the thing about joseph musical is that at times the sincerity feels forced and at times the humor feels like annoying lampshading but overall. it does such a good job balancing the tone to have fun with the fact that this story is ridiculous while still emphasizing the aspects of it that are indeed profound

it is frightening and disturbing to hear Yoav Gallant call Palestinians "human animals" but I want those who are just tuning in to be aware that this dehumanizing rhetoric isn't new. also same question about magneto. wikipedia says erik means something like ruler or king, so maybe melech? or, if that's too literal, yehuda, shul, david, shlomo... I think shaul works. the midrashim are very clear that, despite it all, shaul was still a tzadik. something something great man making awful mistakes...idk
