title: OTHER DADDY~!
summary: why is it when it comes to you, he loses all rationality? he doesn't know. pairings: kinich x (intended) fem!reader. tw: mentions of cheating, angsty ending. notes: ahh first fic and i'm lowk stuck on how to continue this so, please annoy me with ideas for parts and other fics~! ↳ oh, and a lot of ideas in this fic were from the lovely @worriedvision <.33
He’s finally home.
After a long day of his Saurian hunting duties, all Kinich desired now was to spend some quality time with his family. He let out an exhausted sigh and his eyes drifted to the golden band on his finger, a wedding ring – a symbol of your love to him, the sweet marriage.
Entering the living room, he caught sight of his four-year-old son playing on his own, amusing himself with a toy Kinich had never seen before. There’s the faintest of smiles on his face, and he slowly strolled towards his little boy. Truly, Kinich was much more affectionate and warm with his precious little family than he was with anyone else, besides Kachina, or even Mualani.
“Hey, buddy,” he uncharacteristically grinned, ruffling your son’s hair. “How are you? How’s your mom?” Kinich flopped down on the sofa and was ready to rest now, oh, finally.
Your son beamed, clearly ecstatic to see his dad. “Goood!! Mama’s up.” he snuggled closer to Kinich. Nothing was said for a few moments, and noticing your son’s fixation on his new toy, he decided to ask about it, with the assumption that you had bought it for him recently. Or maybe he’d always had the toy, but that Kinich hadn’t realized, and when Kinich considered the latter, he couldn’t help but feel a little pang of remorse if it was true; it was another sign that Kinich spent far too long apart from his family.
“Where did you get that toy from? I’ve never seen it before.” Kinich questioned nonchalantly, not at all expecting what he was about to tell him.
“Other daddy gived me.” your son stated, as if that sentence was a perfectly normal one to say, and he shrugged a little, looking down at his toy. At first, Kinich did not register what had been said, but when it clicked–
“Who?”
“Uh-huh, other daddy. Mama and other daddy are up… in… Mama’s bedroom and yours one.” your son answered quietly.
Despite the kid’s basic speech, Kinich understood this perfectly – a mysterious man he had never heard of before, with his wife in their own room, and on top of that? His own son was calling this man his “other daddy”, which, had the child not called him by this name, such doubts would not have crossed his mind, perhaps… but he did not know. He did not know that he could be so distrustful. So apprehensive.
That was a mistake on his part, really.
“And… How long have we known him? How long has he been coming here?” Although it wasn’t showing on his face, he was a little confused. He tilted his head, and then the idea of infidelity slowly plagued his mind.
Pragmatic and rational, these are two of the many words used to describe him. Still, if at that moment someone was looking at him, they wouldn't be able to tell if it was true at all.
“He come home… sometimes. He brings Mama and me gifts.” the small child, of course, could not tell what was going through his father’s mind. Kinich had often thought he was absolutely blessed. To have won the heart of an attractive, caring and sweet lady such as yourself. And then to have fathered the child of said lady, but now his blessings seemed to have run out. He always knew it was too good to be true.
Or, perhaps, he was just misjudging the situation, with nothing to go off of than his son’s innocently childish sentences, but… he couldn’t just assume. Suddenly, his heart felt heavy with dismay. He’d do this calmly, hopefully– and he’d wish. He’d wish that this was not what it looked like.
–
The trip from the living room to your shared room usually takes just under a minute. But with his lethargic speed, he’d guess it was a whole ten minutes before he had gathered enough courage to do it. To confront you.
The closer he crept towards your shared room, the more he could hear it– your captivating, melodious voice… more chirpy than usual, he had closely noticed today– but also the unfamiliar, deep and throaty voice of which he could only assume was the “other daddy” his son mentioned a little while earlier. A wave of jealousy washed over him, and taking a deep breath, he slowly pushed open the door.
To describe what he saw… Well, it was… an odd sight. To see the love of his life smiling so naturally and so brightly, Kinich thought that he had never seen you laugh like that with him, not even on the day you two got married.
Next to you was a rather tall man that had to be at least double your age. Not that Kinich noticed this in time– the man looked rather young, or at least somewhat younger than the age he really was, but Kinich did not overlook how comfortably he was sitting next to you on the bed.
His heart sank as a few excruciating seconds passed, genuinely shocked that you hadn’t even seen your dear husband standing at the door through your peripheral, you were that consumed in your conversation? After a few moments, he cleared his throat in hopes of getting your attention.
At least you looked back?
When you did, though, he saw a bit of that bright light that illuminated your face so radiantly while talking to this strange man, dim a little, and needless to say that wounded him a bit? The love of your life came back home after not seeing you for a few days, and you can’t even look at him as excitedly as the man sitting next to you… maybe he was overthinking this, but in the end, who was this idiot, anyway? He just had to find out.
“(name)... good evening.” Kinich muttered simply. That wasn’t what he wanted to say at all, but honestly, what should he have said? Done? He just stayed silent. Stood there, stone-faced and unreadable, and yet, underlying sense of accusation with the way he gazed at you.
“Oh! Kinich-”
Nope. He didn’t hear any of what you said after that, though you seemed very cheerful when speaking… Anyways, his eyes were fixed upon the surroundings. How you grinned while looking at him, how the man smiled looking at the two of you, not that Kinich realized that a smile was indeed directed to him.
How the man took his turn speaking, not failing to call you pet names in front of himself, because who has the gall to do that anyway? My dear, my sweetheart… you don’t notice how Kinich doesn’t listen to anything. Clenches his jaws. Tries to suppress anger. And for what reason, one might think.
–
What he did was impulsive and foolish, now he thinks. Kinich should have spoken to you, told him about his feelings… but he couldn’t do that. Couldn’t let you know that he was feeling jealous of another man in your room, his own son having the confidence to call him what he did-
Maybe children utter nonsense sometimes, but maybe that nonsense stems from something that is true… perhaps the title of “other daddy” came about due to things his son had heard… no, he didn’t want to go there.
So, Kinich opted to kiss his son a goodbye kiss as he slept. Kinich actually had the initial intention of spending a few nights longer in his work, but in the end, that’s not what he did. Too scared that you would feel hurt by him not telling you that he wasn’t coming back for nearly a month, or that, perchance, your son had heard all those poured out feelings, when Kinich told everything to his sleeping form, and he was not really sleeping?
Whatever it was, it made Kinich feel cold all over again.
It’s silly, especially for a person like him. But he can’t take it… he would honestly hide away from his own insecurities than stay by you, ignorantly going on with his day. He should have spoken to you. Oh, Kinich…
You realized far too late who’s “daddy” that really was. And you can’t take back what happened after that. And Kinich?
There’s a reason why you didn’t think you deserved your blessings.

dominant men that still somehow manage to be needy and desperate when it comes to fucking you.
dominant men that get so horny from the simple sight of you, that they can't help but beg to ruin you; can't help but beg to fill you up and make you scream for them.
dominant men that can't help but be vocal. desperate grunts leaving his lips as his hips pound into you. "f-fuck.. your pussy is so fucking g-good. need to be inside you all fucking day." he'd growl in your ear, hands tight on your hips in a possessive manner.
dominant men who get so pussy drunk that they'll messily eat you out for hours, coercing you into release after release; overstimulating you because he can't get enough of your juices.
dominant men that still manage to maintain all control over you despite finding it hard to keep his cool whilst he's balls deep in you. "baby.. b-baby oh fuck- you're so good for me? so f-fucking good for me."
dominant men that pound into you from behind, tugging at your hair as he pants, edging ever so closer to his high. his thrusts becoming sloppy and lacking rhythm as he feels his hips twitch, body almost craving to bust his load.
dominant men who want nothing more than to pump your pussy with cum; begging to breed you, begging to leave your walls covered in release. the way his brain would go feral at the sight of his thick, gooie cum trickling out of your entrance.

Quick Kinich Brainrot.
Kinich sings the Ode of Resurrection a little louder and with a little more earnest when you're involved.
He doesn't notice it, but Mualani sure does. Kachina is none the wiser, she thinks Kinich treats everyone equally.
"Excited?" Mualani prods the said man on his side, grin as wide as ever, while waiting for the Ressurection to start.
"Huh?" Kinich asks.
Turns out he was none the wiser too. He thought he treated everyone equally.
"For Y/N to come back!" Mualani tries to hide the exasperation in her voice.
"...Isn't everyone?" Kinich simply says. Ajaw is surprisingly quiet.
Mualani has a retort at the tip of her tongue, but the ceremony starts. The eulogy is recited and the humming commences.
The ceremony is the same as it always is, and as the Pyro archon disappears into the Sacred Flame, people start to cheer and shout.
Kinich stays quiet. Eyes tacked on to the flame, shoulders tense, searching for the first sign of the Pyro Archon and you.
His mind doesn't quite register it when the Pyro Archon emerges from the flame carrying you in her arms.
The cheers continue, but when people start to notice that you're unconscious and asleep, the noise dwindles down.
Kinich masterfully swings himself over to meet the Pyro Archon, peering over at your face. "Is Y/N okay?"
"What's wrong with 'em? Psh. And here I thought they weren't one of the puny ones! Well at least it ain't a bag of bones!" Ajaw cackles, but constantly tries to circle around to catch a glimpse of your face.
"Trouble in the Night Kingdom," the archon replies. "They're fine, they just need a bit more rest to stabilize the Abyssal energy in them,"
Kinich steps back with a sigh.
The wave of panic that hit him settling down to ripples. Something similar had happened to Kachina before, in fact that time had been worse. Kinich hated to admit it, but he didn't feel half as scared back then than he did now.
What did that tell him?
He puts his hands forward "I'll take Y/N, archon. I'll take care of them," urgency and desperation mixed together in his voice.
The pyro archon had no doubt that he would, but shakes her head. "They'll have to stay here until the abyssal energy stabilizes, it could be dangerous to you as well,"
"But--" His response was automatic, and he had to stop himself from protesting.
Just take Y/N home. Don't let anyone else take them.
Repeated in his mind, over and over again. Home. You'll be safe there. He'll make sure of it. But he relents, and drops his arms to his sides. "...Okay,"
The pyro archon promises you'll be fine.
Kinich was a competent fighter. He was an ancient name bearer. He had fought so many battles and looked for many more.
But in this one simple and single moment, suddenly he wasn't so strong anymore.
His fear was bigger than his whole existence.

I just wonder...how Kinich would be like in aftercare? 👀
cw: implied sex the night before
literal sweetheart i tell you!!! he knows how rough he can be, and simply teasing the hell out of you definitely is not the solution; but he can make up for all the marks & lovebites he leaves all over your body.
oohhh he'd definitely kisses the marks on your body, acting like they're healed by the time he's done worshipping ur body hhhhh
probably takes you to the toyac region in natlan to clean you up, and help you relax.
probably hums you a lullaby he remembers hearing from his tribe. one that would always soothe his goosebumps, one that would always calm him nerves. wherein he would forget all his ninety-nine problems.
not to mention his voice is actually so nice to listen to <\3
i imagine he sort of sings like d4vd (specifically sleep well, go listen to the song!!)
probably teases you while cuddling. probably loves to talk to you while listening to your pulse match with his breathing speed.
it's as if the world stopped for the both of you. just to keep you close like this was rare enough. he's 9/10 times never ever cuddled like this w anyone (let anyone physically intimate)
kinich whose arms feel like a wave to earth song. one that could be played on any day, any time, anywhere. one that would help you focus on studying, or let you concentrate on that new prject you worked on while keeping your morale up
when loving starts to feel like saturn by sza with kinich, you know he really loves you. he never wants to lose you, keeping you close like how he loves the people he's close with.
he describes being with you to be like 'living on saturn' because he feels safe with you, he feels like he's in another dimension whenever he gets the chabce to even look at you.
he loves u sm pls marry him

Kinich
The argument was over his stubbornness. You had been walking beside him when you reached out to stop him from recklessly walking into danger.
“Let me handle it!” he snapped, brushing your hand away. But his hand caught yours with more force than he intended, pushing you slightly backward. You stumbled, tripping on a loose stone.
He immediately turned, his fiery gaze softening into alarm. “I didn’t mean to…” His voice faltered as he reached for you, pulling you upright with unexpected gentleness.
Later that night, he sat beside you by the fire. “I shouldn’t have acted like that,” he murmured, his golden eyes dim with regret. “Your safety matters more to me than anything, even my pride. I’m sorry for hurting you.” He carefully took your hand, tracing where he’d accidentally struck it, his touch filled with reverence.
Kazuha
The storm outside matched the intensity of your argument. Kazuha rarely raised his voice, but the disagreement had pushed him past his usual calm demeanor.
“I don’t need your pity!” he exclaimed, turning sharply. In his frustration, his shoulder bumped into yours, sending you back a step against the table behind you.
His eyes widened, his anger dissipating instantly. “Are you alright?” His hands hovered near you, unsure if you wanted his touch after what had happened.
Later, he stood with his back to you, his voice soft yet steady. “I’ve let my emotions cloud my judgment, and in doing so, I hurt the one person I cherish most.” He turned to face you, his gaze filled with quiet sincerity. “Will you let me make it up to you?”
Wriothesley
The argument had been brewing for a while, like steam building up in one of the massive pressure chambers in his domain. He paced the room, his usual composure slipping.
“Stop acting like you know what’s best for me!” he growled, throwing his hands up in frustration. One of them accidentally brushed against your arm with a surprising amount of force, pushing you slightly into the doorframe.
The sound of the impact made him freeze. He immediately crossed the space between you, his hands cradling your face. “Did I—did I hurt you?” His voice was low, filled with panic he couldn’t hide.
He spent the rest of the evening by your side, an ice pack in hand even though the mark had already faded. “I shouldn’t have lost control,” he admitted, his stormy eyes soft. “You mean more to me than my temper ever will. Please forgive me.”
Scaramouche
“Why do you always have to push me?” His words were sharp, cutting deeper than you’d like to admit. In his exasperation, he turned, his hand accidentally brushing against your shoulder. The force wasn’t much, but it was enough to make you stumble slightly.
You steadied yourself, glaring at him. The anger in his eyes flickered, quickly replaced by guilt. “I didn’t… I wasn’t trying to…” He struggled to find the words, his expression tense.
Later, he found you sitting alone, his footsteps hesitant as he approached. “Look,” he began, his voice softer than usual, “I know I’m awful at showing it, but I… I didn’t mean to hurt you.” He awkwardly held out a small pouch of your favorite snack. “This doesn’t fix everything, but… I’ll try harder. I promise.”

It's Not Your Fault
Kinich x reader! In which:
Your boyfriend comes home from work and the first sentence he told you was "somebody kissed me today."
1,747 words 9,461 characters
It was almost midnight, the time your boyfriend told you he'd come home. Like many other times when he had to work till late, you sat on the couch with a lamp illuminating the book in your hands so that you can tell the letters apart. The plot wasn't particularly interesting, but the characters were relatable and pretty well written.
Just as you were getting to the climax of the story, you heard the sound of the door unlocking. Without hesitation, you put down your book (after placing a bookmark betweent the pages of course) and leaped towards the front entrance to welcome your beloved home. Barely did the door open when you had already thrown yourself at the figure before you.
"Honey! Welcome home," you grinned, nuzzling your cheek into the crook of his neck. Usually he would've greeted you back by now, but all you got was an arm weakly patting against your back. Noticing this, you stepped back to see what was up.
"Kinich? You alright?" you asked worriedly. His face was a few shades paler than you remember, his eyes didn't meet yours and he kept opening and closing his mouth. Something was clearly wrong.
After a while of silence, he seemed to have found his words again. Monotonously, he uttered the following words.
"Somebody kissed me today."
In an instant, it felt as if a cold bucket of water was dumped onto you, rendering you speechless for a moment. However, it wouldn't have mattered if you could speak or not, for he was not done yet.
"I made it clear that I had a lover already, but she didn't listen and while I was occupied with something else she just did it," he explained calmly and shortly. If you had not been with him for so long, you might've misunderstood his calm as apathy, his sparse amount of words as him trying to brush it off as nothing and his unwillingness to look at you as disrespect.
But you had been with him for this long. You knew that rather than being calm, it was him struggling to express his emotions, instead of trying to downplay the situation he was just being extra blunt under stress and it wasn't that he doesn't think you're not important enough to be looked at while talking, he just didn't know how to look at you anymore.
"I- I thought I'd tell you before any misunderstanding happens. I'm pretty sure there were no witnesses but just in case someone tries to tell you anything I wanted to tell you and well I... I..."
The panic he felt was evident to you. It's hard not to see with his eyes frantically darting from furniture to furniture, his hands clenching and unclenching again, his breath going in and out at a faster pace than the one that had the power to lull you to sleep. There came a point where you couldn't bear seeing him like this anymore.
"Kinich," you called out. He stopped every movement, so did his heart for a second. "Kinich, look at me."
Only then did he finally meet your gaze. Vibrant yellows, greens and a bit of orange. How you adored his eyes, even now as his pupils dilated and tears threatening to roll down his pretty face. Slowly, as to not scare him, you opened your arms invitingly.
Immediately he moved into the safety of your embrace, wrapping around you and burying his face into your shoulder. Not long after, you felt his body quiver as soft sniffles sounded next to your ear.
"It's alright. It's not your fault, so don't you worry. It's all gonna be fine," you whispered soothingly, hoping to relieve him of the burden as much as you can, even though you yourself weren't so thrilled to hear about it.
"But I-," he was interrupted by a rather quiet hiccup, a skill he mastered at 5, "I could've stopped it. It would've been so easy."
"Don't put the blame on yourself, you were doing something else, weren't you? She exploited that and did something you have made clear was taboo. You can't be at fault for this."
Although your words made sense to him logically, and he himself already knew this on his way back home, he couldn't convince his feelings that you were speaking the truth. They kept telling him that you were only saying this so that he'd calm down and let his guard down, so that you could leave while he was in a faux sense of safety. The mixture of shame, guilt and fear was crushing him.
He hated everything about the current situation, even the heat radiating off of you. He hated how weak he felt, how his emotions were so overwhelming, how his mind won't just accept the logical truth, how he dared to doubt your words, how he had the audacity to seek comfort in your embrace despite said doubts and what he had done.
Why were you being so lenient, why were you being gentle with him when he had betrayed you? What will be the price for this? Both the betrayal from his side and the leniency you showed meant that he was now indebted to you, by a lot in fact. How will this debt be payed? There was only one possibility in his mind and the thought of it sent whatever was left of his rationale went flying out the window.
The hold he had on you tightened. His fingers dug into the side of your arms, making you wince a bit but you didn't let go of him. Memories flashed before him, terror had his heart in a grip like it's trying to suffocate him and fear flooded his mind, drowning out all thoughts.
"Please, oh please don't..."
He let out a shaky breath.
"Please, don't leave me, I'll do whatever it takes to make up for it but please, I beg of you and I promise I'll be enough, I'll do enough, just please don't go away, I'll be good, really..."
The boy's rambling continued, repeating words like a prayer, but it was so quiet you barely heard him, despite your ear being right beside him. The speed at which the words spilled out of his mouth made the words even more intelligible, but you realized where his mind was at as soon as you understood "leave."
"Hey, hey, no. I'm not gonna leave you, you don't have to pay me anything. One only has to pay when they gain something in return, but you didn't gain anything from that kiss, right?"
Your voice cracked a bit at the end, the thought of Kinich liking the kiss of someone else stinged like a needle. To your slight reassurance, he nodded into your shoulder.
"Then you don't have to pay for anything. See? I'll stay, there's nowhere else I'd want to be more than with you, I'm not going anywhere."
"But I broke our promise and hurt your trust, I should compensate for it, I have to," he continued to argue, as if trying hard to not let you convince him.
"Nonsense, you didn't do anything to me, it was that... person, who did you wrong." As an attempt to ground him back into reality, you tangled your fingers into his hair and rubbed his scalp softly. That always calmed him down, and though this time was no exception, the effect was less than usual.
"The fact that I told you already counts as hurting you. I know you're hurt by this," he retorted, now less hysteric, and you knew that he wasn't all that wrong. But still, you continued talking him out of his worries.
"A misunderstanding would've done more damage to me, telling me right away was the safest option and the one with the least damage potential. You made the choice that has the least cons for me."
Finally, he had nothing to argue with and the room fell still. Talking about pros and cons of choices may seem odd, and you would've found it very odd, had you heard this conversation a few years ago, but throughout your time together you had learnt that this was just the way Kinich was able to receive comfort. He couldn't accept simple, genuine things in relationships without paying something back, that was just what he had learnt from his childhood. Nothing comes without a price, so when someone claims something to be free, he can only face it with suspicion and disbelief.
"I won't leave you, ever. You're the only I love, the only one I trust so much and I know you only have my best interests in mind. Just your existence is enough and what you do for me, well it's more than I could ever hope to receive from a person," you spoke with a hushed tone and stepped away from the hug. The corners of his eyes were reddened and a bit of snot ran down his nose, but he looked as beautiful as ever. Delicately, you took both his hands and entertwined his slender digits in your own.
"There are more reasons to stay with you than I can count on both our fingers, you know? In contrast, I see none why I should leave. Well, aside from Ajaw, he's the only thing tainting my time with you. On the other hand though, I must say, seeing you bicker is quite entertaining," you laughed light-heartedly. To that, he smiled a little.
"Thank you," he murmured and leaned in for a kiss, one you gently returned. It didn't last very long, nor was it particularly passionate, but it expressed everything he wanted to tell you and you understood everything that he said.
"Should we go to sleep now? I'm sure you're tired from all the work. Come on, go get yourself ready for bed, I'll be waiting," you urged him, getting a hum of agreement in return. Content with that, you went to fetch your book, that was still on the couch, and stepped towards your shared bedroom.
Not long after, Kinich entered the room as well, still rubbing his hair with a towel. You were already under the blanket, watching him change into his pajamas and eventually lay down beside you. Wordlessly, he slid his limbs around your midrift and you cradled his head, which was pressed up against your chest. Your legs tangled together until neither of you knew where he started and where you ended. At last you peacefully drifted to sleep, aware that the other is always beside you.
Legit woke up in the middle of the night to write this, knowing full well I had school the next day, all because the idea came to me. Well anyways hope you enjoyed and have a pleasant day or night.

Two Hands, One Home
Summary: After an abyss attack destroys your home, Kinich, who values independence and self-reliance, offers you a place to stay. Over time, you settle into a peaceful routine together, finding comfort in his reserved kindness and the small gestures of care he provides, learning that beneath his cold exterior, Kinich has his own way of showing affection.

Warnings: Implied Loss Due To An Abyss Attack, Mild Angst.
The aftermath of the abyss attack was devastating. Your home, once a place of safety and comfort, had been reduced to rubble, its walls shattered and roof torn asunder. The shock of losing everything you had worked for in an instant left you feeling hollow, adrift in a world that had suddenly turned cold and uncertain.
But amid the chaos, there was an unexpected offer. Kinich, with his usual stoic expression, had come to you with a quiet proposal. “You can stay at my place while your house is being repaired.” he said, his tone as dry as ever, yet beneath it was something softer, something genuine.
You were hesitant at first—Kinich was a private person, and you knew his past hadn’t been easy. Still, the practicality of the offer, and the simple fact that you needed somewhere safe to stay, won out. You nodded, grateful but unsure of what to expect.
The day you moved into Kinich’s house, you couldn’t help but be surprised by how… normal it was. The inside was modest, a far cry from the grandeur of the mansions you’d seen in the past. But it had a warmth to it, an unspoken coziness. The walls were lined with handmade furniture, small knick-knacks that spoke of a life lived with care and attention, even if it wasn’t a life of luxury.
Kinich showed you around, his gestures efficient but not unkind. “This is the kitchen,” he said, pointing to a simple stove and a small table. “If you need anything, just ask. And, uh… don’t go near the shed out back. I keep some of my… tools there.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Tools?”
His lips twitched in what might have been a smile, though it was hard to say. “I’ve got a lot of things to fix. You’ll see.”
You followed him to the living room, where a modest fireplace crackled. The scent of wood and something faintly herbal hung in the air, and Kinich, ever the practical one, was already setting up a small cot by the wall for you.
“Don’t make a fuss about it,” he said as he smoothed out the blanket. “It’s not much, but it’ll do for now.”
You couldn’t help but feel touched. For someone who valued independence so much, Kinich was surprisingly attentive in his own way. You sat down on the cot, still a bit unsure of what to do next.
Kinich cleared his throat and turned toward the kitchen. “I’m making dinner. It’ll be ready in about an hour. You can relax until then.”
As he worked, you took a moment to look around the room. It wasn’t much, but it was his—his space, his home. The absence of his usual sharpness, the subtle kindness of his gestures, made you feel a little less alone. Even if he didn’t show it often, Kinich had a way of making you feel like you mattered.
Dinner was simple, a warm stew that smelled of fresh herbs and hearty vegetables. Kinich placed a bowl in front of you, his expression as unreadable as ever, but there was something softer in his eyes, a flicker of something more than just duty.
“You didn’t have to do this,” you said, quietly breaking the silence. “Let me help with something.”
Kinich paused for a moment, his hand still on the pot as he glanced over at you. “It’s fine,” he said with a shrug. “I’m not doing it for you. Just… don’t let the food go to waste.”
You chuckled softly, nodding. Kinich’s words were as blunt as always, but the care in his actions was something you couldn’t overlook. As you sat together at the table, eating in comfortable silence, you couldn’t help but think that, despite everything, you had found a place here—a place where, for the time being, you could heal
Over the next few days, life at Kinich’s house settled into a quiet routine. You’d help with the small tasks around the house—cleaning up, organizing things—and in return, Kinich would share bits and pieces of his life with you, small snippets of knowledge or skills that he’d learned over the years.
One evening, as the sun began to set, you found Kinich in the garden, tending to some plants in the fading light. You hadn’t realized how peaceful the house could feel when it was just the two of you, sharing this simple life together.
“Need help?” you asked, walking over to him.
Kinich glanced up, his face softening slightly. “If you want. I could always use another pair of hands around here.”
You knelt beside him, taking a small gardening trowel and gently digging into the soil. There was a strange comfort in working alongside him, the silence between you both not awkward but companionable, as if you were partners in something greater than just survival.
“Why do you do it?” you asked, looking up at him. “Tending to all this, I mean. I would’ve thought you’d want to leave it all behind.”
Kinich paused, the question catching him off guard. His eyes flickered briefly, almost hesitant, before he answered. “Because it’s mine. It’s the one thing in this world I can rely on. People… they come and go. But this? It’s real. It stays.”
You smiled at his answer, understanding him a little more than you had before. Kinich didn’t offer grand gestures or flowery words, but in the little things—like the way he cared for his home, or the way he offered you a place to stay when you needed it most—you saw his quiet strength.
And, despite his belief in self-sufficiency, you couldn’t help but wonder if, maybe, for just a moment, you could be the one thing he’d allow himself to rely on, too.
That night, as you both sat by the fire, Kinich spoke again, his voice quieter than usual.
“You’re welcome to stay as long as you need.” he said, not looking directly at you but still offering the words with sincerity.
You nodded, your heart swelling with gratitude. “Thanks, Kinich. I… I really appreciate it.”
He gave a small, almost imperceptible nod. “It’s not charity. It’s just… practical.”
But the warmth in his eyes told you everything you needed to know.

oh my godddddddddddds im backk its 🌙
maybe someting where kinich and the reader are dating and jealous of mualani for something he did to help her that he never does for reader?
Okay so in this idea I've made reader a weapons dealer (why tf can't I remember the name of the profession smh?) and Ajaw gives you some useful advice.
Part of this fic has headcanons not really linked to the character, but more to the fic idea.
--
Your boyfriend was not the best at keeping his weapon safe - that much that you landed up knowing him through his visits to your stand, asking with a hint of embarrassment added in every time he made yet another visit to your shop for another claymore. Over time, you had grown fond of him, and you asked him out.
Surprisingly, he said yes.
When you hang out, which was rare because of his line of work, you told him more about yourself than he was willing to tell you. At first you thought he was just getting more familiar with you, but after a while you get wary. You had given him a decent discount for weapons - basically free whenever he needed once since you begin dating.
But then you saw how he interacted with her. Mualani.
She effortlessly got him to talk, and you really didn't like the feeling in your chest when you saw them together, and Ajaw seemed bored whenever they were together. Ajaw would get put into time out regularly whenever he said too much, which happened whenever Kinich was being teased about how close he seemed to be to Mualani in comparison to you - his actual partner.
The last time he got put into time out, Ajaw manage dto get to you discretely. No idea how exactly, but you weren't about to ask questions.
"You're better moving on, _." Ajaw states. "You and I both know he's taking advantage of your deal."
"...My deal?" You ask, tilting your head.
You hadn't thought too hard about how often he seemed to visit your shop after you two became a couple, but it made sense how often he visited. He didn't even show shame with it after you both started dating, he seemed to think this was his side of the bargain as opposed to just being Happy about dating you.
"...Are you listening to me?" Ajaw yells, catching your attention. "It looks like you already know what I'm going to say. I'm stuck with Kinich, doesn't mean you have to be!" Ajaw cackles, sunglasses on.
"Thanks, Ajaw." You rub the back of your head awkwardly as you look over at Kinich who has now been hugged by Mualani. He never pushes her away, not did he seem uncomfortable with her hugs, which was the final nail in the coffin as he never wanted to get your affections.
Kinich walks over, pointing towards a Claymore as he asks for a price. When you give him the usual customer price, he shows confusion.
"What?" You ask innocently. "I can't keep giving you discounts when you keep losing merchandise. It costs materials, time and money to make these."
"Fair enough, sorry." Kinich smiles softly, an action you had only seen from him when he had spoken to Mualani. He places the mora on the table, you hand the weapon over, and he doesn't even wave as he leaves.
Mualani waves at you, cheery smile on her face, and you do the most pathetic wave before having to excuse yourself as you realised you fell for a guy that had only wanted you for your weapons at a cheaper price.
You realise that, in Kinich's eyes, you were nothing but a side character.

Kinich x Reader
Where Kinich breaks up with you before going to War, but you make him listen to you
(Oh, wow. I got excited writing this. 0.9k words, it's longer than usual! Although I liked the result, I think it could have been a little more angsty :( I dedicate it to 💗, who asked me for it in a request. I hope you liked it, I hope you'll write to me again sharing your opinion <3)
Twilight covered Natlan in a blanket of red and orange hues, a cruel irony for Kinich, who felt the heat of the fire and the weight of duty burning in his chest, almost to the point of burning him. He had spent his entire life preparing for this war, for the battle against the Abyss, but he never thought that facing danger would mean giving up what he valued most in his life: you.
The decision had been clear when the clan elders made it. The modern heroes, each a bearer of the Ancient Names, must march to the Night Kingdom, that dimension where the shadows of the Abyss were stronger, fiercer, and where Natlan's very nature was at risk. Although the Pyro Archon had returned, the Ode of Resurrection was weakened. This time, there was no guarantee of returning, not even for him, one of the promising warriors.
He waited for you under the shade of a tree, his gaze lost in the landscape that could be the last he would see. When you finally approached, he swallowed hard, his words stuck in his throat. He loved you, and that made it harder, more unbearable.
“Kinich, what’s wrong?” you asked softly, noticing his tense expression. You’d seen Kinich in battle, on hunts, in times of fighting, but you’d never seen him so dejected. He looked as if he carried the weight of the sun itself on his shoulders.
Kinich let out a heavy sigh, unable to look directly at you. He wanted to take you away from the storm, from the uncertainty, protect you from the anguish that an endless wait could bring.
“I’m going to go to war,” he said, his voice rough, his words like stones falling to the ground. There was no time for you to respond before he continued. “And I’m not going to ask you to wait for me. It wouldn’t be fair to you. It’s not safe… If I don’t come back…” It seemed like Kinich was talking to himself at this point. He focused, though, his gaze turning colder as he looked away.
"Nevermind. I'll say it straight. I'm breaking up with you."
Your silence was a blow. You knew of the war, you knew the stories of warriors lost in the Night Kingdom, trapped by the Abyss, waiting without a glimmer of hope. But the Kinich you knew was not someone who gave up so easily.
“Do you think you can decide that for me?” you asked, intense sadness coloring your words. “I don’t want you to disappear like a shadow in history, Kinich! Not after everything we’ve been through together!”
He pulled away slightly, his eyes staring at the ground, as he struggled to put into words the fear that tormented him.
“I don’t want you to suffer waiting for something that might not happen, do you understand?” he said in a whisper. There was an echo of vulnerability in his words that was rare for him, someone who had always faced adversity with his head held high. But this time it was different. This time, fear was a shadow he couldn’t chase away.
You hesitated only a moment before taking a step towards him, raising a hand to touch his face, forcing him to look at you. His gaze was a storm of emotions; fear, love, guilt, and something deeper, darker.
“Listen to me, Kinich,” you said, your voice firm even though your hands trembled slightly. “Natlan has survived because of warriors like you, but also because of those left behind, those who remember. Don’t ask me to forget you, or ask me to prepare to lose you without even trying. If you decide to leave, you will do so with the promise that I will do everything in my power so that, whatever happens, your Name will never be forgotten.”
Kinich closed his eyes, feeling the weight of your words. It was a promise and, at the same time, a plea. For a moment, he imagined what it would be like to let you go, to erase the trace of shared memories and think of you only as a distant figure, a dream he had given up on. And that thought tore at him.
“Why can’t you let me do this?” he asked in a low, almost desperate tone. It wasn’t an accusation, but a confession of his helplessness.
“Because…” Your voice broke, and you took a deep breath before continuing. “Because I love you, Kinich. Because this isn’t just a war; this is our life, and if I lose you in the Night Kingdom, then I will lose a part of me as well. If you fall, you will fall knowing that someone here will remember you. I don’t want a life without you, even if it means waiting, even if it means risking it.”
Those words finally broke through Kinich’s defenses. He felt the resolve he had built crumble, and he hugged you, a gesture that contained all the fragility he had tried to hide. The weight of the war, of his responsibilities, vanished for a moment as he felt your closeness, as he absorbed the comfort you offered, even if it was only temporary.
“Promise me that if I come back, there will be no regrets,” he murmured, searching for some certainty amidst the uncertainty.
You stroked his hair gently, whispering your words with a devotion that gave him the strength he needed.
“I promise you, Kinich.”
Here is my masterlist, in case you are interested in any more of my work or want to send me a request <3

WISH YOU WERE SOBER
sum: confessing to him when you’re drunk
pairing: kinich x gn reader
contains: drunken confession, slight mention of his backstory
a/n: i was listening to “wish you were sober” by Conan Gray and thought of this, this is my first fic so uhhhh enjoy 😀😊⁉️ i have not written a fanfic since middle school and im high asf rn so it might be bad LOL might be ooc
———————————————————————————
This party's shit
Kinich sat around while everyone else was celebrating, he saw how you drank bottle after bottle. It hurt to see someone he cared about so deeply drink, it reminded him of his father, who he hated. But he couldn’t hate you, even if he tried.
wish we could dip, go anywhere but here
After a while you sat next to him, he didn’t want to come; he came for you. You excitedly asked if he was going to the celebration your tribe was having, he only agreed because he knew you would be there.
Don't take a hit, don't kiss my lips
You were awfully clingy when drunk, an equally drunk mualani had to pry you off her. You did the same to him; trying to hug him.
“I love you so much thank you for being my friend!” you cried
friend.
That’s all he was to you, just a friend.
And please don't drink more beer
He took the bottle away from you, he didn’t want you to be sick in the morning. He rolled his eyes as you reached for it, whining.
“Just a little bit~ Come on! It- it won’t hurt..!”
“You drank enough for tonight”
But this is definitely not my crowd
He didn’t really talk to anyone from your tribe besides you and (whoever else is in your tribe that has interacted with him), but he made an effort to come. He poured what was left of the liquor onto the floor and left the bottle on the crate he was sitting.
Take me where the music ain't too loud
Even though you were drunk you could tell he wasn’t comfortable.
“I want to take a walk”
“A walk? Right now? You’re not in a state to even speak properly, much less walk.”
“…Can you take me home?..I’m tired”
He watched as you said goodbye to your friends but couldn’t help but feel jealous. The way you hugged everyone so tightly, you never hugged him like that. When you would they would be quick, barely holding him, or maybe even just a side hug.
Trip down the road, walking you home
“Let’s go trouble magnet”
He put an arm around your waist holding you up so you wouldn’t fall, you could barely walk and he was annoyed, sad even.
“The stars are so pretty”
“It’s really hot..”
“Woah look at the moon!”
He was getting tired of your endless sentences. He couldn’t understand how you could be such a heavy drinker. Was it a coping skill? He went through a lot and never thought about picking up a bottle. Did you enjoy the feeling? He wouldn’t know, he always swore to never try it. He didn’t want to end up like him.
Pullin' me close, beg me, "Stay over"
“Can you spend the night? P-please?”
He looked down at your drunken state, eyes half lidded, cheeks red; you looked so beautiful. He was always confused on how you were never like his father when drunk, you were always smiling, laughing, dancing, the complete opposite of him.
But I'm over this roller-coaster
He listened to you talk about whatever popped up into your mind, he turned to look at you after you’ve been quiet for some time. You were just looking at him, his lips.
“This- this is a dream right..?”
He looked at you confused, dream? Where did that come from?
“Sure, yeah this is a dream”
He didn’t think anything of it, were you going to tell him an embarrassing memory? A secret no one else was supposed to know? Or- no. You would never..
He looked at you, the moon light making you look almost angelic. He noticed you looking at his lips and then his eyes.
“If this is a dream then i can…”
Time felt like it stopped.
Did you just- kiss him?
You pulled away, whispering an ‘I really like you’ before passing out almost immediately. He just sat there, a million thoughts rushing through his head. What the hell just happened? He looked down at you and noticed a small smile.
Real sweet, but I wish you were sober

title: NEVER LEAVE. (part two of OTHER DADDY~!)
summary: he won't ever be so childish again. not when he has you and his family. pairings: kinich x (intended) fem!reader. tw: none. notes: finally my first idea is done! please request, i heavily encourage requests.
It’d already been just over three weeks ever since Kinich left. You didn’t pay it too much mind, during the first days, this not being the first time Kinich had left for work without telling you, but you did think it was never for this long.
Poor you, you had initially thought that Kinich was in trouble somehow. You didn’t know that he wasn’t planning on coming back for a while.
–
Kinich’s original plan was to take a really long commission to distract him. Fortunately these types were quite easy to come by.
By the first two weeks, Kinich was already done with this commission, only going back now. He’d been thinking about what he'd do next for the past few hours, and so, he finally decided to come home and explain everything. Perhaps everything could get better. Perhaps he really did just assume things. But if he had to try to justify why he left… Perhaps he couldn’t deal with what could happen after he confronted you about this… if it was true. Splitting with you, splitting with his son? He didn't think he could bear it.
Only thing was… only a moment ago Kinich had clocked that a Fatui agent had been tailing him for a little while now, and though Kinich didn’t do anything yet, he wondered why this Fatui was following him, the reason it could be.
–
It’d been a month now, everyday you asked all the people around you if they had seen Kinich, you were so anxious you thought you could just burst from paranoia. Often, your son questioned where his father was, but it’s not like you could give him an answer; you didn’t know Kinich’s whereabouts yourself. You even asked Mualani and Kachina if he’d met them sometime in the last month. They told you he had come to them two weeks ago for something that Mualani just refused to tell you, and upon telling them that nobody had seen him for definite since that last week, they immediately started to panic too.
Currently you, along with Mualani and some tribe members decided to send a search party to go looking for him, and sometime in the investigation even Ajaw joined you, who, although was initially grinning with the idea that Kinich could be in danger, decided to help you too- you were the only mortal he tolerated, so he insisted that helping you overcome your worries as a tiny favour from the almighty K'uhul Ajaw, but he would never admit that Kinich’s disappearance didn’t sit right with him.
It took many days of restless searching, until one day you all came across a suspiciously hidden camp in the Scions of the Canopy, and something in your heart told you that you’d find him here. And you were right.
Bruised, battered and bloody, you found Kinich unconscious on the floor, tied up around the wrists and severely pale. The camp seemed to be belonging to Fatui agents, and some of your party decided to get Kinich to safety while others waited around to question and attack the kidnappers.
Turns out, the Fatui were looking for you- and you knew why.
Your family pissed off the Fatui before your father had you. He was a brave adventurer who made quite the name for himself over the years, and many of the Fatui knew his name. He even slaughtered a high captain of the specific Fatui which took Kinich, and understood that if you were ever kidnap, your family would try everything to get you back. Luring your father to them to exact revenge- and maybe snag some of the mora your family had.
Kinich had never met your father, he was jailed in Fontaine around the years you and Kinich got married, and all pictures you had of him you couldn’t carry with you. Kinich doesn’t know about this.
You being this man’s child drove the Fatui to target you, and while they didn’t know too much about you, they did know about your husband. Anger coursed through you as you looked at him, the blood and scars on his body making you wish that you had stayed to give the Fatui members a piece of your mind.
–
Kinich stirred awake.
“Kinich!!” You leapt up from your chair and started towards him, happy that he had woken up. The doctors called in the others and you couldn't stop yourself from smiling so brightly.
“Kinich.” You then grabbed his hand and intertwined your fingers with his, bringing it up to your face. “Oh, my dear…”
You were obviously very glad to see him, tears– happy tears– pricking in your eyes, and more so now because he was now in a somewhat healthier condition than the one you had seen him in a day earlier. Your son stood behind you, but he ran up to Kinich almost as fast as you did. “Dad!!” Kinich smiled a bit at his son, ruffling his hair.
Both only looked at each other so fondly, your son gagged a bit. Mualani came in a little while later, clearly ecstatic to see him, and hugged Kinich, before taking your son out of the room for your privacy, and she cast a small glance at Kinich, to which he only sheepishly looked down. This action was not unmissed by you, but now you were both alone.
You sat down on his hospital bed, and he gathered up the courage to speak.
“(name)… may we talk?” You nodded, giving him the okay. All you knew right now was that he was attacked, but not the reason why he suddenly made himself so vulnerable, and not what he was about to tell you. “You… you are probably wondering where I've been. You know that I was only kidnapped a week ago,” he grumbled. “But it’s been a little while... I wasn't planning on coming back for a long time.”
He could quite vividly see that familiar bright luminosity on your face that he was always entranced by dull a small bit, but you didn't say anything, so he continued with his confession. “(name), I was scared. Do you remember the day before I left? That… man… you had invited…”
Gears started to turn in your head, but then he admitted something he had been holding back for the past month:
“I instantly thought of the worst. I believed that you were tired of me. Tired that I couldn't always come home to you and our son… that you had finally found someone more…exciting…and up to your standards. That man. He seemed so close to you… you seemed so close to him. I couldn't help but think… Our son called him “other daddy”, what did you expect me to do? The idea that my son had another father figure…” he then cut himself off, closed his eyes and turned his head to the other side.
“Kinich, that man is my father.”
His eyes shot open and you huffed. “Seriously, Kinich? You left home temporarily because you thought I had found someone better?”
Yeah, that seems so childish and petulant now. Kinich had never met your father, but he never knew the reason why. You always reassured him that you loved him and yet that little insecurity always stayed in the back of his head, resurfacing at times like these.
You let go of his hand, turning away in feigned annoyance. “You should’ve known I'd never do that to you.” You turned back to look at him, a familiar warmth shining in your eyes. “I do love you. But you should’ve talked to me about this… now look. What if you do that again? Leave because you're scared. All I honestly want to do right now, is hug you and reassure you that you are the only one for me.”
After that hell of a month, that was all Kinich needed to hear. Taking your hand and placing a chaste kiss to your cheek, he promises:
“I will never leave my family ever again.”

you're no better
pairing: kinich x reader
genre: angstober, events
summary: to him, everything was transactional, even your relationship
word count: 677
a/n: tried pulling for kinich w my limited savings of primos, but my kinich was a hydro astrologist who is broke like me :(
the symphony of birdsong and fires crackling in their braziers was rudely interrupted by angry shouting. the tribes members remained nonchalant, though a peek at their faces could show you how their eyes lit up with delight, their ears straining to hear more of the arguing.
recently, the tribe members noticed that a certain couple were arguing more and more frequently. the aunties internally danced in delight at the sound of gossip, though on the outside, they shook their heads severely and muttered their disappointment under their breath.
uncaring of the mutterings of the tribe, in the hidden sanctuary of your hut, the rising volume of arguing was becoming unbearable.
ajaw sighed as he heard the two of you arguing again. he obediently put himself into timeout to ensure that he didn’t get caught in the crossfire. last time that happened, he had been rudely grabbed and thrown out of the open window, before said window was slammed with a force hard enough to shatter the glass.
perhaps the honeymoon period of your relationship was nearing its end.
once again, kinich had cancelled on your date night due to a commission he had received. his excuse? the commission was more valuable than your date night.
you could curse your lovesick heart for putting you in such a position. truth be told, you had known what you were signing yourself up for when you agreed to date the bearer of the malipo name. everything to them had to be weighed carefully. they couldn’t bear getting the short end of the stick.
this flaw had become a hurdle in the way of your relationship. time and time again, kinich would prioritise an urgent assignment he had received over your own dates and needs, believing that his argument of ‘it’s more valuable’ could be applicable for everything.
“i can’t believe we’re having this argument again!” you yellowed, voice hoarse with how long the two of you had been arguing. your fists were clenched by your side, fingernails digging crescent moons into your skin
“you need to understand, this commission is a better deal.” kinich shot back, brows furrowed in anger, his arms crossed against his chest.
“you’re always prioritising your deals and commissions over me.” you pointed out, hurt evident in your voice.
“because they are more important, these commissions are what earns me money.” kinich affirmed, face impassive. “anyways, you’re not one to talk, you’ve cancelled on me last minute more than ajaw has been obedient and listened to me.”
hearing those last words, heat coursed through your body, fury making you see red. you slammed your hands on the table top, the chair you had been sitting on toppled behind you.
“you’re no better, everything in this relationship to you is a transaction. a careful consideration of what would benefit you more.” your words cut deeply into kinich.
with a deep sigh, you deflated, all the fight draining from you as you sink your head into your hands.
“i’ve had enough of this. i’m tired. so tired of all this arguing.” your voice broke as you tried to fight back the tears.
trying to pick up what was left of your dignity, you gathered some essentials, before heading outside, disappearing into the darkness.
kinich slumped in his chair, shoulders hunched over, his mind racing with a million thoughts. his brows furrowed, but for a second, his anger flickered, guilt overtaking his emotions before it was buried under by his frustration.
‘am i really in the wrong? should i go after them? no, they’re being dramatic as always.’
an ominous feeling gnawed at his chest, but he chose to ignore it, his pride and dignity as a name bearer holding him back. nothing bad could happen. you were smart and capable. he trusted you to return back into his arms safely.
his fingers danced restlessly across the table, the ticking of the clock creeping under his skin, dread settling cold and heavy in his stomach.
he should’ve listened to his gut feeling. he should’ve gone after you that night.

before he met you, kinich didn't care too much about his life. just living it to the fullest with almost zero expression on his face.
but after learning what it was to love someone—everything changed.
not just anyone, but you. he loved you so much.
prior to the usual pilgrimages, he wouldn't really mind if he got revived or not, he did as much as he could. that's all he cares about somewhat.
but after learning what it's like to have someone to come back home to, someone anticipating a picnic night out at midnight... he couldn't just die anymore.
he'd always come right back to you. in your arms every year, the warmth reminds him of that fuzzy feeling of being in a field of dandelions.
freedom wasn't something he as a child was too familiar with, at least in a sense that included safety. family wasn't a thing to him back then, he never thought of having one at least.
of course it changed once he found you—fuck. now he couldn't imagine a life without you.
nowadays when he fights, he feels a stronger desire to kill whatever he has to, all that he needs to slash and burn so he can come back to those cozy nights in your shared house cuddling.
or those afternoons you both take ajaw out on a walk. maybe even the mornings where you spend in each other's hold, no words shared—complete silence that would speak for the both of you.
even if many things in his life had changed for the worse, you taught him that there are changes for the better.
it brought him to where he was now. dreaming about the life you both could live in the future. man just imagine the kids.
sorry if u guys expected angst, its kind of in a way but turned fluffy :)

Healing After the Storm
A/n: I'm so sorry for the late reply Mars anon! I was supposed to do this last night but I fell asleep so I had to rush doing it once I woke up ╥﹏╥
Genre: Canon Verse, Angst w/ a happy ending, Gn! Reader, Some of the chars might be ooc, Scara is called Wanderer, Second Person, Proofread
Chars: Kinich, Kazuha, Wanderer (Scara), Xiao
Summary: After a heated argument, tension rises between you and him, leaving you both feeling distant and unsure. Harsh words are exchanged, but in the aftermath, he takes time to reflect, realizing the pain he’s caused. Whether through small, meaningful gestures or quiet apologies, he finds a way to reach out and make amends.
Kinich:
• The Argument: You stood there, voice trembling with frustration as you confronted Kinich. “It feels like I’m always second to everything else in your life!” Your words hung in the air, sharp and cutting. He responded defensively, and soon, you were both saying things you didn’t mean.
• Post-Argument: After the argument, Kinich would retreat for a bit, giving you both some space. He’s always been level-headed, but this time, guilt weighs heavily on him. He realizes he took you for granted, and his regret eats at him.
• Resolution: Kinich approaches you with a quiet but serious demeanor, kneeling in front of you as he places his hand on yours. “I never meant to make you feel unimportant. You’re everything to me,” he’d say, his voice soft but earnest. He’d take you somewhere meaningful, perhaps to watch the sunset, a reminder of shared peace and beauty. “I’m sorry I lost sight of what truly matters.”
You sat alone by the shoreline, the soft crash of the waves doing little to soothe the ache in your chest. It had been hours since your argument with Kinich, and though the sun had begun to set, the sting of his words still lingered.
Your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of familiar footsteps approaching. Kinich stood a few feet behind you, his usual confident posture softened. He didn’t say anything at first, simply sitting down beside you, his presence comforting despite the silence.
“I’ve been a fool,” he began, his voice gentle, almost carried away by the breeze. “I didn’t mean to push you away like that.”
You glanced at him, still unsure, but his eyes held an earnestness that was hard to ignore. He reached for your hand, his fingers brushing yours lightly before you allowed him to hold it fully.
“I’ve been so focused on everything else, I forgot to make you feel... important.” He looked at the setting sun, his thumb tracing soothing circles on the back of your hand. “But you are. More than anything else.”
You felt the tension in your chest ease as you leaned against him, the warmth of his body grounding you. “I just...want to know where I stand with you.”
Kinich tilted his head to rest against yours. “You stand beside me. Always. I’m sorry I made you doubt that.”
The two of you watched the sun dip below the horizon, the soft glow of twilight settling around you—a reminder that even after the darkest moments, there was always light.
Kazuha:
• The Argument: “It feels like I’m the only one invested in this relationship sometimes!” you had exclaimed, frustration bubbling over. Kazuha’s usual calm demeanor had cracked, and for once, he had responded with a coldness that took you by surprise.
• Post-Argument: After the tension, Kazuha would spend time alone, thinking about his words and the weight of his silence. The guilt of hurting someone so dear weighs him down as he reflects on his feelings during a peaceful stroll.
• Resolution: Kazuha would find you in a serene spot, like a quiet forest or near a gentle river. He’d offer a soft apology, bringing with him a small poem he wrote, describing his thoughts about you. “I’ve always been a drifter,” he’d say, “but that doesn’t mean I don’t want an anchor. And you...you’re my home.” His voice, though calm, is filled with sincerity as he gently takes your hand. “I’m sorry for my silence. I promise i’ll do better.”
The rustling of leaves and the distant call of a bird filled the otherwise quiet forest where you sat, alone with your thoughts. The argument with Kazuha replayed in your mind, his unusually harsh words cutting deeper than you'd expected. It wasn’t like him to lose his temper, and yet...
You heard soft footsteps approach, and soon enough, Kazuha appeared in the clearing, his expression apologetic, yet calm. He moved gracefully to sit beside you, keeping a respectful distance.
“I’ve hurt you,” he said simply, his voice barely above a whisper. His hand reached into his pocket, pulling out a small piece of paper. “I wrote something...I hope it can explain what I couldn’t in the heat of the moment.”
He unfolded the paper, his eyes tracing the words before handing it to you. It was a short poem, one that spoke of wandering hearts and anchors, of finding solace in stillness amidst chaos. As you read, your heart softened, the weight of your earlier argument beginning to lift.
“I’m not good with staying in one place,” Kazuha murmured, “but that doesn’t mean I want to drift away from you.”
You turned to him, meeting his gaze. His eyes were soft, filled with regret but also with the same quiet intensity that had drawn you to him in the first place.
“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice as gentle as the breeze that rustled through the trees. “I want us to understand each other better...I’ll stay, if that’s what you need.”
You leaned into him, letting his calm presence wash over you. “Just don’t leave me behind,” you whispered.
“I won’t,” Kazuha promised, pulling you close.
Wanderer (Scara):
• The Argument: “You don’t care about anyone or anything but yourself!” you had shouted, your voice trembling with emotion. Wanderer’s retort had been sharp, cutting, and dripping with venom. “Maybe I don’t,” he had spat back, pushing you away with words that stung more than any physical blow.
• Post-Argument: Wanderer would storm off, cursing under his breath, but it wouldn’t take long for the sting of his own words to settle in. He’s stubborn, but deep down, he’s aware he hurt you more than he should have.
• Resolution: Wanderer wouldn’t be the type to apologize outright at first. He’d grumble and act aloof, but eventually, he’d show up with a small, thoughtful gift—something that has meaning between the two of you, like a trinket from a place you once visited together. “I...didn’t mean half of what I said,” he mutters, avoiding eye contact. Then, after a beat, he’d finally look at you, his eyes softer than before. “I’m sorry. I hate how easy it is for me to hurt the ones I care about, although i’ll try to stop pushing you away.” His sincerity would shine through in the quiet moments after.
The room was cold, the silence heavy after your argument with Wanderer. You had retreated to your room, tears stinging your eyes as his cruel words echoed in your mind. How could he say such things? After everything you’d been through together?
Hours passed, and you didn’t expect him to come back. So when a soft knock echoed from the door, you were surprised.
Wanderer stepped in, awkwardly holding something behind his back. He didn’t meet your gaze at first, his expression guarded, almost embarrassed. With a sigh, he pulled a small, familiar trinket from behind his back—something you had once admired on a trip together.
“I, uh...I got this for you,” he muttered, avoiding eye contact. “I thought... maybe...it would help.”
You stared at him, unsure of what to say. This wasn’t the grand apology you had expected, but the fact that he was standing there, trying in his own way, meant more than you realized.
Wanderer finally looked at you, his eyes softening. “I didn’t mean what I said...I hate how easy it is for me to hurt you. But I don’t want to...push you away.”
You took the trinket from his hands, your fingers brushing his. “Why do you always do this?” you whispered “Why do you make it so hard?”
He hesitated, his pride warring with his emotions. “I’m...scared,” he admitted quietly. “Scared of being close to anyone. But I don’t want to lose you.”
You closed the distance between you, pulling him into a hesitant hug. At first, he stiffened, but soon, his arms wrapped around you tightly, as if afraid you’d slip away. “I’m sorry,” he murmured into your hair. “I’ll try...to be better. For you.”
Xiao:
• The Argument: Xiao had lashed out at you, his usual stoicism cracking under the weight of his frustration. “I can’t be what you need!” he had shouted, his golden eyes burning with a mix of fear and anger. His harsh words had left you reeling, unsure of how to respond to someone so difficult to reach.
• Post-Argument: Xiao would disappear, guilt settling into his bones. He’d watch you from afar, conflicted, wondering how he could fix the mess he made. His thoughts would be filled with regret, realizing how much his words hurt you, even if it wasn’t his intention.
• Resolution: Xiao wouldn’t approach you right away. He’d need time to figure out what to say. When he does finally show up, it’s always sudden, like a silent breeze at night. “I’m... sorry,” he’d say, his voice stiff but genuine. “I don’t know how to handle these things, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care.” He’d look at you, his golden eyes softer than you’ve ever seen them. “I’ll try to understand...for you. Please, don’t leave me.” His vulnerability would be apparent as he reaches for your hand.
You sat on the balcony, staring at the stars, the ache from your argument with Xiao still fresh in your chest. You knew he didn’t mean to hurt you, but that didn’t make his words sting any less.
A soft rustling behind you caught your attention, and you turned to see Xiao, standing awkwardly near the railing. His usual reserved demeanor was present, but there was something different in his eyes—something...softer.
“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice barely louder than a whisper. He stayed at a distance, almost afraid to get closer. “I... didn’t mean what I said.”
You looked at him, surprise flickering through your expression. “Xiao...”
He took a tentative step forward, his gaze never leaving yours. “I don’t understand emotions like you do...but that doesn’t mean I don’t care.” His voice cracked slightly, betraying the vulnerability he rarely showed. “I care about you.”
Your heart softened at his words, the tension easing from your shoulders. Slowly, you stood up, closing the distance between you. “I never asked you to be perfect, Xiao...just to try.”
He nodded, his hand reaching out to take yours hesitantly, his touch light but sincere. “I’ll try...for you.”
With that, you pulled him into a gentle embrace, feeling the weight of his presence against yours. For once, he didn’t pull away.
A/n: Im so sorry if this was short I had to rush making this so I can start on the other 2 requests(;へ:)

blue banisters - ft. kinich
synopsis - kinich yearns, but will he ever tell you?
includes - 0.3k wc, garbo "angst", weird pacing(?) if there's any at all, more of me just rambling about sad loveydovey kinich, very rushed, very short
a/n - my very weak attempt at angst... i very much so hate this. i swear i'll write smt long one day :(( i have a blade wip that's getting pretty long so if that keeps up it'll probably be my longest work <33
kinich, your dearest best friend, who constantly yearns for you.
and i mean yearns.
momentary gazes and fleeting touches aren't enough for him, though he is unable to voice such. he'd rarely allow himself the guilty pleasure that is love before he met you. yes, he loves mualani and kachina.
but never in the way he loves you.
never in the sense that he could stare at them all day, thinking nothing but flowery words of praise for things as simple as the way they sit.
never in the sense that anytime he's busied himself with a commission, his mind eventually falls back to them.
he doesn't know exactly why he fell in love. in truth, he was unsure if he could even identify proper expressions of such passion that he felt for you. it's not like his father offered much to him or his mother, and his mother left too early to demonstrate the love you deemed he deserved.
but when your lovely lips begin to ramble to him about a recent commission you took, he despises himself.
despises himself for wanting you so desperately, while you think his intentions are of an innocent friendship. he craves the feel of you in his arms, and he hates himself for it.
detests when ajaw taunts him for it with a mischievous grin. loathes when mualani and kachina question him about it with innocent gazes and curious smiles.
he'll never act on his feelings for you. there's been moments where he's considered it, like when he gave you a bouquet of imported glaze lillies for your birthday, or when you two were in a particularly rough battle during the night warden wars.
he nearly confessed out of painful fear that you both might not make it.
but he discovered he'd truly rather die than permit you to have such awareness of his vulnerability around you.
so he'll continue to yearn until you're ready.
for you.

Succulent - Kinich
Spiderman AU, where Kinich is Spiderman and you are the Gwen Stacy.
Kinich unknowingly explores the same suspicious temple as you, saves a few Saurians, saves you a few times, confesses his love to you. The basic stuff.
Notes: I have had major Kinich brainrot, especially with the sunflower edits of him on tiktok. So I took it upon myself to make a spiderman AU where he's spiderman! Yay! He's definitely OOC but I tried my hardest so please try to enjoy :3
(P.S. this stuff was written before he was released so this is not cannon!)
You were a simple researcher, wandering into the depths of Natlan. There was some elemental disturbance in some uncharted land underground, not wanting anyone else to get ahead of you, you embarked on your journey alone.
“Maybe I should've hired a mercenary.. Kinich would’ve been great.” you mutter. Kinich, a great mercenary, has such a cold demeanor yet he always stares at you and gives you such a warm gaze. You shake off the thoughts of your tiny crush as you slowly make your way through rough terrain. There were lava geysers all around and a hint of evil in the air, perhaps it was the abyss order.
You carried on, almost slipping into the multiple geysers all around. Thankfully you finally reached a safe point and decided to set up camp, just a simple tent and some traps in case enemies attack.
“Just a simple salad today, I have to preserve the meat for the hardest part of the adventure.” You say to no one aloud.
You decide to mark down some observations of the cave you're in. So far you haven't come face to face with any enemies which is quite odd for an area with a highly condensed elemental energy. Perhaps someone has come before you. You mark off any important landmarks, different rocks, ancient markings. Sighing, you place your notebook down and shake your sore hand.
“Time to sleep.” You stand up and stretch before heading into your tent for the night.
.
“Log number 18. I've still been searching for the cause of the elemental disturbance. Many enemies have appeared so I've done the reasonable thing and wiped them out. I do see a temple in the distance that radiates high elemental energy, so I will be checking that tomorrow but, right now it's time for me to rest.” Click. Kinich places down his recorder.
“I’m not even getting paid for this gig. Why am I even doing this?” He sighs, leaning up against a nearby wall.
See but Kinich knew exactly why, it was because of you. See Kinich had two jobs, one as a mercenary, one as a hero. He was known as Spiderman in Natlan, the way he would effortlessly swing with his grappling hook, and kill enemies of Teyvat as quickly as a black spider. He wore a mask in this identity, nobody knew who he was. Yet as he was weakened from an enemy far too strong and there he laid on the ground. You walked up, and instead of finding out who this mysterious Spiderman was, you kept his mask on, only pulling it high enough to wipe blood off his mouth. From then on he continued to have encounters with you, it always occurred whenever he got injured in battle, you were there by his side to patch up his wounds.
“I still don't even know your name.” Kinich reminisces about the moments spent together. “I'll get rid of this and protect you.” His promise fades away in the giant cave, nobody but himself to see it true. Kinich sets up a small sleeping bag, finally deciding to get some rest.
.
“New day, new adventure!” You say, trying to be optimistic. Although the truth is you could be farther from it. The elemental energy feels even more condensed than before, and there's this feeling of impending doom following suit. You quickly pack up your supplies not wanting to waste anymore time on this research trip.
After what feels like hours, but in reality was probably no longer than 30 minutes, you see a temple in the distance.
“This…” You stare at it from afar, shocked to even say a single word. The elemental energy that is pouring out from there is outstanding, there is definitely something suspicious going on. This is the first time in this adventure where you had second doubts, you definitely should've hired a mercenary, maybe Kinich. It's far too late for that now you decide as you begrudgingly step towards.
.
“These puzzles are definitely different from the ones we see around Natlan, right Ajaw?” Kinich looks at the strange mechanism.
“You really do suck if you can't get us through here. Wanna impress your lover researcher right? Right? Also why are you wearing that stupid mask, nobody is around.” Ajaw teases and questions the poor Kinich as he starts to get pissed.
“One I don't have a lover, two, this is for Natlan’s sake, something you must not understand, and three, I’ve gotten used to wearing it.” Kinich shoos away the now red Ajaw. “Finally figured out how it works though.” As he says that a door that was previously locked opens up.
“I see you've come to stop our plans once again traveler- ergh?!” A flame welding abyss lector pauses mid speech.
“Traveler? Do you mean the blond haired saviour going around helping people?” Kinich asks, recognizing the famous traveler.
“You're kinda totally ruining the plan I had dude.” The abyss lector says in defeat.
“What do you mean ruining the plan, huh!?” Ajaw yells, still upset about earlier.
“Well, the traveler and I were supposed to fight. After all, I totally ran away from our fight last time, heh. Just didn't wanna die you know?” The abyss lector laughs off his misfortune. “Nevermind that now I have to kill you, after all I can't have you leaking our information out and about.”
“Let's win this Kinich!” Ajaw says, trying to pump up his dear servant.
“Whatever you say I guess.” Kinich responds.
.
“These puzzles.. They're complete, someone had to have been here before.” You conclude. When you arrived at the temple you saw numerous doors open. There were many unfamiliar marks covering the temple head to toe, you only recognize a few as abyss symbols. Through careful observation you notice an odd placing brick on the wall, not wanting to inspect it with your own hands, you opt for a nearby stick. You take a deep breath in and push against the suspicious brick, allowing a secret passage downwards to open.
“Thank god that wasn't a trap.” You breathe a sigh of relief.
After finishing writing down all the information you need about this current room you decide to explore this secret passage, it's basically just a bunch of stairs leading downwards.
.
“Shit you're one slippery guy, and what the hell is with that skill you're seriously like a spider.” The flame bearing abyss lector complains, definitely aggravated from the injuries inflicted on him.
“Yeah I tend to go by Spiderman, don't let the name wear out.” Kinich says, quickly using his skill to cover his eyes with his grapple, reducing his eyesight.
While covering the abyss lector’s eyes he uses a secondary grappling hook to start to spin himself, effectively wrapping the enemy up.
“You damned brat! You'll pay for this!” The abyss lector yells while using his pyro skills, effectively destroying the web like wire that blocked his vision and disabled his movement.
“Too bad you weren't paying attention.” Kinich mutters, slicing his claymore against the back of the abyss lector, leading to its defeat.
“Ajaw, find anything of interest on his body, I'm going to check this machinery out.” Kinich orders Ajaw around, to which Ajaw complains but compiles.
In this room there's multiple computers showing different results, many different files of interest, and… a tube? Leading to where. Kinich is left to wonder. He takes a closer look at the tube to see a purple substance flow through it.
“Ajaw, find out where this tube leads, we'll switch jobs.” Kinich says, shoving Ajaw away from the flame abyss lector's body.
“Meh meh meh meh. Mr. Bossy-pants.” Ajaw mocks but goes right to finding where the location of the purple substance is coming from.
.
“I should've turned around.” You can't help but complain. You had been walking down these stairs for god knows how long, with barely any light, and no clue if there's enemies at the bottom.
“I'm so dead aren't I.” You cry. In the middle of you trying to accept your fate you see a brighter light. Hopeful that it's the bottom you pick up your pace only to be met face to face with, prison cells?
There were glass cells, no, chambers filled with Saurians, a purple substance being sucked out and pushed into a hole in the middle of the room. You take careful steps forward, heartbroken, shocked at the sight you're seeing. The dragon's that inhabit the lands of Natlan, being sucked dry of their elemental energy. This has to be the work of the abyss order, you conclude. You look at the seemingly bottomless pit in the middle of the room.
“This is… despicable. How could they do this to innocent creatures?” You mutter, looking down into the pit with sadness.
“Oh? What's my number one fan doing here?” A familiar voice echoes in front of you.
“Ah, Spiderman-!?” You look up only to be met face to face with an upside down Spiderman.
“I'm not surprised you're here, but why are you here alone? You don't have a vision so this place is draining you of your energy.” A slight bit of concern covers Spiderman's voice.
“I had to explore. This cave was uncharted and I wanted to resolve this issue as soon as possible.” You answer his question, “Not to mention you're hurt yourself. When did this happen?” He just scratches the back of his head.
“Just had a fight just now I'm alright though. Had to win to see you once again.” Spiderman admits. “It looks like I'll have to have another fight though. Please stay back alright.” He says while pulling down his mask, just enough to show his mouth. He moves forwards enough to give you a light kiss against your lips. He gives you a smile before putting his mask back on and jumping right into the fight.
You stand there for a few seconds processing what just happened. Not only did the Spiderman just say he wanted to see you again, but he also just kissed you? You hear the noise of abyss mages getting hurt and remember what Spiderman told you to do, so you try to walk over to the other side, away from the fighting.
You watch in awe as the amazing Spiderman uses his webs to his advantage, dodging the attacks from abyss mages and using them to weaken the shields so he can do heavy damage with his claymore. You’re so enamored by his performance you don’t realize how close to the edge of the pit you get too.
“Finally done with these abyss mages.” Kinich mutters, turning to you only to see you dangerously close to the edge, with abyss mages behind you. “Watch out-!” Kinich tries to call out to you but it’s too late, the abyss mages push you into the pit.
Kinich is quick to react, quickly using his grappling hook to connect and grab you, which ends successfully. Only problem now? He had two electro abyss mages in front of him, his grappling hook unusable at the moment. The panic that Spiderman was going to lose his battle, and someone he holds close to his heart.
No, he thinks. He can’t let it happen again, he can’t. The few times Kinich opened his heart it was left broken, with the death of his father and now soon to be you. He can start to feel his arms weaken and-
“How did you beat me here!?” A scream comes from up top. Kinich’s eyes open in surprise, then his lips curve into a small smile.
“Ajaw, could you please get these mages out of their shields, I need to get our friend out of this pit.” He orders, no, commands Ajaw, to which he slowly complies. Ajaw begins to attack the abyss mages, holding his own as Kinich quickly pulls you up to the top, hoping you were still alive in his grappling hook.
“It’s funny really, I don’t understand why a simple researcher like you caught my eye.” Kinich mumbles to himself seeing your body appear from the purple smoke filled pit. Admittedly Kinich was scared out of his mind when you weren’t moving, but a simple pulse check let him know that you weren’t dead, but unconscious. A huge wave of relief flooded Kinich knowing you were safe. That’s when he swiftly grabbed his claymore which he had disregarded and landed the final attack on the abyss mages.
“We’ll report this to the warriors in Natlan. They’ll free the surviving Saurians.” Ajaw suggests which Kinich agrees.
Kinich reaches up and removes his mask, his face covered with scratches, blood, and sweat. Yet even so, he smiles warmly knowing that you were safe.
.
Your head is spinning. You can’t see anything. You’re asleep. You have to just wake up. Wake up.
“Ugrh.” You groan, slowly opening your eyes to a recovery room. “Where am I?” You manage to speak out loud.
“You’re awake! I’m glad. See Kinich here found you in a temple and apparently you were all passed out, if he were later you might’ve died.” The doctor explains to you. Kinich? He found you but the only one who was at the temple with you was- oh.
You quickly sit up surprising Kinich and the doctor who was at your side. You smile, “Thank you for the update doctor, but I need to speak with Kinich alone, if that’s alright.” You say weakly, nonetheless the doctor understands and leaves the two of you to your business.
“So, you’re Spiderman.” You state, waiting for him to deny, after all it can’t be true the the mercenary Kinich can also be the amazing Spider-
“Yeah.” He answers. Your thoughts pause, you freeze, and you just stare at him in shock.
“Why?” You ask, and he just tilts his head in confusion. “Why would you tell me your secret? I'm just a regular researcher, I don’t even have a vision.” You question, confused on why he would reveal his identity.
“It’s simple. Out of every fan I meet, you’re the only face I can remember, if I see you in a crowd I always tend to go into that direction. I may not even know your name but you show me with such care despite not knowing who I am.” Kinich confesses, a slight blush covering his cheeks.
“It’s right to be nice to everyone, even unknown identities.” You say.
“I guess you’re right, so will you humour me for a while and go on a date with me?” He asks you, looking at you with a warm gaze and a loving smile.
