Random question.

I'm wondering if you have any pointers on using tumblr new to the social platform and completely lost aha!!

hi and welcome ! Just want to clear something up rq, I’m not Kylie! Just a fanpage/blog. :)

Anyways, some pointers for beginners:

- your blog layout: this is arguably the most fun part! you can change your header, icon (pfp) and bio to anything you’d like! many people (such as myself) will block empty + inactive blogs so make sure to play around with it!

- your dashboard: the tumblr equivalent to a timeline, it’s where posts/reblogs from those you follow appear (with the occasional post from tags you follow any)

- follow tags: you can follow tags relating to anything you might be interested in!

- reblog posts: tumblr is more like twitter than instagram and it’s very highly recommended to reblog posts rather than liking them. it also helps to expose other users to posts they might not have seen otherwise (+ no one likes an empty blog). keeping your ‘like’ tab open is okay for the most part.

- liking posts: the ‘like’ system is much like (lol) every other platform, but doesn’t do much for the tumblr ecosystem. reblogging is essential!

- tagging system: tags are there to help you organize your blog, add any thoughts you might have, but most importantly they’re there to help other users find your posts! I’d suggest looking at some blogs to get a sense of how others utilize the feature. fair warning though, the tagging system on tumblr isn’t the greatest so, it might take some trial and error.

- followers/following: numbers are irrelevant on this platform with the exception of notes (the combination of reblogs, likes and replies). the amount of followers someone has is only visible to them and no one else. there is no such thing as an influencer on this app/website!

- the actual ‘social’ part: the replies section of every post is pretty much like a comment section. private dms are also a thing!

Whatever the case is, you can always find inspiration or some well-deserved quiet time to daydream here on the blog.

Today, I am happy to be sharing this gorgeous home designed by The LifeStyled Company.

Kristen Forgione, the creator + principal designer, together with LCo lead designers, Kylie Ray and Rachel McCloskey, teamed up with E&S Builders on this project, and the result was stunning! This project was a new build in Paradise Valley, AZ, and the team worked together with the client to make the home all things luxe, chic and organic desert living!
