Dante comes from a family deeply rooted in the performing arts. His parents, siblings, and relatives all embraced roles as playwrights, acrobats, and artists. However, unlike his kin, Dante grappled with a lack of interest and arguably lacked talent when it came to the customary tasks within the Cirque de Minuit. Despite being known for his smug charisma and being hailed as "beautiful as an angel," he found himself stuck selling popcorn at one of the dining areas within the expansive circus.

However, his life took a transformative turn when he conceived an idea that would alter his fate at the circus. A game — a scavenger hunt — a challenge for those, like him, who grew weary of conventional circus spectacles. What originated as a simple game gradually burgeoned into something far more significant. The rules were easy: "Find as many cards as possible throughout the circus premises, complete the task written on the back of the card, and receive a clue in return, that brings you closer to finding the king of spades card and winning the prize fund."

As the success of the scavenger hunt unfolded, not only did the prize fund escalate, but Dante also marveled at the dedication and energy participants invested in the game. Surprised by their willingness to finish the challenges he devised on the cards, he gradually increased the difficulty, eccentricity, and even danger. Astonishingly, rather than questioning the challenges, the allure of his game extended even to the circus employes. Some were eager to assist, while others were keen to place bets on the contestants.. and since the circus was always moving around, there were no consequences if some of the contestants got hurt.

For a while, this provided enough tension and entertainment. Yet, as months passed, Dante found himself plagued by a growing sense of uninspiration. He craved for more—desiring to immerse himself in the game, to be an active participant, and share in the enjoyment firsthand.

I love love love nationality headcanons, they're so fun to think of!! A reminder that these are my headcanons, I'm not here to start arguments. If anything does come across as offensive/innapropriate please let me know! I'll gladly fix it :)

For the most part, I based the Twst Character's nationalities off of where their stories take place (I'm not all that skilled in headcanons, apologies!!)

Riddle Rosehearts: Icelandic/Britsh

I have him as Icelandic purely because of LeafSheep's "Begin at the Beginning," the King Said!! Nordic Heartslabyul has my heart. and ofc since Heartslabyul is based on Alice in Wonderland, he's half-British in my headcanons

Ace Trappola: British

Alice in Wonderland :)

I don't have much to say about Ace, I kinda don't think about him all that much

Deuce Spade: Irish

In coming up with nationality headcanons, I wanted to explore more areas in the British Isles for the Heartslabyul students and eventually decided on Deuce being Irish! I had more reasonings but its 5 am and I cannot think for the love of me.

Cater Diamond: American with English/German heritage

I see myself in Cater. He's one of my highest kins, so he's 100% from West Coast USA. It also makes a lot of sense he'd be American looking at how similar some nations in the Twisted Wonderland universe are to nations in our own world! Pyroxene is really similar to the United States from what I've researched, and Cater's valley accent in the English version of the game really hits the mark :)

As for his heritage, he's English because of Alice in Wonderland and German because I feel it fits him very well

Trey Clover: British

I don't think about Trey often enough sorry :(((

I love him though he's so silly

Leona Kingscholar: Kenyan

The Lion King takes place in the Kenya area, and so I put him there!

Jack Howl: American with Kenyan/French heritage

Kenyan because Savanaclaw was based on the Lion King and that's set in Kenya

French because I have a sneaking suspicion Jack is based on the wolves from Beauty and the Beast

Ruggie: South African

Ruggie was hard to find a headcanon for, but I eventually just took someone else's headcanon that said he is South African

Azul Ashengrotto: Italian/French/Danish

All come from where the Little Mermaid is set in both the movie form and the Hans Christian Andersen form. The movie itself was set in the Mediterranean Sea, and I headcanon Azul's family to be from around the Nice, France area of the Mediterranean

Danish comes into play from the original source material for The Little Mermaid and the fact that the Coral Sea in Twst gets cold. Also to note, the Coral Sea on the map of Twisted Wonderland is close to the coast of the Queendom of Roses, which is pretty far north!

Jade and Floyd Leech: Danish

Putting these two together because twins

Pretty much the same reasonings as Azul, the book's settings and the Coral Sea :)

Scarabia

Kalim Al-Asim: Saudi Arabian

I'm going to be so honest, I don't think about Scarabia like... at all. So for Kalim, I'm going straight out of where Aladdin is supposed to be set

That also came as a problem, because the movie has a habit of mashing Middle Eastern cultures together. Though I did find that the movie takes place in the Arabian Desert which narrows where Aladdin was filmed to a myriad of countries, one of which is Saudi Arabia

I decided to go with Saudi Arabia since a majority of the desert does reside within that country.

Jamil Viper: Saudi Arabian/South Asian

Same thing as for my headcanons with Kalim, and I got the South Asian headcanon from a mutual on TikTok

The platonic yanderes I've mentioned before all have nicknames and relationships with their bby (a.k.a. you, the reader!). How they met their bby is considered a special, life-changing moment in their eyes, and they are protective in their own... special... ways. But that story will come at a later date. For now, I think I should delve into some smaller stuff , so let's explore the type of humor and nicknames between these platonic yans and their bby:

Villainous Theory: The Set-Up

(posting this before Chapter 10 gets uploaded this week and this might get debunked 😂)

I feel like Porccini is the one who set up the Villains to be captured in Chapter 9.

[Translation]

TO ALL UNITS.

TARGETS ARE LEAVING THROUGH THE EAST DOOR.

He probably made a deal with Captain Estrada and lured a bunch of Villains like Iluminarrow and Mawrasite, who are desperate for money, to the hero rehab facility to be captured in exchange for Miss Heed, who he is still simping for.

In Chapter 6 Miss Valdoom says that Porccini was a Miss Heed fan, who was not even hypnotized, and assumed that he wanted revenge on her for choosing Flug over him, despite everything he did for her.

But I feel like this is just from Miss Valdoom's point of view.

[Translation]

Miss Valdoom: WHEN THAT PROBLEMATIC KISS APPEARED EVERYWHERE.

HIS HEART BROKE.

HE FELT DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE HIS "BELOVED QUEEN" PREFERRED ANOTHER DESPITE EVERYTHING HE'S DONE FOR HER.

[Translation]

Miss Valdoom: OBVIOUSLY

HE IS SURELY AS DISTRESSED AS THE REST OF HER "FANS".

AND WANTS TO MAKE HER PAY FOR BREAKING HIS HEART

IT'S THE MOST STUPID, RIDICULOUS, AND CHILDISH REASON IF YOU ASK ME.

(Note: Initially I thought the dart board with Miss Heed's vandalised face was the same one as the poster Porccini had, but looking back it's a different one that probably belongs to Miss Valdoom. That might be internationally used to serve as a red herring)

My theory is that Porccini wanted to rescue Miss Heed, who everyone abandoned and had nothing left, so that she would feel indebted to him fall for him afterwards.

Evidence to support is in Chapter 3, when Porccini got a call from an important person and in Chapter 9, Captain Estrada was notified of the Villains in the hero rehab facility from an unknown number.

In Chapter 9, After the P.E.A.C.E. officers arrived and Illuminarrow and Mawrasite escaped the facility and concluded that a traitor set this up to betray the Villains and The Porccini family and they will get a reward if they warn him.

[Translation]

Iluminarrow: WE MUST BE CAREFUL MAWRIE. WHOEVER IS THE ONE WHO BETRAYED THE VILLAINS AND THE PORCCINI FAMILY COULD COME AFTER US.

Mawrasite: SO WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ELI?

Iluminarrow: YOU HEARD WHAT HUMIKO SAID. WHOEVER PLANNED THIS WANTED TO BETRAY THE PORCCINI FAMILY, MAYBE WE CAN GO WITH HIM TO EXPLAIN OUR INNOCENCE ... AND MAYBE HE WILL REWARD US!

Mawrasite: WHAT?

Iluminarrow: THINK ABOUT IT MAURIE, MAYBE WE DON'T HAVE HEED'S REWARD OR V.I.R.U.S. BUT MAYBE PORCCINI CAN OFFER A REWARD TO WHOEVER WARNS HIM THAT THERE IS A TRAITOR WORKING FOR HIM!

What might happen in Chapter 10 and how the comic will end

My theory is that Miss Heed was probably long gone by the time all the Villains arrived in Chapter 8 and live feed was just a pre-recording planted to fool the Villains.

In Chapter 10 Miss Heed will probably be there with Porccini when Illuminarrow and Mawrasite come back to warn him, much to their shock.

How the comic will end might be that Illuminarrow and Mawrasite will get captured by Porccini to be sent to P.E.A.C.E. but they will manage to escape, possibly with the help of Humiko who most probably followed them at the end followed them at the end of Chapter 9.

However Illuminarrow will still not have money to pay her rent in Chapter 1, so she will end up having to move in with Mawrasite.

Or alternatively, both of them might get some money out of this from King Casino who sent his personal assassins after whoever destroyed his casino in Chapter 6 and might use the two to go after The Porccini Family who is as mentioned in Chapter 4, is their rival family and both of them hate each other's guts. 👀

Before reading this, the outline of the project can be found here which you will need to read as well. This post describes all the specifications for the stories specifically.

First: the prompts

As mentioned in the main information post, there are four kingdoms, one for each suit, each of which has a designated realm. Based on the suit and its King, the kingdoms also have certain traits characteristic of their domain which can be interpreted as much or as little as you want.

For the sake of reference, the cards of each realm will be included before the prompt:

In the Kingdom of Spades, known as the Realm of Dreams by most, knowledge of the mind and intricacies thereof is paramount. Though a seemlingly calm people, ebbing and flowing as of streaming thought, dreams are known to turn, a nightmare inbound for those who do not heed the warnings. The King of its kin, known as He Who Wanders the Space Between, is as mysterious as he is open, private as he shares, deep in the shallows of the phyche. Should one come to meet the souls of this Kingdom, beware of your innocence and the purity of mind as, though they may protect it, stings of curruption may as well make them your doom.

The Kingdom of Hearts, Realm of Desires King Viktor, Reflection of Truth Queen Mila, Driver of Passion Knight Michele, Carrier of Pride Ace of the Kingdom Chris, Allure of the Soul

The Kingdom of Hearts, inhabitants of the Realm of Desires, are driven beyond compare, their souls burning with passion and bodies with dedication. There is no place they cannot reach, obsession claiming one too many as joy and fullfilment turns to longing and despair. Ruler of the land, known as He Who Reads the Heart, leaves no desire untouched, bringing forth truth and love as he strikes down the hateful among. Should you encounter the fickle people of this realm, complex to the point of distraction, may your heart guide you true and let you walk free of the yearning aches of your mortal soul.

The Kingdom of Clubs, Realm of Stories King Phichit, Weaver of Legends Queens Axel, Lutz and Loop, Keepers of Tales Knight Sara, Borrower of Sorrows Aces of the Kingdom Phichit's Hamsters, Critters of Song

In the Kingdom of Clubs, the Realm of Stories and ruled by threes, one must always use their critical eye. A place of entertainment, fun and laughter, dishonesty runs rife as lies, deceit and trickery is built into the people's cores, twisting, turning and manipulating the narratives they weave. King of their ilk, known as He Who Fibs the Fibber, spins legends from grain, brings fun, dance and song as his critters follow and exposes the beguiler for the corruption of the art. Should you meet his people you are sure to take away the most fantastical of tales but beware of their spiel as they may soon make you the fool of their tragedies.

The Kingdom of Diamonds, Realm of Treasures King Yuri, The Orphan King Queen Georgi, The Broken Star Knight Jean Jacques, The False King Ace of the Kingdom Otabek, The Deep Shadow

The Kingdom of Diamonds, known as the Realm of Treasures in many capacities, is a talented people, thriving on competition and striving for achievement. It is an easy origin of greed, those who reach for grandeur and riches beyond their means bound for a tragic fate. The young orphaned King, He Who Humbles the Deluded, is as gifted as he is cunning, successful beyond his years as he peers into rich shadow. Should your path cross that of this kingdom's people, you may find your searches serendipitous but be mindful that a corrupt soul finds no more than the rotten returns of its sacrifices.

Free of the restraint of a realm are the Jokers:

Makkachin, the Joker of Companionship, has seen many places and accompanied many a soul. Originally of the Kingdom of Hearts, her care for others runs deep as does her ability to soften any frozen chest and rigid mind.

Vicchan, the Joker of Memory, will linger wherever he goes and remain in the hearts of those he meets. Originally of the Kingdom of spades, he, as the ruler of his fount, sees the mind and saunters where no mortal can, revealing secrets yet untold.

Again, these are up for interpretation and should not be considered hard rules you must follow. Think of them more as those fancy descriptions of places found in old fairy tales that are vague and exaggerated on purpose for the imagination of the reader. If something doesn't quite fit, may it rest in the descriptions of the past.

There is also no specific writing style or time period required but keep in mind the aesthetic of the setting. Think of this as a Royalty AU. You decide what that entails.

And as mentioned in the main post, you are highly encouraged to reach out to the other authors of your suit to make the kingdom seem connected, especially if you reference other characters than your own in your ficlet. Writers of typically connected characters (i.e. Viktor and Yuuri) are also very welcome to keep that connection and work with the writer for the other card.

In terms of rating, please keep them rated for General audiences or Teens and up as Mature and Explicit make the ficlets inaccessible to some, especially younger readers. If you're unsure if your writing is too close to M or E, please reach out to Arrow or Lil on the server or directly.

As for technicalities, the stories are meant to be ficlets (100-1000 words), one made for each character which ideally contains some description of them and their place in the kingdom. Otherwise you have creative freedom in terms of content. If you feel inspired to write longer fics, you're welcome to do so as well but they will not be the main fic connected to the character through this event. They will however be linked in the final master post of links if you wish.

If you have ideas for stories that take place in the kingdoms or the universe but aren't necessarily about a single character, you're very welcome, in fact encouraged to write those as well. They will be linked in the master post as well if you wish, much like the longer fics.

Your ficlets can be posted to almost any site though it's recommended that you use either AO3 or Wattpad as those are what the admin team for this event are familiar with. If you have questions about platforms/websites feel free to contact Arrow or Lil. If you don't have an online platform where you post your writing, this blog can post it for you with links to your blogs or profiles.

As stated in the main post, the deadline for your ficlets is the 31st of August. Please keep the final versions off social media and your fanfiction site of choice until this deadline. By the start of September, you're free to post but please have them posted before the 8th of September as the final master post of links will be posted on the 9th. Posting later can result in your link not being part of reblogged posts. As for where you can submit your works once finished and posted, please send the link to the ficlet to Arrow or Lil in the server or directly and it will be added to the final master post. For those without a platform, please send them as either a Word or Google document. If formatting is important to the fic, send a PDF.*

~| Land of Shards AU Preview! |~

In this post, I’ll be going through all of the student characters and providing material for viewers of this AU to get excited about. Unfortunately, I don’t currently have much history/plot for the NRC or RSA staff just yet, nor do I have anything for the dwarves or Prince Rielle, but I’m working on it still.

This AU is still a work in progress. As a refresher for those who saw my previous post about it, and a bit of information for those who didn’t, this AU is set in a dark fantasy version of Twisted Wonderland. There are very few humans, very few beastkins other than werewolves, and technology is very limited.

This AU is the combined efforts of myself and my friend RinRin, but was inspired by a oneshot piece I read a few months ago involving the Pomefiore trio as the heads of a vampire clan. More information will be provided when I release the final draft. But for now, I hope this is enough.

As a headnote, this list of character pieces is not strictly for simps or kinnies. It is for all who are interested in this AU. If you don’t simp for or kin any of these characters, then the neutrality of each blip of information should still be entertaining for you. Riddle: Has one too many screws loose and kicked the asses of his abusers. Lives on the coast and has a deep hatred of Azul. Keeps his palace looking very pretty.

Trey: Is the voice of reason, but still manages to be oddly off putting. Royal baker, but also Riddle’s most trusted advisor. Does not have his glasses.

Cater: Enjoys taking on the shapes of other people and creatures, and sometimes even objects, as a means of winning hide and seek bets.

Ace: Knows how to paint and regularly redoes the paint jobs on Riddle’s fine china.

Deuce: Actually fights with a spade and tends to take on the form of a crow or raven in the warmer months and a snowy owl in the colder ones.

Leona: Finally got his wish to be king, but rules over nothing but a crumbling wasteland.

Ruggie: Gets a serious kick out of terrifying visitors from other nations and clans. Chenya taught him that.

Chenya: Is actually aligned with Leona and Ruggie and is, as far as we know, the last housecat beastman in the entire world. Close friends with Ruggie.

Azul: Owns a seedy underwater nightclub, or the fantasy equivalent to it. More often than not gets his contracts and henchmen through use of a siren’s song. Like Trey, does not have his glasses

Jade: As close to normality as there is in the ocean. Azul’s right hand.

Floyd: Handles the allure of the nightclub to draw people in. Acts as a bouncer when working, more out of enjoyment than anything.

Kalim: Still just as soft and kind as ever. Doesn’t recall any of his history beyond a desert and a lot of fire.

Jamil: One of the lower ranks in the werewolf pack, but very feisty. Can still cook and has a love of wild berries.

Jack: Alpha of the pack, and that’s the biologically accurate Alpha. As in, just a really good mom. Cares for the pack and would die for them.

Najima + Jacks little siblings: Also members of the pack. Najima still gets a kick out of messing with Jamil and Jack’s little brother and sister, Julian and Jill, intensely admire their older brother and want to be just like him, even if he’s a hardass sometimes.

Vil: Pureblood vampire king. Has large, batlike wings and owns a hand mirror attached to a chain that allows him to see anybody he knows without them seeing him.

Rook: Was once a vampire hunter. Is still in contact with his family in order to find and slaughter corrupted vampires.

Epel: Still as feisty as ever. Possesses the ability to drain somebody of their energy through dancing with them.

Neige: Is far smarter than he appears. Wishes to bring monsters and the few remaining humans together through the arts and has domain over half of Sage Island.

Idia: Is a duke living near an opening to the Underworld. Married and bound to his wife for eternity, but does not love her and only married her for the sake of his brother. Nicknamed, “The Shut-In King.”

Ortho: Is a mechanical robot powered by steam, clocks and a bit of magic. His flaming heart can be seen inside a crystal orb in a bronze cage inside his chest. Enjoys playing with the forest animals near the estate. Nicknamed, “The Prince of Angels.”

Malleus: King of his homeland and rules with an iron fist. Has a tattoo of his family crest on his back and wears a circlet made of tungsten and snowflake obsidian. Has a slightly unnerving neutral smile.

Lilia: Acts as the guardian and trainer of Malleus, Sebek and Silver. Knows his way around all types of weapons and is not above violent interrogation methods.

Sebek: Malleus’ most trusted knight and possibly his ward. Has a one sided rivalry with the king that he refuses to speak about.

Silver: Officially has, ‘Vanrouge,’ as his surname. One of the few humans left. Senses are so sharp that even the slightest sound will wake him and he’ll already have his dagger drawn before you can blink.

Grim: Likes to consider himself the pirate king, but really wouldn’t have gotten this far without his first and second mates. Is still extremely angry and adorable.

Yuu: Grim’s first mate and is often left to clean up his messes by themself. Has extremely tired eyes and a bored sounding voice. Female presenting, but is nonbinary.

Yuuken: Is a different person from Yuu. Grim’s declared second mate and often handles piloting the ship. Close friends with Yuu. Male presenting, but is also nonbinary.

I hope this was worth the wait from when I said I’d post it. I know it isn’t much, but I’m partway done with the draft and am working to make it as pretty and aesthetically pleasing as I can, which isn’t easy given my blindness.

What would you do if you suddenly died unexpectedly and then reincarnated as one of the minor antagonists of the game. 5 friends in the real world, but not as in childhood or school. They are more of online friends with different ambitions to achieve and different interests. One like to create a music and play instruments, another one like art and craft, and creating a sculpture, the other loves pulling a trick and performing the art of "magic" trick, another one is a law student studying to get his early diploma, and lastly, an intelligent individual that are still in highschool but have a mind that everyone couldn't rival of. One day, they play a new online game that's been released in all types of mobile technology. All of them had set a schedule to play together. And when that time comes, all of them at the same time login to the game but unnoticed the danger ahead. One of them is going to get something from their kitchen but when they go down the stairs, they accidentally slip and fall down the stairs. To say the injuries, it is not the lightest injury at all… And when the person opens their eyes, they suddenly realise their surroundings. They've been Isekai to some places, but those places... is more of the game they were originally playing with their friends. And here they are, reincarnated as one of the characters in the game they were playing, Elijah Heartsworth, the young  of Spade and soon-to-be-king, a minor antagonist of this said game.

What is the genre for Ace of Cards?

-The genre of it is mysteries, thrill, Isekai, supernatural, magic, fantasy.

Is there any inspiration for this story?

-The characters and the story are all inspired by other Isekai stories and also inspired by a Tarot Card. I am a fan of Vocaloid, and one time I heard of a song called “Alice In Human Sacrifice” English cover when I was young. I was so naive and English is not my first language. So, a little more inspiration for that. 

When will it come out?

-When I am finally done with the plot and the twist of the story.

-I have done what they're appearance looks like, I will post it later.

-I do.

-It is alright to ship the characters of my story and also headcanon them. As long as it is a legal ship and also none of the characters of mine are out of character. And it is alright to make a theory of them, let alone analyse them with all you want! I would love to read it.

What makes you want to write your book?

-I was thinking of making an Isekai story like all the Isekai books I have read before. I want to learn how to write a story that are not specifically a modern style timeline. I want to see the difference I can make with modern life and fantasy life.

I'm not the only one who likes to project all my insecurities and fears onto a single character, even though that character is your favorite but you just want to see them suffer just so you can relate to someone because you feel like everyone else is normal and your fears are too weird, but you also want that character to have the happiest life and the life you've always wanted, and simultaneously make stories about them being the most powerful evil villian in the universe, right?
