King Dorian Havilliard will ALWAYS have my heart. The worst part of KOA is no closure between him and Manon like give me more!!!

So I am finally reading the throne of glass series and I’m currently tandem reading Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn. I’ve been restraining myself from posting about it because I really don’t want any spoilers but I just have to say one thing:

They need to leave King Dorian Havillard alone…..

I’ve got to the part in EoS where Manon is a “prisoner” on their ship and Dorian went to see her one night. (Also that scene🥵) The next day Dorian’s like “we should let her out some” or something along those lines. And the way Aelin immediately shuts him down….infuriates me. Like he literally has to remind her that he’s just as much king as she is queen just for her to think of him as an equal. Also it pissed me off how everyone is so poised to defend Aelin (given they are her court) and yet no one (except Chaol in the southern continent) is there to defend Dorian. Like where is Dorian’s court?????

I just really felt the pain for Dorian in the moment cause it was almost like he couldn’t say a word without Rowan or Aedion or even like Fenrys at this point acting all defensive. Like why is Aelin’s word so sacred? Dorian’s even older than her and has been trained to be a king his whole life. I just really hated that they seemed to look down on Dorian and his opinion AND that it was like by the grace of god (being Aelin) that they even heard him out??? Like he hasn’t done anything to deserve that disrespect. If anything, he’s more good and pure than the rest of them and they’re looking down on him for it????

That’s my only rant I want to say before I’ve finished the whole series.
