When the real baby comes
King Caspian X You
Summary: When King Caspian's wife is missing one morning, Caspian sets out to track her down after hearing some surprising news. (Post the Dawn Treader)
Warnings: None! Quite fluffy!
I couldn't have jumped fictional men more than going from Mark Hoffman to Caspian, but here we are far down the rabbit hole of one of my old childhood crushes. I've never written anything for Caspian so it was time to do him justice. Plus KING Caspian just does something to me. There is soooo much potential for him!
Caspian always missed his Queen’s warmth whenever she chose to wake before him. Rolling onto his back, the left side of the bed was cold, the pillow still at a diagonal from where the Queen had slept. His hand runs over the sheet as his mind wanders to just what could have lulled his wife from Caspian’s arms. Most likely an early morning ride, but you could do that any day. Perhaps you’d gone to make breakfast as you were sometimes inclined to do. Maybe you’ll come striding in with a picnic basket, ready to invite Caspian out to the shores of Cair Paravel.
It is a Sunday after all, the one day you and Caspian always dedicate to each other. It would be nice to spend one of the last days of Autumn on the beach before it gets too cold to enjoy it.
Caspian lets the daydreams linger as he fully comes round for the day. There is still no sign of you, and so Caspian pulls back the duvet, pushes back his hair and attempts to face the day. At lease Sundays mean no holding court and there are no diplomatic guests to host this week. It’s a rare day that is entirely Caspian’s own and he intends to spend it with his wife.
There is a note left on the bedside table, that’s more like his Queen. Caspian reads it with one hand while he pulls out a dark shirt and matching pants to wear for the day.
You’ve gone out with the wolves, again? That makes it seven times in one month, which is generally excessive. What would be so important that you couldn’t wait to tell him in person?
Shrugging on boots and an overcoat, Caspian sticks his head out of the Royal Quarters, “Trufflehunter?” There’s a small cough from an armchair a short way down the corridor, near the stairs. “I know you’re there.” Caspian stands in the doorway, hands resting on his hips.
“My King,” The badger comes shuffling to greet him, dropping his head in a show of respect, “Good Morning.”
“I hope it will be,” Caspian glances behind the badger, but no one else is with him, “The Queen left me a note saying she’s out with the wolves. I know that means you’ve seen her today.”
The badger appears to be acting sheepish, “Well…yes.” He says, “You know how the Queen is, my King. There is no persuading her to wait when her mind is set on something.”
“Did she tell you what is so important that she’s out with the pack again?”
“She said she was getting in some training with the youngest cub.” Trufflehunter is fiddling with his fingers, “After all, no one has a way with the wolves like Her Majesty does.”
Caspian hand comes to rub at his face, “Yes she has mentioned that, but why does she not wish for me to join her? Don’t think I haven’t noticed she likes to go out when I’m preoccupied, or having a rest.”
“I’m certain you do so much for Narnia, that rearing wolf cubs is the last of your priorities.”
Caspian can’t quite fight back his sigh as he sags against the doorframe, “Alright time to come clean, old friend.”
The badger sputters at once, “Your Majesty?”
“What is she hiding?”
“Nothing!” But on a stern look from Caspian the badger crumbles, “If I am entirely honest with you, I don’t quite know.” Trufflehunter’s nose droops in the direction of the carpeted floor, “Her Majesty has been acting suspicious as of late. Last night Trumpkin found her ensuring her tack was prepared, most likely for today’s excursion.”
“She’s taken Tempest?” Caspain’s alarm begins to rise, “Why are they going so far as to need her horse?”
“Wolves run fast?”
Caspian’s had enough, if Trufflehunter will only give him half-answers then Caspian will go to his next source. The badger hurries after him as Caspian takes long strides towards the breakfast room. Seated at the long table, Trumpkin the Dwarf drops his toast on his beard on seeing the King’s expression, “I told her to wait for you!”
“What is she up to?” Caspian doesn’t bother with a greeting, he and Trumpkin go too far back to bother with niceties.
“You know what’s she’s like with those bloody wolves.” Trumpkin resumes buttering his toast, “Obsessed with them. I know how much she did to make the Narnians accept the wolves again after the White Witch, but they got on fine before she started hand rearing them herself. Wild animals, aren’t they, even if they do talk.”
“There’s more to this than either of you are letting on.” Caspian deduces, catching the look Trumpkin sends Trufflehunter between Caspian’s legs. He takes a measured breath, aware of the other Narnians present at the breakfast table, including Lord Bern. “My Apologies,” Caspian offers.
“A runaway Queen, dear Aslan my boy.” Lord Bern shakes his head, “Could it be something you have said or done?” Caspian thinks back, “No…I don’t think so?”
Had he, was his Queen off galavanting with her wolves because of him?
“No,” Trumpkin is quick to interject, “No, no nothing like that! She just said that she wants to practise with the littlest cub, so that she’s ready for when the real baby comes.”
Silence falls as Trumpkin’s eyes widen. His hand slaps over his mouth as Caspian’s adrenaline surges into overdrive. He looks back to Trufflehunter to find the badger too is glowering at the dwarf, “Well done.” The badger rolls his eyes, “A fine way to tell him.”
Lord Bern rises from his seat, “My King…”
Caspian’s body feels like lead, his feet trip over one another as he tears out of the breakfast hall, “Excuse me, Lord Bern!” He shouts, breaking into a run. Caspian knows he must look a stare, running through the halls of his castle, out onto the grounds and practically slamming open the stable doors.
Destrier lifted his head lazily, “What’s got you so upset?” The horse asks, watching as Caspian seizes the nearest saddle.
“We need to find the Queen.” Caspian’s voice is the one he uses when leading into battle. It’s a tone Destrier picks up on straight away, as the horse doesn’t complain when Caspian fixes his bridle in place and swiftly mounts him.
“Which way?” Destrier asks and Caspian pauses, stricken for a moment. Would you go North to Owlwood, or South near the Rush River?
If you were training a wolf cub, Caspian is certain you would want to end up near the Dancing Lawn, or perhaps pay your respects at the Stone Table? He sets off heading South and vows to ride until he finds you.
Once they are out of Cair Paravel and the surrounding villages, Destrier wrinkles his nose, “I smell wolves.” He calls, “We’re on the right track.”
“Good,” Caspian calls, pushing Destrier into a full gallop. “I hope you’re ready for quite the ride, my friend. My wife doesn’t exactly keep near the castle.”
“She’s as bad as you!” Destrier returns.
Over an hour into their ride, Caspian hasn’t seen any sight of you. Destrier continues to follows the wolves air scent, which is good enough for now. Caspian’s kept busy by the whirlwind of thoughts rattling through him. Finally, when they are almost at the Dancing Lawn, Destrier whinnies. A wolf is padding along through the grass, unable to camouflage itself amongst the crunchy Autumnal leaves. As Caspian’s eyes peer through the trees, more wolves come into sight till finally Caspian spies Tempest, your blindingly white horse walking dutifully by your side.
You’ve heard Caspian’s noisy arrival, as he slows Destrier to a stop beside you, “Caspian?” His name leaves your lips as he swings a leg off Destrier and drops onto the ground, “What on Earth are you doing following me?”
“Is it true?” He’s panting so hard he can barely get the words out. You come to a stop, one hand wrapped around a golden lead. On the other end is a snow white wolf cub, barely twelve weeks old.
“Is what true?” You ask, bewildered at the sudden appearance of your winded, sweaty husband.
Caspian glances at the wolves, who have started to inch closer to their friend. Caspian knows they would never hurt him, not since becoming friends of Narnia, but it’s still disconcerting to have your entire pack’s eyes on him. He takes you gently by the arm, “Are you pregnant?”
Caspian’s question sends a ripple through the animals. The wolf closest to the cub, one Caspian knows as Dara comes to stand by her cub on instinct, while your horse, Tempest inhales loudly beside you. Caspian cares for no one’s reaction but your own. Your mouth falls open softly, “Who told you that?”
“Trumpkin said you were out here practising.” Caspian takes your hands in his own, the cub’s lead dropping amongst the leaves. “You must know you don’t have to run from me, or feel like you can’t tell me.”
“Caspian,” You begin, but Caspian has to get it out.
“I know we haven’t spoken about it much, but I would be more joyful than-”
“Caspian.” You say laying a hand on your husbands chest. Your firm tone combined with your touch is enough to settle Caspian just to hear your answer.
Your eyes soften further, sympathy shining through as your hand runs up his chest to cup his cheek. He doesn’t expect the plummet his heart takes as Caspian can read the answer on your face, “I’m not pregnant.” You murmur, thumb stroking his stubbled cheek.
He maintains the eye contact and you don’t break it, “You’re certain?”
“We would smell if the Queen was with child.” Dara says, nosing at her own cub. “She would smell stronger.”
Your other hand takes Caspian’s own and lead him away from the pack, behind a large Hickory tree, “You came riding all this way, because you thought I was pregnant?”
“You have been out with the wolves often, I have noticed.” Caspian insists, clutching to his reasoning which seems wild now he thinks on it. “Trumpkin said you were practising for when the real baby comes.”
“Ah,” You bite the inside of your cheek, “I can see where he became confused.” You say, your tone still annoying gentle. “I am out working with the wolves, but not because I’m expecting. If I was with child Caspian, I promise you that you would be the first to know. I wouldn’t leave you clueless.”
Caspian swallows, working through the information, “Trufflehunter also seems to believe you are.”
“Those two spend most of their mornings gossiping together.” You roll your eyes, pushing some of Caspian’s unruly hair out of his eyes, “You should hear what they say about the Dryads.”
Caspian allows you to gently fuss over him. Your touch never fails to calm him as his arms wrap around your waist and his nose buries into your neck. You hold him tight and Caspian tries to push down the swell of loss he feels. You pick up on it anyway, placing a kiss to his lips, “You are the best husband I could ever ask for.” You assure him, “You rode like a madman to come track me down.”
“I had to know.” Caspian says, “I was ready to tell you off for riding.”
“Oh don’t start.” You push him away lightly, “You’d better not become a helicopter father or I’ll start getting truly sneaky.”
He catches your hand in his and pulls you back into his arms, “I’m sorry for startling you.” Caspian murmurs, “You must have thought something had happened.”
“For one horrible moment.” You nod, letting your fingers play with his hair. Caspian’s eyes slip shut, taking in your body and your warmth once again. Around him nature calls with life, the wolves padding impatiently on the ground, the rustle of leaves in the wind and the playful whispers of the trees.
“Hang on,” Caspian pulls back enough to see your face, “So if it wasn’t us, what’s the ‘real thing’ you’re practising for?”
You glance from your husband to Dara. The wolf mother nods, her cub’s lead now between her teeth. You walk over and take the offered lead back into your hand, the white wolf cub bounding along beside you as you begin to walk again. “You know I have a bit of a habit for rearing what some would call dangerous animals.”
Caspian falls into step with you, “A bit?” He jokes, “Between wolves, marsh-wiggles and sprites. If it hadn’t been trying to kill us, I’m sure you’d have jumped off the Dawn Treader and tried to befriend that Sea Serpent.”
You wrinkle your nose and with a gesture of your hand, the wolves reform their hunting formations, spreading out across the woods, “Well I might have found something that may just beat out a sea serpent.”
You lead the way for another fifteen minutes or so in the direction of Aslan’s How. A route Caspian has become less familiar with than years ago, nostalgia fills him as you tread across the open field towards the great tomb. The land still bears the odd mark of battle, craters where Caspian’s grand ambush plan had succeeded litter the once flat field and tree roots wind across some of the gaps, forming bridges one with good balance could walk across. Caspian expects you to stop near the entrance, “What are we doing here?” Caspian didn’t even know you knew of the How, never mind what this place had meant for Caspian. Sanctuary, security, victory. You hadn’t been present in Narnia when Caspian made his stand against his Uncle Miraz. Back then you had been nothing more than a legend, imprinted on the walls of the how.
The How is continually lit by torchlight, a feat no one quite knows how or why. Caspian assumes old magic, the presence of the Great Lion himself still within the walls of such a sacred place. You venture into the narrow corridors, but you don’t head towards the Stone Table, instead you veer right. “I wanted to keep it somewhere warm, but protected.” You turn to Caspian, “You can feel the magic in the air here. Aslan still watches over.”
“Not as much as you.” For Caspian never felt as in tune with the Great Lion as his wife did. His fingers run past a mural of the Kings and Queens of Old, past a more recent mural Caspian never remembers seeing before. A White Knight faces down the White Witch’s wand. Caspian’s stomach flips as he catches the familiar hair which streams from the figure’s helmet. “It’s you,” He murmurs. “The first time you were in Narnia.”
“And the second,” You point to another mural, there you are again dressed in your signature white battle armour. This time on a parapet of the old Cair Paravel, a horn raised in one hand against the army of Trechebuchets Caspian’s ancestors had used to destroy the castle during their invasion. You don’t pay it much heed, instead you keep pressing deeper into the tomb. “I do wonder when another will show. There’s much the walls could document from our adventures at sea.”
As you come to a stop, Caspian realises the wolves haven’t followed you both inside the tomb. It’s just the King and his Queen.
He peers over your shoulder as you kneel down before a nest of hay. He watches your hands disappear and remove an egg from the hidden hay pile. “What is that?” He breathes.
“I’m not entirely sure,” You admit, “But based on the scales and size, I have a good guess.”
Caspian stares at the egg you hold out for him. It’s the largest he has ever seen, not that Caspian has seen many eggs larger than a chickens in his lifetime. His eyes flick to yours and that sickening feeling is back, “It can’t be.”
Your eyes are dancing with excitement, “I think so.”
“No,” Caspian takes a step back, “They…The mother would never leave it.”
“I saw her.” You say, “You know there’s been more and more poachers as of late. Calormens stepping onto our lands, wanting to harvest the creatures magical properties. I saw her fly off, if she wasn’t being persecuted then she would never have left her egg.”
Caspian’s mouth drops open, “Is that what you’ve been doing?” He asks, “You’ve been out looking for a dragon?”
“That’s why I took the wolves.” You say it so simply, so easily. “They’ve been helping me track her. We think she’s near Underland.”
Caspian takes your face between his hands, “What do you plan to do when it hatches?”
You answer is evident, “Only until we can reunite the baby with it’s mother.”
“The dragon books in the library.” Caspian pinches the bridge of his nose, “I thought you were just interested in the legends. That’s all I thought they were, legends.”
“You saw Eustace as a dragon, did you not?” Sarcams fills you voice, “You know as well as I do that dragons are very much real and exist in Narnia.”
“Then why haven’t we seen them?”
You don’t have much of an answer, “Look what’s happened to the first one we have.” You say, “Hunted for her scales and goodness know what else.”
It’s your turn again to assuage your spouse. You place the egg carefully back amongst the hay pile and cover it up again, “Do you trust me?”
“You know I do.”
“Then you have to know that I won’t let this go.”
Caspian rolls his head back in a slow circle, “No, you won’t.” He meets your eyes and barely holds back his own smile at your excitement. “But we are finding the mother and you are giving that egg to her as soon as possible.”
You nod, happy now you’ve got your way. “I’ll gladly welcome the help dispatching the poacher groups along the way too.”
“You will be the death of me.” Caspian grumbles, as you wind your arms around his waist and place a kiss to his cheek. “If I didn’t admire your heart so much, I’d leave you here in the woods where you belong.”
“You made me your Queen,” You almost sing, “You can’t get rid of me now.” You wind your arms back around Caspian’s neck, “And who’s to say that once we’ve reunited baby and mother dragon, we can’t get to work on our own baby?”

Summary: Where Caspian help her understand her needs.
Journey on the Dawn Treader was something she dreamed about, and Caspian was more than happy to make it happen. Not long before their wedding, he decided to show her The Lone Islands. She loved every minute on the ship, and the crew was very kind. What she hadn’t expected were all the feelings that Caspian awoke in her. It started with small gestures - he always tried to bring her a snack or drink that she liked. She began to notice every gentle touch - on her hands or the small of her back when he helped to keep her steady. But what happened in the morning left her extremely confused.
One morning they watched the sunrise, and Caspian wrapped his arms around her, allowing her to rest against his chest. He gently caressed her arms to make her warmer. He whispered sea stories straight to her ear, and his hot breath leaned against the skin on her neck. She felt gooseflesh on her skin and the heat coming to her cheeks. Her heartbeat was so fast and loud that she only hoped he didn’t feel or hear that. But what was the strangest was feeling inside her belly and even lower. She felt that heat in her intimate parts, and embarrassment took over her. She didn’t know what was happening to her body, and her mind was occupied by him. She wanted him to hold her, to touch her, but it all seemed to be wrong. Flushed, she quickly tried to compose herself and tried to find an excuse to leave. She saw the confusion on his face, but he didn’t say a word. She tried to hide as much as she could the whole day - she would say she was needed somewhere. But it was too hard to do in such a limited space. Too soon for her, he knocked on the door of her cabin. She opened the door and bit her lower lip at the sight of him, especially at the worried look on his face. She moved gently to allow him to come into the room.
“How do you feel?” He watched her closely, standing with his hands behind his back.
“I’m… I am alright, Caspian.” She tried to smile, knowing he didn’t believe her words.
“I was worried about you… You seemed so distant… I… Did I do something wrong?”
“What? No, Caspian. Of course, you didn’t do anything wrong.” She came closer and touched his elbow, making him move his hands to gently touch her arms. She looked down at it, and the heat came to her cheeks. “I… Oh, it’s so embarrassing!” She moved to her bed, sitting down and hiding her face in her hands. She heard him moving closer and bending before her. “I shouldn’t be thinking about it, let alone talking about it.” She whispered, and he was even more confused.
“Love, what’s going on in your pretty head?” His hand brushed her knee, and she looked at him. In that second, she felt like she could drown in his eyes, and a sense of security came into her heart. “You can tell me everything.”
“I’m not sure how to describe it. Every time… every time you are close to me, my heart starts beating like it wants to jump from my chest. Even the smallest touch made my skin burn in such a delicious way. It made me shiver to my bones. It made my belly feel like thousands of butterflies had a battle there, and the worst thing is… That it all made me want more.” She ended with a whisper, feeling tears coming to her eyes. She felt the heat warming her cheeks and was afraid to look up at Caspian. She felt him taking her face into his hands, and then what surprised her, she saw him smiling. He quickly kissed her forehead, caressing her cheeks with his thumbs.
“It’s completely all right, love. It’s nothing wrong.” His thumb gently whipped that one tear.
“It’s not?” She looked up with hope, and he only smiled wider.
“No, my dear. I believe that it’s completely normal. It’s how your body lets you know it’s attracted to me. And... I must say that I feel the same way as you. I won’t even count how many times I needed cold baths.” He chuckled, looking down for a few seconds. “It’s natural to feel that. Intimacy is not only about the conception of a child. It’s also about pleasure.”
“Could you… Could you show me? I know that we are not married yet. But I trust you. And I know that we would not change our plans for it.”
“There is no power in any world that would make me not want to marry you. And it’s not even two weeks before it will happen, right?” She finally smiled, even if her shyness didn’t go away.
“That’s right.” She put her hand over his and squeezed it. “So, will you show me how to change this lust into pleasure?” Caspian felt his own arousal grow stronger at her words, and it took everything from him to not take her at that moment.
“I will do everything in my power to do it.” He gently changed his position to sit next to her, looking directly into her eyes. “But you need to promise me something. You will tell me if something will make you uncomfortable if you don’t like something. It’s about you, and I need to know that you will feel good.”
“I promise, Cas. I will tell you.” Her words were full of trust and innocence, and he couldn’t stop himself any longer. He leaned down and connected their lips, kissing her deeper and stronger than ever. He heard her soft gasp of shock, but her body went closer to his, and her hand tangled in his hair. He felt how her body melted against his when his fingers started to trace her soft curves. His lips were leaving wet kisses down her throat, making her suck on air. He saw her breasts, squeezed by a corset, rising heavily with her every breath. Caspian looked into her eyes when one of his hands touched the lace of her corset.
“Can I?” She nodded, and he helped her to stand up. She turned around, and he slowly started to untie the laces, placing small kisses on every new part of her body he saw. When she turned again to look at his face, he saw her pupils were dilated. She took her hand, which held the dress against her chest and allowed it to fall around her feet.
“Caspian, may I… undress you?” He smiled widely at her.
“You may do whatever you want, love.” She smiled and moved closer to him, pressing her lips against his, reaching to his belt. She carefully undid it and held the shirt. They parted, and with his help, she took it off him. She stopped her hand from touching his bare chest, but he took it and placed it on his skin with an encouraging smile. She could feel his strong heartbeat under her fingers. Her touch was like the touch of a feather when she tried to learn his body. She shivered when she pressed a small kiss above his heart and stopped her hand on his trousers. At his nod, with shaking hands, she untied it. They fell on the floor, and he watched her face when she took a look over his whole body. He noticed a shade of fear on her face.
“Dove, is everything all right?” He gently took her face in his hands and made her look at him.
“I… Will it hurt?” He caressed her cheeks.
“It might be a little painful. But I will try to prepare you, so it shouldn’t be bad. If you have changed your mind, it’s alright. We don’t need to do anything.”
“I want it. I really do. I didn’t expect it to be so big.” She whispered, and he couldn’t stop his chuckles. “Don’t laugh at me, Caspian. You better help me with my chemise.” She smiled widely, but in her eyes, he still noticed her shyness. He kissed her deeply, but his hands ghosted over her body. In a few movements, she stood naked before him. Before he looked down, he stole a few more kisses, trying to make her relax a little more.
“Oh my… Dove, you are so beautiful. Magnificent.” With one look at her face, he moved his hand over her side, watching gooseflesh rising under his fingers. The heat flashed on her face, and he kissed her shortly once more. “Let’s move to the bed, alright?”
Caspian helped her lay down and took place beside her. She was hungry for his kisses, and it was starvation he happily wanted to satisfy. His hand gently massages her body - through her breasts, tummy to her hips. He observed her reactions and told her what his next step would be. With satisfaction rising in his chest, he saw she tried to press her body closer to him. After his hands, there came his lips. The soft moans and breaths left her mouth when he kissed her neckline and breasts. She gasped when he finally touched that sweet point between her legs, slowly massaging it. She bit her lips at the newfound pleasure that blossomed in her abdomen. He tried to distract her as much as he could when he carefully started preparing her with his finger, adding one more after a few moments. She was everything he could think about - her gasps, moans, how breath caught in her chest. He loved how she squeezed her hands against the bedsheet and his arms, how her body mindlessly wanted to be close to him, and how she clenched against his fingers. However, his favourite thing was watching her falling apart under him when she reached her climax. He kissed her neck, letting her catch her breath, and he couldn’t stop smiling when he heard her mumbling his name.
“I’ve got you, love. I’m here.” Caspian whispered lovingly, kissing her face when she came down. “Do you think you are ready for more, love? You still want it?”
“Yes. I want it all, Caspian. Please.” He was painfully ready for her, so he moved between her tights, helping her to open for him. Once again, he distracted her with kisses when he took his member in hand and collected her wetness with it. And then, ever so slowly, he slid it over her folds, stopping immediately at her soft cry. He whispered sweet nothings, kissing everywhere he could only reach, making her focus on anything but discomfort. He buried himself fully inside her and let her get used to this stretching. At her request, he started moving into her, talking her through the act. With his compliments, he made her giggle. He praised her and worshipped her. He made her feel comfortable and loved. He pulled out his member from her warm centre and finished with a groan on her belly. She felt his muscles convulsing under her fingers, so she gently massaged his scalp, holding him close with another hand. When he finally looked at her, she was smiling widely and truly. She touched his cheek and brushed away some of his hair that fell down. They breathed heavily from their activities, but relaxation was sneaking into their bodies. She couldn’t stop smiling, and she kissed him lovingly.
“Will we do it again, please? Maybe not now, but when we rest a little?” He chuckled, kissing her again.
“Whenever you want, how much you want, love.” He kissed the top of her nose, and she smiled.
“Wonderful!” She bit her lip, gently caressing his cheek.
“Now let me clean you up a little, and then we can take a nap if you want.”
“I would love to.” He smiled at her and kissed her, making her breathless again. She couldn’t stop her giggles watching him stand up and come to the vanity table, where he poured water into a bowl and wet a towel. He came to her again and started cleaning her out, minding her sensitive body. It probably became one of the most treasured moments of his life for him - seeing her with flushed cheeks, trying to hide a smirk behind her hand. To be able to see that look in her eyes for the rest of his life, he could kill, but now he made sure that she was comfortable and she knew how much he loved her.

Hi lovelies! Here is a new chapter for my Caspian series!
I hope you like this new chapter! Let me know what you think!

But as you discover the magic of Narnia, you soon realise that this extraordinary world is as dangerous as it is magnificent. Will your love for Caspian be enough to defeat your new enemies?
Word Count: 2864
Masterlist for the series – Caspian’s Masterlist – Main Masterlist
Lord Baras, Lord Luis and Lady Dalia were to travel in the same carriage as you and Caspian. The three men were sitting next to each other, while you and Dalia sat on the opposite side. Outside of the carriage, the royal guard was in charge of your safety, both Ammos and Diego guiding the carriage themselves. It didn’t stop Caspian from wearing his sword and dagger.
It was a long trip to Cair Paravel, almost a week of journey, but you didn’t mind. It felt nice to walk out of the fortress, to look by the window at the colourful trees swinging gently in the sun and wind, to let your gaze graze over the fallen skeleton leaves. And even if Caspian and you were not alone, it was enough to be able to catch his gaze with yours whenever you wanted. To see his cheeks redden ever so slightly, the ghost of a smile turn the corners of his lips upwards, his long hair let loose falling over his eyes…
Yes… yes this sight was enough…
The conversation quickly drifted towards politics, and if you tried to follow for a long while, you couldn’t help but be reminded that you were not ready to deal with such complex issues. Instead, you picked up a book Doctor Cornelius gave you to learn about Narnian history and geography, and started studying. You didn’t notice Caspian’s fond smile at the sight of your focused frown, of your lips silently moving along the words you tried to memorize. The rest of the passengers in the carriage did notice though, even if they said nothing about it.
The weather was on your side for your journey eastward. The sun was high and warm despite the coming of winter, the wind gentle in its breezes. You would have enjoyed walking across the forests you passed through, you would have enjoyed listening to the crunching noise of broken leaves, the vivid smell of earth, the laziness of painting orange leaves…
Instead, your head was aching, you guessed it was because of your efforts to memorize the names of these bloody princes and princesses, the sound of conversations you were trying to ignore and the rhythmic creaking of the carriage. You rubbed your temples in an attempt to soothe the pain, but the words were mixed on the page when you tried to focus again. Instead, you lost yourself in your own thoughts, looking by the window.
The light was too vivid as you passed through a valley, along the shores of a steady river. A wooden bridge allowed safe passage a few miles ahead, the area was like a long clearing crossed by a dusty road, with barely any tree, instead a field of lush grass and wildflowers. High hills, or perhaps short mountains, framed the valley, but did little to stop the warm sun. Your headache got worse under such bright lights, and despite the beauty of the scenery, you closed your eyes.
You had been travelling for almost five hours now without any real break, and all in the carriage must have thought that you had fallen asleep, as they started to talk in quieter tones. And you did doze off for a while, until you caught your name being spoken by Lord Baras.
“Lady Y/N seemed tired today, I hope the trip will not be too tiresome to her.”
You were about to open your eyes again to show everyone you were awake, when Caspian answered.
“Yes, these past few weeks have been difficult. But we will be both safer and more comfortable in Cair Paravel, it is worth the tiredness of the journey.”
“I have not talked many times with Lady Y/N, but she seemed… surprising.”
Caspian let out a chuckle.
“She most definitely is full of surprises, indeed.”
You could have opened your eyes and stopped the conversation, but you were too curious for that. Perhaps it was a little childish of you, to fake sleep when you could hear every word spoken. But then again, you wanted to know what the lords and Dalia thought of you. At the very least, the extent of their feelings they were ready to disclose to their king.
“I do hope that she will find the palace to her liking,” Luis said, his tone unreadable.
“Who would not?” replied Dalia.
“How are your studies with lady Y/N going?”
You guessed that the question was aimed at Dalia, although she took a moment before answering.
“Lady Y/N is a slow learner. But she does make a lot of effort.”
You were surprised by the rather positive feedback on your disastrous sessions with her…
That terrible book was still falling from your head after a few steps, after all.
“Many are still very much worried about how competent the lady will be as our Queen, as she was not raised in Narnia.”
“History has proven that our greatest leaders came from her world,” Baras argued, and you were surprised by him choosing your side.
“Of course, of course,” Luis answered with an audible nod.
“She is not alone in this task. She will not be alone to rule,” Caspian added. “She will be more than fine, I am sure of it.”
“Of course, you know her better than any of us,” Baras added. “We should trust your judgement.”
“Indeed, you should.”
“Many are still hesitant, though.”
“Many do not know what lady Y/N is capable of.”
“Echoes from Reepicheep’s lessons show that she will be of no use on a battlefield, that is for certain,” Dalia answered in a wry tone that matched better her feelings towards you, but Caspian laughed, you were surprised by the unexpected sound.
“I did not mean it in a threatening way. Y/N is… kind. And she is more than strong enough to stand her ground, if need be. She will be a just and gentle queen, once she has learned her ways.”
“Rumours are spreading more and more about the circumstances under which the two of you have met,” Luis said. “And some of the rumours are… bothersome, to say the least.”
“Oh, I am certain that some theories are as laughable as they are imaginative.”
Even if Caspian’s tone was still pleasant, his voice had tightened as well.
“Some say that you were kidnapped and forced into her world…”
“Well, I can assure you that I went there guided by my own recklessness and stupidity…”
“Some also say that your attachment to lady Y/N was called by a spell.”
“Magic does not exist in her world. At least, not in the form that we know of. I am perfectly sane of mind, thank you for your concern.”
“Of course, I merely share the rumours I have heard, I do not believe in them.”
“Of course.”
“So… you were not forced into this marriage? Some say that she might have manipulated you. Some say that she used magic to guide your heart.”
“There was no magic involved, outside of love.”
“It is hard to believe that you met her and fell in love out of pure luck, your Majesty.”
“Perhaps I did not. Perhaps Aslan guided my steps. Or perhaps it was fate. Perhaps it was pure luck. Call it what you wish. The truth is that I stumbled on her path, and in a world where I was lost, Y/N saved me. We fell in love. She chose to come here so she could be with me. There is nothing more to tell.”
“You seem perfectly resolute in marrying her.”
“I am absolutely determined to marry the woman I love, indeed.”
Caspian heaved a sigh, you felt him shifting his weight, his boot gently touched yours as he straightened his legs a little.
“We should stop for a few minutes,” he commanded, before opening the small window behind him to shout his ordered to the soldiers. “I am growing numb sitting in this cage.”
“It is safer than riding,” Baras argued, but Caspian huffed, annoyed.
“Which is why I have agreed to travel in this carriage, but I am still allowed to complain about it.”
Baras chuckled.
“I apologize. I know your Majesty prefers the wilderness to closed spaces.”
“Indeed…”
The carriage stopped a few minutes later, and after checking the perimeter, Ammos’s voice rang to notify the passengers that it was safe for them to walk outside for a while.
All climbed out, but Caspian lingered inside for a moment longer. He took off his travelling cloak and covered your still frame. He was arranging the soft fabric to tuck you in properly when your fingers held on his.
He looked up, but your eyes were still closed.
“I love you too,” you whispered, a smile spreading across your features.
He grinned.
“For how long have you been awake?”
“I wasn’t asleep.”
He chuckled.
“That was sneaky.”
“I’m learning politics.”
“And you are becoming good at it.”
He bent to kiss your temple.
“You should rest. We’ll leave again in just a few minutes. Try to sleep, my love.”
He brushed a strand of your hair away from your face, kissed your temple once more, before walking out of the carriage, a smile on his lips that matched yours.
The first evening was spent on the road. You stopped for a few hours but remained in the carriage to sleep. At the second sunset though, you reached an inn that would offer your shelter for the night.
It was already night time when you arrived to the establishment, and there was little you could distinguish of it besides its stature cut against the ghostly shapes of tree trunks and a lantern before the door that shone on a sign where its name was written.
The Fire Horse
Caspian offered you his arm as you walked across the leaves to the door, and you held onto it a little too tightly perhaps, but the shadows of the forest were not reassuring, to say the least… the canopy above your heads cut off most of the light of the stars and moon, you could barely see where you were walking.
The owners of the establishment were a couple of badgers that fussed around a lot, clearly over-excited at the prospect of welcoming the King and mighty Lords in their inn. You found them a little too overzealous, but they seemed nice all the same.
You ate some stew with the Lords and Ladies that travelled with you, the soldiers and lower lords remaining in tents outside. In total, about sixty people were gathered in the room, scattered in little groups around packed tables. There was but one large fire-place, and a broken window let in the cold of the evening. You were grateful that Caspian had not taken his cloak back.
Conversations went smoothly that evening, as most were too preoccupied by being noticed by the king to be mean to you. Besides, the mockeries had diminished after a few meals spent with Baras and his friends, as you stood your ground. Caspian had worked on shutting down many rumours and criticism towards you as well.
You weren’t accepted yet, but the animosity towards you was bearable now.
Both you and Caspian were exhausted though, like most of the party. Outside, besides the guards on sentry, all had already gone to bed when you were guided to your bedroom, right next to Caspian’s. Diego would stand before your door all night, and you thanked him as he bid you a good night.
You were getting ready to go to bed when you heard something tapping on your windowpane. You stopped your movements as you were about to remove the long chemise you wore under your dress. But the sound came again, softened not by distance but by a fear of being heard.
Your mind raced, trying to decide what to do next…
Should you call for Diego? For Caspian? Was it a threat?
You wrapped Caspian’s cloak around you, seized a steel chandelier from the table set in the corner of the room, and decided to draw the curtains before calling for help.
You almost dropped your improvised weapon when you saw… Caspian’s face on the other side of the window.
Now, a little explanation is required to explain why Caspian was at your window, on the third floor of the inn, right above a certain death were he to fall. There was no other door to your room besides the one guarded by Diego, there was thus no way anyone could enter your room undetected. Which was needed to assure your safety. But it was also a problem for Caspian, who wanted desperately to see you.
The cause of this sudden urge of his was probably to be found in the third glass of wine he drank that night at dinner. If he was not drunk he was a little tipsy, with pink colouring his cheeks and his brain taking more foolish decisions than his usually-wise self did. Which was why Caspian decided that it would be a fabulous idea to climb his way from the window of his room to yours. He did not think of the deadly fall that awaited him was he to fall down (lucky for him, your dedicated narrator made sure there was no obstacles to his climb, thus fighting this bloody pigeon that nested in the small nook right above his window). He did not think either of the possibility of being seen by the people sleeping in the dozens of tents that had been set all around the inn (again, lucky for him, I was here to make sure everyone was looking in the opposite direction while Caspian was stupidly risking his life and you were wondering if you were about to be assassinated, you’re welcome).
Thus, when you opened your window, it was to let inside your room a slightly dishevelled and out of breath Caspian, who was grinning all the same.
You hurried to close the window again, draw the curtains to hide him.
“What are you doing here?” you asked in a whisper, afraid to be heard.
“I wanted to see you,” his grin doubled in size.
“That’s dangerous! Do you know how high this window is?!”
He rolled his eyes.
“I have done more dangerous things in my life…”
“I don’t want to know any details about that statement. Still, what are you doing here? Aren’t we supposed to not be caught alone together?”
“Diego is on sentry before your door, and it’s the only way in…”
“Besides the window, clearly. And Diego might hear us.”
“He will not.”
“He might.”
“Are you not happy to see me?”
“I am. I always am happy to see you.”
“Then, why are you standing so far away, instead of being in my arms?”
You chuckled at that, heaved a defeated sigh.
“What was your plan, then?” you asked, walking over to him, and a second later, you were tugged in his safe embrace.
“Climbing inside by your window, spending the night with you and going back to my bedroom before dawn.”
“What if someone sees you?”
“No one will see me.”
(For someone unaware he has an amazing narrator as a guardian angel, Caspian sure is overconfident tonight…)
You heaved a sigh, but couldn’t help but relax and believe him when he whispered in your ear that everything would be alright.
You looked up when he pulled away enough to look at you.
“By Aslan’s name, I’ve been dying to do this ever since we left the fortress…”
Before you could ask him what he meant, Caspian was pressing his lips to yours, holding your face in his palm while his other arm was drawing you closer. It took you barely a second to react and kiss him as well, messy and urgent and too passionate for your lungs and hearts…
“Are you very tired?” Caspian asked before moving his lips down the length of your jaw, and then pressing open-mouthed kisses along your neck, right against your pulse.
“Not enough to ask you to stop, if that’s your question,” you answered with a playful smile on your lips, eyes closing as Caspian nipped at your soft skin.
He chuckled, pulling away completely. You raised a surprised eyebrow when he took off his shirt, leaving himself half-naked before you.
He grinned as he noticed your gaze roaming down the expanse of his chest, hitting the barrier of his belt, and then climbing all the way back up to his dark eyes, your gaze hungry now.
“Good, because I have plans for tonight.”
“Are you sure it’s safe?”
But Caspian’s smile softened.
“I want you. So badly. I’m ready to take the risk.”
“Are you sure?”
“I am. Do you want us to stop?”
But you shook your head.
“Absolutely not. I will kick your pretty arse if you don’t take off the rest of your clothes, actually.”
It was hard for Caspian not to laugh too loudly, after all, discretion was still an imperative. But a couple of seconds later, your lips were back on his, and they were most definitely effective in shutting him up…

King Caspian x fem! Reader
The castle of Narnia had long since gone silent, the night sky taking over. All was quiet except the chambers of the king with his new queen. The guards had long since moved away from the chamber door. The sounds of skin slapping against skin and moans causing blush to ride up there cheek.
In side there chamber Y/n get out a high pitched moan as Caspian suck at her neck as she roll her hips against his. Caspian grunted softly as he grasped at her moving hips, attempting to steady himself as she fucked herself on his cock.
Caspian stared up at his beautiful new wife, his wife. He held tightly onto the soft plush of his body. Her lewd moaning driving Caspian insane. Her hands grasp tightly on his shoulders as she moved her hips. Her greedy cunt sucking in her new husband’s cock into her.
Caspian panted and groan as Y/n sped up her pace. Caspian slowly grabbed one of the hands and placed it gently around his neck. Y/n watched him in confusion as she slowed her pace slightly.
“Cas?” Caspian chuckled slightly and nudged her to grip his neck tightly.
“Please love.” Y/n stared down at her husband with an awe stricken look. She sped her pace up again and Caspian slipped a hand to her little bundle of nerves. Y/n whined softly as her grip on Caspian’s neck tightened. Caspian groaned loudly as her grip tightened.
“You like that my king?” Y/n muttered as Caspian groaned. The coil was being to clench inside of her as she panted. Caspian nodded his head hurriedly as he rubbed quick and messy circles on her nub. The coil inside of her threatened to burst as each movement of her hips.
Caspian grew louder and louder as Y/n gripped onto his neck. Caspian could feel himself falling deep into her. Her eyes, her body, her lovely cunt, her soft hand around his neck
“Please…” Y/n giggled softly as she began to feel the coil snap.
“Are you going to cum for me? Please come for me.” Y/n mumbled against him as they moved in sync. They couldn’t tell who climaxed first. Whether it was Caspian being thrown over the edge by Y/n’s hand on his neck. Or if it was Y/n’s coil breaking as Caspian rubbed at her pearl.
The pair panted as Caspian brought Y/n closer to himself. Y/n fell to his side and cuddled into him as there mixed cum dripped down her thighs. Y/n gently looked at his neck, she gently bite her lip.
“I didn’t hurt you did I?” Caspian shock his head with a smile. “You could never hurt me.” Caspian muttered as Y/n kissed the red of his neck.
“I love you, my dearest husband.”
“And I love you more, my dearest wife.”

ye of little faith | e. p.
nav. | m.list
summary: eustace doesn't believe that edmund has a girlfriend.
wc: 800
pairings: edmund pevensie x fem!reader
warnings: VERY unedited. also it's 1am and i just wrote this in a burst of inspiration, so please don't expect it to be good.
a/n: i don't really know if this will make sense to anyone lol, i think i wrote it in a confusing way, but hopefully it's okay. it's mostly eustace's pov, i wanted to try something new. also, this exact scenario has been in my head for months now.
“There’s no way he has a girlfriend,” Eustace tells Lucy, barging into the room. She immediately knows who he’s talking about, able to hear Edmund on the phone downstairs, voice softer than it usually is, taking the tone he automatically opts for when he speaks to Y/N.
“Why?” Lucy asks, half-heartedly entertaining her annoying cousin while she thumbs through the pages of her book. Unfortunately for her, Eustace Scrubb brightens at the attention, straightening up and launching into a rather well-thought out spiel.
“First of all, it’s Edmund we’re talking about. He’s awkward, way too hostile and bad-tempered. Not to mention, he’s barely of average height, and his hair? Absolutely ridiculous.”
“Y/N likes it,” Lucy says mildly, earning a scoff from Eustace.
“Y/N.” he says with disbelieving scorn, “As if she actually exists. You expect me to believe that a woman as beautiful and intelligent as you lot claim she is would actually be interested in Edmund? And so interested that she calls and writes to him multiple times a week? Yeah, right. I bet that Ed’s hired an escort to help him forget about how lonely he actually is. Or he’s paying some poor girl to play the part of a caring partner.” Eustace has had many such theories, the more creative ones dealing with blackmail and holding family members hostage, but so far, monetary imbursements seem to be the most likely.
“Sure, Eustace,” Lucy mumbles, having checked out of the conversation a while ago. He shakes his head at her disinterest, convinced that he is right, and leaves the room, muttering to himself disbelievingly.
A few days later, a painting gushes out water and swallows them whole, so poor Eustace, although having taunted his cousins with his skepticisms about the magical land of Narnia and called them fools for believing in the same, is forced to confront that he was wrong.
Eustace is soaking wet and miserable, still slightly panic infused. He can’t believe his eyes, convinced that he hallucinated the last fifteen minutes. Sitting on the ship, the Dawn Treader, he watches as his cousins are recognised as King and Queen. He’s related to royalty.
With a humorous snort, he realises that this is more believable than Edmund Pevensie having a girlfriend.
Hell, even the talking rat next to him is more believable.
He goes to voice the same, but is distracted by a joyous whoop descending from the sky, followed by a splash in the ocean. Eustace is too busy trying to catch a glimpse of the figure underwater to notice the hopeful glances Edmund and Lucy exchange, the faint tremour in Edmund’s hands as he snatches a telescope from a passing crew member, getting a clearer view.
“It is her!” Ed cries, only barely held back from jumping overboard by Caspian, who laughs fondly at the Just King. Eustace tries to hear what the Prince tells Edmund, but all noise turns to mush the second he sees the young woman surface, a brilliant smile on her face.
At first glance, he thinks it’s a siren. He’s heard stories about their enchanting beauty and ethereal forms, and Eustace does genuinely believe that this woman is too gorgeous to be human like he is. As she swims closer, though, and the ship's crew help pull her onto the ship, Eustace notices the lack of a tail. And though her hair is soaked and strewn across her face, and her clothes suction themselves to her skin, none of it takes away from her radiance.
It also doesn’t distract him from the fact that she’s walking right towards him.
Eustace’s mouth goes bone dry, and he gulps nervously, afraid she’ll talk to him and afraid she won’t, when suddenly, Edmund swoops past him and towards the woman. He snatches her up in a passionate embrace, hands securing her to him as he twirls her around in sheer delight.
When they kiss, chaste but heady, Eustace decides that he has never actually known anything about anything.
He’s scouring the sky for flying pigs when he hears Edmund’s self-satisfied voice behind him, “And this, my very real girlfriend, Y/N, would be my cousin, Eustace Scrubb.”
“How do you do?” Eustace says weakly, extending a hand, trying his hardest not to faint when you take it.
“Pretty well. If only Edmund would- what was it again?- stop holding my family hostage, I think I’d be great,” you rib amiably, throwing back one of Eustace’s earliest theories back into his now scarlet face.
“No, darling, you’ve got it wrong, I’ve currently got your dogs kidnapped and ready to be shipped to the pound, remember?” Edmund joins in on the fun, his smile widening as he earns a couple of chuckles from you, and a darker flush from Eustace’s cheeks.
Eustace Scrubb, though unwilling, is forced to admit, after watching the two of you interact, gravitating towards each other naturally, at ease with the love that surrounds you, his cousin’s eyes brighter than he’s ever seen them, that it is very believable for Edmund Pevensie to be dating Y/N L/N after all.

Sirius black | I promise its a "small crush"
Angst,no smut. (Y/n is james's twin)
"Hey" Remus came to you in the library. "Hi, uh, have you been studying for potions" You said awkwardly, you've been crying, a bit, your eyes were red. "Yeah, I'm gonna study" He replied, "it's killing me, how am I supposed to know what is what when they're all, just liquid" You rambled.
"Y/n, I know how it feels like, you know, the party" Remus said. "Know what? I enjoyed the party" You said. "You did, until sirius kissed marlene" He said, looking into your eyes, while you on the other hand, you don't want to look at him. "I did enjoy the party until it was over" You defended yourself, deep down you knew it wasn't true, and Remus knew too.
"Y/n, the way you talk to him, look at him, do anything near him, you're like, in love, it's obvious" Said Remus. "Then if it was obvious then why didn't sirius take a hint, a fucking hint! I've been hinting for him for months and every party he just goes with random girls, drinking shit, and getting drunk. I am in love with him Remus, but he's too blind to see that" You said, a tear drop came out of your eyes. "So you do have a crush with him" Remus said.
"I wish we never met so I don't go feral, I'm like crazy! " You groaned. "It's normal for people to have cr-" Remus said until he got cut off by sirius running to the library.
"Holy fuck sirius!" You said, both you and Remus were shocked. "Guys guys, I asked out marlene and she said yes! " Said sirius, he smiled childishly. Remus gritted his teeth, "good for you padfoot" He tried to smile. "That's great sirius, when is it? " You said. "Tomorrow,Hogsmeade!, hold on let me tell prongs and wormtail! " He said excitedly, and left.
You waited until he actually left and cannot hear you and Remus.
"For fuck sake now, I'm just hopelessly in love with him! " You cried, now actual tears are coming out of your eyes, and Remus hugged you. "I'm sure it's alright, now you wanna go to the common room? " He asked, and you nodded.
You two walked to the common room, bringing te books. When you finally reached common room, "rem, I need to take my notebook from your dorm" You said and he nodded, opening the door. You saw prong, padfoot, and wormtail talking. "Hey, what are you talking about" Said remus. "About tommorow" Said sirius. "Great" You sighed. You took the notebook, and you were rushed to go out. "What's the rush y/n? " Said sirius. "Nothing, just I don't know" You said. "Anyways, what outfit shall I wear tomorrow" Said sirius. "That one's great" Said wormtail. "Good, it is good" Said sirius. "Siri, why don't you try it in the bathroom" Said Remus "yeah sure" Said sirius.
After a few second of sirius going out. You started sniffing, holding back tears. "It's alright y/n" Said Remus going to you. "Wait... What.. Wormy, are you thinking what I'm thinking? " Said James. "Yes.. Y/n...are you I love with sirius? " Said Peter. "Yes! See Remus, isn't it obvious! I've been giving him hints! I know I shouldn't like him or more, love him, I knew he's in love with someone else but I just couldn't accept the fact that he is! " You rambled.
"Oh for fuck grace sirius is dead" Said James going to the door. "Don't say anything, James, especially don't hurt him" You said. "How! You are my sister and I care for you! " He said. "I don't want this to be way out of hand, I swear it started as a small crush" You sighed. "I'm going to sleep, and try to forget it, goodnight rem, James, Peter" You said.
When you left the door, it somewhat sucks even more. You cried even more, and there he was, sirius was there with his suit. "Y/n, you alright? " He said and you nodded, you couldn't say anything. You were so distracted that you even forgot to bring the notebook.
You walked into your bed, and covered your self with the blanket and slept. It was miserable, you barely slept. You Overthinked everything. Until.. "Y/n! Wake up! Time to go to Hogsmeade!" She said
"Yeah...sure, just go im not feeling well today" You groaned. "You sure? " She said, and you nodded. She left saying a 'goodbye!'.
You slept again, until "y/n, wake up".it was Remus. "Bloody hell rem" You said, and you finally sat. "Weren't you supposed to be with Siri, prongs, and padfoot? "
"I was, but, you know, I don't want you to be alone, I saw your friends you were not there so James told me that you need to go to Hogsmeade, you know, just have fun" Said remus
Meanwhile, sirius.
"Someone is in love with you, and you know it, you're just blinded, by me" Said marlene
"What? I don't know anyone who loves me" He said
"You know, it's one of your closes friend, she's been hinting and me, dorca, lily, remus are actually suffering about it, you barely talk to her nowdays"
"Her?, her who? " Sirius said. His face, he looks like he was haunted by a ghost.
"You're blind sirius, I love someone else" Said marlene.
"Who is she? "
"Y-y/n"
Sirius just had this, montage of you two together. "Shit" He said. "Go for her Sirius, if you want to" She said. He nodded and left.
That moment, sirius had realized, marlene isn't for him. He had realized that, he was in love with you. With you.
Y/n on the other hand
You walked to Hogsmeade walking around to see.. Sirius.
"Siri, what are you doing, arent you supposed to be on a date..? " You said. "Come with me y/n" He said. You followed him, leaving remus to go buy chocolates.
"Y/n, ive realized that that 'date' have opened my eye, that i wasn't in love with marlene, but I am in love with you, y/n" He said wisely, not like his normal self.
"Siri... I.. I love you too" You said. You two get noticeably closer and closer.. And you kissed him, passionately.
Now.. You won't be sad anymore.

****
Pairing: King Caspian x reader
Warnings: angst, mentions of blood and description of a wound, violence… our baby’s fighting!
Summary: Caspian comes back to Cair Paravel alive after a campaign against a neighbouring kingdom, but he’s still in a pretty bad shape. You’ve been worried sick about him, and even if you are but a servant, even if it’s not your place… you can’t help but look for him that night, just to make sure that he’s alright.
Word Count: 2950
Caspian’s Masterlist – Main Masterlist
You knew that you shouldn’t be there, and yet, you couldn’t help your feet as they crossed the castle.
You were but a servant, after all, you ought to remain where you belonged. Which was anywhere but near the King. And yet…
… yet there you were, in front of the door of his private chamber, with some water and some clothes and bandages in your hands.
You had managed to convince your colleague to let you go in her stead; to have an excuse to offer the guards to let you pass and access the King’s private chambers. And she disapproved of your feelings towards the leader of your people, but she didn’t understand. She didn’t understand that you knew him. That you had spent long evenings with him, when you should have been cleaning and he should have been resting; talking, laughing, falling in love, one dreadful and yet irrevocable step at a time. A love that you had never confessed, knowing that he would not feel the same, knowing that this was impossible.
There had been rumours spreading while he was gone, talks of a terrible injury, the kind that could be lethal. Talks of his death, even. Of Caspian being hit by the sharp edge of a blade across the chest, of his blood staining the grass and making the cold ground fume. Of his eyes closing forever, of a last breath being drawn… And you refused to believe it. Even when people started to guess the name of the next King, you refused to give in. Something inside you knew that he was still out there, alive and breathing and that he would come home, eventually. Your friends called it delusion, denial. You preferred to call it instinct.
Still, when you had seen him, along with a large crowd gathered by the doors of Cair Paravel to welcome him back, you were worried. Everybody was. If he was smiling, Caspian was paler than you had ever seen him, his arm wrapped in a bandage, pain written all over his features despite his best efforts to hide it. Instead of the traditional banquet, the King had retired to his chambers as quickly as he could to rest, and rumours were starting again, claiming that his injury was worse than it seemed, that his life was still at stake, that a doctor was there constantly, that he had called for his advisors to decide on who would step next to the throne, just in case…
You had to make sure that none of these rumours were true, that he was fine. So, you imagined that trick with your colleague, convinced her to do it. And if she was supposed to give the bandages and the water to the guards, you had claimed that you had been told to bring them directly to the King. A royal order. No one could go against that. If Caspian failed to back up your story, you could be fired, or worse, sent in a dark cell for many years, but you didn’t care. Caspian and his injury were the only things on your mind.
You gathered your courage in a long intake of breath, and finally knocked on Caspian’s door.
His answer sounded distant, weaker than usual. Still, you obeyed the invitation, opened the door and walked in.
Caspian was lying in his bed, pillows set against the headboard so he could be half-seated. There were candles on his bedside table, and a warm fire in the hearth, and yet the room was dark, the inky sky shy of a moon and stars tonight. A half-eaten meal rested in a small tray by the bed, a book was set on the covers. And Caspian was there, buried under blankets, looking weak for the first time since you had met him.
Oh, you knew that he could be a gentle soul, you had talked about his weaknesses, he had showed you parts of his heart few had been lucky enough to glimpse at. But this was different. Somehow, over the course of the last year, ever since you had started speaking to him in private, Caspian had been a constant in your life. Once a week, you would sit together in the library, or in the gardens if the weather was gentle enough to allow it, and you would talk about yourselves, about what had happened in your lives while you were apart, about his worries, and your tasks, and he would complain about foreign dignitaries that drove him crazy, and you would laugh as you mocked some impolite lords and ladies. Every week for a year, you had been longing for these few hours spent with him, for his reassuring presence by your side, for the attentive ear he was lending to your unimportant life. And perhaps it was stupid, because again, you were but a servant, but during all these evenings you couldn’t help but believe him when he said that he cared, that he wanted to see you, that he was happy to spend time with you. It had been a regular meeting that had marked your life in such a way that you could not imagine living without it now.
And now, Caspian was lying in a bed, pale as sheets, beard a little overgrown, eyes so tired they seemed buried in their sockets, dark bags dug under his eyes. And for the first time, you thought that perhaps the rumours were true, that his life truly was endangered, that you could lose him for good…
“Y/N?”
He beamed up at you, a tiny bit of colour coming back to his cheeks for a moment, you couldn’t help but smile back.
“Your Majesty,” you bowed before walking closer, setting the water and clothes on a small table near the bed.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, but there was no resentment in his voice, more like disbelief, a tinge of awe at the sight of you.
“I came to take care of your bandages.”
“You?”
“I… I might have insisted…”
He chuckled, but quickly winced instead, hissing as his hand flew to hold his ribs. And he looked exhausted all over again.
“I apologize… broken ribs,” he explained. “Laughing is not recommended for a few more days.”
“I am sorry, I did not mean to cause you any pain. I can come back later…”
“No!”
He held out his hand, and you had no choice but to take it.
“Please, stay,” he asked, begging, and you had never seen such desperation in his eyes before. “Please…”
“Alright, I will stay.”
He pulled you closer, gently, until you would sit by his side; and he smiled at the feeling of the mattress bending slightly under your weight.
“What happened?” you asked, suddenly conscious of the quiet in the room, a silence barely disturbed by the cracking of the fire and the lulling movement of the wind.
He gave you a reassuring smile.
“I shall be healed in a few weeks, there is no need for you to worry.”
“There are rumours…”
“I am certain that they are most interesting. When is my untimely demise supposed to occur?”
He seemed relaxed despite his tiredness, and you caught yourself smiling at his joke.
“About three days ago.”
“Dear Aslan, I am back from the dead already!”
“It would seem so. You look the part, at least.”
He tried not to laugh, and you apologized as he winced.
“I have missed this.”
“My obvious disrespect toward my King?”
“You. I have missed you.”
He blinked, and you thought he needed rest, but he asked for you to stay again, just a little longer, and you couldn’t refuse.
“You did not answer. What happened?”
Caspian shrugged.
“It was a battle, I was wounded. There is nothing else to say about it.”
Slowly, you nodded, knowing that he was avoiding your question, but letting him get away with it.
“I should change your bandage. And then, I will let you rest.”
“Do I truly look so bad?” he asked with a crooked smile, but it faltered as you averted your eyes. It was your time to avoid his question.
You helped him out of his shirt, revealing the large bandage that encircled his torso and shoulder. He had another one around his arm. Both wounds were deep cut, that had been stitched by the expert hands of a doctor. Still, as you stared at the broken flesh, at the spots of blood still on his skin, at the red line crossing his chest… you realized just as lucky he was to still be breathing.
The rumours, if exaggerated, were not unfounded either…
You got to work in silence, hands shaking as you held back tears. Because you could have lost him this time, he could have never come back home, and then you would have never been able to tell him what he meant for you. That he was everything. That you loved him with a devotion you had never guessed yourself capable of. With a love you knew could never falter…
“Y/N?”
He wrapped his hand around yours, steadying your trembling fingers. You realised, then, that you were crying.
“I am fine. It is just a wound, it will heal.”
You didn’t stop him when he guided your palm to his heart, splaying your hand across his warm chest, and your heart staggered at the contact. He made you feel the organ hidden there, beating steadily, unwaveringly.
“I am fine. I am here,” he went on, tone soothing, unbelievably warm, and it made you cry even harder, breaking all of the borders to your hearts, all the walls guarding your soul.
“I was so scared,” you admitted, voice hoarse with your cries. “I am so scared…”
“There is no reason for you to worry. It will heal. I am perfectly fine. I simply need a few days of rest, and then everything will be back to normal.”
“You could have died…”
“But I did not.”
“This time. This time, you did not. What about next time?”
“Next time, I will not die either. I will come back, and you will be here to welcome me home, just as you are here now.”
He brushed your tears away with his thumb.
“Stop crying. I cannot see you in pain.”
But you didn’t calm down, and he frowned in worry.
“Y/N, what is it? What is on your mind? What has you so upset?”
Under your palm, his heart was still beating, you could feel it run across your entire body. You would have sworn your own heart was in sync with his now.
“I am sorry,” you whispered. “I cannot help it. The way… the way I feel for you. I am sorry.”
He frowned slightly at that, but there was some hope in his eyes as well.
“I think… Seeing you like this… I cannot hold it back any longer. I just… I must let it out. Even if I know that this is impossible, and that my feelings are unrequited… and perhaps you will never want to see me again but… it hurts too much to think that you could have died without knowing.”
You were bolder than you had ever believed yourself to be capable of when you reached up to touch his cheek, fingers tickled by his beard.
“I love you,” you confessed in a breath that even you could barely hear, and yet Caspian seemed to catch it loud and clear. The way his breath caught in his throat, and his heart under your palm sped up, became erratic… all these were giving him away. “I love you, Caspian. I have loved you for a long time. And… I know that I am servant, and that I will never be more than a faithful friend to you, but… I wanted to tell you, while I have the chance. Because despite being forbidden, my feelings are earnest, and that ought to mean something… If anything, it ought to be worthy of acknowledgement, at the very least…”
You were surprised to find tears in Caspian’s eyes, some that he tried to blink away, but failed to force into disappearance. Instead, he pressed your palm harder against his chest, and his heart was beating dangerously fast now. And through his gesture, he was trying to tell you something, or rather, to show you, as words were failing him now.
But you didn’t understand, and so he cleared his throat, at long last.
“I did not think that you felt this way for me.”
“I thought I was being obvious,” you replied, a painful smile on your lips. “All of my colleagues know. They have guessed. They call me a fool for it, and they are right, of course.”
“A fool?”
“You are King, and I am a servant. There is no more foolish love as this one.”
“I highly disagree. If anything… if anything, I am happy you are letting yourself yield to such foolishness.”
You frowned at his words, afraid to understand what he meant.
He looked down for a moment, looking for the right words, it seemed, and you gave him the time he needed to start speaking. Anyway, you didn’t know what to say.
“If you are opening your heart to me, then… I reckon that I should open mine as well. I… I was hoping you would come, that I would see you today. But I was worried that you would not want to see me, so I did not ask for you to come.”
You frowned at that.
“Why would I not want to see you?”
Caspian shrugged.
“I did not think that you harboured such feelings for me. I thought… I thought I was a mere friend. You have never shown any sign that there could be more…”
“You are King, there cannot be more. Despite my feelings, I am well aware that there will never be anything more between us.”
But Caspian shook his head, capturing your gaze in the blackness of his irises.
“Y/N… I am King. I am the one making the laws, I can marry whoever I want.”
He said it like it was easy. Like it would not create rumours, create tensions with other lands, like it would not infuriate the entirety of the Lords and Ladies, like the whole of Narnia would not criticize his choice. Like it merely depended on the two of you. It seemed such a foolish view of the world, naïve, too much so for such a clever man.
“The political crisis that would follow would be disastrous.”
“Why would it be? There is nothing wrong in falling in love. There is nothing wrong in marrying the woman I love either. We have never behaved in a disrespectful way, we have never crossed any line that should have remained uncrossed. There is nothing wrong with this…”
The woman I love.
His words echoed still in your ears, in your heart as well. You could not believe them… or rather, you could not believe that they were meant for you.
“Besides, there is a very easy solution to our problem.”
“Really?”
“I can dismiss you from the castle. Then you will no longer be a servant working at Cair Paravel. And then, if you want me, I can marry you.”
You stopped breathing altogether, and Caspian seemed amused by your expression. The smile that formed on his tired features was full of fondness.
“It is funny that you blame me for being blind, when you have been just as unable to see the truth as I was. I thought, too, that I was being quite obvious.”
“You cannot be meaning that.”
But he pressed your palm tighter against the skin of his chest, so you could feel even more vividly the beating of his heart against your hand, until it felt like you were touching it, like you were holding the organ itself.
He looked at you with such intensity, the entire world around you had disappeared.
“Y/N… do you not know…? Do you not know that my heart is yours? That it has always been yours? Can you not feel it?”
He gave you a gentle smile, voice barely more than a whisper and much deeper than usual, the weight of the confession making it too hard for him to breathe.
“My heart is in the palm of your hand, where it has always belonged. It has always been yours to hold in your hands.”
It was his turn to reach for your cheek, and you leaned into his touch without noticing. When he gently pulled you down, failing strengths not allowing him to lean up to meet you, you didn’t resist. Instead, you allowed him to guide you to him, until his lips and yours were but a breath away from each other.
“I love you,” he whispered, and your heart, you thought, exploded. “Can I… Can I do this? Y/N, I have been dreaming about this for so long…”
Instead of answering, of granting him permission to finally kiss you, you were the one to close the distance between your mouths, kissing him achingly, with every bit of your worry, your love, your passion, your withheld feelings poured into him through the tender gesture. And he responded with the same strength, the same unwavering desire to hold you closer, to devour you until you were one, to show you just as much he felt for you…
You kissed for a long time, forgetting about the world, the duties, the ranks and the time that passes. And in your palm, his heart was beating.

Three Years | Edmund Pevensie x Reader
Summary: You see Edmund and Lucy again in the most unexpected of places after their departure three years earlier.
Warnings: kissing (between Edmund x reader)
. . .
Salt.
It was misting over your face, tangy as it melted on your tongue.
The sun was just rising over the horizon, the endless blues of the sea turning golden and pink as they reflected the light.
Besides the creaking of the ship, and the shuffling of feet below deck as the crew began to stir and rise for the day, all was silent.
You had been waking up early every day since the voyage had begun. Without any reason, drawn to the crow’s nest in the misty grays of dawn before the rest of the world awakened. Watching the sunrise from the perfect spot.
The day would be like any other that had come before.
When Caspian, in all his kingly charm, had requested that you accompany him on this trip to the ends of the world you had been expecting more dangerous conquests. All you had battled so far was seasickness.
“Good morning. See anything?” The aforementioned king called up his usual greeting to you, hair ruffling in the cool breeze.
“Sea and more sea!”
You don’t hear it but can imagine the chuckle he releases through the rise and fall of his shoulders as he walks away to resume his check of the ship.
The sun continues to rise higher and higher into the sky, a cloudless day stretching away. You had snuck away to catch a moment of quiet in the crow’s nest.
Watching the empty waves was beginning to bore you.
When.
It couldn’t be-
“Caspian!” You yelled, jumping over the wooden beams that held you aloft. Grabbing hold of the rope to slide down, all the while yelling Caspian’s name.
“What is it?”
“There on the eastern starboard, I saw something. Someone.”
Caspian runs to the railing, quickly yelling orders at the crew to begin a rescue.
Rescue?
You’re too stunned by the possibility of a rescue to react when Caspian himself dives into the water. You’ve been watching the waters - there have been no sightings of any boats or ships for days now. Not even a rowboat.
The creak of the pulley grabs your attention, dragging first Caspian into view and then the young girl huddled against his side.
It couldn’t possibly be-
Lucy Pevensie. Daughter of Eve.
She shouts your name and crashes into you with little grace. You don’t care that she’s dripping water everywhere, returning her fierce embrace.
“Oh Lucy.” You can’t help the wide smile.
And then you see him, standing besides Caspian with his own smile looking at you.
“Edmund.” You breathe so quietly you aren’t sure you say anything, but Lucy pulls away and beckons her brother over.
He says your name just as quietly and gets close enough for you to touch him but he doesn’t make the first move, just looking and looking.
“Well come here!” You wrap your arms around him, relishing the way he grabs onto you gently. Almost shyly.
He whispers your name again, to himself, committing every bit of this to memory. He thought he remembered everything; but now he realizes how much he’s forgotten. The way you felt against him, the feel of your hair against his face, the way you smell.
A piercing scream cuts your reunion short, and Edmund has even more reason to despise his cousin when he feels the loss of your warmth against him.
“Welcome aboard the Dawn Treader.”
. . .
Edmund tried to fall asleep, he truly did.
The creaking of the ship and the swaying of his hammock made of his stomach roll, but he could’ve adapted to it if it wasn’t for the snoring of Eustace. He also couldn’t stop thinking about you and how much his heart swelled, almost painfully, when he thought about the look on your face when you saw him. Like you were happy to see him.
He’s sitting outside now, on the eastern stern of the ship, giddy at the feeling of the wind against his face. Narnian air.
“Edmund.”
His gaze cuts from the endless water to your form, seemingly materializing out of nowhere. Like a dream. It feels too much like the many dreams he had back home, wanting nothing more than to see you again.
“Mind if I join you?”
He shuffles over on the bench, trying to contain his grin when you open the blanket you brought and drape it over your shoulders and his.
“Tell me about your world.”
You play with his hand, tracing over the lines on his palm. Edmund doesn’t know how to describe it to you; he’s fought battles by your side, danced with you under the Narnian sky while fireworks flashed across the sky. In England, he’s no one.
“There’s nothing exciting there. Nothing like what we did.”
“Isn’t that a good thing?”
“I suppose so.”
You can tell there’s more he isn’t saying, something that is eating away from him. But you don’t pry. Not yet.
“Tell me. What have you been doing since I left?” Edmund asks.
You hum, fingers still tracing over the lines on Edmundo’s palm. Trying to reconcile three years worth of memories into something amusing or daring, but the truth is… that without Edmund, dealing with his sudden departure had left you in misery.
“Can I be honest with you, Edmund?”
He doesn’t answer right away, shifting slightly so he’s turned toward you instead of side by side. Hand gently squeezing yours.
“Of course you can.”
“The past three years have been amazing, theoretically. Caspian has managed to restore peace and order to the lands, Narnians have been rebuilding their lives and I… I missed you. I kept thinking to myself, ‘Edmund would love this’.”
“I missed you too.” Edmund says quietly. “Lucy had to drag me out of bed most days, because at least in my dreams I might get to visit you again.”
“Edmund?”
He hums in response.
You turn your body so you’re facing him too, the blanket you’d brought slipping down to your waist. Even with the chilly breeze from the ocean you don’t feel cold, feeling the warmth radiating from Edmund. From where his thigh touches yours. His hand still in yours.
You ask the question that you’ve thought about every night since he and his siblings walked through the tree back into their world.
“Why didn’t you kiss me?”
You don’t have to specify - when, where, what? Edmund knows exactly what you’re talking about.
The night of Caspian’s coronation, the sky lit up with fireworks. The way the colors flashed over your face, the whizz and crack of the fireworks vibrating through his chest. Your hands on his shoulder, his on your waist.
It felt like a moment torn out of a fairytale, the only thing missing was a twirl and a dip in the dance that ended in a kiss.
Instead, once the majority of the merriment commenced, the fireworks fizzled out and the food and drink all gone, Edmund walked you to your room. You remember the way your heart beat, so fast, feeling more nervous than you had on the battlefield days earlier.
“Goodnight,” Edmund had said, pressing a kiss to your hand and then he was gone in the castle shadows. The next day he was gone from Narnia.
“I did kiss you.” He has a hint of a smirk on his lips, but you can see the flush on his cheeks.
“On the hand does not count! Did you not want to kiss me?”
“Of course I did. I’ve spent three years thinking how foolish I was not to.”
“Then why didn’t you?”
“I knew Susan and Peter had spoken to Aslan and that they seemed upset. I had a suspicion of what they discussed. So, that night with you… I felt that if we got closer than we already had, I wouldn’t be able to bear it. Knowing how it felt and then leaving. I’m not sure I would’ve gone with them.”
“I thought I misread you.”
“I’ve spent three years regretting that night. I should have kissed you.”
“I think it’s time we rectify that, hm?”
You kiss him, and you’re struck by warm he is. Slow and languid, the kiss is sweet. Filled with years of pent up longing finally being released.
Shaking your hand loose, your hand slides up to his neck, gently guiding his eager mouth closer to yours. He breath hitches in his throat, biting back a moan.
It gets messy, clumsy. Noses bumping against each other. His hand finds it way to your waist, your own hands slipping into the loose hair at the nape of his neck. You pull him closer and closer until he’s pressed right against you.
You pull away with a heaving breath, Edmund chasing your lips.
“I need a breather.” You huff out.
“I’ve thought about doing that every single night since Caspian’s coronation.”
“Oh, you mean after you chickened out and didn’t kiss me? And then left for three years?”
Edmund rolls his eyes, pulling away in his stubbornness. “I didn’t see you making a move either, oh fearless one.”
“I think I just did.”
“Three years later.” He mocks.
You shut him up with another kiss, this time finding a rhythm with your lips that makes your toes curl.
The voyage ahead was certain to become more dangerous with each passing day, but here, wrapped in a king's embrace, you think of nothing else but him. Edmund.

clean your sword
i. Peter had thought many times about dying for his brother, killing for his sisters, as all oldest children do.
ii. He'd imagined it a hundred times: how if his mother and father were ever killed, he'd get some low-skill job and make sure Lucy's clothes still fit her as she grew. How he'd make fists and fight dirty if Susan was ever threatened. What he'd do if Edmund ever had to flee the country on a dark, windswept night.
iii. Yet when he heard Susan's horn that day, he still froze. Only for an instant, he thought, "this can't be my job, right?"
iv. The blood on his sword shone red when it was all over. When he wiped it on the grass, the stain it left was almost black.
v. They'd put Susan in his arms when he was two years old. Peter didn't remember it, but he knew he'd been waiting for her till then. He wasn't a real person until he was a brother.
vi. And when they walked back to the pavilion, Rhindon bumping Peter's hip, all he could say to his sisters was, "I'm sorry I didn't come faster."
vii. The High King was almost obsessive in the way he cared for Rhindon. When he grew older and required weapons larger than those made for a child, he obsessed over them too.
viii. He told the others, in no uncertain terms, that if it ever came to it in battle, they were to leave him and live. As their brother and high king, he commanded it.
ix. The first time Edmund risked himself for Peter's sake, Peter didn't speak to him for a week.
x. He was oiling his sword when Edmund found him. "See, the thing is, Peter, being brothers goes both ways. If you can love me enough to die for me, than I get to love you just the same."
xi. Peter agreed with him then, to avoid the argument. He was sick of not talking to his brother. Yet privately, he knew that Edmund was wrong. That sacrifice was Peter's special prerogative, as the first-born.
xii. Back in England, his mother noticed that Peter had become more fastidious. She didn't notice that his protective streak has grown - and maybe it hadn't, really.
xiii. It was uncanny, how Peter would always show up just when his siblings needed him. He'd round a corner, and there was Lucy stamping her feet and scowling at a bully. There was Susan, crying, and now his knuckles were bloody.
xiv. He cleaned the blood off in the sink so carefully. The water ran red for a second, and it almost seemed black.
xv. When Caspian asked for the High King's advice, looking so very young, Peter jerked his chin towards the sword a Caspian's hip. "Be ready to use that," he said. "Keep it clean, and close."
xvi. Susan forgot Narnia and she forgot Aslan. Yet selfishly, Peter still hoped that she would never forget how quickly he came when she called.
#Peter's whole personality is Big Brother and everything else stems from that. this is why i love him#like. the age gap between my sister and me is not large but i can't think of a time in my childhood when I didn't have contingency plans#for what I'd do if i needed to protect her. or like if we got kidnapped and i needed to fix it. or if mom and dad died what i would do#even when we weren't getting along. i am convinced it's a primal Oldest Sibling instinct#whether these plans were even marginally executable is. another thing#high king over all the rest#narnia#pontifications and creations#leah stories#no one will ever walk the earth so close to you
