HUGS! (ft. Kirby characters) pt.1

He's my baby, He's our baby. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

He'll be more than happy to hug you if he knows you. After all, (almost) everyone is his friend!

He'll make happy sounds, and will ask you to hold him.

May or may not fall asleep in your arms...

He doesn't need a reason, he's just made of love <3

But if I had to write about any situation... it'd be this:

You had a rough day, Meta Knight's hard training lessons, Dedede's nagging, and various things that just drained your energy. You were in the beach, looking at the sea as your thought started to fill your mind. If only you could mute your consciousness...

What you didn't notice, however, was the small heroe next to you, who let out a concerned "poyo?" At the sight of a sad friend.

You didn't notice him run away either, but you did saw him running back to you with some apples. He sat next to you and gave you one of them happily, as if he were trying to cheer you up. He listened to your problems, and even if he didn't understand some of them, he comforted you as best as he could.

You two saw the sunset begin, and he jumped in your arms. It was int that moment that you realize that you'll always have a friend who's willing to listen to you, no matter what. Although he may fall asleep in your arms after that, like what was happening at the moment.

Meta knight

No. At least, not without asking for permission.

Let's be honest, he's a cold knight and even if he cares for his friends he's not a fan of physical contact.

So it takes a lot, A LOT of hard work to get him to trust you. Many battles and long training sessions, nights of talking and insufferable scolding during hikes.

He does that because he cares for your safety, but you're still a stranger to him. Though, your resilience and kindness have surprised this stoic knight.

Seeing you work hard and smile everyday was suspicious, not many are able to pass his training...

But one day, he saw you crying in your quarters out of exhaustion. He felt... guilty.

So he decided to set his ego to the side and apologize.

Try to imagine the expression under his mask when you told him you just wanted to make him proud because you didn't feel like you belonged to dreamland. :(

He hugged you. It was akward, yes, but it's the thought that matters. He feels bad for you, after all.

Meta had the great Idea of asking you to meet up for lunch the next day, to get to know eachother.

King Dedede

In his defense, he was very cold.

Winter in Dreamland, a strange sight but always welcomed by the most playful ones.

You came to Dreamland not too long ago, and the self-claimed king has hated you ever since. I mean, getting back at him for his insults is so unfair....! (Cue him throwing a fit at poor escargoon because you always manage to see him coming at you with a new scheme to ruin your day)

So when he saw you giving away sweet, hot chocolate to people in the town, he became furious (He wanted you to offer him hot chocolate too). He got closer to throw subtle comments about your chocolate not being tasty, and it ended up in a snowball fight.

What he didn't expect, was you covering him completely in snow.

It seems like Meta knight's training was worth it, after all.

This all leads us to the current situation: him having catched a cold and staying in your guest room at the castle. "It was your fault, you take care of him" (Escargoon's words).

He looked at your figure entering the bedroom with some (burning hot) soup and a cup, not really being in the mood to take medicine. You had to practically force him to finish the soup, but there were no problems when he realized the mysterious cup was filled with your hot chocolate.

After that, when the tiredness started to kick in, you decided it was a good moment to get to know him. Turns out he's not that bad, he's just... lonely. And traumatized (For everything that happens to him in the games).

You were about to go away, but he stopped you. You were about to ask why, when he sat up amd wrapped his arms around you. "Please" was the only thing he said. You really couldn't say no, huh?

You may have gotten a cold last night, but hey, at least you don't have a tyrant making your life impossible everyday! Now, you just have a whiny penguin nagging you with his schemes and plans. If you already understood Escargoon's suffering, now you two bond over it. Waddle Dee's

MY BABIES

It was an average friday. You used to watch movies every friday night before coming to Dreamland, and it didn't change since there were TV's here too.

You put on whatever movie you could find, grabbed some snacks, a blanket, and sat on the couch. Everything was normal, until you heard a soft knock on the door. It was Bandana Waddle Dee, who came to see if you were doing alright. You cpuld tell he was happy when you offered him to sit next to you.

You talked to him through the entire movie, sharing the snacks and the blankets, carrying him to his quarters when he fell asleep. (He's so pure I can't-)

He came back the next friday, and the next, but that time he brought two other Waddle Dee's with him, claiming that they were following him. Fortunately, you had more that enough snacks for everyone.

But as weeks passed, your room started to get more crowded, to the point that you had to improvise a projector in the gardens and organise the snack and blankets/pillows situation.

By the time two months had passed, and you moved to the plaza (people like Dedede, Escargoon or Meta Knight may be in the crowd, but disguised or hidden, trying not to be suspicious they are).

However, you'll always be surrounded by a pile of happy Waddle Dee's, with any lucky one sleeping in your arms. It's safe to say that they absolutely adore you.

Ok first of all, I want to let you know that I'm aware that you can't catch a cold for not wearing a coat or being cold, it's just series/games/fanfic logic. I just feel the need to clarify this..

So yeah

Oh you are in for a treat!

This man loves you to do death, I mean like, he love love loves you. He likes when you sort of get overprotective over him (hint: hes gonna do something and your trying your best to prevent him from doing whatever)

"Sire, are you sure this is a good idea? What if y/n doesn't approve of this and then stops us! "Hehe, escargoon you make me laugh! Of course they wouldn-" "dedede? Are you trying to get rid of kirby again?" "Told ya sire."

After that you two or erm three went back to the castle and you gave him a good lecture. And cuddles afterwards :)) you being the big spoon of course.

Escargoon

He relies on you 24/7. King dedede is treating him unfair? Your there. Ect, your there to protect him. And sometimes you guys on little picnic dates whenever he has free or a day off (which is rare) you to sometimes go your room balcony in the castle and have a mini picnic date there.

You two sometimes go to Cappy Town and have a date at chef kawasakis after his shift. After alll of that you give him a big hug, go back to the castle, and cuddle in bed as the big spoon. Maybe tomorrow he'll be big spoon. Maybe.

Hey, can I see what your other Kirby ships look like?

Hahaha I'm going to be totally real, there really aren't a lot of other Kirby ships I actively think about other than metadede-!! -u-'

I don't know what it is, but that particular ship just happened to scratch an itch in my brain I didn't know I had lol. And I only really started shipping it around a year and a half ago! A King and a knight who have worked together through the ages and both have really interesting and different personalities and likes and dislikes... I have a lot of fun with them! I never thought I'd ever gain the confidence to regularly produce and share ship content on any platform. So I was happily surprised and grateful to find a little corner on the internet here to share my thoughts on them with willing readers haha.

Other than that.... I don't have a strict list of ships I stick to! I feel like I keep saying this kind of thing, but in most cases I get more enjoyment seeing other people's interpretations of ships more than producing them myself! The Kirby universe is rich with characters and a wonderful space to explore character interactions and relationships with each other (platonic or romantic or otherwise!)

I mean, I know everyone interprets Kirby character ages differently which is also cool and all! I just have my own set of established headcanons that I've been slowly cultivating since I got introduced to the series 15 or so years ago.

I personally see characters like Kirby, Bandee, the other Waddle Dees, Ribbon, Adeleine, Gooey, Prince Fluff, Elfilin, etc. as children. They're powerful and brave and very unique from each other, but still kids in my eyes.

And then there's the characters like Dedede, Meta Knight, Queen Ripple, Daroach, Hyness, etc. that are characterized definitively as adults. And other characters like Magolor, Taranza, Susie, the Mage Sisters, etc. that might be interpreted differently by different people, at least from what I have personally seen! (But I see them as adults, personally)

Again this is all my personal opinion haha. I quietly stay away from ships that mix characters from my personal child and adult categories above- (which are not exhaustive lists because this post would be ten million words if I tried to list every single Kirby character, and are my personal characterizations and not me trying to impose my views as the one, canon interpretation!).

OC x Canon is also enjoyable in my book as long as the ages and dynamics are appropriate and consensual for both parties :)

And I don't need or want to make a list of everything I stay away from or anything. I don't feel that strongly about it. I guess my biggest personal example is that if someone ships Metakirby or Dedekirby (or their respective mirror versions), I'm not going to enjoy or support that no matter what their creator's justifications/reasonings for shipping those are. I'm just going to stay away from that ardently.

Anyway, I'm not trying to be controversial or say my opinion is fact either! These are just my personal thoughts and feelings and I curate my internet experience accordingly. My interests change all the time, I just enjoy seeing character interactions and stories written with love and passion!

....If I had to pick another ship that I like thinking about, I guess I'd pick Magoranza. It's fun to think about how they'd interact with each other, and sometimes I like to think of Magolor and Taranza as Garak and Bashir from Star Trek hehehe.

TL;DR: At the time of writing this post I only like creating metadede content for Kirby ships but I quietly enjoy a variety of other people's ships.

cuddling dedede VS. cuddling meta knight, pros and cons?

KING DEDEDE Pros: -He is BIG and SOFT and WARM. Literally cuddle shaped.

-His need for attention means he is ready to cuddle whenever, if you even look a little sad he will be there.

-Cuddle pile with some of the Waddle Dees, you are going to be snuggled to death.

Cons:

-He is liable to being possessed or kidnapped at any moment.

-You both get too warm in the summer, cuddling in the summer is a nightmare and you are both dying.

META KNIGHT Pros: -You get to see a softer side of him and often get to see him without his mask.

-His wings are great blankets! He can wrap them around you very easily.

-Very calming and relaxing.

Cons:

-He will literally abandon you to go fight somebody.

-If somebody walks in while you two are cuddling he will disappear and will not be seen again for 3 days.

He’s not very good with plants so of course having a gardener makes sense, though he doesn’t check on the garden much

He watched you from the palace, you made the garden work look easy, and you could keep just about any plant alive, it was impressive

He decided to go out and greet you, just talk and ask what you knew about the flowers and how to care for them

He subtly learns how to take care of flowers to try and empress you, even getting special care pants like palm trees, but he ends up running to you because he can’t keep them alive

Meta Knight x Reader- Panic Attack

Boom!

You heard a loud bang outside the room. Your eyes jolted towards the door.

A boisterous laugh sounded, followed by a cackle. Dedede and Escargoon.

Crash!

The sound of glass shattering.

You felt your heartbeat quicken. Shakily, you got to your feet and made your way to the door. As you were about to open it, there was a knock on the other side, which caused your already tensed body to jump, and a soft squeak to leave you.

“(Y/n), it’s me,” a familiar voice spoke from the other side.

You breathe a sigh of relief. Meta Knight.

You open the door and are greeted with Meta Knight’s yellow eyes meeting yours.

“Sir Meta Knight, what are you doing here?”

“Checking up on you. You heard the loud noises, too?” He asks.

“Yeah, I was actually about to go see what it was. It, well, it has me worried,” you admit.

“As it does me,” Meta Knight answers. “Though I know Dedede is behind this, I don’t know what he’s up to,” he turns back to you, extending a hand. “Would you like to join me, my dear?”

You blushed at his ‘dear,’ but placed your hand in his nonetheless. He notices.

“No need to be shy, (Y/n). We are dating now, afterall.”

The mention of this only made your cheeks grow darker.

“I know, it’s just,” you started as the two of you began to walk together, “It feels nice when you call me that.”

“Dear?”

“Yeah,” you smile.

“Well then I’ll make sure to do it often, my dear,” one of his eyes, currently a pink shade, winks at you behind his mask. Your cheeks matched the color of his eyes as you quickly averted your gaze.

BOOM!

The commotion sounded closer, and Meta Knight instinctively jumped between you and the direction it came from. His hand gripped the hilt of his sword.

“It came from the throne room,” He said.

Your legs suddenly felt a bit shaky. But you followed after Meta Knight as he led the way.

You opened the doors of the throne room, and as you did, something fired towards you. Meta Knight pushed the two of you down just in time as the projectile whooshed overhead. A second later the deafening sound of the cannon hit you, a loud rumble that reverberated through your chest. And then the bright light from the flash. All of it culminated into one big overstimulated nightmare.

“Meta Knight, what in the world are you doing!?” A shout from Dedede.

Your heart was pounding.

“Yeah, you shouldn’t get in the way when we’re trying out new weapons!” Escargoon’s yelling echoed through your skull.

You couldn’t control your breathing. You shouldn’t be breathing this heavily.

“Sire, with all due respect, the castle doesn’t make for a very good shooting range,” Meta Knight.

Oh god, your throat was closing up. Your body was shaking. Everything felt both so far away and too close at the same time.

“Well maybe you shoulda knocked first!” Dedede yelled again.

You tried to sit up from where you landed when Meta Knight pushed the two of you down. Your arms were trembling. They don’t usually do that, right?

“Yeah, you shoulda knocked first!” Escargoon parroted Dedede.

Something crashed behind you, collateral from the projectile that just missed you. Your hands continued to tremble. Looking at them, you felt your breathing get even faster. Was there no oxygen in this air? Why did it feel like you weren’t getting air when you so clearly were breathing it in? Just thinking about it only made you breathe harder.

When Meta Knight finally took a look at you, he froze. His eyes lingered a moment on your trembling body, before his eyes flashed white. Without hesitation he dashed over towards you and took one of your hands.

“(Y/n), are you alright?”

You furiously shook your head. You thought about lying and saying yes, but you knew he would see right through you if you tried to pretend you were fine.

“Hey, Meta Knight, look at me when I’m talking to you!” Dedede shouted.

“Sire,” Meta Knight’s eyes flashed red as he side-eyed the king. Dedede took a step back, immediately looking apologetic. “I would greatly appreciate it if you would test your weapons away from the castle.”

“Of- of course Meta Knight!” Dedede stuttered.

“We wouldn’t want to cause any trouble,” Escargoon mimicked, equally intimidated by the knight’s piercing gaze.

Meta Knight’s glare lingered on them a second more, eyes returning to their normal yellow at their answer, before bringing his attention back to you.

“I’m going to move you out of here, (Y/n). Is that alright?”

Your body still shaking, you nodded. Your throat still felt too tight to give a proper answer.

With that, Meta Knight scooped you up and dashed from the room back down the hall. Your vision was too unfocused to tell, but Meta Knight was bringing you back towards the room he shared with Sword and Blade. A quick opening of the door, and he set you down on his bed.

Your breathing was still too fast, but the fact you were away from King Dedede and Escargoon’s shouts helped a bit. Everything still felt like too much all at once. But Meta Knight’s voice pulled you towards something to focus on.

“(Y/n), you’re having a panic attack right now. I know it’s scary, but it’s going to pass. I’ll be right here next to you the whole time.”

Okay, so, you were having a panic attack. Okay, cool, this is fine. This is-

A panic attack.

Your breathing slowed a little bit, but not much.

“(Y/n), I need you to try to slow down your breathing, okay? In,” Meta Knight drew a long breath in, “and out,” and let it out slowly.

You mimicked his breaths as he repeated the action and instructions with you. You felt your throat opening back up again, slowly. You were still shaky, though.

“Good, good, you’re doing great,” you could hear the smile in Meta Knight’s voice, despite his mask hiding his expression. You gave him a shaky smile in return.

“Is there anything you need, dear?”

“How long?” You croaked out, throat still a bit closed up.

“Typically about half an hour,” Meta Knight answered. Your eyes widened and your breathing quickened again, until he quickly added, “But the length of time can vary. Just, focus on your breathing. Finding something to focus on instead also helps come down from it. Like, uh.”

He glances towards the still open door for a moment. His eyes turn a green color. A moment of hesitation, then he places one hand in yours.

You squeeze it, finding some comfort in holding it. It felt like another thing to keep you grounded for the moment. You had expected that Meta Knight was just going to give you his hand to hold, but with another glance towards the door, he moved his other hand towards his helmet.

“Wait, you don’t,” you were cut off when you hear a click, and Meta Knight moves the mask away from his face.

Staring back at you, Meta Knight, unmasked, met your eyes. He looked how you imagined Kirby would (once Kirby had grown up a bit). Despite looking a little nervous, his voice held steady.

“It’s okay (Y/n), I trust you.”

You squeezed his hand again. Your breathing had slowed back to normal. Meta Knight showing his face had managed to completely distract you from your panic attack. Slowly, you moved a hand to touch his face. He let you.

You let out a soft giggle, and a genuine smile spread on your face. Meta Knight’s own face mirrored yours, his eyes turning a pink color. The hand not holding yours moved to cup your cheek.

“Your breathing has returned to normal, my dear.”

You chuckled, your throat still a bit closed up.

“Do the lights still feel too bright?” He asked.

You nodded, though they felt more tolerable than they had been.

“Here, you can block them out with this,” he unclipped his cape and wrapped it around your shoulders. You were still too shaken to blush, so you just smiled at him instead. He paused a moment, hands still on his cloak that was wrapped around you.

On instinct, you leaned forward and planted a small kiss to his lips. You felt his smile against your lips. When you pulled back, his eyes were a deep purple color, and his face held a prominent blush of his own. You, had you been feeling one hundred percent, would be fairing no better.

“Thank you for helping me through this, Meta Knight. I’m sorry I’m so much work to take care of,” you spoke softly.

He put his mask back on, and looked to meet your eyes again.

“Nonsense, my dear. I’m always happy to keep you safe. And you have no need to apologize for things you cannot control.”

The honesty in his voice sent butterflies to your stomach. Your smile grew further.

“You said to tell you if I needed anything?”

“Yes, I did, (Y/n),” he answered.

“Can you, er, would you lie here with me?” You ask, lying back.

He hums, laying down next to you.

“Of course.”

You covered the both of you with his cape, so you were both swept under a veil of darkness.

“Let me know when you don’t feel shaky anymore, alright?”

You hum in response.

“Walking after a panic attack can help it from coming back after it’s already happened.”

“Okay, Meta Knight,” You cuddle against him, wrapping your arms around him. He does the same to you.

A moment’s silence, and you hear him whisper.

“I love you.”

“I love you, too.”

On your walk later, you ask Meta Knight something you had been wondering about.

“Hey Meta Knight, why do you know so much about panic attacks, anyway?”

“It was part of basic medical training for Star Warriors,” he answers, holding your hand in his. “In battle, if a fellow warrior was having a panic attack, they would be no good for the fight. We had to learn how to get them to a safe place and calm them down. Though, in the heat of battle it was usually just the first part we focused on.”

“Have you ever had to use that training before today?” You asked.

He hesitated before he responded.

“In battle, I only used the first part of that training. After the war, I had to use what I’d learned to help someone come down from an attack.”

“Really? Who was it?” You ask, genuinely curious.

He hesitates again.

“Oh, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to,” you add.

“It was me.”

His answer caught you off guard.

“You had to bring yourself down from a panic attack? Alone?”

“Yes.”

You squeeze his hand, thinking for a moment. You step in front of him, stopping him in his tracks.

“Well, if it ever happens to you again, now I can help you calm down from one,” you flash him a bright smile. “Plus, since you guided me through mine, now I know how to help it go smoothly for you, too!”

He chuckles.

“Thank you, (Y/n), I appreciate that.”

“Of course!”

King Dedede x Reader - Headcanons

SFW Headcanons:

King Dedede would be the best cuddler out there... if he didn't move around so much in his sleep. He does stop moving after a while, but it can get annoying when you're especially tired and want to snuggle.

On a busy day, you'll help King Dedede comb through his luscious feathers, which does take a while despite your quick motions. It was so incredibly thick that you could sink your entire fist into his feathers and still not touch his skin.

King Dedede is usually openly affectionate, but does get mildly flustered whenever he realizes that people see him kissing you.

He was a complete wreck when he was possessed for the first time. You thankfully hadn't gotten hurt, but he was terrified that something similar would happen again, and you would get hurt. It took nearly a month to calm down his worries.

Before sex, King Dedede usually likes to create a small nest with pillows and blankets on the bed you and him share. As soon as he finishes, he'll drag you over (lovingly) and get you naked.

Having sex in the nest is nice due to all the comfortable pillows and warm blankets he has. Though, combined with the fact that your lover is a large fluffy penguin, it does get a little too hot when you're in the middle of sex. Thankfully, he placed a few fans in his room after you told him as such.

I assume you're asking in according to this fic? If so, that scenario you described would make King Dedede very jealous, and he might have a mild vendetta against him. King Dedede likely will go out of his way to punish that specific Cappy, because nobody but the King should make you laugh and smile! And, like you said, because of that incident he'll invite you to the castle immediately so others can't steal you away. He likely would be jealous if he caught you and Escargoon talking without him there, but probably will only give the snail a weaker punishment, such as adding more chores or duties to what he already has.

Reading Event!

I didn't quite get too many responses in the poll I sent out a while ago, so for Christmas, I decided to do something a little different!

I've gotten a new mic for Christmas, and I've been wanting to try it out. So please, send me a small fic for me to read! It can be my own works, or it can be yours! It can even be someone else's fic, but if that's the case, please make sure to get the author's permission before anything else!

For this event, there's only a few rules/things to note;

Pick out a fic between 100 through 4,000 words. It's alright if it's a little over the limit, but nothing too high (ex: 7,000 words). My voice wears out quickly, so I won't be able to read a single fic for long.

Please send only one fic! I wish I could read 'em all lol.

If you want me to read another author's work that isn't your own, get the author's permission first.

Escargoon x Reader - Regalia

You stared at the piece of paper on the desk in front of you, twirling the pencil around in thought. After a while, you sighed. "I don't know what I want to be for Halloween."

"You don't know what to be?" Escargoon peered over your shoulder, causing you to immediately blush.

“Escargoon!” You sat up straighter, clearing your throat shortly after. “I�� didn’t hear you come in…” 

Usually, he’d knock on your room to let you know that it was him instead of anyone else in the castle, but you must’ve not heard him, too deep in thought in the moment…

Escargoon chuckled, his slimy body wriggling in amusement. "I noticed…” He studied the paper you had been writing on. “So, you’re struggling with… costume ideas?”

"...Yeah, it seems so. I just can't decide on a costume this year…”

Escargoon tapped a finger against his chin, deep in thought... "Well, you could always go for something classic, like a ghost or a vampire. They never go out of style."

“You really could imagine me as a ghost?” You seemed amused. “Or as a vampire?”

“Sure! I think ya could pull it off.” 

“Ah-huh…” You looked back at the list of costumes on the paper. “I dunno… What did you come in here for, anyways?”

“What, I can’t come in here to see my favorite person?” He… then sighed. “But uhm. I was… unsure what costume to wear too.”

You raised an eyebrow in surprise. "You too, Escargoon? I didn't expect that."

He shifted uncomfortably, a hint of pink coloring his cheeks. "Well, yeah. It's not like I go around wearing costumes every day, you know, nor do I celebrate Halloween often.”

“Why are you celebrating this year, then?” You tilted your head curiously.

“King Dedede wants us all to dress up,” he grumbled, folding his arms. “I think it’s silly to dress up… for most people!” He added quickly, realizing that you often celebrated Halloween.

You couldn’t help but laugh. “If you say so…” You took a moment to think– before quickly coming up with an idea. “You know,” you began, “we can dress up as something together.”

“Like a couples costume?”

“Yeah, like a… a…” You blushed a little. Things were a little uncertain between you and him, a little unofficial, so the term couples caught you off guard. “L-Like a couples costumes.”

Escargoon hummed thoughtfully, not bothered by the term at all. “What should we go as?”

“...Good question.” You slowly pouted. After a moment, you glanced around the room, trying to grate some sort of inspiration. Though, in the end, you came up blank. “I dunno…”

He sighed dramatically. “Seems like we’ll need some assistance…”

“And who would we get assistance from?” You smiled weakly. 

Turns out, that would be the first person you and him would come across in the castle halls– Meta Knight. He gave you both an inquisitive look, looking at you two like you were the biggest morons. 

“And… you can’t settle on a costume idea?”

Escargoon groaned. “No, we can’t.”

Meta Knight couldn't help but hide a small smile. "Well, it's fortunate that you've come to me for advice. I've had my share of experience with costumes."

“You? Costumes?” You gave him a long look, glancing at Escargoon– who seemed just as surprised.

Meta Knight nodded slowly. "Considering your dynamic, I believe a theme that reflects teamwork and camaraderie would be appropriate. How about knights in shining armor?"

“...Knights?” Escargoon snorted.

You slowly lowered your bottom lip into a pout before actually considering it. “Well… it isn’t too bad of an idea. One of us could be the knight, and one of us could be a princess.”

“Why can’t we both be knights?”

“Because it wouldn’t be a couples costume if we were both the same thing!” You gave him a playful smile. “Besides, I’d like to see you in a dress.”

“You want me to be the princess?!”

Meta Knight looked between you and Escargoon, rolling his eyes. “Hope you two come to a decision,” he said, his cape flapping to the invisible wind as he took his que to leave. 

You watched him turn the corner before turning back towards Escargoon with a smirk. “Yes, I think you should be the princess.”

“Why can’t you be the princess?” He whined, his shoulders sinking. “I don’t want to wear a dress…”

“C’mon, you’ll be cute!” You put on your best set of puppy eyes. “Please…?”

He gave you a long look, inspecting your expression closely. After a solid ten seconds, he groaned loudly. “Fine, fine… I’ll be the stupid princess.”

You made a cheerful noise. “We should get started on finding our costumes,” you said… before pouting. “I’m not entirely sure where I’m supposed to find a set of armor that’ll fit me.”

“Looks like your shining armor is gunna be shining spray-painted cardboard,” he joked, slithering back towards your room and expecting you to follow.

You trailed behind him, staring at the floor and thinking… “What color dress should you wear?”

“I.” He grunted, heat rising to his cheeks. “I don’t know… What color seems the most flattering on me? As you can tell, I don’t wear clothes often.”

You hummed, looking him up and down. “Maybe red?”

“Red?” He scrunched up his face. “That’s such a bold color! I don’t think I can pull off red.”

“I think you can pull off any color you’d like,” you teased, causing him to groan once more.

“You’re lucky I’m willing to put on a dress for you,” he grumbled, keeping his arms crossed and moving a bit faster. 

You chuckled, appreciating his willingness to go along with the idea. "You'll look absolutely stunning, Escargoon, no matter what color you choose."

“...Ya really think so?”

You gave a firm nod. “Of course!”

He seemed to soften at your words. Conversation flowed smoothly after that, bouncing between other topics than costumes. Once you were back at your room, you began planning out costume designs with him and where you were going to find the materials. Though, all in all, you were just glad to be spending time with Escargoon.

King Dedede: -Dedede isn't great at comforting others, he tries his hardest though and that's what really counts!

-He lets you vent to him while he holds you, rubbing your back as you nuzzle into his feathery chest.

-The Waddle Dees bring you your favorite drink and a snack to help you feel better.

-King Dedede will continue to check up on you after you calm down just to make sure you're alright. He will check on you for the next week. Maybe even longer.

-The Waddle Dees also won't leave you alone and will make sure you are safe and happy. You will wake up in a pile of Dees.

Meta Knight: -To say Meta Knight sucks at comforting others is an understatement. He is a knight first and foremost and a person second, if he cannot fight whatever has caused you pain he's absolutely hopeless.

-He still tries though, he holds you against him protectively and wraps his wings around you. He assures you that everything will be alright and that he will stab whatever is causing you problems.

-He leaves you little gifts throughout the rest of the day and the week, just to let you know he's thinking of you. He also tells the Meta Knights to check on you as well.

-He has Sailor Dee bring you your favorite snacks when he is too busy.

-Dude is helpless when it comes to things he cannot physically fight, but he does genuinely love you and want you to be safe, happy, and healthy.
