Pacific Rim x Godzilla bc they'll never make that damn movie.

Godzilla coming back from hibernation only to find alien kaiju destroying his world. (Maybe Kong comes up from inner earth to check out the sudden racket/sudden disappearance of the humans, mainly Jia, from inner earth. Imagine if Jia grew up to pilot a Jaeger.)

Cue shocked Pikachu Godzilla when he watches an alien kaiju get torn apart by a giant robot. There's also the multitude of kaiju skeletons and people with shops full of kaiju organs they sell. Poor old man is so confused, but maybe the advance in tech could help translate and make communication between the two species possible.

Godzilla being out of the picture guarantees Kong is stuck on Hollow Earth considering their agreement. Enough opportunity for the Pacific Rim kaiju to wreak havoc and force human civilization that they can't rely on either to survive anymore. Jia definitely would be a Jaeger Pilot with hers having inspiration from Kong himself.

A Kaiju crashing into Godzilla's home definitely wakes him up. He's immediately overwhelmed by the massive surge of alien presence all over the world and the lack in Titans' own. The Jaeger currently fighting the monster would definitely recognize Godzilla.

One thing the PPDC were researching had been his possible location and the reason why he hasn't awakened for so long. Godzilla notices the Jaeger so the lizard dips to Hollow Earth before they could even move. Despite how much he hates getting help from the Great Apes, mainly Kong, things have changed too much for him to do this alone.

Meanwhile the PPDC are trying to get their prototype translator operational. Humans may have the power to now fight back, but even they know their limits. The Jaegers cannot operate without two people nor run for very long if the pilots valued their lives.

A Titan can do a lot more with less hassle. It's time that they reestablish their ancestral roots. Humans and titans must work together now more than ever.

One of my fave narratives of the writer's strike was watching every studio-friendly Hollywood news source go ":( this movie was delayed due to the mean ol' strike", meanwhile random Wallace and Gromit-obsessed Twitter account DiscussingFilm would include "because studio executive, [executive name], refuses to pay workers fairly out of greed" on literally every piece of news, no matter how tangential to the strike, and anyway I'm pleased to see they're still at it

honestly i love that we're getting two totally different godzilla projects at the same time, i know some people don't love that godzilla strayed so far away from what he once was and what he once represented but like it or not that's what he is now, and that's what a lot of people grew up on and why a lot of people became fans in the first place. godzilla is an allegory, a representation of collective fear and anxiety, a manifestation of hatred and violence and senseless destruction and sometimes he's a hero, a protector, a goofy children's mascot who boxes other giant monsters and sells merchandise. he's both, he's always going to be both and i love that we have Godzilla: Minus One and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire releasing within less than a year from each other. it's the best of both worlds, there's something for everybody. I can't wait to watch them and i know that i wil thoroughly enjoy both films for what they are <3 i love godzilla so much :)
