographer for the Hogwarts school paper and hopes to become a reporter for the Daily Prophet someday.
Kidou becomes a Slytherin prefect in his fifth year and quidditch captain playing as a chaser.
Haruna comes to watch him at every Slytherin game, wrapped in a bundle of his brother’s Slytherin scarf.
He then later becomes head boy alongside Gryffindor’s Raimon Natsumi.
Kidou and Fudou Akio meeting each other for the first time on the train to Hogwarts in their first year.
After spending a good five minutes in the same compartment, he finds that his sarcastic and cynical peronality annoying and barely tolerable. He hopes that somehow he gets sorted into a different house to him.
Sadly for him, Fudou also ends up in Slytherin AND becomes his roommate.
Fudou purposely going out of his way to irritate Kidou.
After living with him for a few years, he realises Fudou is not that bad and not to mention a pretty good quidditch chaser.
However, he is not happy with the fact that he hits on his sister.
In fact, Kidou is never happy that a lot of boys at Hogwarts fancies Haruna.
Protective brother Kidou.
Needless to say, anyone who does ends up with a hexed body part.
Fudou Akio taking girls (or boys, who knows?) to the Room of Requirements for a late night rendezvous.
Sakuma Jirou and Genda Koujirou are both childhood friends of Kidou’s. When Yuuto was taken in by the Kidou family, Sakuma helped him ease into the world of purebloods (Kidou only being a halfblood). Despite his high potential of being a talented wizard, many of the other pureblood kids did not look at him on an equal level because he was halfblood.
Sakuma ending up in Slytherin alongside Kidou being sorted with the same reason of family expectation.
Genda instead ends up in Gryffindor. His family aren’t too strict about where he ends up as long as he does well in his classes.
Sakuma as a chaser for the Slytherin team while Genda becomes keeper for gryffindor.
They stay friends despite the house rivalry and enjoy playing against each other when their teams play.
Gouenji Shuuya
Gouenji not attending Hogwarts till his third year. He transfers from Dumstrang.
Tends to spend a lot of time in the library when he isn’t playing qudditch.
Constantly competing with Kidou for the best grades in their year.
Someoka getting pissed off at Gouenji for transferring and suddenly gaining a starting position on the Gryffindor qudditch team.
Although his dream is to play quidditch professionally, his father wants him to become a Healer.
Gryffindor Toramaru idolising Gouenji and aims to become just as great a chaser.
Sun Kids
Kiyama Hiroto, Midorikawa Ryuuji, Nagumo Haruya, Suzuno Fuusuke, Saginuma Osamu and Yagami Reina all grew up the Sun Garden orphanage.
They would always be isolated by the rest of the children who lived there as strange things would always happen around them - especially if you made one of them upset.
Because of their experiences at Sun Garden, the six of them decided they would stick together.
They enter into Hogwarts a year after Endou, Gouenji and Kidou’s year.
Hiroto figures out that since Nagumo, Suzuno and Saginuma would most likely end up in Slytherin and his step father being a Slytherin alumni, the best house for them to go would most likely be Slytherin.
Hiroto would probably have been sorted into Ravenclaw otherwise.
Obviously Midorikawa goes wherever his best friend will go and ends up in Slytherin too.
Nagumo always teasing Midorikawa telling him he should have ended up in Hufflepuff.
Yagami Reina wishing to go to Gryffindor deep inside, but decides she doesn’t want to be separated from the rest of the sun garden kids.
The Slytherin/Gryffindor rivalry as strong as ever as Nagumo always tries to go head to head against Gryffindor’s ace chaser Gouenji.
As Nagumo is a beater, he always aims to hit the bludgers at Gouenji.
Nagumo and Suzuno Fuusuke makes one of the best beater duos at Hogwarts next to the Fubuki Twins.
Saginuma Osamu becoming the keeper of Slytherin.
Yagami Reina becomes a chaser of the team and is the first girl in years to make the team.
Hiroto becomes a prefect in his fifth year and later becomes the head boy in his seventh year alongside Otonashi Haruna of Ravenclaw.
He plays as a chaser for the Slytherin’s quidditch team and becomes captain when Kidou graduates.
The six of them becoming their generation’s Marauders: Sneaking around the school, finding the secret entrances/ passageways, late night kitchen trips and giving themselves nicknames (Gran, Reize, Ulvida, Gazel, Burn and Desarm.
Fubuki Shirou and Atsuya
Their auror parents were killed by dark wizards at a young age and Shirou promised them to look after his younger twin Atsuya.
They both see Thestrals from their first year of arriving at Hogwarts.
Shirou knows he can fit into Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, but he decides that wherever Atsuya gets sorted, he gets sorted their too. He has nothing against Hufflepuff, but with his father in Gryffindor and his mother in Ravenclaw, he’d prefer either of the two.
Atsuya has his heart quite set on being in Gryffindor and wastes no time telling Shirou that Hufflepuffs are for losers and Ravenclaws are for swots.
Atsuya getting sorted first since A comes before S despite being the younger twin. Due to his bold, daring and often reckless personality, he gets sorted into Gryffindor with the hat barely touching his head.
The sorting hat spends a longer time on Shirou, debating to send him to either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. Shirou politely asking the hat to send him to Gryffindor, before he runs off to sit next to his brother.
Both the twins can play bother Beater and Chaser respectively. Their position for a game depends on which house they’re playing against.
Other
Tsunami getting sorted into Gryffindor. He loves the feel of riding wherever his broom takes him - normally over the Black Lake. He often gets into trouble, dragging an unwilling Hufflepuff Tachimukai along with him to detention.
Kino Aki owling Ichinose Kazuya every week as he starts his wizarding education at Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in America.
When he transfers to Hogwarts in his fifth year, he gets sorted into Ravenclaw.
He is also the youngest player on the American representative quidditch team.
He co-captains Ravenclaw with Afuro Terumi where he plays as a Seeker. Afuro himself plays as a Chaser.
Their childhood friends, Domon Asuka and Nishigaki Mamoru both transfer a few years prior and gets sorted into Slytherin and Hufflepuff and both play beaters for their respective houses.
Kazemaru at one point is the Captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team. He is probably the fastest seeker the house has had in a decade.
Kogure is the school’s local prankster. His cunning and misleading trickster personality lands him in Slytherin.
Heads of Houses: Kageyama Reiji (Slytherin), Kudou Michiya (Gryffindor), Hibiki Seigou (Hufflepuff), Kira Hitomiko (Ravenclaw)
Kudou teaches Defence against the Dark Arts, a position which Kageyama wanted. Kageyama teaches potions instead.
Hibiki teaches either Arithmancy or Ancient Runes
Kira teaches Transfiguration or Charms
During their first year, one of the quidditch teams (Ravenclaw or Slytherin), uses a potion with the code name Aqua of the Gods before their quidditch games and they win all their games for the season suspiciously. Turns out the Aqua of the Gods is actually Liquid Luck and the team forfeit their Quidditch cup victory. The members of their respective teams are banned from quiddich for the rest of their time at Hogwarts.
As Endou was still in his first year and unable to play quidditch, none of the banned members of the team are known.
Not my complete set of headcanons there! But that’s what I’ll leave for now.
There are a couple of headcanons if certain people got placed in different houses (Ravenclaw!Hiroto, Hufflepuff!Midorikawa, Ravenclaw!Kidou ) and I probably may write drabbles and whatnot with them in the future!
Hope some of this sounds interesting :D I’ll be working on this project on the side while I try to sort out some adulting life things.

If you are still taking requests could you please write a Light X Reader were the reader is new and has no clue about any of the Kira case and she meets Light and she kinda fancies and looks out for him, one day he's in danger and she helps out and they kinda fall for each other? Sorry hopefully this makes sense and isn't such OF a problem
Anonymous said:oh ! could you publish some death note today [ if you have some in the moment ] ? i’d be totally up for that !! ^^
chloeolivialuce said:You don’t have to but I’d love to see some Harry Potter or Deathnote posts today! I love all of your writing so I’d be happy with whatever you picked💕
It was your first day acting as L’s assistant. You had been picked up in a black limousine with tinted windows and a kind elderly man, who told you nothing about where you were going. You’d pulled up in front of the most poshest hotel in all of Tokyo and had been taken to the penthouse, where your electronics had been taken from you, you’d signed a document detailing your promise of silence, and then you’d met the Task Force.
Your eyes had fallen upon a young boy who looked like he was seventeen, with caramel hair and brown eyes that held more within their depths than the average person’s.
Introductions made, L, your employer, had set Light - the boy you’d seen when you came in - the task of showing you around, telling you the rules and answering any questions. He was perfectly polite, well-mannered and warm to you but you knew there was more to him than met the eye.
As the days and months passed, you and Light struck up a friendship, much to the surprise of L and the unsurprise of the Task Force. One day though, you spotted him on the way home. He was carrying a black notebook and appeared to be studying it intently.
Completely out of the blue, you saw a car speed around the corner, propelling towards Light. Your heart in your throat, you ran up to Light, which made time seem to slow and then stop as you grabbed his arm and yanked him back just enough for the car to race past.
“Y/N you... You saved me.”
You nodded, panting and unable to speak. The driver had obviously had no mind for pedestrians or any road code of conduct, which angered you. You hadn’t even noted down the license plate so you could report it to the police.
“You were in danger and I - I had to help.”
Reality was catching up to you and it came crashing down around you, tears in your eyes as your stupid act in an attempt to save Light was absorbed by your rational mind - both of you could have died tonight.
A hand gripped yours and you looked down, startled. Looking back at Light, he smiled warmly, and one simple word sealed the new dynamic of your friendship.
“Dinner?”
