It’s day 26 of Hollow Knight Art Month and these Kingsmould colleagues are just sharing a nice coffee and doughnut moment while waiting and waiting and waiting for somebody to fight. I have a feeling they may be waiting a while, but at least they enjoy each other’s company.

inktober day 11!! drew a kingsmould, standing guard at the entrance to the white palace! i sure hope the monarch whose protection is this fella's sole purpose hasn't been deceased on his throne for decades or anything!! :D

these goobers have such a cool design, but they're a bit tough to draw, especially in perspective (albeit very slight). still a fun time, although lighting was sorta tricky for this one, since light just sorta... exists in the white palace :)

i have recently decided that hk got bigger from killing a bunch of kingsmoulds and that is why the rest of the vessels are so small

that is an interesting way to explain it! it would make sense that they'd fight them as a form of training, and i could see it as them "absorbing" the void from the kingsmould in order to grow

personally, i like to think that, since the vessels are void beings, the proximity to the abyss plays a big role in how fast and how much they can grow. they all have the potential to reach their adult height, though the full size varies depending on other factors (like, for example, how well they were cared for, or whether they share more traits with their father or their mother, like i mentioned under my au designs)

thk/holly grew up in the ancient basin where the palace was, and they inherited many traits from the white lady, so that is why they are the tallest of the known vessels. their upbringing also contributed - even if they were, unfortunately, not seen as an actual child, they were still provided with everything necessary for fast and healthy growth. it's a combination of factors that makes it very unlikely for any other vessel to reach their impressive height

broken vessel/lost kin i imagine hatched later and are thus younger than thk, but they stayed in the basin following their escape from the birthplace. consequently, they were the second tallest at the moment of their death. although, if they were able to fully grow, they would still be shorter than thk due to the fact that they inherited more from their father

ghost spent most of their life far away from hallownest, and that stunted their growth. on top of that, they were unlucky in the gene lottery and, similarly to hornet, inherited their father's short height. even if they were raised in the palace alongside thk, they would still be noticeably shorter than them

though all of this raises the question: how many grown up vessels are there that we don't know of? i would say not many, though i imagine some of the dead vessels in the abyss are larger than their siblings, likely as a result of avoiding the climb and surviving for a bit longer before perishing. perhaps some of them managed to escape in that state, hallownest is massive, there ought to be a few vessels out there that survived. my oc, moss, would be one of them, since they were lucky enough to be found and raised by sheo. perhaps there are other vessels who shared their luck, maybe some of them left hallownest altogether, though that would certainly impact their growth just like it did to ghost

i know you said your ask has nothing to do with my au, but since you're visiting my house, i might as well infodump about it hahaha i hope you don't mind. i do really like your idea, though! i could absolutely see that as another of the factors that allowed thk to grow this much. i just like to think of other possibilities that would also explain the rest of the known vessels

I'm aslo totally normal about Sheo and his husband. Sweet sweet man. I hc'ed him as a transman some years ago and it didn't leave my brain since, and the gijinka I did of this guy is still gender goal. And he loves his brothers I am weak. And Mato....... im a bit more normal about him but ouuuguuuughhghhghh dad...... I just lowkey want to hols him in my hands and kiss his beetle head

Then Xero. BITING i love when ppl are like. Saying that he's an ant like Tiso. He's family. Yes. YES. YESSSSSS. I remember we did a fucked up story about it with my partner bc he's got a weird knowledge about animals and ants dynamics, so she told me that the gender-fuckery could be a good plot point (as i hc Tiso and I think Xero too as 2 transman, and Xero possibly as Tiso's father). BUT ALSO DUUUUUDE HE LITTERALLY SAID FUCK THE MONARCHY. AND HE'S SO FUCKING TRAGIC ABOUT IT. IDK WHAT HE SAYS IN ENGLISH BUT IN FRENCH, HE BROKE MY HEART.

I remember having a moment about the Collector as my gf loved the ship between them and Nosk, and the gijinka I did of them got me adoring that weird man. Like the Nailmasters, there's a lot of unfinished ? lore ? Around them like. Are they a sibling ? a vessel ? a naked kingsmould ??? Why do I do not gain mana from hitting them, what is wrong with them.

Oh and and and yeah the. the Soul Master. What is wrong with him. Why does he have fat Dr Strange x kitty cat vibes. Garfield vibes but feral. Fat magic kitty. I'm just so BIASED from @/palossssssand 's gijinkas. BUT ALSO WHAT DO YOU MEAAAAAN WE WAS TRYING TO BE GREATER THAN GOD ???? AND IT FUCKED UP SO BAD SOME PPL MELTED ?????? AND HE'S STILL UP THERE ALL PUFFY AND MIGHTLY ??? Also I'm pretty sure it would make more sense for him to not be fat since he's all dried up and skinny when you kill him, which means that he was probably puffing up and making himself looks bigger but. I'm a fat Soul Master believer til the end...

Also I know I'm not normal about Tiso and Quirrel (separately). My first tatoo might be about Quirrel actually. And Tiso is my son, my idiot, my fucking fool, my punching ball. My boy needs a father, or a mentor, and a tall bisexual to peg him. But those 2 are populars so I got my shit

Homebrew Race: The Moulds!

Hello! With the latest trailer for “Hollow Knight: Silksong” fresh in our minds, my little brothers and I have given ourselves the challenge to try to adapt every race from Team Cherry’s original “Hollow Knight” game into playable Race for D&D5E! (Save for Wyrms because we don’t know enough about them to try to canonize anything...)

Leading the charge is one that is of GREAT interest to me and that I don’t see discussed that often, the Pale King’s half-eldritch-half-science servants, The Moulds! Let me know what you all think and expect more as my brothers and I continue to develop them! 

(I did this one by myself as my brothers are handling their own races at the moment, so NO I didn’t forget to credit them!)
