Honestly if I ever got to write a Marvel series I’d want to do one on Ashley the Kingpin/Spider-B and call it ‘Ashley Takes Over the World’. Tonally somewhere between ‘Invincible’ and ‘I Hate Fairyland’, while matching that absurdist equal parts comedic and serious tone of ‘Chew’ and ‘The Unbelievable GwenPool’ (Gwen being in my idea for the series too, role being basically that of Piccolo in ‘Dragon Ball Z Abridged’), it would go all-in on how Ashley is very much a villain trying to to take over her post-apocalyptic world, but keeps getting pulled away from her goal, from all the Spider-Verse/Web-Warriors/Spider-Society events she keeps getting drawn into as the equivalent to what early stage Sinestro was to the Green Lantern Corps, to an endless number of aunts and uncles of hers she has to defeat in payoff to that one line one could arguably be taken to imply the Wastelands Spider-Man had had children with all his love interests. Some reinventions of existing ones, and some new (putting some Ditkovitch and Sanduval in there). Every time Ashley doing it without powers. There would be a powered pretender of Ashley in there too at one point, as a retcon on who that one Karen Ashley from ‘Venomverse’ was, and a place for new takes on Ultimate Spider-Woman and the Scarlet Spider Felicity Hardy. Concept art for ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ has them standing near/next to each other at one point and I think something could be done with that dynamic, given their respective backstories. Plus since Wastelands had a few heroes be villains, there would be some more of that, unlike what a lot of current Wastelands content seems to do. So things like Jennifer Banner of the Wastelands, sinister on a level beyond that of her cousin and their clan as a rival to Ashley in conquering the world, an insane Kamala Kang (the mashup character) taking influence from Angstrom Levy in being a time traveller/multiverse hopper irrationally hating all Spider-People, and Squirrel Girl Squirrel (yes saying squirrel twice), a more squirrel than girl Squirrel Girl seeking squirreld domination. Ruby Thursday would be there too.

Dude (gender neutral). That sounds genuinely amazing.

i read this book in one day because it was so tedious and annoying that i wanted to get it over with. the author really thought she was making an important statement on inner beauty, but ended being offensively stupid. the main character is a beautiful mary-sue who wears a fat suit to symbolize her own divestment from beauty? is this shallow hal? the magical realism was also extremely on the nose and silly. this book was BAD.

however, i have surpassed my goal, yay!

It was STEREOTYPICAL , of course, but at the same time, none of the idiots looking for them seemed to have thought of LOOKING above them just yet . “The amount of bitching you’re doing, I’m surprised none of those fuckers has heard us yet.” Ashley groaned as she tried to move around some more but only succeeded i probably getting even more stuck with the other Spider-girl in the vent. “Just try and suck it in so I can get in front, I know the way from here.”

“I dunno, I could think of a few things worse than this.” Ashley responded nonchalantly as she and Anya were pressed up against each other in the rather tight space. “Maybe if you didn’t have such a dumptruck ass, we’d have an easier time fitting here. Stacy doesn’t complain this much.”
