title: NEVER LEAVE. (part two of OTHER DADDY~!)
summary: he won't ever be so childish again. not when he has you and his family. pairings: kinich x (intended) fem!reader. tw: none. notes: finally my first idea is done! please request, i heavily encourage requests.
It’d already been just over three weeks ever since Kinich left. You didn’t pay it too much mind, during the first days, this not being the first time Kinich had left for work without telling you, but you did think it was never for this long.
Poor you, you had initially thought that Kinich was in trouble somehow. You didn’t know that he wasn’t planning on coming back for a while.
Kinich’s original plan was to take a really long commission to distract him. Fortunately these types were quite easy to come by.
By the first two weeks, Kinich was already done with this commission, only going back now. He’d been thinking about what he'd do next for the past few hours, and so, he finally decided to come home and explain everything. Perhaps everything could get better. Perhaps he really did just assume things. But if he had to try to justify why he left… Perhaps he couldn’t deal with what could happen after he confronted you about this… if it was true. Splitting with you, splitting with his son? He didn't think he could bear it.
Only thing was… only a moment ago Kinich had clocked that a Fatui agent had been tailing him for a little while now, and though Kinich didn’t do anything yet, he wondered why this Fatui was following him, the reason it could be.
It’d been a month now, everyday you asked all the people around you if they had seen Kinich, you were so anxious you thought you could just burst from paranoia. Often, your son questioned where his father was, but it’s not like you could give him an  answer; you didn’t know Kinich’s whereabouts yourself. You even asked Mualani and Kachina if he’d met them sometime in the last month. They told you he had come to them two weeks ago for something that Mualani just refused to tell you, and upon telling them that nobody had seen him for definite since that last week, they immediately started to panic too.
Currently you, along with Mualani and some tribe members decided to send a search party to go looking for him, and sometime in the investigation even Ajaw joined you, who, although was initially grinning with the idea that Kinich could be in danger, decided to help you too- you were the only mortal he tolerated, so he insisted that helping you overcome your worries as a tiny favour from the almighty K'uhul Ajaw, but he would never admit that Kinich’s disappearance didn’t sit right with him.
It took many days of restless searching, until one day you all came across a suspiciously hidden camp in the Scions of the Canopy, and something in your heart told you that you’d find him here. And you were right.
Bruised, battered and bloody, you found Kinich unconscious on the floor, tied up around the wrists and severely pale. The camp seemed to be belonging to Fatui agents, and some of your party decided to get Kinich to safety while others waited around to question and attack the kidnappers.
Turns out, the Fatui were looking for you- and you knew why.
Your family pissed off the Fatui before your father had you. He was a brave adventurer who made quite the name for himself over the years, and many of the Fatui knew his name. He even slaughtered a high captain of the specific Fatui which took Kinich, and understood that if you were ever kidnap, your family would try everything to get you back. Luring your father to them to exact revenge- and maybe snag some of the mora your family had.
Kinich had never met your father, he was jailed in Fontaine around the years you and Kinich got married, and all pictures you had of him you couldn’t carry with you. Kinich doesn’t know about this.
You being this man’s child drove the Fatui to target you, and while they didn’t know too much about you, they did know about your husband. Anger coursed through you as you looked at him, the blood and scars on his body making you wish that you had stayed to give the Fatui members a piece of your mind.
Kinich stirred awake.
“Kinich!!” You leapt up from your chair and started towards him, happy that he had woken up. The doctors called in the others and you couldn't stop yourself from smiling so brightly.
“Kinich.” You then grabbed his hand and intertwined your fingers with his, bringing it up to your face. “Oh, my dear…”
You were obviously very glad to see him, tears– happy tears– pricking in your eyes, and more so now because he was now in a somewhat healthier condition than the one you had seen him in a day earlier. Your son stood behind you, but he ran up to Kinich almost as fast as you did. “Dad!!” Kinich smiled a bit at his son, ruffling his hair.
Both only looked at each other so fondly, your son gagged a bit. Mualani came in a little while later, clearly ecstatic to see him, and hugged Kinich, before taking your son out of the room for your privacy, and she cast a small glance at Kinich, to which he only sheepishly looked down. This action was not unmissed by you, but now you were both alone.
You sat down on his hospital bed, and he gathered up the courage to speak.
“(name)… may we talk?” You nodded, giving him the okay. All you knew right now was that he was attacked, but not the reason why he suddenly made himself so vulnerable, and not what he was about to tell you. “You… you are probably wondering where I've been. You know that I was only kidnapped a week ago,” he grumbled. “But it’s been a little while... I wasn't planning on coming back for a long time.”
He could quite vividly see that familiar bright luminosity on your face that he was always entranced by dull a small bit, but you didn't say anything, so he continued with his confession. “(name), I was scared. Do you remember the day before I left? That… man… you had invited…”
Gears started to turn in your head, but then he admitted something he had been holding back for the past month:
“I instantly thought of the worst. I believed that you were tired of me. Tired that I couldn't always come home to you and our son… that you had finally found someone more…exciting…and up to your standards. That man. He seemed so close to you… you seemed so close to him. I couldn't help but think… Our son called him “other daddy”, what did you expect me to do? The idea that my son had another father figure…” he then cut himself off, closed his eyes and turned his head to the other side.
“Kinich, that man is my father.”
His eyes shot open and you huffed. “Seriously, Kinich? You left home temporarily because you thought I had found someone better?”
Yeah, that seems so childish and petulant now. Kinich had never met your father, but he never knew the reason why. You always reassured him that you loved him and yet that little insecurity always stayed in the back of his head, resurfacing at times like these.
You let go of his hand, turning away in feigned annoyance. “You should’ve known I'd never do that to you.” You turned back to look at him, a familiar warmth shining in your eyes. “I do love you. But you should’ve talked to me about this… now look. What if you do that again? Leave because you're scared. All I honestly want to do right now, is hug you and reassure you that you are the only one for me.”
After that hell of a month, that was all Kinich needed to hear. Taking your hand and placing a chaste kiss to your cheek, he promises:
“I will never leave my family ever again.”

dominant men that still somehow manage to be needy and desperate when it comes to fucking you.
dominant men that get so horny from the simple sight of you, that they can't help but beg to ruin you; can't help but beg to fill you up and make you scream for them.
dominant men that can't help but be vocal. desperate grunts leaving his lips as his hips pound into you. "f-fuck.. your pussy is so fucking g-good. need to be inside you all fucking day." he'd growl in your ear, hands tight on your hips in a possessive manner.
dominant men who get so pussy drunk that they'll messily eat you out for hours, coercing you into release after release; overstimulating you because he can't get enough of your juices.
dominant men that still manage to maintain all control over you despite finding it hard to keep his cool whilst he's balls deep in you. "baby.. b-baby oh fuck- you're so good for me? so f-fucking good for me."
dominant men that pound into you from behind, tugging at your hair as he pants, edging ever so closer to his high. his thrusts becoming sloppy and lacking rhythm as he feels his hips twitch, body almost craving to bust his load.
dominant men who want nothing more than to pump your pussy with cum; begging to breed you, begging to leave your walls covered in release. the way his brain would go feral at the sight of his thick, gooie cum trickling out of your entrance.

Quick Kinich Brainrot.
Kinich sings the Ode of Resurrection a little louder and with a little more earnest when you're involved.
He doesn't notice it, but Mualani sure does. Kachina is none the wiser, she thinks Kinich treats everyone equally.
"Excited?" Mualani prods the said man on his side, grin as wide as ever, while waiting for the Ressurection to start.
"Huh?" Kinich asks.
Turns out he was none the wiser too. He thought he treated everyone equally.
"For Y/N to come back!" Mualani tries to hide the exasperation in her voice.
"...Isn't everyone?" Kinich simply says. Ajaw is surprisingly quiet.
Mualani has a retort at the tip of her tongue, but the ceremony starts. The eulogy is recited and the humming commences.
The ceremony is the same as it always is, and as the Pyro archon disappears into the Sacred Flame, people start to cheer and shout.
Kinich stays quiet. Eyes tacked on to the flame, shoulders tense, searching for the first sign of the Pyro Archon and you.
His mind doesn't quite register it when the Pyro Archon emerges from the flame carrying you in her arms.
The cheers continue, but when people start to notice that you're unconscious and asleep, the noise dwindles down.
Kinich masterfully swings himself over to meet the Pyro Archon, peering over at your face. "Is Y/N okay?"
"What's wrong with 'em? Psh. And here I thought they weren't one of the puny ones! Well at least it ain't a bag of bones!" Ajaw cackles, but constantly tries to circle around to catch a glimpse of your face.
"Trouble in the Night Kingdom," the archon replies. "They're fine, they just need a bit more rest to stabilize the Abyssal energy in them,"
Kinich steps back with a sigh.
The wave of panic that hit him settling down to ripples. Something similar had happened to Kachina before, in fact that time had been worse. Kinich hated to admit it, but he didn't feel half as scared back then than he did now.
What did that tell him?
He puts his hands forward "I'll take Y/N, archon. I'll take care of them," urgency and desperation mixed together in his voice.
The pyro archon had no doubt that he would, but shakes her head. "They'll have to stay here until the abyssal energy stabilizes, it could be dangerous to you as well,"
"But--" His response was automatic, and he had to stop himself from protesting.
Just take Y/N home. Don't let anyone else take them.
Repeated in his mind, over and over again. Home. You'll be safe there. He'll make sure of it. But he relents, and drops his arms to his sides. "...Okay,"
The pyro archon promises you'll be fine.
Kinich was a competent fighter. He was an ancient name bearer. He had fought so many battles and looked for many more.
But in this one simple and single moment, suddenly he wasn't so strong anymore.
His fear was bigger than his whole existence.

literal sweetheart i tell you!!! he knows how rough he can be, and simply teasing the hell out of you definitely is not the solution; but he can make up for all the marks & lovebites he leaves all over your body.
oohhh he'd definitely kisses the marks on your body, acting like they're healed by the time he's done worshipping ur body hhhhh
probably takes you to the toyac region in natlan to clean you up, and help you relax.
probably hums you a lullaby he remembers hearing from his tribe. one that would always soothe his goosebumps, one that would always calm him nerves. wherein he would forget all his ninety-nine problems.
not to mention his voice is actually so nice to listen to <\3
i imagine he sort of sings like d4vd (specifically sleep well, go listen to the song!!)
probably teases you while cuddling. probably loves to talk to you while listening to your pulse match with his breathing speed.
it's as if the world stopped for the both of you. just to keep you close like this was rare enough. he's 9/10 times never ever cuddled like this w anyone (let anyone physically intimate)
kinich whose arms feel like a wave to earth song. one that could be played on any day, any time, anywhere. one that would help you focus on studying, or let you concentrate on that new prject you worked on while keeping your morale up

It's Not Your Fault
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kinich x reader! In which:
Your boyfriend comes home from work and the first sentence he told you was "somebody kissed me today."
1,747 words 9,461 characters
Tumblr media
It was almost midnight, the time your boyfriend told you he'd come home. Like many other times when he had to work till late, you sat on the couch with a lamp illuminating the book in your hands so that you can tell the letters apart. The plot wasn't particularly interesting, but the characters were relatable and pretty well written.
Just as you were getting to the climax of the story, you heard the sound of the door unlocking. Without hesitation, you put down your book (after placing a bookmark betweent the pages of course) and leaped towards the front entrance to welcome your beloved home. Barely did the door open when you had already thrown yourself at the figure before you.
"Honey! Welcome home," you grinned, nuzzling your cheek into the crook of his neck. Usually he would've greeted you back by now, but all you got was an arm weakly patting against your back. Noticing this, you stepped back to see what was up.
"Kinich? You alright?" you asked worriedly. His face was a few shades paler than you remember, his eyes didn't meet yours and he kept opening and closing his mouth. Something was clearly wrong.
After a while of silence, he seemed to have found his words again. Monotonously, he uttered the following words.
"Somebody kissed me today."
In an instant, it felt as if a cold bucket of water was dumped onto you, rendering you speechless for a moment. However, it wouldn't have mattered if you could speak or not, for he was not done yet.
"I made it clear that I had a lover already, but she didn't listen and while I was occupied with something else she just did it," he explained calmly and shortly. If you had not been with him for so long, you might've misunderstood his calm as apathy, his sparse amount of words as him trying to brush it off as nothing and his unwillingness to look at you as disrespect.
But you had been with him for this long. You knew that rather than being calm, it was him struggling to express his emotions, instead of trying to downplay the situation he was just being extra blunt under stress and it wasn't that he doesn't think you're not important enough to be looked at while talking, he just didn't know how to look at you anymore.
"I- I thought I'd tell you before any misunderstanding happens. I'm pretty sure there were no witnesses but just in case someone tries to tell you anything I wanted to tell you and well I... I..."
The panic he felt was evident to you. It's hard not to see with his eyes frantically darting from furniture to furniture, his hands clenching and unclenching again, his breath going in and out at a faster pace than the one that had the power to lull you to sleep. There came a point where you couldn't bear seeing him like this anymore.
"Kinich," you called out. He stopped every movement, so did his heart for a second. "Kinich, look at me."
Only then did he finally meet your gaze. Vibrant yellows, greens and a bit of orange. How you adored his eyes, even now as his pupils dilated and tears threatening to roll down his pretty face. Slowly, as to not scare him, you opened your arms invitingly.
Immediately he moved into the safety of your embrace, wrapping around you and burying his face into your shoulder. Not long after, you felt his body quiver as soft sniffles sounded next to your ear.
"It's alright. It's not your fault, so don't you worry. It's all gonna be fine," you whispered soothingly, hoping to relieve him of the burden as much as you can, even though you yourself weren't so thrilled to hear about it.
"But I-," he was interrupted by a rather quiet hiccup, a skill he mastered at 5, "I could've stopped it. It would've been so easy."
"Don't put the blame on yourself, you were doing something else, weren't you? She exploited that and did something you have made clear was taboo. You can't be at fault for this."
Although your words made sense to him logically, and he himself already knew this on his way back home, he couldn't convince his feelings that you were speaking the truth. They kept telling him that you were only saying this so that he'd calm down and let his guard down, so that you could leave while he was in a faux sense of safety. The mixture of shame, guilt and fear was crushing him.
He hated everything about the current situation, even the heat radiating off of you. He hated how weak he felt, how his emotions were so overwhelming, how his mind won't just accept the logical truth, how he dared to doubt your words, how he had the audacity to seek comfort in your embrace despite said doubts and what he had done.
Why were you being so lenient, why were you being gentle with him when he had betrayed you? What will be the price for this? Both the betrayal from his side and the leniency you showed meant that he was now indebted to you, by a lot in fact. How will this debt be payed? There was only one possibility in his mind and the thought of it sent whatever was left of his rationale went flying out the window.
The hold he had on you tightened. His fingers dug into the side of your arms, making you wince a bit but you didn't let go of him. Memories flashed before him, terror had his heart in a grip like it's trying to suffocate him and fear flooded his mind, drowning out all thoughts.
"Please, oh please don't..."
He let out a shaky breath.
"Please, don't leave me, I'll do whatever it takes to make up for it but please, I beg of you and I promise I'll be enough, I'll do enough, just please don't go away, I'll be good, really..."
The boy's rambling continued, repeating words like a prayer, but it was so quiet you barely heard him, despite your ear being right beside him. The speed at which the words spilled out of his mouth made the words even more intelligible, but you realized where his mind was at as soon as you understood "leave."
"Hey, hey, no. I'm not gonna leave you, you don't have to pay me anything. One only has to pay when they gain something in return, but you didn't gain anything from that kiss, right?"
Your voice cracked a bit at the end, the thought of Kinich liking the kiss of someone else stinged like a needle. To your slight reassurance, he nodded into your shoulder.
"Then you don't have to pay for anything. See? I'll stay, there's nowhere else I'd want to be more than with you, I'm not going anywhere."
"But I broke our promise and hurt your trust, I should compensate for it, I have to," he continued to argue, as if trying hard to not let you convince him.
"Nonsense, you didn't do anything to me, it was that... person, who did you wrong." As an attempt to ground him back into reality, you tangled your fingers into his hair and rubbed his scalp softly. That always calmed him down, and though this time was no exception, the effect was less than usual.
"The fact that I told you already counts as hurting you. I know you're hurt by this," he retorted, now less hysteric, and you knew that he wasn't all that wrong. But still, you continued talking him out of his worries.
"A misunderstanding would've done more damage to me, telling me right away was the safest option and the one with the least damage potential. You made the choice that has the least cons for me."
Finally, he had nothing to argue with and the room fell still. Talking about pros and cons of choices may seem odd, and you would've found it very odd, had you heard this conversation a few years ago, but throughout your time together you had learnt that this was just the way Kinich was able to receive comfort. He couldn't accept simple, genuine things in relationships without paying something back, that was just what he had learnt from his childhood. Nothing comes without a price, so when someone claims something to be free, he can only face it with suspicion and disbelief.
"I won't leave you, ever. You're the only I love, the only one I trust so much and I know you only have my best interests in mind. Just your existence is enough and what you do for me, well it's more than I could ever hope to receive from a person," you spoke with a hushed tone and stepped away from the hug. The corners of his eyes were reddened and a bit of snot ran down his nose, but he looked as beautiful as ever. Delicately, you took both his hands and entertwined his slender digits in your own.
"There are more reasons to stay with you than I can count on both our fingers, you know? In contrast, I see none why I should leave. Well, aside from Ajaw, he's the only thing tainting my time with you. On the other hand though, I must say, seeing you bicker is quite entertaining," you laughed light-heartedly. To that, he smiled a little.
"Thank you," he murmured and leaned in for a kiss, one you gently returned. It didn't last very long, nor was it particularly passionate, but it expressed everything he wanted to tell you and you understood everything that he said.
"Should we go to sleep now? I'm sure you're tired from all the work. Come on, go get yourself ready for bed, I'll be waiting," you urged him, getting a hum of agreement in return. Content with that, you went to fetch your book, that was still on the couch, and stepped towards your shared bedroom.
Not long after, Kinich entered the room as well, still rubbing his hair with a towel. You were already under the blanket, watching him change into his pajamas and eventually lay down beside you. Wordlessly, he slid his limbs around your midrift and you cradled his head, which was pressed up against your chest. Your legs tangled together until neither of you knew where he started and where you ended. At last you peacefully drifted to sleep, aware that the other is always beside you.

Legit woke up in the middle of the night to write this, knowing full well I had school the next day, all because the idea came to me. Well anyways hope you enjoyed and have a pleasant day or night.

Two Hands, One Home
Summary: After an abyss attack destroys your home, Kinich, who values independence and self-reliance, offers you a place to stay. Over time, you settle into a peaceful routine together, finding comfort in his reserved kindness and the small gestures of care he provides, learning that beneath his cold exterior, Kinich has his own way of showing affection.

The aftermath of the abyss attack was devastating. Your home, once a place of safety and comfort, had been reduced to rubble, its walls shattered and roof torn asunder. The shock of losing everything you had worked for in an instant left you feeling hollow, adrift in a world that had suddenly turned cold and uncertain.
But amid the chaos, there was an unexpected offer. Kinich, with his usual stoic expression, had come to you with a quiet proposal. “You can stay at my place while your house is being repaired.” he said, his tone as dry as ever, yet beneath it was something softer, something genuine.
You were hesitant at first—Kinich was a private person, and you knew his past hadn’t been easy. Still, the practicality of the offer, and the simple fact that you needed somewhere safe to stay, won out. You nodded, grateful but unsure of what to expect.
The day you moved into Kinich’s house, you couldn’t help but be surprised by how… normal it was. The inside was modest, a far cry from the grandeur of the mansions you’d seen in the past. But it had a warmth to it, an unspoken coziness. The walls were lined with handmade furniture, small knick-knacks that spoke of a life lived with care and attention, even if it wasn’t a life of luxury.
Kinich showed you around, his gestures efficient but not unkind. “This is the kitchen,” he said, pointing to a simple stove and a small table. “If you need anything, just ask. And, uh… don’t go near the shed out back. I keep some of my… tools there.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Tools?”
His lips twitched in what might have been a smile, though it was hard to say. “I’ve got a lot of things to fix. You’ll see.”
You followed him to the living room, where a modest fireplace crackled. The scent of wood and something faintly herbal hung in the air, and Kinich, ever the practical one, was already setting up a small cot by the wall for you.
“Don’t make a fuss about it,” he said as he smoothed out the blanket. “It’s not much, but it’ll do for now.”
You couldn’t help but feel touched. For someone who valued independence so much, Kinich was surprisingly attentive in his own way. You sat down on the cot, still a bit unsure of what to do next.
Kinich cleared his throat and turned toward the kitchen. “I’m making dinner. It’ll be ready in about an hour. You can relax until then.”
As he worked, you took a moment to look around the room. It wasn’t much, but it was his—his space, his home. The absence of his usual sharpness, the subtle kindness of his gestures, made you feel a little less alone. Even if he didn’t show it often, Kinich had a way of making you feel like you mattered.
Dinner was simple, a warm stew that smelled of fresh herbs and hearty vegetables. Kinich placed a bowl in front of you, his expression as unreadable as ever, but there was something softer in his eyes, a flicker of something more than just duty.
“You didn’t have to do this,” you said, quietly breaking the silence. “Let me help with something.”
Kinich paused for a moment, his hand still on the pot as he glanced over at you. “It’s fine,” he said with a shrug. “I’m not doing it for you. Just… don’t let the food go to waste.”
You chuckled softly, nodding. Kinich’s words were as blunt as always, but the care in his actions was something you couldn’t overlook. As you sat together at the table, eating in comfortable silence, you couldn’t help but think that, despite everything, you had found a place here—a place where, for the time being, you could heal
Over the next few days, life at Kinich’s house settled into a quiet routine. You’d help with the small tasks around the house—cleaning up, organizing things—and in return, Kinich would share bits and pieces of his life with you, small snippets of knowledge or skills that he’d learned over the years.
One evening, as the sun began to set, you found Kinich in the garden, tending to some plants in the fading light. You hadn’t realized how peaceful the house could feel when it was just the two of you, sharing this simple life together.
“Need help?” you asked, walking over to him.
Kinich glanced up, his face softening slightly. “If you want. I could always use another pair of hands around here.”
You knelt beside him, taking a small gardening trowel and gently digging into the soil. There was a strange comfort in working alongside him, the silence between you both not awkward but companionable, as if you were partners in something greater than just survival.
“Why do you do it?” you asked, looking up at him. “Tending to all this, I mean. I would’ve thought you’d want to leave it all behind.”
Kinich paused, the question catching him off guard. His eyes flickered briefly, almost hesitant, before he answered. “Because it’s mine. It’s the one thing in this world I can rely on. People… they come and go. But this? It’s real. It stays.”
You smiled at his answer, understanding him a little more than you had before. Kinich didn’t offer grand gestures or flowery words, but in the little things—like the way he cared for his home, or the way he offered you a place to stay when you needed it most—you saw his quiet strength.
And, despite his belief in self-sufficiency, you couldn’t help but wonder if, maybe, for just a moment, you could be the one thing he’d allow himself to rely on, too.
That night, as you both sat by the fire, Kinich spoke again, his voice quieter than usual.
“You’re welcome to stay as long as you need.” he said, not looking directly at you but still offering the words with sincerity.
You nodded, your heart swelling with gratitude. “Thanks, Kinich. I… I really appreciate it.”
He gave a small, almost imperceptible nod. “It’s not charity. It’s just… practical.”
But the warmth in his eyes told you everything you needed to know.

oh my godddddddddddds im backk its 🌙
maybe someting where kinich and the reader are dating and jealous of mualani for something he did to help her that he never does for reader?
Okay so in this idea I've made reader a weapons dealer (why tf can't I remember the name of the profession smh?) and Ajaw gives you some useful advice.
Part of this fic has headcanons not really linked to the character, but more to the fic idea.
--
Your boyfriend was not the best at keeping his weapon safe - that much that you landed up knowing him through his visits to your stand, asking with a hint of embarrassment added in every time he made yet another visit to your shop for another claymore. Over time, you had grown fond of him, and you asked him out.
Surprisingly, he said yes.
When you hang out, which was rare because of his line of work, you told him more about yourself than he was willing to tell you. At first you thought he was just getting more familiar with you, but after a while you get wary. You had given him a decent discount for weapons - basically free whenever he needed once since you begin dating.
But then you saw how he interacted with her. Mualani.
She effortlessly got him to talk, and you really didn't like the feeling in your chest when you saw them together, and Ajaw seemed bored whenever they were together. Ajaw would get put into time out regularly whenever he said too much, which happened whenever Kinich was being teased about how close he seemed to be to Mualani in comparison to you - his actual partner.
The last time he got put into time out, Ajaw manage dto get to you discretely. No idea how exactly, but you weren't about to ask questions.
"You're better moving on, _." Ajaw states. "You and I both know he's taking advantage of your deal."
"...My deal?" You ask, tilting your head.
You hadn't thought too hard about how often he seemed to visit your shop after you two became a couple, but it made sense how often he visited. He didn't even show shame with it after you both started dating, he seemed to think this was his side of the bargain as opposed to just being Happy about dating you.
"...Are you listening to me?" Ajaw yells, catching your attention. "It looks like you already know what I'm going to say. I'm stuck with Kinich, doesn't mean you have to be!" Ajaw cackles, sunglasses on.
"Thanks, Ajaw." You rub the back of your head awkwardly as you look over at Kinich who has now been hugged by Mualani. He never pushes her away, not did he seem uncomfortable with her hugs, which was the final nail in the coffin as he never wanted to get your affections.
Kinich walks over, pointing towards a Claymore as he asks for a price. When you give him the usual customer price, he shows confusion.
"What?" You ask innocently. "I can't keep giving you discounts when you keep losing merchandise. It costs materials, time and money to make these."
"Fair enough, sorry." Kinich smiles softly, an action you had only seen from him when he had spoken to Mualani. He places the mora on the table, you hand the weapon over, and he doesn't even wave as he leaves.
Mualani waves at you, cheery smile on her face, and you do the most pathetic wave before having to excuse yourself as you realised you fell for a guy that had only wanted you for your weapons at a cheaper price.
You realise that, in Kinich's eyes, you were nothing but a side character.

♡ | open arms ── kinich x reader !
synopsis: a bit of kindness can go a long way. at least, that was what the elders in kinich’s clans would often say. though in a land where war with the abyss is at a constant, he finds it difficult to truly believe such a notion. perhaps meeting you simply had the sole purpose of erasing those doubts that shrouded his mind.
additional: w.c 899 ⸝⸝⸝ content includes . . .gn reader, implied friends to lovers, character study www
( 💌 ) yuomi’s note: slowly but surely reverting back to my musical kid phase ty mr. jorge for creating epic and what better way to commend that than doing some kinich brainrot ^w^
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
natlan — a nation of eternal oaths and converging fires. where the sacred flame burns brighter with each chant of the epic hymn that echoes from land to sea, bringing back valiant warriors, now deemed heroes, anew.
yet beyond those blazing flames of ardent also lies a resplendent nation full of color and life. made up of magnificent gorges and valleys that stretch as far as the eye can see, vibrant fields where the saurians roam free, and rejuvenating springs that ease the weary, you'll find a unique beauty reflected within it all.
for most of his life, kinich had often found it difficult to view his homeland through the lens of the latter. since a young age, misfortune has always seemed to follow him wherever he goes, like a relentless beast chasing down its prey that's slowly becoming more and more exhausted. where no matter how far he soars, the shackles of a brutal reality always drag him back down. eventually, such experiences would sometimes render the lone saurian hunter an austere individual, whether intended or not. in his eyes, the world was but a tapestry of unbridled battles.
it was only after meeting you that, slowly but surely, kinich would gradually learn to appreciate the more charming aspects of life and even gain a sense of tenderness towards it. however, that still doesn't cause him to lower his guard completely.
"kinich, you're doing it again," you mused, the lush grass below softening your footsteps as you and your companion tread through the forest. the occasional murmur of wild animals hidden within the trees or nestled away in burrows echoes throughout.
hearing this, the male ahead of you briefly stops in his tracks to glance back at you with a puzzled look. "doing.. what exactly?"
stopping beside him, you motion at the weapon held in his hand. "gripping onto your sword so tightly that the tips of your knuckles are turning white. i swear… it's like you're expecting us to get ambushed out here any minute."
in response to your sigh though, he simply shrugs. "perhaps we will be."
"kinich, we barely took on this commission not that long ago, and we aren't even at our intended destination yet. i doubt we'll find ourselves walking into trouble so soon."
"better to be prepared for catastrophe before it strikes when you least expect it."
an air of laughter escapes from you then. "catastrophe," you repeat to yourself, head shaking in slight amusement. "we aren't exactly tackling the abyss here you know."
"no, but if we were, your lack of attentiveness would surely lead us to such." in between his pause, you catch sight of the subtle curl of his lips. "not even ajaw would be so heedless, and that certainly says something."
"you little…!"
balling your hand up into a fist, you immediately go to throw a punch on his arm that ultimately does not land when the now chuckling male catches it effortlessly. not that such a punch would've hurt him in the first place, but kinich is all for finding the humor in evading your poor attempts at attacking him. plus, you've managed to land a good punch or two on him before, although he blames ajaw for distracting him during those moments.
before you can pull your hand away from his grasp and unwillingly accept defeat this time, kinich intertwines his fingers with yours, holding your hand firmly. without saying another word, he turns to continue walking along with you at his side now.
due to your good-natured sense of self, it's often left kinich to be roped up in more conflicts than he'd usually expect: said conflicts are getting you out of trouble.
but even in the face of danger, you never cease to look for the good in others. while many have considered this trait of yours to be a display of naive foolishness, it felt like a breath of fresh air for kinich. while he was also considered to be different from those of his tribe concerning certain viewpoints and beliefs, you were an oddity that transcended beyond his own novel ideals. if you had not been born and raised in natlan, kinich would've surely mistaken you for being an outlander. even you had once jokingly said that perhaps you were actually a child of the anemo god, barbatos, that the wind had accidentally blown too far from home.
because, unlike the fierce fires that dwelt within the spirit of every warrior in natlan, your flame was akin to that of a candle: a gentle yet comforting light that simply wished to share its warmth with the world around them and kinich would do anything to keep that light of yours burning for evermore.
he'll never admit to you aloud, but he secretly thanks the anemo archon every day for sending him a beautiful soul such as yourself. your presence alone was as calming as a gentle breeze, and his love for you a sweet, sweet melody.
"speaking of ajaw, where is the little rascal anyways?" you ask, breaking the silence as you look around to find the creature that has strangely gone quiet.
"i sent him to scout ahead for a bit. he'll be back soon enough."
a soft smile creeps onto your face. you spare the male one more glance before giving his hand a light squeeze.
"of course you did."

bf!kinich headcanons!
simple life.
bf!kinich x gn!reader
author's note: hi i'm back with something new after a month or smth anyway i hope you guys have been doing well^^ (this one is basically about how you two live and i'm excited to write for kinich lmao i hope he's not ooc)
"you like it, no?"
Tumblr media
-(this man managed to become my favorite char after 3 years of scara)
-he's literally ideal like not only is he literally gorgeous, but he's also so fucking kind-hearted regardless of the fact that people see him as scary
-he's nonchalant but at he same time not at all
-anyways that wasn't the point
-he always wakes up before you somehow and if he has a commission early in the morning, he'll probably just kiss you goodbye and leave in silence
-but if he doesn't have any commissions early then enjoy the morning with him
-his good morning kisses are usually on your forehead, but you're sometimes lucky to get a kiss on the lips from him(he's such a good gentle kisser trust me)
-HE DOES THE COOKING IN THE HOUSE. NO EXCUSES. AND COOKS THE BEST FOOD EVER. (he's latino in my mind and i literally can't imagine him not cooking for his s/o)
-you can clean if you want but he's always cooking the best food ever and he loves doing it especially since he gets to see your happy face afterwards and your compliments for his cooking
-you two probably have a little garden near your house where he grows vegetables and you plant flowers all around as decorations
-if he ever comes home injured you're quick to patch him up and scold him about taking some random dangerous commission
-he says he won't do it again and that he knows exactly what you mean but it just keeps happening unfortunately
-i forgot to mention ajaw in your guys' relationship. well shit.
-he ruins any situation you have with him so that's the reason he's in timeout 90% of the time dw (the 10% is just arguing with eachother until kinich throws him to the sky)
-i believe he has ptsd in some way so nightmares might not be uncommon for him
-the worst this about it is that he would never tell you. never ever. he thinks it's not fair that you comfort him but he can't repay you in any way
-so even if you reassure him it's okay because he also comforts you, he always finds an excuse like "but i'm not good with words, my comfort isn't as valuable as your's."
-next up, he's probably not into pda
-sure you can hold hands and add a kiss here and there but it's nothing too much
-if you're into it, he'll try to make it up to you but it won't really work out too well so you can try to find a balance with him which will be easy for you both
-his love language is probably quality time with some additional physical touch and gift giving
-he has such gentle hands probably because he plays a lot of games(gamer kinich is undeniable)
-usually likes when you play with him because he finds it as something that builds your relationship further
-but if you just feel like watching him play that's alright as well like literally just sit on his lap while he plays some random game and you can fall asleep there because SOMEHOW he's pretty calm when he loses and doesn't exactly "rage" and just whispers "fuck/shit" or something
-he brings you trinkets from his commissions definitely especially when it's from somewhere far
-even the simplest things
-he'll make a bouquet out of random flowers and plants he found on the way and tie them together with some strong grass or something
-at night, when the both of you have nothing to do for the rest of the day, there's a few things you could do with him
-he could give you a massage, you could watch him play, you could play with him, he could simply cuddle with you, or watch a movie with you, or take a walk outside together, hang out with mualani and/or kachina, basically anything
-when he isn't with you he listens to the playlist he made to remind him of you
-loves when you send him videos of like cats and then say "us" because he finds it cute(he hearts every msg)
-very good at teasing but he doesn't do it often for whatever reason
-also doesn't really get jealous since he trusts you
-but he knows when you need him to protect you since you're like a rare emerald in his eyes
-doesn't break promises because he takes them really seriously
-if you suggest getting a pet(let's say it's a yumkasaurus in this situation) he would agree immediately
-he'll first of all explain to you everything you need to know about them and what they do, what they need and like
-and if you're okay with it in the end, then you can expect a yumkasaur as a present on your anniversary, birthday, or some holiday you celebrate
-he makes your birthday really special but ofc often forgets his own so when you surprise him it takes a second for him to understand the situation and then says you didn't have to
-finally, going to sleep with him is also perfect
-cuddles most likely, and if you prefer, he can play something simple like minecraft or stardew valley etc in bed next to you until you can finally fall asleep
-in simple words he's the perfect bf if his personality is what you're looking for :p
-(bonus for the people who also hc him as latino or simply spanish-speaking, he would definitely help you learn spanish if you don't already speak it. and if you also speak some other language he would love to try and learn it.)
~~~~~
DAMN this was long
probably because it was a random rush of motivation all of a sudden
i wish this happened more often smh i hope you all enjoyed anyway lol
title: OTHER DADDY~!
summary: why is it when it comes to you, he loses all rationality? he doesn't know. pairings: kinich x (intended) fem!reader. tw: mentions of cheating, angsty ending. notes: ahh first fic and i'm lowk stuck on how to continue this so, please annoy me with ideas for parts and other fics~! ↳ oh, and a lot of ideas in this fic were from the lovely @worriedvision <.33
He’s finally home.
After a long day of his Saurian hunting duties, all Kinich desired now was to spend some quality time with his family. He let out an exhausted sigh and his eyes drifted to the golden band on his finger, a wedding ring – a symbol of your love to him, the sweet marriage.
Entering the living room, he caught sight of his four-year-old son playing on his own, amusing himself with a toy Kinich had never seen before. There’s the faintest of smiles on his face, and he slowly strolled towards his little boy. Truly, Kinich was much more affectionate and warm with his precious little family than he was with anyone else, besides Kachina, or even Mualani.
“Hey, buddy,” he uncharacteristically grinned, ruffling your son’s hair. “How are you? How’s your mom?” Kinich flopped down on the sofa and was ready to rest now, oh, finally.
Your son beamed, clearly ecstatic to see his dad. “Goood!! Mama’s up.” he snuggled closer to Kinich. Nothing was said for a few moments, and noticing your son’s fixation on his new toy, he decided to ask about it, with the assumption that you had bought it for him recently. Or maybe he’d always had the toy, but that Kinich hadn’t realized, and when Kinich considered the latter, he couldn’t help but feel a little pang of remorse if it was true; it was another sign that Kinich spent far too long apart from his family.
“Where did you get that toy from? I’ve never seen it before.” Kinich questioned nonchalantly, not at all expecting what he was about to tell him.
“Other daddy gived me.” your son stated, as if that sentence was a perfectly normal one to say, and he shrugged a little, looking down at his toy. At first, Kinich did not register what had been said, but when it clicked–
“Who?”
“Uh-huh, other daddy. Mama and other daddy are up… in… Mama’s bedroom and yours one.” your son answered quietly.
Despite the kid’s basic speech, Kinich understood this perfectly – a mysterious man he had never heard of before, with his wife in their own room, and on top of that? His own son was calling this man his “other daddy”, which, had the child not called him by this name, such doubts would not have crossed his mind, perhaps… but he did not know. He did not know that he could be so distrustful. So apprehensive.
That was a mistake on his part, really.
“And… How long have we known him? How long has he been coming here?” Although it wasn’t showing on his face, he was a little confused. He tilted his head, and then the idea of infidelity slowly plagued his mind.
Pragmatic and rational, these are two of the many words used to describe him. Still, if at that moment someone was looking at him, they wouldn't be able to tell if it was true at all.
“He come home… sometimes. He brings Mama and me gifts.” the small child, of course, could not tell what was going through his father’s mind. Kinich had often thought he was absolutely blessed. To have won the heart of an attractive, caring and sweet lady such as yourself. And then to have fathered the child of said lady, but now his blessings seemed to have run out. He always knew it was too good to be true.
Or, perhaps, he was just misjudging the situation, with nothing to go off of than his son’s innocently childish sentences, but… he couldn’t just assume. Suddenly, his heart felt heavy with dismay. He’d do this calmly, hopefully– and he’d wish. He’d wish that this was not what it looked like.
The trip from the living room to your shared room usually takes just under a minute. But with his lethargic speed, he’d guess it was a whole ten minutes before he had gathered enough courage to do it. To confront you.
The closer he crept towards your shared room, the more he could hear it– your captivating, melodious voice… more chirpy than usual, he had closely noticed today– but also the unfamiliar, deep and throaty voice of which he could only assume was the “other daddy” his son mentioned a little while earlier.  A wave of jealousy washed over him, and taking a deep breath, he slowly pushed open the door.
To describe what he saw… Well, it was… an odd sight. To see the love of his life smiling so naturally and so brightly, Kinich thought that he had never seen you laugh like that with him, not even on the day you two got married.
Next to you was a rather tall man that had to be at least double your age. Not that Kinich noticed this in time– the man looked rather young, or at least somewhat younger than the age he really was, but Kinich did not overlook how comfortably he was sitting next to you on the bed.
His heart sank as a few excruciating seconds passed, genuinely shocked that you hadn’t even seen your dear husband standing at the door through your peripheral, you were that consumed in your conversation? After a few moments, he cleared his throat in hopes of getting your attention.
At least you looked back?
When you did, though, he saw a bit of that bright light that illuminated your face so radiantly while talking to this strange man, dim a little, and needless to say that wounded him a bit? The love of your life came back home after not seeing you for a few days, and you can’t even look at him as excitedly as the man sitting next to you… maybe he was overthinking this, but in the end, who was this idiot, anyway? He just had to find out.
“(name)... good evening.” Kinich muttered simply. That wasn’t what he wanted to say at all, but honestly, what should he have said? Done? He just stayed silent. Stood there, stone-faced and unreadable, and yet, underlying sense of accusation with the way he gazed at you.
“Oh! Kinich-”
Nope. He didn’t hear any of what you said after that, though you seemed very cheerful when speaking… Anyways, his eyes were fixed upon the surroundings. How you grinned while looking at him, how the man smiled looking at the two of you, not that Kinich realized that a smile was indeed directed to him.
How the man took his turn speaking, not failing to call you pet names in front of himself, because who has the gall to do that anyway? My dear, my sweetheart… you don’t notice how Kinich doesn’t listen to anything. Clenches his jaws. Tries to suppress anger. And for what reason, one might think.
What he did was impulsive and foolish, now he thinks. Kinich should have spoken to you, told him about his feelings… but he couldn’t do that. Couldn’t let you know that he was feeling jealous of another man in your room, his own son having the confidence to call him what he did-
Maybe children utter nonsense sometimes, but maybe that nonsense stems from something that is true… perhaps the title of “other daddy” came about due to things his son had heard… no, he didn’t want to go there.
So, Kinich opted to kiss his son a goodbye kiss as he slept. Kinich actually had the initial intention of spending a few nights longer in his work, but in the end, that’s not what he did. Too scared that you would feel hurt by him not telling you that he wasn’t coming back for nearly a month, or that, perchance, your son had heard all those poured out feelings, when Kinich told everything to his sleeping form, and he was not really sleeping?
Whatever it was, it made Kinich feel cold all over again.
It’s silly, especially for a person like him. But he can’t take it… he would honestly hide away from his own insecurities than stay by you, ignorantly going on with his day. He should have spoken to you. Oh, Kinich…
You realized far too late who’s “daddy” that really was. And you can’t take back what happened after that. And Kinich?
There’s a reason why you didn’t think you deserved your blessings.
Kinich x Reader
Where Kinich breaks up with you before going to War, but you make him listen to you
Tumblr media
(Oh, wow. I got excited writing this. 0.9k words, it's longer than usual! Although I liked the result, I think it could have been a little more angsty :( I dedicate it to 💗, who asked me for it in a request. I hope you liked it, I hope you'll write to me again sharing your opinion <3)
Twilight covered Natlan in a blanket of red and orange hues, a cruel irony for Kinich, who felt the heat of the fire and the weight of duty burning in his chest, almost to the point of burning him. He had spent his entire life preparing for this war, for the battle against the Abyss, but he never thought that facing danger would mean giving up what he valued most in his life: you.
The decision had been clear when the clan elders made it. The modern heroes, each a bearer of the Ancient Names, must march to the Night Kingdom, that dimension where the shadows of the Abyss were stronger, fiercer, and where Natlan's very nature was at risk. Although the Pyro Archon had returned, the Ode of Resurrection was weakened. This time, there was no guarantee of returning, not even for him, one of the promising warriors.
He waited for you under the shade of a tree, his gaze lost in the landscape that could be the last he would see. When you finally approached, he swallowed hard, his words stuck in his throat. He loved you, and that made it harder, more unbearable.
“Kinich, what’s wrong?” you asked softly, noticing his tense expression. You’d seen Kinich in battle, on hunts, in times of fighting, but you’d never seen him so dejected. He looked as if he carried the weight of the sun itself on his shoulders.
Kinich let out a heavy sigh, unable to look directly at you. He wanted to take you away from the storm, from the uncertainty, protect you from the anguish that an endless wait could bring.
“I’m going to go to war,” he said, his voice rough, his words like stones falling to the ground. There was no time for you to respond before he continued. “And I’m not going to ask you to wait for me. It wouldn’t be fair to you. It’s not safe… If I don’t come back…” It seemed like Kinich was talking to himself at this point. He focused, though, his gaze turning colder as he looked away.
"Nevermind. I'll say it straight. I'm breaking up with you."
Your silence was a blow. You knew of the war, you knew the stories of warriors lost in the Night Kingdom, trapped by the Abyss, waiting without a glimmer of hope. But the Kinich you knew was not someone who gave up so easily.
“Do you think you can decide that for me?” you asked, intense sadness coloring your words. “I don’t want you to disappear like a shadow in history, Kinich! Not after everything we’ve been through together!”
He pulled away slightly, his eyes staring at the ground, as he struggled to put into words the fear that tormented him.
“I don’t want you to suffer waiting for something that might not happen, do you understand?” he said in a whisper. There was an echo of vulnerability in his words that was rare for him, someone who had always faced adversity with his head held high. But this time it was different. This time, fear was a shadow he couldn’t chase away.
You hesitated only a moment before taking a step towards him, raising a hand to touch his face, forcing him to look at you. His gaze was a storm of emotions; fear, love, guilt, and something deeper, darker.
“Listen to me, Kinich,” you said, your voice firm even though your hands trembled slightly. “Natlan has survived because of warriors like you, but also because of those left behind, those who remember. Don’t ask me to forget you, or ask me to prepare to lose you without even trying. If you decide to leave, you will do so with the promise that I will do everything in my power so that, whatever happens, your Name will never be forgotten.”
Kinich closed his eyes, feeling the weight of your words. It was a promise and, at the same time, a plea. For a moment, he imagined what it would be like to let you go, to erase the trace of shared memories and think of you only as a distant figure, a dream he had given up on. And that thought tore at him.
“Why can’t you let me do this?” he asked in a low, almost desperate tone. It wasn’t an accusation, but a confession of his helplessness.
“Because…” Your voice broke, and you took a deep breath before continuing. “Because I love you, Kinich. Because this isn’t just a war; this is our life, and if I lose you in the Night Kingdom, then I will lose a part of me as well. If you fall, you will fall knowing that someone here will remember you. I don’t want a life without you, even if it means waiting, even if it means risking it.”
Those words finally broke through Kinich’s defenses. He felt the resolve he had built crumble, and he hugged you, a gesture that contained all the fragility he had tried to hide. The weight of the war, of his responsibilities, vanished for a moment as he felt your closeness, as he absorbed the comfort you offered, even if it was only temporary.
“Promise me that if I come back, there will be no regrets,” he murmured, searching for some certainty amidst the uncertainty.
You stroked his hair gently, whispering your words with a devotion that gave him the strength he needed.
“I promise you, Kinich.”
Here is my masterlist, in case you are interested in any more of my work or want to send me a request <3
I wanna grow a family with you.
Tumblr media
Kinich x fem! reader
warnings: suggestive, but no smut, gore, Mualani being the most thoughtful girl ever😍 pregnancy, miscarriage, sexual abuse taken place (not mentioned but its implied), Established relationship with kinich, kinich being the best husband ever omfg. MODERN AU
Notes: THIS IS MY FIRST FINISHED ONE SHOT YALL OMFG
October 6th, 20**
It was 3 AM, you suddenly got the urge to cook yourself a midnight snack —well, more like morning snack—. You go into the kitchen to find a box of cereal and some fresh milk to aliviate your hunger.
As you're eating, you scroll down instagram reels to find a variety of videos about mothers taking care of their children, and you find yourself craving to experience that motherhood, "It's just baby fever, it'll pass." you whisper to yourself.
It infact did not pass, waking up you find yourself suddenly thinking of how you and your husband —kinich, would raise your child together, would your child be as quiet as Kinich? Or would they babble whenever they get the chance? You continue to lay in your shared bed, zoning out with the fantasies of you and kinich growing a family together.
Kinich stirs awake, immedietly pulling you into his embrace as he takes in the scent of your hair, you don't know whether you should tell him about how you feel ready to take care of a family with him, so you just dig your face into the crook of his neck.
November 11th, 20**
Preparing for Kinich's birthday was relatively difficult, knowing your husband was more fond of relaxing in the quiet whispers of the wind while laying down on the grass, you couldn't do a picnic, since Kinich usually comes home at around 5 PM, so you decide that for his birthday, you'll cook his favorite dish, give him your gift you've been hiding from him for a week now, and lastly, offer him his own family to love and cherish.
In 2 hours, he'd arrive home, which gives you enough time to organize the decorations around the guest room, alongside the table is a few of his favorite desserts and snacks, and in the middle of it is placed a beautiful cake with his theme, and a few silly drawings of you and him getting married. You had just drawn 5 papers of you and him in different scenarios, you and him when you were children, you and him as Wendy and Peter Parker, you and him as loving cats, you and him as , and finally, you and him, as you and him... with a child???
You contemplate whether you should keep this child, you didnt even know if theyd inherit your genes or his genes, it felt weird, but you guessed this could work as a real life foreshadowing, "If he notices this, then I can just easily bring up the topic, and...wait for his response to all this.." you think to yourself. quickly sticking the different drawings somewhere random but visible enough for him to notice.
Kinich arrives home, the light's absence not going unnoticed by him.
"[Name]?" he calls out, a slightly worried tone applied to his call, removing his shoes and placing his bag at the hook of the door before hurrying his steps to the guest room.
Light suddenly flashes his eyes as a loud familiar tune fills his ears, a loud, birthday-like tune--?
Kinich opens his eyes to find green and pixelated decorations around the room, as well as a small yet beautifully made cake at the center of the diner table, written on it was "Happy birthday Kinich! -Your bebz".
While checking the decorations around the room, Kinich suddenly feels weight behind him, soft arms wrapping around his waist. He quickly turns around to be met with your joyful expression, "Happy birthday! Do you like the decorations?" He doesn't smile back, looking around the room as if he's supposed to rate it. "C'mon! You know you like it!!" Your pouting face is not unnoticed fortunately, he smirks to himself, "could've added a few decorations on that empty wall", he points at the ONE wall you didn't decorate. You roll your eyes at him before grasping his hand to start the activities you planned to do with him for his birthday.
Kinich sits down at the table, finally finishing a slice of his cake after almost covering your face with frosting. Throughout the fun, he noticed your eyes seemed to wander to the fridge, he initially thought you just seemed hungry, but decided to look back at what made you so interested into the fridge.
A badly drawn version of the two of you, except theres a third person, a very short person..
You catch his gaze on the drawings, "Oh! Yeah, uh...Kinich, you know...", he gazes back to you
"I wanted to tell you something for weeks, and I just want to know what you think is all." You fidget your hands, avoiding his gaze
"Is there something bothering you?" he asks, you sigh as you reply, "yes, kind of, I- I wanted to know what you think of..having a uhh..." you stumble on your words, just realizing how nervous you are for his response to what you're implying.
"What's wrong? tell me", He grows closer, gently clasping both your hands, rubbing his thumb to soothe you. You gulp and exhale in an attempt to relax yourself before speaking,
"I want to have a baby with you," you shakily state up, he pauses to process your words, he seemed hesitant, even.
You frown, knowing that he does not seem to react well with the news. You hear him sigh before replying with a question, "Are you sure?" He suddenly questions, you gulp. "I will support you with our child, but I want to know that you yourself is prepared for this change," he looks up to you in all seriousness. You avoid his gaze, thinking deeply about this, turning your head back to him, you decide, "yes, I want to create our family, and take care of them by your side," you answer, smiling lightly.
his hand drops your left, bringing the right one to his lips to lightly kiss, even then, you could feel the affection he held for you in that kiss, "then, for my birthday...will you give me this gift?" he asks with a new emotion reflecting in his eyes.
You wake up, memories of last night flooding back to you as you look around, noticing the lack of clothing between you and Kinich. Feeling sick, you quickly feel that this is one of the signs you're pregnant, and hurriedly run to the bathroom to relieve that sick feeling.
Kinich groggily wakes up, quickly running a hand up his hair as the events of last night had transpired back to him. Red creeps up his face as he tries to find you with his hands.
The left side of his bed is empty, and he peeks an eye to find that you're nowhere near his sight, panic arises in him to quickly put on a piece of clothing and find you.
Kinich hears gagging sounds from downstairs and immedietly finds that you're experiencing one of the common symptoms of pregnancy. He opens the bathroom, finding you near the toilet seat, he quickly walks to you to hold your hair from your face while rubbing your back to help you relax. You look up to him and smile, and even with the current situation, he finds that you're glowing beautifully in his eyes.
December 23, 20**
You're finally confirmed to be pregnant, Your belly growing slightly more and more each week, Kinich thinks he can't possibly find you more beautiful than you are right now.
Kinich though can feel tired at times, specially with your mood swings affecting how he feels each day, whenever you're happy, he feels happy, but if you find yourself upset at a random movie scene, or whatever could've possibly hurt you emotionally, he gets just as upset with you.
Speaking of emotions, you seem to be excited this month, Kinich thinks.
You've been pent up since New Years, and you seem more clingy to Kinich than ever, lightly stroking his arm before holding his hand, curling into his arms just to softly bite his jawline. He slightly shivers at your teeth,
You breathe out his name, "I've missed you.." you whisper into the crook of his neck, "Even before New Years, you've got way more commissions than ever, and I've been feeling deprived, you know..?" you mumble, your voice vibrating against his neck, suddenly, he feels like he knows exactly what you want, and he will gladly oblige in what you need.
Kinich softly pushes you from his neck, grabbing your nape to kiss you feverly, his lips merging into yours perfectly, he grabs your waist to pull you closer as he pulls away "I missed you too", he breathes out, his deep voice filling your ears, pecking your lips to make you feel a portion of how weighed his words were, you tighten your arms around him to kiss him again. He kisses back eagerly as he gently goes on top of you, his raven colored bangs brushing your face as you continue to make out. You both part to take back oxygen, your hands dropping to the side of your head as your chest heaves. Kinich gazes his darkened eyes into yours as he goes near your jawline to pepper kisses down your neck to which you turn to the side to give him more access while you hold onto the nape of his neck.
He pulls away softly to eagerly remove his tight shirt, revealing his soft yet defined abs, you sit up to mischieviously smirk, knowing you successfully got him to do exactly what you wanted from the start. His expression dead serious, yet he softly smiles at you before you gesture for him to help you remove your shirt.
Kinich starts to trail his kisses from your bare chest down to your visible bump, making sure his kisses were light as feather as to not pressure you. He goes back up to kiss your collarbone, your whines hitting his ears knowing you wanted him to continue to dive deeper down there. "Patience", he states firmly to keep you in check, lightly pecking your lips before finally lowering his face to your thighs.
"Hahahah!!!!" You laugh outloud at a gumball episode, Kinich observes your weird obsession with this show ever since your pregnancy has been confirmed, and whenever he thinks u cannot be more strange than ever, you manage to prove him wrong every time.
"Kinich, did you catch what he said??? I'll rewind it for you!" You eagerly state outloud, Kinich nervously sweats trying to find what's so funny before you become upset like the last time, which you rewinded atleast 4 times before your mood became ruined for the rest of the day. "ah, Hahaaa....." he tries to laugh right after gumball has said one of his corny jokes, to which you huff and glare at him. Confused, he looks at you weirdly before you state "that was not the joke i wanted you to laugh at ". Thankfully, he had bought one of ur strange cravings he predicted that you'd have earlier and quickly fed it to you before your mood became sour once again. Well, now he knows how to avoid ur angry side.
Kinich arrives home early, with the house being eerily quiet, he quickly throws his bag by the floor, walking up the stairs to check on his shared bedroom to find his beloved wife sleeping soundly on her back, his eyes quickly landing on her rounded belly, mood softening, he kisses her forehead and holds her hands, kissing her soft knuckles. He drops her hands gently before caressing her belly, quickly landing a kiss affectionately on her side before going to the bathroom to change his ragged up clothes.
March 09, 20**
Nearly 5 months have passed, and the baby seems to be growing some consciousness to finally kick in ur belly. You feel the thump as you wake up, realizing that the baby has shown its first signs of communication, you look at Kinich's sleeping face, his long lashes lightly batting as he stares into your glimmering eyes, you trace your hands down his arm to grab onto his hand, guiding it to your rounded belly, "they're kicking..!" you whispered, looking down to your stomach, relieved at the thought of your baby growing healthy. Kinich feels the light thumping against his hand as his eyes widen, quickly rubbing around your belly to check if the baby's kicking anywhere else. At this, you lightly chuckle at his curiosity. Pausing his search, his gaze lands on your face bathed by the sunlight behind the curtains, silently admiring your growing beauty each day. "Have I told you, you're beautiful?" he slightly smiles at your pause before you chuckle lightly, flustered at his compliment.
The hospital light sickens you slightly, as you wait in the cold bed, you initially wanted to make a gender reveal party, but as soon as the doctor entered, your curiosity got the better of you. "Would you like to know the gender of your child?" Kinich looks at you before answering, you quickly nod at his unsaid question, before he nods to the doctor.
Girl, your child would be born as a girl, you quickly look around the dresses you could dress your child in around the baby shop. Kinich holds the cart, his green eyes glued to your figure running around, excitedly checking out whatever could make your baby look like a disney princess, "Kinich! Tell me this dress wouldn't make my princess look like Aurora herself!" Your eyes squint in eagerliness as he finally lands his gaze at the pink puffed dress. It looks huge, but I guess that's what the term "princess" is for, he thinks, he sighs outloud before agreeing with a nod, your squeals vibrating in his ears.
June 12th, 20**
June felt like torture, and you have never felt more tired as the day goes by, Kinich's work taking up more of his time, leading to lack of quality time shared between you two, Your belly felt like it'd explode at any moment due to how heavy it was.
You stayed over at Mualani's house, mainly to catch up and just hang out with her. Initially, you planned to stay over for 2 hours, due to how late you woke up, but the hours passed by faster than you thought, and the night felt darker than ever.
"Hey, you can sleep over here, I wouldn't want you to go out at night alone." Mualani informs, not wanting to risk you into danger out in the night. "I can call Kinich to pick me up, for now I'll just stay in until he comes by if that's fine", you state to her, her excited squeals filling the house as you chuckle.
Kinich knew something was wrong, the person who commission and the idea of the commission was ridiculous itself. He knew he shouldn't have taken this commission, and to make matters worst, he didn't have his phone. Waking up late and leaving in a rush was a huge mistake, with all this stress, he couldn't come up with a way to contact you at all. Apparently, this guy had been ranting on and on about losing a certain family jewelry around an abandoned area, and with Kinich's breakfast deprived brain, unfortunately agreed without asking for more information about what this jewelry even looked like. Stupid, utterly stupid, he thinks to himself, spouting curses everywhere. Looking at the clock on his wrist, he thinks, an Hour from now, and if I don't see a shining glimmering shit, I'll leave, he looks back up to search further in the dusted area.
Kinich hasn't replied, and it's 10 PM, your constant glance at your phone in hopes to get atleast one notification from him worries Mualani.
"He hasn't answered yet?" Mualani questions, thinking deeply before writing X on the center of tic tac toe board you've been playing for atleast 30 minutes from now. "I'm scared. Maybe he has arrived home and he's worried, I knew I should've left a note for him at the fridge", you sigh, writing O on the bottom right of the tic tac toe board. "You know, if that's true, maybe you should just stay here, he's probably tired and can't drive back here to fetch you, not to say he's selfish, but I think it's way safer for you to stay here than go back home." Mualani advises, placing her X on the top left of the board. "I don't know.. I'm really sorry, but I don't think I could even sleep without knowing he's alright." Your eyes droop down, writing O on the top right of the board, Mualani doesn't respond, interrupting your near-victory with her X placed in the middle of ur O's, "I could drive you there, if we see that the lights are open, we can safely assume that he's arrived, if the lights are off, we're coming back here." Mualani says, easing your worries by a slight.
Kinich indeed couldn't find that God Forsaken family jewelry, and what surprises him is how dark the night is, his eyes widen, checking the time.
Kinich fucked up, badly, he ran back to his office as quickly as he could to gather all his belongings. He'd arrive late at times, but never this late. Kinich just hopes you weren't too worried to go out and look for him yourself, specially in the dark of the night.
You were sat at the passenger seat of your car, with Mualani rambling about one of her friends backstabbing her. Her rambles were tuned out due to your worried thoughts wandering back to Kinich, has he gotten himself in trouble? Is he safe, at home? Why isn't he replying at all??
Mualani's voice suddenly toned down to total silence, you break out of your thoughts and see that your house has been lit up, and the door's slightly opened. You eagerly open the car door, thanking Mualani. "Hey! Let me walk you to your house, your belly's practically popping out, jeez.." Mualani hurriedly leaves the car to help you walk to your house. "I can take it from here, thank you so much", you smile at her, incredibly relieved to have Mualani around, "ya sure? I can help you around the house, infact I can stay over you know!" Mualani muses, "I'm pregnant, not diseased, get it right!" You sarcastically reply to her.
"All jokes aside, you suree you can take it? It won't bother me at all to help around the house", Mualani says, you can catch a worried tone in her words, "I'll be fine. Kinich seems to be here anyways, he'll help me around." You reply, suddenly your throat felt dry, something was off. "Oh yeah!.. Totally forgot he was here," Mualani says briefly, you could tell even she felt something off. "Hey, you know-, I mean, I'm not trying to intrude, but I'll just look around with you", she says. In hopes of finally easing her worries, you agree.
Kinich anxiously waits in the taxi, his hair bothering him more and more as he tries brushing them out with his hand. Something's really wrong, the guy who had commissioned him was the cause of all this stress, one of the questions Kinich wonders is why he didn't bother leaving a note. He had said it himself he wanted the jewelry found within the day, if he really had left some sort of jewelry, he'd have atleast compensation for the trouble of trying to find it. Kinich slowly processes this, as his eyes widens.
Kinich rushes hastily around the house, quickly packing his bags to leave.
"Kinich!" Kinich pauses for a second, about to respond that he's late to work, and he can't afford to hear yet another one of his boss' lectures about latecomers.
You hurriedly step down the stairs, Kinich worries at the speed with your current state. "Kinich, your phone! You nearly left it." you frown quickly putting it in his bag.
"Thank you", he replies briefly, pecking your forehead before leaving the house in hurried steps.
Oh what the fuck. The phone's been in his bag the entire time. he messes around his bag in search of his phone.
How could this get worse, one sigh of relief and suddenly you find yourself in a more fucked up situation. His phone was nowhere in his bag. This is bad, really bad..
You and Mualani walk around the house, the door was unlocked this entire time. This worries you further, the fact that Kinich's work stuff is nowhere to be seen makes you feel a lump forming in your throat. Mualani continues to firmly hold you close to her, looking around to see if anything's suspicious.
"I have a really bad feeling about this" Mualani states, helping you with absolutely nothing to ease your worries. "I don't think he's even home", you speak up. "Did you leave the door unlocked?" Mualani questions you, you reply with a shake of your head, "I always leave the door locked, that's why I initially thought Kinich was at home due to the door being unlocked, even though its unlike him to leave it fully unlocked." You speak, processing your words before you realise how bad the situation really is.
Mualani looks over you, her eyes widened in realisation that...someone had broken into your house.
Before you can even think of calling the police, Mualani drops to the ground, red liquid slowly appearing from under her. You look around in panic to see what made her drop to the ground, and lock gazes with an armed man.
Kinich finally arrives, deciding it'd be less time consuming to just walk 10 minutes to his home.
There's something happening, Kinich thinks, no, feels. Something terrible is happening, and with second that passes, Kinich feels more worried than ever, he has to hurry home.
Kinich finally catches a sight of his house, lights are off, but that bad feeling won't go away, infact, it feels like something irreversible has happened by the time he even left his office.
Kinich hurries his steps before resolting to a full sprint back to his house. He arrives at the door, looking around, he sees a familiar car parked at the front of his house. He turns back to the door, quickly trying to open it before realising it has been locked. Kinich searches in his bag further to find the key.
Kinich heaves, his key is nowhere to be found. Kinich's eyes widen in realisation
That man that commissioned him,
That man that had lost a "family jewelry",
That man that for sure took his belongings,
Kinich doesn't complete the thought, rage filling his body before he drops his bag to repeatedly hit the door in hopes to break it down.
Kinich grunts as he breathes out heavily before hitting the door with his side. This is useless, Kinich looks around to the glass window of his house, grabbing his bag to walk away from the window. He silently calculates the range of his throw, before finally launching his bag, shattered pieces of glass loudly hitting the concrete. Kinich couldn't care less before carefully entering the house, stabbed shards digging in his skin.
He looks around the house, and quickly spots Mualani's bleeding body on the floor, his breath caught in his throat. Kinich quickly carries her to the couch, tightly wrapping her stabbed side, Kinich spots a knife.
Kinich does not want to imagine what you could be experiencing right now,
he whispers an apology to Mualani, before hurriedly checking each room of the house.
He passes by the bathroom, he hears a groan of pain,
you.
"[Name]!" he turns back to quickly enter the bathroom, greeted by the most sickening sight ever.
Your bare form, crouched with dark red liquid down your legs, as well as bruises found in each of your limbs, coughing up blood into your hands. Your eyes shakened in pure terror as tears trinkle down your swollen cheeks
Kinich waits anxiously outside your hospital room, the constant beeping sounds irritating him further, as well as unable to remove that ugly view out of his head. How could this have happened? What happened? Where is that man.
"Mr. Malipo?" Kinich perks his head up. The doctor gestures to come into a separate room across yours.
"The child has died due to the injures your wife suffered, they were assaulted and these hits were critical, especially targetted around her stomach." The doctor describes, Kinich holds the urge to puke at the mental image of someone so utterly sick in the head severely harming you.
Kinich can't go home, even if he did, he wouldn't even feel like he was at home, his house was a bloody mess, police were cornering all of it, families of Mualani and yours was overwhelming him with questions. "What happened?" He doesn't know, "how did this happen?" He doesn't want to know. All he wants to do is to see you.
Kinich can't stand sitting down here with his thoughts, seeing you all bruised was mental torture to him, and your unborn child..he doesn't know what to do.
"I need to see her", Kinich states to a nearby doctor. The doctor shakes his head, "Sir, We cannot let you in, we're trying our best to help her, and you will unfortunately be in the way, you can't see her, specially at this state." the doctor states firmly before speaking among his peers. Kinich glares into the back of the doctor's head before remaining sat into his seat, worries filling his head even further than before at the doctors words.
Kinich's finally allowed to see you after hours of waiting, he does not wait for the doctor's words before practically bursting through the door, rushing to your side. your bruises seemed to be less severe, yet still painful to look at. You bat your eyes open from someone tightly clinging to your hand, just to see your husband's green eyes slightly watering at your state.
Sleep slowly worns off of you before you realise why you're here at all, your eyes widens.
You look down to see your bruised stomach has sunk way lower than before. Way less round...
You free your hand from kinich before quickly sitting up to inspect your belly further. "Why's my baby like this?" Your eyes narrows as your eyebrows arch in stress, Kinich's green eyes looks down, finally spilling his tears he's been holding this entire time. Sadly, even with no words spoken, you understood immedietly what had occured.
October 3rd, 20**
Throughout the months, you still continue to grief over your unborn child.
Justice had been instantly served, the man who had broken into your house and physically harmed you had been arrested immedietly, serving a death sentence from the charges now, and the past charges he'd been accused of. Mualani, despite being stabbed, managed to hold on due to Kinich's help in holding her from bleeding out, to which, she fortunately survived.
Yet, Kinich cannot bear this sight of you, you're like a candle that's about to dim from the cold surrounding you, and Kinich, already losing his child, cannot bear to lose you —his beloved wife— too.
Kinich was cooking dinner this time, you layed down on the couch, quiet as ever. You haven't ate normally since then, and Kinich worries that you'll starve to death with this sudden change of routine.
"[Name]", he calls out,
you take a while to reply, he notices, about to call out for you again before hearing your voice hum out. He puts the cover on the pan before walking to you,
His weight dips the couch as you continue still as ever. Kinich wipes his hands on his knees before facing you.
"Would you like to...adopt a cat?" He hesitates to question, unsure if that could unintentionally trigger you. He stares at you to check on how you'd react.
To his surprise, your attention seems to finally land on him, and your eyes slowly lights up in interest before you speak up, "Can we...- I...really take care of them?" Kinich furrows his eyebrows, "We, and yes, what had transpired back then was not your fault", It was mine, he pauses in his thoughts before continuing "that sick man has nothing to do with how we are." he gently intertwines your hands together. bringing your hand to his lips to peck it affectionately.
Your eyes shaken at this, and turn watery at the thought, sitting up to pull your husband into your embrace, "do you blame yourself for what happened..?" You inquire. Kinich pauses, he doesn't reply, but he does dig his face deeper into your neck, you feel something wet soak it before you realise that it's his tears. You smile cheekily, trying to see his face, but his grip tightens into your waist as he sobs into your shoulders, gripping your shirt tightly as ever.
November 4th, 20**
On the way home after finishing up his work, Kinich drives back home, stopping by a nearby drug store to find something to snack on.
Closing the door, Kinich holds the paper bag in his hand, walking up to his parked car. He swiftly enters the car before turning on the engine, he looks up ahead to spot a..tiny black kitten. Kinich sighs before leaving the car.
Kinich reaches his arm to catch the kitten, but to his frustration, the kitten seemed to be playing games with him, running to the other side of the car whenever he got too close to his fur. Kinich grunts before reaching for his car keys, purposely making it beep to stunt the kitten before snatching the feline quickly before it could think.
Kinich hurriedly makes it run to the ground, before hesitating. You and him planned to have a kitten together, why not just take this one home? the kitten looked like it needed a home anyways.
Kinich hold the squirming kitten firmly before gently placing it on the passenger seat, the desperate screams of the kitten was not avoided, Kinich could tell this kitten probably did not have a good experience with humans, specially with a part of his head being bloody, this kitten was lucky to even survive a day out in the wild.
Waking up, you feel a weird furry feeling rubbing your neck before you blink and meet gaze with a strange black kitten and its big green eyes. You pause, before squealing in happiness. Kinich smiles before going to sleep, finally, this could be a new start for you.
before he met you, kinich didn't care too much about his life. just living it to the fullest with almost zero expression on his face.
but after learning what it was to love someone—everything changed.
not just anyone, but you. he loved you so much.
prior to the usual pilgrimages, he wouldn't really mind if he got revived or not, he did as much as he could. that's all he cares about somewhat.
but after learning what it's like to have someone to come back home to, someone anticipating a picnic night out at midnight... he couldn't just die anymore.
he'd always come right back to you. in your arms every year, the warmth reminds him of that fuzzy feeling of being in a field of dandelions.
freedom wasn't something he as a child was too familiar with, at least in a sense that included safety. family wasn't a thing to him back then, he never thought of having one at least.
of course it changed once he found you—fuck. now he couldn't imagine a life without you.
nowadays when he fights, he feels a stronger desire to kill whatever he has to, all that he needs to slash and burn so he can come back to those cozy nights in your shared house cuddling.
or those afternoons you both take ajaw out on a walk. maybe even the mornings where you spend in each other's hold, no words shared—complete silence that would speak for the both of you.
even if many things in his life had changed for the worse, you taught him that there are changes for the better.
it brought him to where he was now. dreaming about the life you both could live in the future. man just imagine the kids.
sorry if u guys expected angst, its kind of in a way but turned fluffy :)
Latino kinich who rejected fem!reader's love confession and got sick of her affectionate behavior towards him, so out of embarrassment and shame, miss girl avoided him like her life depends on it but our boy here didn't take her avoidance well 😭😭 it's somewhat angsty and you can ignore this if you want !!
esta dañada
Tumblr media
PLEASE REAS a/n: i’ve wrote this like three times and it got deleted everytime 😭 im really lazy and absolutely baked rn so once im sobered up if everykne hates this im rewriting it lmao also im learning spanish so i asked my bsf who is mexican for help so lmk if anything is wrong (i cant really describe the dancing but its called huapangos) cus this is loosely inspired by the song🫡 and if you want a pt 2
song to listen while reading:
———————————————————————————
He didn’t mean for his words to come out as rude as they did, he just wanted to tell you to tone down your affection. He knew he fucked up when even Ajaw shut up for once in his life.
“Oh..y-yeah sorry I didn’t mean to annoy you- ahah..”
He wasn’t blind. He could see how your eyes watered up even though you were smiling. The smile he loved but was annoyed by.
“You really messed up Kinich, she was one of the only people who could tolerate being around you”
He put the dragon in time out and watched as you left. He felt bad for saying it in such a cold manner but he can’t undo the past, he continued to sharpen his claymore as thought to himself; She’ll be back tomorrow.
.
.
.
It was a couple weeks since he last saw you, he felt weird not having your presence around. He tried convincing himself that it was alright and you just needed some time, he knew he was a bit harsh. He finished a commission and began to walk back when he saw you and a male from his tribe feeding a young yumkasaur. You looked happy. Smiling like how you did with him..did you always have that little twinkle in your eyes?
He knew the man, Yaotyl, you were hanging out with. He was popular amongst the women in the tribe; tall, handsome, charming, funny. Kinich stood there looking at you as you pet the little saurian, the man noticed him.
“Yo Kinich! What are you doing here?”
Hearing the name you quickly stood up and whispered something in your friends ear. He waved at him as you two walked away, well speed walked. Weird.. really weird.
“Hah! Told you! She realized how much of a jerk you really are and-”
He quickly threw the small dragon in a time out. Why did you leave so quickly? Did he hurt you that much? Since when were you close to his tribe members? Why did you leave without even waving to him? You didn’t even look at him.
He furrowed his brows as he saw you continue to talk to the male when you were a good distance away. He felt a small pang in his heart. You didn’t even look back.
.
.
.
Mualani was hosting a small celebration for Kachina’s.. something…he didn’t really pay attention to what she was saying. He turned to you and saw you dancing with your friends.. your laughs echoed through his ears. He saw you smile, your stupid smile, he hated it. It was the smile that annoyed him. At least that’s what he thought, the smile he did hate was the last one he saw, the last look you gave to him. He really regretted pushing you away..but there was nothing he could do right now so he just stood there watching as you danced with your friends only paying attention to your beautiful smile.
Su hermosa sonrisa
kinich x g!n reader, established relationship, angst, hurt/comfort, sfw, slight ooc kinich cus I'm still getting used to his character, not proofread as usual
a/n: well this is something.. stayed up til 2 to write what was supposed to be a quick one-shot that I would edit in the morning hahah. mostly testing the waters to see if people prefer hcs or fics. also I kinda wanna change the font so it's not boring but I'm a bit lazy.. enjoy ig?
“and don’t even deny it, i can see the look in your face when you’re weighing your ”cost” of a decision. god, you have it on your face right now!” you exclaimed, narrowing your eyes at him.
it was true - even at the very moment, in the middle of an argument, kinich’s face was scrunched up, eyebrows furrowing as he weighed the consequences if he argued back with you.
kinich sighed. “y/n. let’s not do this now, please. i’m tired and you’re tired - we should do this when we both have a clear head.”
you suppressed a groan of anger and stared at him accusingly, eyes spilling with annoyance. “no, i want to do this now. i’m sick and tired of running away from this conversation that you keep pushing back! do not blame this on just me being tired!”
kinich’s fist curled up in irritation. he was trying really hard to not lash out at you - nothing good would come out from that except for both of you getting hurt. his restraint was like a rope slowly fraying in the middle, waiting to be broken at any time.
instead, he placed his gaze on the floor so he wouldn’t have to see your face at the moment, and gritted his teeth. “y/n, you’re angry but it’s not-”
“stop stalling, for god’s sake! did you even hear me when i sa-”
the rope snapped.
he looked up at you with a piercing glare that radiated fury. startled, you cut off midway through your sentence, jaw still hanging wide open. a wave of nervousness quickly washed over you. kinich had never stared at you like this before, ever. you were too used to the small, affectionate gazes when he saw you smile or do something silly. no, this couldn’t be kinich. he wouldn’t st-
“no, y/n, I have been listening. if you don’t like that, then just leave.” he hissed.
you tried to tell him, despite the rising, underlying fear of your own boyfriend. “no, wait, but-”
if your throat didn’t close up at that exact moment, you wouldn’t have heard the words muttered under his breath as he stared back down at the floor again.
“i wish you’d just go already. you’ve been an nuisance from the start anyway.”
you froze. you could already feel the hot tears pricking at your face near the start of the argument, but now they spilled out, ruining your makeup and you had to bite your lip to refrain yourself from sobbing in front of him right then and there.
where did this come from? what happened to your loving and subtly caring boyfriend, kinich? you felt guilty now, you wanted to say sorry that you shouted out at him and started this whol- no, that’s what he wants you to do. then he wins.
so you swallowed down your apologies and forced your head downwards, not daring to meet his gaze. “fine.” you barely choked out, and clenched your fists as you stormed off to your (unfortunately) shared bedroom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the door creaked open slowly, and you could feel him shuffling in before gently closing it again.
“..hey.”
you were curled up on the bed, hugging your knees, and kinich could tell you had been crying. he moved over to just behind you, placing a tentative hand on your shoulder.
“y/n.. i’m sorry for all the things I said. I didn’t mean them.. it was- I was just frustrated in the moment, and.. I definitely shouldn’t have said the last part, i’m sorry. i’m.. not so good with words, but know that i’m speaking the truth when I say you mean a lot to me. i’m so lucky to have you in my life. I want you to know that I love you.”
there was silence after that. kinich paused, worried he said the wrong thing.
“i’m here for you, if you need me.”
the dam holding in all your tears broke.
you turned around, tears welling in your eyes, and flung your arms around him. kinich, although a little startled by the abruptness, wrapped his arms around your body warmly. you sniffed, blinking out tears as you pressed against him. “i love you too, kinich. it’s not all your fault - I shouldn’t have bursted out at you. you were right, I was tired, but I didn’t want to admit it just because of my pride.”
kinich rested his hand on your back, patting it softly. “it’s okay..”
you looked up at him, and he almost wanted to laugh. the contrast between his face and yours with tears staining, red eyes and nose and messy hair was.. kind of adorable. you spotted the small curve upwards on his lips and smacked him lightly. “stop it, i was tryna have a serious moment for once!”
you could feel him smiling as he pressed his lips gently against yours. “yeah, yeah, love you too.”

Ajaw ruins his relationship with you - Kinich
Gender neutral reader, angst. No happy ending here, borderline crack BC Ajaw is a cracky character let's be honest. Ajaws a little shit here
--
Kinich had, somehow, caught your eye enough for you to successfully land a date with him. One date becomes two, and the third one ends in you inviting him over for a drink. He accepts, and before you know it your home becomes a place for him to call home as well. While Kinich wasn't very emotive, he seemed to smile just a bit around you.
However, the couple affections you would expect from him in a relationship weren't coming. Nothing like kissing or hugging, and for a while you think it's because Kinich was not a touchy person. You also knew he was very busy with his work, which was why the first few times he left and told you not to wait for him you didn't think much. At the time, in fact, you were more attracted to him because he was honest with you.
"Don't wait up." He blankly states, every morning he leaves. If you're lucky, he comes back at night time only to sleep - he doesn't make himself any food or drink from your home.
You got suspicious of him when you were hanging out with Mualani, and she brought up the fact someone called Ajaw wouldn't stop nagging at Kinich. When you ask who Ajaw was, rather if this was his boss, Mualani laughs.
"Ajaw probably thinks so, but they bickering too often to do any work together." Mualani tuts. "Do you never hear Ajaw? That voice is so... Annoying to hear!"
"No...I've never met this Ajaw." You hum out, Mualani gasping.
"Tell me your tricks!"
--
Once you get home from your interaction with your friend, you've had enough time to think. After some long thinking, you come to a decision. You move the stuff that's Kinich's, leaving them by the front door, and add temporary locks in addition to the one your key locks until you can change the lock.
To your surprise, Kinich sounds surprised when he notices his bags out. You refuse to open the door, having more than enough time to waste as you had a day off, and Kinich defeatedly picks up his few belongings before leaving.
--
"Hah! You should see your face!" Ajaw jeers, Mualani and Kinich groaning out at Ajaws harsh words. "Good thing _ wisened up and realised they can do a lot better than some mortal being that can't even get himself a group of companions!"
"Because you always ruin things." Mualani sighs.
"Hey, I can't take credit for this one! I never even once spoke around _!" Ajaw shrugs, putting some sunglasses on.
"I was hoping to finally get to spend some time with them. I've finally got enough cover for a few days." Kinich states, seeming to realise what Ajaw did. "...Mualani, you know how annoying Ajaw is. Do you know if -"
"Oddly enough no! Honestly, I'm jealous. Ajaw doesn't know when to shut up."
"...It seems they do." Kinich massages his temples, Mualani making eye contact with him.
"...Do you think they were suspicious you were seeing Ajaw? Yuck!"
"Hey, I can hear you, ya know?!"
"It makes sense though. They don't know Ajaw isn't even human, and also isn't mortal."
"Hahaha! Oh boy, even I didn't think keeping my mouth shut around your potential love interests would give this benefit!" Ajaw cackles, seeing Kinich's hand flying towards him. "Hey, what are - AHH!"
--
You keep getting asked if Kinich is single, each time you saying he wasn't seeing you anymore before they seem excited to pursue a taken man. It's quite concerning, really, you think theres little dignity in being the other person in the relationship.
Kinich tried to talk to you, but each time you saw him you'd make an excuse for being too busy before hearing some weird child cackling and screaming in retaliation to someone reacting to them. As much as his hurt expression spoke to you, you still knew in your mind that Kinich was in a relationship.
Even if he wasn't, you would know in your mind that you were the second choice.
